*Kero laughs*

He does...and woe betide the one who finds his skin....*Kero finds himself hoisted into the air, his face turning blue*...Ack....ugh...okay...okay...

*He drops*

Jeez....find some other way to say "I'm Irked at you, Kero"....please...

Why...when that works just fine at shutting you up....

Passura ignores the bickering and reaching out, plaes his hand on Keva's head. Closing his eyes he reaches inward, carefully sorting that which is from that which was not. After several long minutes he comes up with a tiny frown. "You... you really don't have a form..." he whispers in alarm.

"That is because he is a kami." says Tam coming up behind him and kneeling. "He's a spirit, Pasa. But he does have an identity... a sense of self... just dig a little deeper. I can see you are on the right path." He places his hands on the boys' shoulders and lends him his strength.

Passura steels himself once more and re-enters the snake's mind. This time, instead of looking for a physical sense of self, he digs even deeper to find the core of Keveka's being and finally he does, hidden away in an odd mental jar.

"Whatever you do, don't break the jar, but pour it out." comes Tam's thoughts drifting down to him through the touch.

He lifts the jar, which seems to weigh a ton and carefully pours it forth, illuminating wat appears to be the confines of an ancient temple.

*Now, he finds himself joined by Kero...a silent observer*

So...that is who Keveka is...come back to us, apprentice mine...

Before them stand a young human appearing male, that is only slightly transparent. He has hair the color of moonlight down to his knees and is wearing a robe threaded with gold. He examines his hands and looks up with a grin, sapphire eyes gleaming in the glow Passura has set loose.

"Thank the Lady." he murmurs and goes to kneel before Passura, taking the boy's hands into his own. "I owe you a life debt." he whispers bowing his head of their joined hands.

*Kero smiles, extracting himself from the joined mind...and shaking the two of them out of the trance as well*

Ok, you two...arise from the endless slumber...awaken, or I shall dump Ice water upon you two...ULP!

*Once again, he is hoisted into the air, his face rapidly turning blue*

Passura sits down hard and stares at Kerobian, hanging in the air, suspended by.... *nothing*.

Keveka chuckles and transforms at last, going from large dark colored snake to a large iridescent snake to a smaller snake, to fox. He sits down by Passura and cocks his head to one side. "Wonder what bug got under Uncle Jor's skin this morning. He's really testy. Though if he's feeling half of what I was feeling I fully understand."

*Kero's face is now purple...and he seems to be flexing his fingers...and then he is gone, and he reappears, gasping for breath, on top of a nearby tree*

Master....don't ever do that again....Good to have you back with us, Keva...and back to your normal size as well...okay...first lesson will be essence control...how to keep yourself from transforming completely.

*Changes into a bird and flies down...then shifts back to his favorite form*

Like so...

Keva nods. "I know. But how do you maintain that connection in a hurry. That's what happened, I think. Ye were so big, I was running to keep from getting crushed and trying to copy you at the same time. Couldn't remember what yer coloring was so I reached for my memory of Uncle Jor... bad move... huh?"

*Kero nods*

Never, ever base your transformations like that...you risk getting trapped. Now, as for me, you have to trust me not to get too big...I took up only half the room, more than enough for you to get started. Speed, like I have, will come with time and training. You have to learn how to do it, that's all. Now, to trap your essence, and keep it from shifting, you have to surround it...but not with a jar. With a sphere, like I use...a glass bubble, between what your body is, and who you really are. Make sense? Good...because your homework is to construct and deconstruct such a bubble ten times every time the aethr howls, got it?

Keva sinks to the ground with a groan. "Yes, Master Kerobian." he says, sighing heavily. "But I've had that jar for years. It's what I was told to form as a child. It's not going to be easy altering it."

Tam chuckles. I know... maybe ye should do it in steps, working up to it. Ye think that would work, Taro? Mayhaps a glass jar for a few days, then a glass globe, eventually thinning it out."

*Kero nods*

The reason for the glass, Keveka, is so that your mind and body do not become seperated...one can still see and communicate with the other...did you notice that you could do very little when your essence was in that jar...the reason for that is the fact that the two had seperated, no longer able to interface with each other...you have to leave room for that, Keva...or you'll never come back.

The kitsune fox nods and gives him a wan smile. "I understand, but understanding isn't going to help break a habit as ingrained as mine. Thanks, everyone." He turns to the young serpentine and bows once more, this time in the flesh. "Especially you, Pasa. You have a rare and powerful gift... to enter a mind so fearlessly, to handle one's being so carefully... you must be one who heals instinctively... me'thinks you'e a mind healer."

The boy blushes purple and lowerrs his gaze. "You are very much welcomed, Keva." he replies in a soft half-embarrassed whisper.

*Kero goes over to Pasa and pulls his head up*

Don't lower your gaze, Pasa...you have a rare and wonderful gift...be proud of it...that you can do that means you have a bright future ahead of you...now...what say we all get some lunch...I'll cook...

The boy's eyes brighten at the suggestion and a growl from his stomach shows ow eager he is to fill it.

*Kero moves into the cavern and begins to cook, poaching some fish in water that he has seasoned, then liberally salting it...finally, he shakes red pepper over it, and serves it up, alongside various vegetables, that he puts on everyone's plate...carrots, potatoes, and broccoli, which he himself eats, hiding his distaste of it underneath a mask*
