Wow, that sailor dress looks like it was a lot of work. You've done a really nice job with those dresses.

PearlZenith Wow, that sailor dress looks like it was a lot of work. You've done a really nice job with those dresses. When I started the sailor dress I though it was going to be a pain but it turned out to be easier to make than my gothic lolita one because it didn't require a lot of lace and detailing. I hoping to finish the other ones I'm working on soon so I can wear them for Jacon.

The sailor dress looks so finished, because of the black detailing you did add, though. I usually use rufles in the place of lace, but it's no less work than lace is, and sometimes a lot more. I can't wait to finish the two dresses I'm currently working on so I can start my next two. I like working on two at a time, since it give me things to go between without being overwhelming. I have all the fabric, some bought, some given to me by my friend's mom, but I think I need to go buy trim. It's nice to not have to buy fabric for a good few months, since it helps me hold onto my money better. sweatdrop

It's not strictly lolita, but it does make me think of country lolita stuff.

Actually, I used fabric scraps, and cut them into strips. This week has been exhausting, so I forgot to upload the pictures, but I'll try to do that by tonight. I might even post a pic of a doily I'm in progress of knitting. ^___^

My dress~~ And my headband... The dress looks a lot better when I'm actually in it filling it out... damn elastic makes it look funny on the hanger.. And I tie a black ribbon around the waist. And the headband is two-sided... I didn't intend on it originally, but at I was sewing on the lace on the bottom side, I looked at it and decided I liked that side a lot too. XD I wear it both ways, depending on what I'm wearing with it.

Finished this today. biggrin I'm actually a bit smaller than my dress form, particularly in the bust, so it looks a little weird on there. It is: Fully lined and serged, with an invisible zipper through the two layers of fabric on one side. The bows have pin-backs, so you can take them off, and there is a layer of lightweight interfacing between the hand-gathered bust portion and the lining of the bust. There are also fabric loops on the back for lacing. Detail 01Detail 02Quick snap of it being worn <-- Taken at the end of an evening of wearing it, including to my Border Collie's "graduation" from training class, hence the wrinkling and lack of blouse. A couple parts were altered from other patterns that I had put together, and the rest was drafted from scratch.

Cryrin, that looks very nice. I think red suits you quite well. Tah ku, I uploaded the pictures to my livejournal, but forgot to post them here. I'm nearly done knitting the doily, and look forward to washing and starching it.
