Tilting the canteen up and away from Messiah's lips, Gabriel capped it deftly, setting it beside the tree trunk as he sunk back into a cross-legged position. "Please excuse the idiocy of the soldiers. All they know how to do is eat, sleep, and fight; in my opinion, at least." Waving a vague hand at the swaying tent flap, he shook his head again. "The title of 'Special Forces' merely means that they're a bit more adept at killing, and that's about it. Still no brains to call their own, though." he added with a small smirk.

Gabriel watched his captive's eyes as she looked at him in a curious manner, tilting his head to the side slightly with his own curiosity. His mind reflected back to his former prisoner; the only other he'd ever taken. 'Well, let's hope the others don't decide to get restless and take out their anger on a helpless prisoner again.' he thought slowly. A flicker of a smile played across his lips as he thought, almost joyously, at what he'd done to the one's who'd killed Jezra.

Blinking his eyes out of a glazed daydream, the dead blue spheres continued their study of Messiah. Gabriel only took interest in those who could effectively draw his own blood, since that feat was only accomplished once every few decades. 'And to think...This sixteen-year-old girl managed such a deep gash in my shoulder, as well as the marks on my face.' He raised a hand, running his pale fingers down the side of his face where Messiah had clawed him. The marks were completely gone now, leaving his smooth skin as flawless as it had been before. As for the deep cut in his shoulder, the skin let off a small wisp of steam, as it had been for quite some time. Just visible through his heavy coat was a bloody cut, half as large as it had been an hour before.

[[Well, I just got back for the first time in a week, so no trouble here. x.x
And Deo, my character sorta heals automatically, being Vampyr and all.
Though it's slow, Gabriel wouldn't think of it, so mayhaps Sithe will get bored enough to take you captive.

((Well, I figured that there's no point for Avio to be in the village, so off he goes >.>. I'll simulate the time that it's already been since he decided to leave.))

Approaching the encampment that he knew only too well, Avio pondered silently to himself upon issues that have been long gone. Stuck in the past, a relentless dreamworld full of nightmares, loss, gain, vengaence, hatred, betrayal, and many other worldly emotions, Avio has come to realize what his life is, and always has, meant to the world. The trip to the village made him think of how his parents were...normal at one time. How they used to live in the village and prosper gracefully untill the 'Seperation' as it was called. These thoughts invaded Avio's mind like hail of sharpened arrows, piercing his innermost concentration upon anything else.

"Th-there's...nothing...Nothing at all!" he suddenly screamed out as if someone was actually there, "There's been nothing to this life that I've had. Nothing at all! It's been a useless waste of life force that our gods have graciously bestowed upon us." Indeed, now that Avio has seen what his parents, both whom had already passed away, were talking about when they were speaking of the village and how it used to be their haven for any activities that they'd want to do as well as the peace that had been kept because of its secluded location. "Why does this happen...WHY!?" he screamed out again, walking past the tent of the person that about everyone in the village had come go fear for one reason or another. Avio didn't really care to pay attention to where he was because the thoughts invading his head were that emotionally disturbing, but if he was indeed paying attention, he would have realized to be as quiet as possible as to not to disturb the occupant of the tent, Gabriel.

Sithe looked up as he heard Avio's voice. He took the cigar out of his mouth, and puffed some smoke out of one corner of his mouth. Putting the cigar back in, he shrugged, deciding that it was better that he was left to his own devices at the moment. Either he has gone crazy, or... no, he has probably gone crazy. Site thought as he watched Avio pass on by. Well, I'd better go rally the troops and give 'em some good training before tommorow. Sithe thought as he got up, and walked in the direction of his team.

((it seems like his relations with Gabriel won't be improving. Hehe, oh well, it's always nice to be able to bicker with another character. XP ))

"I see. How unfortunate.. It seems that it doesn't matter whether I'm in the village or the forest, their type is always somewhere near by." Those who lacked a decent level of intelligence always did manage to get to her. Perhaps it was unfair to be so impatient with those who didn't meet of to her standards, but Messiah simply couldn't help it. Though she was loyal to the village- Or at least as loyal as someone can make Messiah be, she often preferred her solitude around the others. Not many were fond of her, for obvious reasons, though the feeling was quite mutual.

Blue eyes flickered as she let her gaze trail to the damage she had done, disappointment evident when she noticed that the marks from her nails had already healed and the gash on his shoulder was recovering as well. The sixteen-year-old was satisfied that she had managed to harm him, but nod doubt would have liked the wounds to last. Those scars would have been the proof that she had put up quite the fight and that Gabriel hadn't walked away unscathed. She was certainly a prideful girl, which could have very well been a hazardous trait, and having the evidence of her proficiency wasn't settling well with her. "You really do heal far too quickly.." She muttered, ignoring her own state. Though her cuts had finally stopped bleeding, they still hurt like hell and she was well aware that she probably looked as if she had barely made it out of a brawl.

