My Sousaphone very recently broke on me.
It's fixed, but I'll tell you what happened.

During the first band review we had [Santa Cruz]
We step off, and I notice my whole Sousaphone feels loose.
I noticed the bracings on the bottom of it were only it was only held by one.
I also noticed it took a lot more air to push through.
Right in front of the judges stand in the trio, my Sousaphone just broke apart, it was only held by one brace and my arm. I had to stop playing, because the sound was not only come through a small tube, my Tuba was going to be in three pieces.

It's fixed now, but yeah.

I've dropped my clarinet so many times. During the past three years, I've repaired it about twice every year. My friend dropped her french horn and the bell went flat.

One time I broke one of my springs in my flute, and I'm having a lot of trouble with one of my keys because it constantly falls out and I have to replace it. stressed

Ok it is around October and I'm in eighth grade and I have to sit next to this one a** that I hate(thankfully he moved so I dont have to deal with him anymore). On this fateful day I had a really good reason to be pissed at him though cause he caused a major disaster. He had his horn stand up with the bell on the seat of the chair(remember we are trombone players) and I have mine laying down under my chair(usually a safe place cause it cant fall off the chair) well I'm getting a stand out of the enseble room and getting a drink. While I do this he gets his horn to do what I said he did and then he leaves to go do something and he has not checked to make sure that his horn is properly balanced and won't fall. After he's gone I start walking towards my seat and see his horn fall on top of mine. I run through the chairs to get to my horn and see some serious damage done cause I now have a really huge dent in the bell of my horn. When I see it I'm thinking oh s**t my dad is gonna kill me and then we check his horn and it is without a scratch. I'm fixing to start crying cause it was a brand new horn that I had just gotten over the summer and had an f attachment(only one in junior high) so I was of course proud of it and loved it. He doesn't seem as remorseful as I believed he should be considering the fact that you could see the dent from across the band hall.

However the story doesn't end there(unfortunatly for my horn) this all happens again a month later. I hadn't gotten it fixed yet so I still had the first dent as a reminder of how much I hate him and why he should put his horn under his chair. The same spot gets hit and his is again without a scratch let alone dent and mine now has two really big dents in the bell actually forming into three cause of how it landed and like I said it hit the same spot. I am of course even more pissed off at him cause as stated above I love my horn and was proud of it. He still doesn't seem that upset to have caused so much damage to my horn. It is now really obvious to people that my horn as been royally screwed and I wanted revenge on him so bad. I wanted to take a slegehammer to his horn. Cause it cost a couple hundred to get it fixed and they didn't even do a good job fixing it cause you can still see where it happened and it is kinda of a wrinkly dent there. So I have to get a repair job for a repair job.

That is the only major damage my trombone has gotten and I will probably never get over that cause he didn't even seem sorry about it when it happened. He may have kept trying to apologize but it never was sincere especially not enough to cover that amount of damage to my horn and the fact that it happened TWICE!!

totallyticked

Once I dropped my flute onto the concrete. The sticky-outty-Aflat key bent around, and it actually IMPROVED the sound sweatdrop

now this is funny. I was at band camp once, and my cairinet almost fell out the window (who knows why it was open) but I caught it in the nick of time. then another kids trombone almost got stepped on but i ran over and picked it up. And my clarinet? YEAH. ON THE WINDOW SILL. *teeter teeter CARASH* right diwn two flores and into someones trumpet case. haha... the good thing was all that broke was my mouthpiece, split in two. crying
and then there was the time i used my clarinet as a bo-staff..... sweatdrop

now this wasnt our band cuz if it would have been it would have been my worst nightmare come true...

one day in december we went to a marching band competition (im not in marching band yet) and of course were class 1A along with this other small band..well this band imparticularly decides they are going to do something complicated...im in the stands watching them...at the time there doing really well..then eek oooh..there goes a baritone...some actually dropped their baritone the whole marching band (ours) started laughing..then get this the same band has a tenor sax player (would have been my worst nightmare if it was me) tries to hit a high note...SQUEAK...oh i couldnt believe it and i swear i think the judges felt so sorry for them that they just gave it to them because we didnt do anything like that and they still beat us in all 3 categories..it sucked since they dropped like 4 or 5 five of their instruments and squeaked and we didnt even drop a flag..i was pisssed so i bugged our BD all the way home (3 hours)..i was texitng him so he fianally calls my cell phone and the whole band starts laughing...he didnt know it was me until we got home..

I've...Accidently stepped on a trumpet... gonk

Not my trumpet, though.
My friend's trumpet.
The bell was all...caved in and stuff.
I had tripped and hadn't realized I had until I really thought about it.
And I could have gotten away with it...
But in the end, I went into my band directors office and told her the truth.
I hadn't meant to and I was crying.
I felt so bad. :'[
Anyways, I ended up having the tell the person and he was actually happy about it because it would mean that he would be getting his new silver trumpet early. xd
( But my parents ended up paying for the broken one anyways. x3 )
