@ Jiujutsu Duels:
Kuni Raicho would stand over Zanzen, looking down at him briefly to see he wasn't getting back up. She would turn her gaze to Denbe, nodding. "Ujina Denbe wins the second match. Kakita Zanzen, do you wish to engage your opponent in a third match?"
If he was to accept, Zanzen would start at 5 damage from the first match + 7 damage from the second = 12, or maxed out on Grazed.

@ Scorpion Shenanigans:
Naizen would lift his hand to his masked chin, looking thoughful. "What makes you think that what she might have seen is of value? It could have been something as irrelevant as a bloodspeaker ritual or an oni tearing apart some villagers." He paused, before looking over at Kojiro with a raised eyebrow. "How did she react towards you?"
To Kojiro's question, Naizen would shake his head. "I've been trying to figure out a good vantage point to observe the Lore competition at this point. Unless you're willing to climb through an unused attic with me, though, I'd rather go alone."

@ Jiujutsu Duels:
Once back into it, he shook his head, partially to clear it. "There is no reason for me to continue. I cannot defend against his feet and try to fight back. I will have to respectfully decline a 3rd match."
Struggling off the field, he made his way back to the Crane tent, asking a servant to bring him some tea and food, and seeing if a healer could come attend to his ribs.

@Scorpion Shenanigans
"Instinct. It sounded like someone of great authority or trust to her betrayed her badly. Sayoko-chan might be lashing out at those who hold similar post."
Kojiro would shrug. "It may be because she perceived Yoritomo-san as less a threat than I, although he did seem more menacing at times."
As to Naizen's final suggestion, Kojiro would shake his head. "Your talents are not mine. I would merely draw attention to you. I wish you luck, Naizen-san."

Something about that response bothered Denbe, but he supposed he had not taken his loss to the Crane well either. He'd been aiming to use this to get over it after all, which at least seemed a success. None the less, he was polite.
"I understand. Thank you for the good fight. Your opening blows are something to behold."

@ Jiujutsu Duels Finale:Kuni Raicho would nod in acceptance to the Kakita's wishes. "Kakita Zanzen declines the third match. This makes him the runner up for the contest after an admirable effort. However, the martial training of the Hare has won Ujina Denbe the contest. Congratulations to him for his victory here today."There would be applauds for the victors of this competition from all the samurai who had gathered to watch, and Raicho would be practically beaming proudly... if she didn't look so angry all the time, that is. Kakita Zanzen - 1 point of Glory for competing in the Jiujutsu Duels. 1 point of Honor for showing sincere courtesy to your rivals. 1 point of Honor for acknowledging a superior opponent. Ujina Denbe - 1 point of Glory for competing in the Jiujutsu Duels. 1 point of Glory for winning the Jiujutsu Duels. 1 point of Honor for showing sincere courtesy to your rivals. Also: Since it is no mystery at this point, I can reward them now. Anyone who competed in this competition gains 1 experience point which, like the one from the previous day, can be spent in any fashion of your choosing, if you decide not to bank it. Your expenditure will take effect starting the following morning. Please inform the GM of any expenditures.((XP expenditures will not take effect until the following morning)) -------------------- However, before Denbe could vacate, the magistrate would stop him. "You've shown yourself an adequate warrior in the skill of unarmed combat. Would you like the opportunity to see how you measure up to a magistrate, Denbe-san?"A NEW CHALLENGER APPROACHES

Denbe bowed politely to the applause, trying not to beam too hard. After his initial disappointment he'd felt much more sure that he was doing his clan justice in the past two days. He hadn't precisely been keeping close count of whom was leading, nor was today over yet, but he knew this set the Hare well above the other minor clans, at least.
Which was what had been going through his head up until Raicho made her offer and forgot that he had been thinking at all.
"A match?" Denbe asked, taken aback, and quickly tried to recover himself.
"I mean. I don't believe I will pose much rival, Kuni-sama, but if you wish to then I would be most honored."
He bowed, surprise at the offer giving way to a mental image of her clocking the Unicorn's lights out in one swing.

Kuni Raicho takes position opposite of Denbe (once he was recovered, of course), dropping her satchel to the side. However, she would remain heavily robed, unbecoming of an unarmed fighter.

