"Sweetling" is used in a novel series by Mercedes Lackey called the Herald Mage Series. In it, the main character is Vanyel, who is called sweetling by his wingbrothers. Kinda hard to explain unless you've read the books. ><;
But I highly recommend them. =D

That reminds me of a movie I saw where this uber Christian girl was trying to "save" this gay guy by making him un-gay. So she had sex with him and she's in like.. high school? Yeah. Anyways she ended up getting pregnant and havin' un bebeh. Ha ha, it was a funny movie..
