(( @Jenny: That's better than what you had been writing, but it could still be a little better. I understand that you're tired so don't think I'm irritated or anything. I was just giving you a heads up. ))
"So, where to start... Where to start..." Arianna wondered aloud, her hands propped on her hips. It was a tiny little town. She hadn't even known it existed before now. Then again, she never knew much about anywhere that wasn't her home town for most of her life. So that didn't count. "I mean, honestly. How hard could it be?" She'd been told that his name was Senn. It was an odd name, so she was sure he would be the only one here with it. The difficult part of it was that she was feeling particularly lazy at the moment, and didn't want to search all that hard. But she had to. She had no choice. What a pain.
As an added bonus it was daytime. Even more of a pain. But at least it was cloudy outside.
No one was lingering to chat with anyone else. They were heading as quickly as they could to their destinations, huddled up in their scarves and coats to protect themelves from the cold. In fact, Arianna figured that she was the only one that wasn't suffering because of the temperatures. She actually thought it was fairly pleasant.
She started off in the general direction that she somehow knew that she should. I wonder how many others were assigned to this town. She thought as she turned into an alley. She wanted to get away from the crowd.
((This post would have been longer, but I'm so darned sleepy. Can't think straight...))

[[It's alright. I'm just glad for something to do finally. xD]]
It was a haze of swirling colors that the young man saw before his eyes. It'd only been a few minutes since the cuts were made, but already his body was nearly entirely framed by the pool of blood surrounding him. A light smile creased his lips as he saw visions, fleeting fantasies of his mother still alive, and a make-believe father from his dreams. They swirled around him, comforting and gentle. Everything he never had.
Senn's arm raised up slowly, reaching for his parents, arm straight up towards the ceiling, crimson liquid spilling down to run across his tranquil facial features. He seemed happy, as if everything was going to be okay for once. The long 'x''s on his arms continued to bleed freely, leeking onto the floor and across the wooden slats of the hut. The liquid seeped into the wood, running along cracks, spreading throughout the small house. All the while, the youth lay silently, longing to meet the parents that he'd never gotten to know.

Is that... blood? Arianna squinted in the direction she smelled it coming from. A lot of it, too. She frowned. That wasn't good. Cursing silently to herself, she hurried off to find the sorce of the stench. It didn't take long to do because she wasn't too far off in the first place. Reaching out to push the creaky door open, she was suprised to see such a beat up looking room. Was this supposed to be a house?
Someone was laying inside, surrounded by a pool of blood. She shut the door quietly behind her so as not to disturb him. He was too deep in thought. This must be him. She thought as she hurried forward. "What exactly do you think you're doing?" Asked Ari calmly as she pulled her bag off of her shoulder. She had long strips of bandages inside, as she always did. Getting in frequent fights where your life in on the line teaches a person to bring them everywhere. "You could die, you know. And I can't have that. Now let me see your arms."

[[Actually, he's laying in a pool of blood. =P]]
Senn blinked, looking up to where his mother's face had been only a moment before. His vision cleared slightly for a moment, the face of a quite lovely young woman coming into perspective. Trying to speak, the young man strained his lungs, trying desperately to say something, but to no avail. Eyes beginning to unfocus as his blood continued to seep out slowly, a flicker of a pained smile quirked up the youth's lips.
In his own mind, he found it humorous that someone was actually trying to help. In the town as it was, no one helped him, and no one cared. He was considered filth not worthy of even speaking to, wandering the streets without a parent or proper house. Outwardly, Senn pretended not to care, ignoring the glares and dirty looks from people. Yet, inwardly, the young man was alone. Completely and totally so. He wished someone would reach out to him, as he'd reached out for too long already. He wished for death, and for once, he thought he'd done it right.

The smell of alcohol was unmistakable. Victor leaned in to Amber and said, "So this is the fun that you would have been missing if you had not left school. Interesting." Victor said, as he stood up straight again. "I may as well introduce myself to some of your friends." Most of whom are drunk. Victor said, as he looked around. He walked into the living room which seemed to be the hub of the drinking activities, and peered down on a group that were playing a drinking game. Basically take as many shots as possible before passing out. Fun. Victor looked down in disinterest at the group of young people indulging themselves way too much.
Victor saw the woman that had answered the door, thinking it was a good place to start getting to know Amber's 'friends'. Walking over he held out his hand. "Victor, nice to meet you, Renee." Victor said, holding out a hand.
"Nice to meet you too, Vic. How'd you know my name?" Renee said, shaking the hand rather heartily.
Vic? Victor raised an eyebrow for a moment, but shook it off. "Oh, I heard your name being called at the front door. I just remembered who you were, that's all.' Victor said, non-chalantly. Well, she appears not to be too hammered, but looks can be deceiving. Victor carried on a conversation with Renee, one that he only half-paid attention to. What he was really trying to watch was what Amber was doing.

