champhy chuckles sourly... wasn't me idea... though i wasn't adverse to it at the time... ye need to remember what i am... er was... oh heck... whatever... that life is behind me now... ye see... iffin it wasn't fer lyssie... i'd probably be eggin me boy on rather than arguing with his chosen path.... but she "tamed" me ye see... no bridle... she simply befriended me when i needed a friend badly... and well... one thing led to another... next thing i knew i was finding me old behavior repulsive... as fer me mate... his name is skull dancer.... it's his chosen name... not sure what his true name is... he never gave it out... not to me that is... dun tink he trusted me... heck.. among me people and his... no one ever trusts anyone....

*Kero quickly makes a memory rear into Shia's mind...of when she and Rhea were playing as Kero slept...how Rhea had told her that Kero hated his brother for a long time for what he did...how that hatred had consumed him from within*

ye see a string of petty thefts which had occurred in the castle and then see shia being accused of more than half of them as the items were found in her room.... trouble is... when ye go to confront averus, ye decide to do a bit of snooping there and see that he didn't so much do it to get her in trouble but to get her to like and respond to him as someone who brings her small pretty gifts... he was going to own up to the thievery but things had gotten so far out of hand, he had been afraid to admit he had done the acts for fear she'd hate him anymore....
as for most of everything else it was a matter of jealousy and envy.... as he saw her as someone privileged far beyond what he thought necessary

Jeez...what a conundrum...Averus...here is what we can do...I want you to confess to every thing you've stolen...verbally...to their owners...tell them Shia never did it...as for your jealously...colt...ye live a free life...as the heir of this castle...she spends her days in a classroom, locked away with a master...trying to learn all she will need to know...so why are you jealous?
And if you want to make friends with Shia....give her this...ye're working for it, so I feel no guilt at giving it to you.

later that evening... kero stumbles upon averus sitting with shia in the garden under an apple tree.... shia has the doll in her hands and she is looking serious and thoughtful... averus is hopeful and very very nervous..... and ye decide that this time ye won't eavesdrop ad it probably wasn't necessary.....

unhappy about it would be an understatement, mage..... says champhy with a sigh.... he looks upon averus as an extension of himself.... but he won't try to enter here... i think lyssie has this place spellbound against him.... it's yer realm i fear which may see him rear his ugly head.....