The sound of yelling reached her ears, causing a smirk to linger on her lips. So not only were some of the clan members the 'bronze before brains type,' but also mentally insane? Whoever the man who was causing the commotion was, Messiah couldn't help but think that he had finally snapped, or something along those lines.

Gabriel merely nodded at her statement, following her eyes to his shoulder curiously. He gave a wry smirk as she mentioned his healing speed, running his fingers through his hair before he responded. "Just another perk of being what I am, I suppose." he said quietly, distracedly running his other hand along his shoulder. "It should be healed by morning. It was a deep cut." The look he gave Messiah as he spoke was one of slight recognition, knowing full well that not many alive could ever do that much damage to him.

Blinking as if coming out of a trance, Gabriel surveyed Messiah once again, this time looking at her wounds. "I seem to have neglected your wounds, haven't I?" he said calmly, rising to his feet slowly as he spoke. "I appologise; I'm not exaclty used to caring for wounds, 'specially for any other person besides myself." He smirked dryly as he turned to a small chest, flipping the top open and rumaging through it for a moment before withdrawing a large, faded bottle as well as a role of bandages.

As he stepped back over to his captive, he heard the yelling outside, recognizing the voice as Avio's. Standing idly facing Messiah, Gabriel reached out his mind to Avio's, reflecting his thoughts into the man's brain. 'Avio, calm down. This life isn't useless. Find your own meaning to it if you must, something worth living for. Do what you must.' It was a simple statement, yet something to reflect on nonetheless. 'Just go rest until morning, or as long as you must before your ready. We leave in the morning, whether you're in our company or not.' Staying his mind stream, he focused his eyes back on his prisoner.

Kneeling down, Gabriel set the items on the ground, reaching out for the rope binding Messiah. "Now, you can act tough if you'd like, but I don't see any point. I'm going to untie you to properly treat your wounds. I doubt you're foolish enough to try to run, and what honor you have should keep you here reguardless." Without a hint of further hesitation, Gabriel ran his hand behind the tree, tearing the knot loose deftly. Pulling the thick rope off with a single hard yank, he let it fall to his side, eyeing Messiah warily. "Most of your wounds aren't serious, but the one on your back could turn bad if not looked at soon." he stated calmly. He wasn't quite sure of what her reaction would be, but he knew she needed at least some medical treatment, and he'd give what he had to offer.

[[And assuming you're asking me, by trip as a bit uneventful besides the theme park.
Aw, I'm sorry you didn't get to go to Maine, but I'm sure your mother appreciated you there.]]

"Y-yes! I must..." Avio studdered out, halting his pace through the camp. Hearing Gabriel's words within his head, he understood what his mental health meant for the batallion.

Seemingly calming his mind with thoughts of no origin, no reason, and of no reality, Avio realized that his actions a moment ago were very childish, unsophisticated, and even moreso rash.

"I...understand, Gabriel. It's just...the past...My past...It came back to me in a rush. I-I don't know if I can handle going back to the Village now that I've seen what my parents had told me about their childhood. It pains me so to ponder upon the inhabitants of the village....how they are like us....how they do everything in the same fashion we do. I know I have been taught to kill without mercy, but I just don't know how much more I can take. You know me as someone without heart...but now that has all changed for the worse. I...saw my parents again while I was in that village. They were playing in the fields, having mock-fights in the sparring grounds, shopping in the small stores...I saw it all as clear as day. Forgive me, but I, as well as you, know what I must do now..." Avio relayed through a thought pattern to Gabriel, his sadness and remorse apparent. The visions that he had seen did indeed disturb him beyond the points of sanity.

Taking a seat on a nearby stump, Avio wondered silently within his thoughts for answers, or perhaps even another way out of his current situation. Since his mind was no longer the way it was, then he knew that he'd have to leave before the war tomorrow. It did cause him pain to leave all that he knew behind, but if he didn't, he'd fear the worst for the comrades that he has came to know so well.

"Please, forgive me...Appoint yourself as a commander of my squad, Gabriel, and tell them that I was killed in that town. Make sure that they have that seared into their minds whenever it comes to assaulting that occursed place. The morale and hatred will make them the better," Avio closed his thought, standing back up. It was now his sworn duty to leave this place forever and to never return, but instead find a life for himself elsewhere.

((I hope that this sounded alright to you all. I wasn't sure about it for some reason >.>))

Generally speaking, Messiah wasn't the type to get too surprised by the actions of another, unless in battle- And even then she had the habit of keeping her expression neutral. At his apology and apparent intent on treating her wounds, however, Messiah stared at him with unmistakable puzzlement, as if he had grown another ten heads or something of equal abnormality. She had never been held captive before, since she was quite used to coming out victorious, but she was quite sure that treating her injuries wasn't part of normal procedure for someone in Gabriel's position. In fact, she had heard various stories voicing just the opposite, where prisoners were left to suffer the burden of their poor condition. Not that the man before her had come off as the typical abductor in the first.

