I am totally not surprised this took you all day! It is highly detailed and I know how long it takes to draw mechanical things in any detail. Straightedges and circles and everything like that (even if you are drawing digitally) slow down the process A LOT, but the drawings rarely work unless you are using the frickin' straightedge. (This from the person who drew the ship for Day 3. XD) It looks fantastic so far! You even have some line variation in there; I'd try to push that even further as you move forward. :3

The really sad thing for me is that the program I'm drawing in doesn't have either a line tool or an ellipse tool (that isn't filled with color)! I have an unsteady hand and so I'm forced to draw lines over and over and over again to get them straight or to get a good curve. T__T

Thank you so much! I am planning on doing more variation in the line work, but I decided to hold off until I got the whole thing down before getting into those kinds of details.

I saw your ship--it looked amazing! And I was surprised when I saw it. I hadn't even thought of the bow of a ship.

No--Paint has those things! D= I'm using Open Canvas 4.5.09 and I have no idea why it doesn't have such basic tools! My other version had them.

BTW, if anyone here has this version of OC and knows where these tools might be hidden, please tell me!

Actually, at first I tried to use Paint to get all of the straight lines down, but it just looked too different from the lines I was using so it wouldn't work.

drakokatze- Well, even if you don't finish, I think your motorcycle looks fantastic! The highlights you made so far look really good and realistic.

Hey Latina : ) To answer your question unless your commission art is related to the daily theme it cannot count towards the event. And you don't have to do a fully coloured drawing with perfect line art. Sketchs are fine, so long as they were drawn the same day as the daily theme and were done in the min of 30 min requested. Hope this helps to clarify.

Siafoam

all I had time for today was a 2 minute sketch razz

hello : ) I know time may be tight sometimes, but if you can, try to do a half hour effort for the daily sketchs. Or maybe draw a couple sketchs over a half hour spand or something. Just so you get your daily limit done, kk : ) lovely igloo btw

Nikkic87

With the amount of details you got into your pic... yes... yes I can believe it took you all day. It looks kick a** though : )

romesilk

There are quite a few themes like that, but there all spaced out through out the event, to help balance out the themes in a long term bases. So basicaly we don't have all the good ones at the start to keep interest through out the event. But I will look at some of the themes see if theres some changes we can do to some of them : 3

lol I can sympathize. I've done the same today with a train, which I've also never drawn before.

Which reminds me, I didn't post my reference picture. Here it is.

Kai_Chi- Thank you very much! ^o^
~

I've seen some people say none of the themes interested them. Sometimes there are days where no theme really interests me at first, either. But the thing is, I get totally inspired by seeing everyone else's interpretations. It gets me motivated and gets my own brain working and suddenly I really want to get to work. I love it! I'm having so much fun with this challenge! <3

One of my oldest ideas for a picture that I'm still interested in doing involves a motorcycle. I even took some pictures of a parked bike for reference. Now you're scaring me. gonk

(I figure other people do that? Get ideas for pictures they want to draw and then file them away and most never get drawn, but some are old favorites and you really want to get to them eventually?)

Imalyose
art request okay so I took 30 min to do the lines and flat colors. then like 40 min trying to decide on a background. and then I decided not to do the background, oh the irony.

I did flat colors only, and changed the horns and bangles -er braceletts. I'd do the sparkles and make the hair blonder and add shading, but since i'm not going to get paid for it, and I never get paid for the freebies I do (I've never been paid for my art), I'm starting to get a bit annoyed that I spend hours of my time on freebies. 30 minutes is a good base amount. honestly I can't believe how little time it took me to draw this.

If I am missing anything big tell me. I'll add it.

Great for valentines day. if you want on v-day pm me for customized v-day cards with her as the center. SAVE IT ON YOUR OWN COMPUTER OR PHOTOBUCKET.

was going for a holli would kinda body- hence the huge ribcage, dunno if I got the shape right for this position

CRITS APPRECIATED

YEY!!! Art : D !!! Thank you so much !!!!
Because you made me some awesome art, and you asked for cretics + I have time!!! I shall cretic you >: 3 muhahahaha.

Overall very nice drawing : ) the posing is very dynamic and sentual, just how I wanted it, and you got it with out me saying it as well XD Extra brownie points for you!!!. I really like the modified horns you gave her, and making her hair fall down instead of flying upwards makes it super sexy ; D.

The primairy problem with your drawing however are your preportions and some body placement with the pose. : 3

The torso for one, in a pose like that woudn't turn so much, I understand what you were trying to do, make the twist in the body so it makes for a more interesting posing. However if the body were to pose like that it would be very uncomfortable XD hehe. So I made a sketch seen below to show you how I think the torso would be placed.

User Image

Now this pose, however amazing as it is, is not easy to draw. specially for the leg placement. (I had to redraw it about 3-4 times before I got it, and I still don't think my leg placement is 100% correct neither emotion_facepalm . What makes it hard is you have several elements you need to keep into consideration. The leg ontop of the other legs muscles will *mold* sorry coun't think of the right word here to place itself comfortably ontop of the other leg. All while having different angles of persective at the same time. Its not an easy one. But you did a really good job with the hip placement. that looked well done. And accentuating the curves on a womans body is what makes them so interesting and beautifull to look at. So again really nice job : )

For preportions, I'm mainly gonna point out the head which looks a little squashed in (probably because we don't feel her neck) But also because it looks like there needs to be a bit more hair/head in the back of her head to be more preportioned.

Her feet could be a little better as well, but again, its a tuff position to draw so its not as obvious.

And last thing would be the bottom leg placement. If you look at were her hips connect to her legs it looks a little disconected. A nice curved line to merge the two together would help, and if you broght her front leg more towards us, like in my example we would feel like its more part of the body.

But again, love how you explored the character and tried new things with her, I think it was really creative and turned out very nice. Just a few little things, but given the complexity of the pose its understandable : )

Very nice work, and thank you once again for doing my avi request!!! ^o^
