"Um. . . uh . . . Tetsuiga is . . . well . . . he is . . ." Kagome was trying to find a way for L to NOT discover InuYasha's secret but just then the hanyou turned human walked in to find out what was taking Kagome so long at the door.
"K-Kikyo, what the hell's taking so long?!" Then he saw L. He froze in his tracks. "s**t." he said. He hated when he knew people who knew his secret. Complete strangers that he was never going to see again were perfectly fine but people who he had met before could obviously put two and two together.

L looked at InuYasha in a confused manner "...Did you do somthing with your hair Tetsuiga kun?...". He walked closer and lokked on the top of InuYasha's head "Hm...Where are your ears?...".

"I didn't do anything with my ears! You were ther when I went into Kagome's barrier! I've turned into a goddam human!" InuYasha snapped.
"Calm down, uh . . . Tetsuiga. It's only for one night." Kagome tried to soothe the irritated man. "L? What is it you need to talk about?" she asked remembering his earlier statement when he came in.

L took his eyes from InuYasha to Kagome and said "Well Miss.Kikyo, I've seen what you and Tetsuiga can do and was wondering if you would be interested in helping me and Light in catching Kira.". ((Im unsure if kagome and inuyasha were already officially helping sweatdrop ))

"Keh." InuYasha said and went back to the dining room.
Kagome sweatdropped. "W-what he means is that we'll be happy to help."
"I thought we agreed that BEFORE L came over." InuYasha said from the other room.
That's when Souta decided to join in the conversation. "Inu-Tetsuiga, who's L?"
"You might just wanna stay out of this one Shippo." InuYasha said.

L nodded at Kagome and said "Good, do you have anything planned tomorrow? Because I will need to meet you and Tetsuiga in my office...Here." he handed her two cards, one with InuYasha's face and fake information, and one with Kagome's picture and fake identification. "These should get you in if you're able to attend...If you can come, you will need to pack some supplies. Sometimes this investigation could have everyone actually in my office over night waiting for clues.".

"Well I was thinking that I would go and tell my friends that I won't be able to come back for a while and Tetsuiga and I will be staying here until Kira's gone." Kagome said thoughtfully. "But other than that, I guess I'm free.
"NO WAY are you going back there without me!" InuYasha said angrily from the dining room.
"Kagome if you have a friend over, you could invite him to have dinner with us." Mrs. Higurashi said kindly.
"Mom!" Kagome was so embarrassed by her family sometimes.

L shook his head a bit and smiled a little saying "No thank you, I would feel as though I'm inviting myself to dinner.". He began to walk out and said "I'll be at my office if you need anything, Miss. Kikyo.".

(Random anime girl rant...))
"Sh-shinigami, but Fin, Fin says that Shinigami can only be seen by those who are about to die" she started off slowly. "Oh no! Wait, did Fin...when did she? She couldn't have and Chiaki too? This is horrible! I mean, I didn't believe she would, but if I can see them and he does too..does that mean..." she rambled on more to herself than the others making no sense.
((Is light still there or did he leave too?))

Light looked a bit shocked when he heard Shinigami and asked "You two are...Shinigami?". He thought for a moment 'thats odd, I haven't touched anyone elses Death Note other then Misa's...How can this be? I thought Shinigami were demonic looking beings as well! This is strange, and seeing as they're Shinigami I won't be able to kill them so I'll have to make sure they don't find me with the Death Note...' Light looked at the others and asked Chiaki "I hate to change the subject but could you tell me where your bathroom is?". While saying that he stuffed his Death Note further into his back pocket so it couldn't be seen.

Access flew a few feet away. "I going to go on the look out for demons. Meet you back there later!" he said before leaving.

Light smiled at Chiaki and said "Thank you.". Underneath that smile he was really planning somthing. 'As soon as we get to Shinji's apartment I can call for Ryuk and ask him about these Shinigami...And maybe even find Shinji's real name in a book or on a belonging somewhere...'.

"No problem" Chiaki responded oblivious to Light's true intentions. ((well...he's not that thoughtful)). "You two can come too, if you want." Chiaki said to the two Shinigami. He headed pout of the park knowing the others could follow if they wished, with Maron walking by his side.
"ummm...Shinji?" she asked unsure about his name.
"yes?" Chiaki asked.
"I wanted to tell you..."
"Yeah?" Chiaki asked with interest.
"I'm not going to thank you for helping me before" she said stubbornly.
"Oh" his enthusiasm dropped. "Right"
"So, I'll just say I owe you a favor." Maron finished.
"I'll keep that in mind" he said amused. he always found Maron's attempt at thanking him funny.
They stopped outside the apartment building. He opened the door for Maron and the other(s).