(( Alright. I must've misread then. I had been tired. >.> Anyway, I edited my last post. ))
"It looks like I have my work cut out for me." Arianna murmured to herself in mild irritation. She wasn't referring to treating his injuries. She had been talking about her job in general. "No wonder they assigned me to this one." She removed the bandages and medicines from her bag as she knelt down on the floor beside him. She worked quickly; cleaning the wounds, applying medicine to keep them from getting infected, and then wrapping bandages around his arms. "There, you should be fine, now. Just don't move around too much." Standing up, she looked around the little room for something he could lay on other than the floor. There was nothing. "Ok, note to self: Improve living conditions."
Amber did not reply to him. She recognised the note of sarcasm in his voice, and silently agreed. If it weren't for the alcohol, the smokers, skipping school, and having the party while the host's parents were away, she might have been able to enjoy herself. As she stood there, trying to figure out what to do to keep her mind off things, a few others she knew came bouncing merrily up to greet her. None of the three were too drunk and one of them was smoking.
"Hey there, Amber! Who's your friend?" The first one asked, smiling at the back of his head. "Yeah, introduce us, why don't you?" The smoking one agreed, already making her way over. Renee noticed them and immediately started introducing everyone before Amber got the chance to say anything. She hadn't even been able to tell them that Victor wasn't her friend because she had just met him. Sighing, she walked halfway across the room to where Brenda and Zack were standing. They were really the only people that she truely got along with. They were usually dragged along places just like she was. The three started chatting about midterms and what they figured would be on the tests.

Blinking dazedly as she mentioned her 'assigning' to him, Senn finally let out a groan. 'Great...Now I get my own Vampire pet...' he thought groggily, attempting to move. He flinched, the major bloodloss getting to him as he arched his back in pain. The young man raised a hand slowly, blood staining his arm and hand. Dragging his fingers across his seemingly tired face, he sighed, blood now smeared across it.
Finally managing to rasp out a sentance, he took a shaky breath, eyes closed on account of dizzyness. "Who...Are you?" It was all he could think to ask. The only person to ever enter his 'house' was himself, or kids playing Truth or Dare. Shaking his head in attempt to clear his mind, Senn flinched yet again, a splitting headache erupting in his temples. "I think I'd be in less pain if you'd just left me here..." came his whispered, hoarse voice.

"Oh, so you already know, then? That will save some needless explanations, then. Excellent." Looking satisfied, she stepped back over to him. "My name is Arianna Hellswik, but you can call me Ari, for short. It's easier to remember." She knelt down beside him again to sit on her heels, her arms crossed on her lap. "Well, that's your own fault, isn't it? I had to help you, or it'd be pretty bad for me. Which reminds me... I'll be taking this so you, hopefully, won't cut yourself anymore." She reached to pick up the bloodied silver dagger laying on the floor then stashing it in her belt. "You can get it back once I can trust you with it." Arianna smiled down at him.

"So, you a friend of Ambers? I've never seen you before." The smoking woman asked. She seemed to be high as well as slightly drunk, or at least that's how Victor saw it.
"I guess you could say that I am more of an acquaintance than a friend." Victor said, as he peered over the woman, watching what Amber was doing. It seems like she is associating with people that she is more comfortable around. This riff-raff that she calls her friends don't seem to friendly to her. Victor thought, his attention turning back to the woman infront of him, who was rambling on un-intelligently.
"Excuse me." Victor bluntly said, as he pushed his way past her, walking over to Amber. "So, Amber. These people you have met before, I presume?" Victor said, looking to Amber. "So, who do I have the pleasure of meeting?" Victor said, looking to Amber's friends.

The girls looked slightly disappointed as Victor walked off, but they recovered and went off to find other people to annoy.
Amber was a little startled when Victor practically appeared at her side. She smiled to hide it and nodded. "Yes, this is Brenda and that's Zack. I've known them all my life." Brenda waved and smiled, while Zack only nodded his head once in greeting. "And this is Victor. I, er, haven't known him all that long." Added Amber in response to their quizzical looks.