Denbe smiled at the praise, and adopted a readied stance as they both took the field, looking at the magistrate across the way and trying to discern something. Loose and volumous as her clothing was, however, he had only her stance and the single strike earlier to work off of. She was, however, a Crab, and certainly formidable to oversee the competition.
So he supposed he'd treat it like fighting Hogai-san. He just had to dismiss any misgivings about striking a magistrate; if she had wanted special treatment she would not have requested the match, and holding back would only be an insult.
With a sharp cry, Denbe took off, launching himself into a flying roundhouse kick.

@ Jiujutsu Redux:
Denbe would rush the Magistrate, leaping off of the ground while kicking up a good deal of dust. He would spin and slam his foot into the side of the woman's face!
... and she would not budge. Turning back, she would smile broadly at the Hare. "Excellent. I can see how a blow like that could injure a lesser samurai. You Hares are something." {17 damage. Raicho is still Healthy.}
She would rear back with her right fist, and time would seem to slow down for Denbe. Further, further back it would draw, seemingly impossibly so. As it reached the apex of its pull, it would begin to rocket forward, Denbe's arms moving so sluggishly, so slowly, struggling to get them up in time to block...
{52 vs TN 10, hit.}
{36 damage; Denbe is Out!}
After the fierce, thundering punch to the face Denbe would corkscrew several times in the air before thudding on the ground, still. The last thing he would see before unconsciousness would be the winces faces of all his fellow Bushi.
Shaking her hand, she would look down at the Hare. "I know you can't hear me, but we'll do this again when you've trained your body to be less fragile. Congratulations on your victory today, Ujina Denbe. You just earned it." Raicho would then bow to the prone Hare, before turning and walking away, leaving him face down in the dirt.

@ Lore Competition:All Weapon Lore skills are now TN 10!Shinjo Gemmei would wait for her turn to come around, before she would stand up, rather than speak of lore. "I apologize, Kita-sama, but the health and well-being of Asako Sumi is quite trying on my mind, and I find myself unable to concentrate. May I be excused so I can help tend to her?"Doji Kita would nod without any hesitation. "I am sure she is in capable hands, but if you are unable to continue, then I see no reason why not. Thank you for your contributions tonight, Gemmei-san."Smiling, the Shinjo woman would bow deeply to Kita, then to the rest of you, before vacating. {Theology roll of 14 vs TN 20} After the Unicorn had left, Kita would speak up. "We are down to a third of our original number. I ask all of you not to let prior distractions cloud your mind. Let us continue, for we are nearing the end of the competition."Scratching her cheek, Wazuka sweated a bit nervously. "I guess that means the pressure's on me," she commented aside, feeling her end was nigh. She would frown though, alerting the rest of you to her fate. {Lore: Law roll of 27 vs TN 30. So close!} "I think this is it. I can't compete any more either, my brain is mush. Good luck to the rest of you!" she would chirp somewhat cheerfully, trying to force the frown away. She would stand, and bow once quickly before vacating after Gemmei. Matsu Seichiro, you're up!

"Cavalry is important in battle. They're swift, and able to break through enemy lines. It's very hard to defend against cavalry, and many wars have been won because of a well-thought cavalry charge. The combination of the Spear and the horse means that at that speed, the spear will go through even the most sturdy armor, like a katana through rice paper. However, there is a problem with cavalry charges: spears tend to break. So sometimes, after a charge, they're vulnerable for that period of time, and by the time they draw their katana, they might get surrounded. So, usually after a cavalry charge, sending the first wave of soldiers as quick as possible is vital."

@ Lore Competition:All Battle skills are now TN 30!"For my next bit of lore, I wish to turn back to spirituality for a moment. As a monk, I follow a sect that closely adhere to the teachings of Shinsei, known as Shintao. To enlighten our minds, and eventually, our spirits, we attempt to understand the words the wisest man in the history of Rokugan shared with the greatest kami of them all. Prior to the First Day of Thunder, Shinsei the monk met privately with Hantei, sharing his wisdom with him, which were recorded diligently by Shiba. These snippets of wisdom have formed the basis of all Shintao studies." {Theology (Shintao) roll of 36 vs TN 20!} All Theology skills are now TN 25!Kaiu Kagae, Matsu Seichiro, you're up!