Without thinking, Senn's arm shot up to latch firmly onto Arianna's wrist, eyes still only half-open. "I didn't call you my pet, I thought it. I'd appreciate you staying out of my head." he said, slightly annoyed. "And that knife is mine and mine alone. I've had it for years as a gift from my mother, and I'm not about to hand it over to you." His strength seemed to come back for a moment as he raised his head, glazed eyes glistening slightly in the faint light. "You'll give that back now, thank you." It wasn't a question, it was a curt statement.
Moving his other arm, pain eminent on his facial features, Senn planted his hand on the ground, pushing his body up with yet another flinch. All the while, he held onto Ari's wrist in a sort of death-grip, refusing to let go until his knife was safely back with him. "I promise that taking that won't help, anyway..."

"Nice to meet you both." Victor said, with a short nod. "I am a distant cousin of Amber, and we have never met before today. I was in town, so I thought I'd visit her just to meet another family member." Victor added with a small smile. Just play along, Amber, and things should work out. Victor thought.
He glanced behind Amber's friends, to see someone keel over and pass out. He knew what had happened. "He's got too much alcohol in her blood." Victor said, as he looked past Amber's friends. He looked to Amber. "See if you can find some blankets..." Victor said, as his voice was cut off by the sound of someone puking. "And a bucket." he added, as he walked over to the person, who was still passed out. He turned him over o nhis side with ease, ensuring that the person would not drown in their own vomit. He had heard of deaths happening in this bizarre way. He looked up to a group of onlookers who stared dow nat the man, their noses upturning at the stench of the vomit. "One of you call an ambulance, or your friend might just very well die. He needs his stomach pumped, and I doubt than anyone here knows how to do that. I know I don't." Victor said, as one person reluctantly headed to the kitchen and grabbed the phone.
"Man! Don't!" Called out Ricky, stopping the man from phoning the paramedics. "If you make that phone call, some of us will be arrested." Ricky said, as he approached the man with the phone, and took it from him, putting it back in its holder.
It wasn't long until Ricky had put himself in an unfavourable position. He was almost being lifted off the ground by Victor, who was a few inches taller than he was, and apparently alot stronger. "You..." Victor said, his teeth gritting. "You would rather let your buddy die than get busted?" Victor asked, his eyes and his tone hard and cold as ice.

(( Sorry about that. I misread. I'll go and change my other post. I didn't realize that he'd thought it. ))
Arianna was a very stubborn person. Once she'd decided something, she stuck to it. It would take a lot to change her mind. With her free hand, she slowly reached to take the knife out of her belt to examine it for a long while before glancing over at Senn. "You can have it back, but only because it was a gift from your mother, alright?" She held it out for him to take. "You will have to do something about cutting yourself, though."
Several people hurried out the front door as someone dialed for an ambulance. Amber had found a few blankets and a bucket, which she handed to the person who had been puking. They stopped long enough to put their head over the bucket then resumed. She turned in time to see Victor holding Ricky by this shirt collar.
"Hey, man, let me go! What the hell do you think you're doing?" Ricky grabbed Victor's wrists and tried to pry him off. Renee ran up to the two of them to beg Victor to let him go.
"Victor, don't hurt him!" Amber chimed in, dodging around a couple people who were dashing out the door. "It isn't worth it." Outside, the paramedics and the police were arriving. To avoid being seen, people were now escaping through the backyard.

Ungripping his hand and taking the bloodied knife slowly, Senn gave her a blank stare of a look. "Honestly," he said as he thrust the knife behind his belt once again, flinching a few times from the pain in his arms. "Would you stop if some person you'd never met asked it of you?" His blank stare turned to a wry smirk as he struggled to raise himself, weakened limbs not able to hold his weight as he collapsed back down to a propped-up position. "And would you mind so much helping me up to one of these chairs? It would be much appreaciated."

Victor looked toAmber, his eyes flashing in anger, before slowly softening. He looked back to Ricky. "If you pull a stunt like that again, and I hear about it... It won't be good for you, my friend." Victor said, his tone still cold, as he released his grip on Ricky, watching as he fell onto his backside.
He turned to Amber. "I wasn't going to hurt him. Just teach him a lesson." he said, his voice flat. He walked past her, and around the guy on the floor, who was being attended to by the paramedics. "Let's go, Amber. Lest you want to stay here." he said, over the noise of the sirens as he walked through the living room and out the front door. He was stopped by the police who made him take a breathalizer. As he was passed on by the officers, Victor turned, wondering if Amber would follow him out the front, or escape out the back like others did.