The sixteen year old looked ready to protest, having never been too fond of accepting much help from others, though it was debatable whether that was because of haughtiness or the habit of only trusting herself with her health. Knowing such unwillingness was useless, the young woman forced herself to keep quiet, but begrudgingly. The teenager might have been prideful when it came to the yearning to be the best, but her honor code was undistinguished, at best. Indeed, she was hardly known for paying much attention to morals, especially when it came to her own survival. Still, his words were quite correct in this case, if only because his ability to defeat her had earned him a few points when it came to regarding him as more than just a Forest Dweller that she could deceive. If she was going to escape, she'd do it fairly. Or at least, as dignified as she deemed necessary when the time came. "Humph, I won't run." Messiah knew that she wouldn't be able to maneuver through the camp without being caught by one of the other members while trying to outrun Gabriel at the same time, and she was quite sure that he was also aware of that fact.

As soon as the rope fell away from her Messiah shifted her position, proving just how restless she had been getting being tied there. Little more than a calculating glimpse was given to the domain's entrance, though that small glance was all she needed to determine the factors that'd be needed when she finally did desert her current situation, such as distance and the time that'd be taken if she walked or ran. At the mentioning of the gash across her back, Messiah reluctantly obliged to the concept of treatment. If it weren't for that fact it's more or less out of my reach, I would have suggested taking care of the injury myself. She mused before modifying her position just enough so that he'd be able to reach her back without having to squeeze between herself and the tree. "You're rather.. Astonishing, Gabriel. Well, for an enemy of mine, at least."
PostPosted: Sat Jul 08, 2006 10:20 pm

Watching as Messiah looked to his tent flap, seemingly contemplating something to herself, Gabriel nodded approvingly as she turned away from him. "I didn't think you would." he commented with a slight smirk, lifting the bandages from the small bottle from the ground. He blinked as she spoke to him, quirking an eyebrow in a questioning look that he knew she couldn't see. "Well, you're quite amazing yourself, Messiah. Though, you're unique in a way not only from what I've seen with enemies, but with so-called 'allies' as well." came his smooth voice from behind her.

Looking over the gash carefully, he shook his head, wondering why he was thankful that it wasn't so deep. Shrugging the feeling off, he lefted the bottle, uncapping it and pouring a bit of the clear liquid into the cap. "This is an old medicine from way back before most anyone remembers. It was used when I served in the North Korean military for wounds such as these." He blinked as he spoke, remembering how almost no one even knew what he was currently talking about. "It will burn pretty badly, but please try not to move. It'll remove harmful bacterea." he said calmly, lifting the cap above her wound carefully. His hand didn't vibrate in the slightest, let alone shake. Without waiting for her response, he trickled the clear liquid over the large gash, watching as it bubbled up and hissed immediatly.

Emptying the cap with a tilt of his hand, Gabriel lifted the bandages once again, waiting silently for the cut to stop bubbling and hissing before unraveling the length of white cloth. He looked first from the bandage, to Messiah's frame, wondering how to put his next statement. "I'm going to have to ask you to remove your top momentarily in order to wrap this bandage properly. If you're uncomfortable with that, we can always just wrap it around, though, there would be a risk of it tearing or slipping off." He tried to keep his voice as tranquil as ever, and succeeded by his standards. It was an odd request, having a woman remove any part of her clothing in front of him, let alone a prisoner.

"All due to my charm, no doubt." She replied coolly, mildly amused by his response. It's been a while since anyone has used 'amazing' with my name in the same sentence. Not as if, of course, she had ever particularly cared about the opinions of another. But hearing it from someone who was on a whole different side than herself, no matter how peculiarly uncharacteristic he appeared to be from the usual adversary, was mildly intriguing. When the vampire spoke of the medicine he was going to use, Messiah glanced over her shoulder to get a peek of the substance before looking away once more. "Never heard of it." As the liquid was trickled on the gash, Messiah arched her back just slightly in reaction, a bit surprised at the sting despite Gabriel's warning. She otherwise didn't move at all, however, quite used to the necessary burn of certain medical supplies, even though the medicine did seem a bit stronger than the ones at the village.

It was difficult to determine whether the silence that met his statement was due to being absolutely appalled by the potential indecency of the remark or because she was merely coming up with the proper way to call him a pervert without sounding too embarrassed. It wasn't that she was a person prone to modesty, but the concept was quite awkward, to say the least. Muttering something inaudible curtly under her breath, Messiah slipped the leathery material over her head in one fluid motion before discarding the shirt on her lap. "I suppose there's no point in wrapping them over my clothing if they'll just end up tearing."
PostPosted: Sun Jul 09, 2006 9:12 pm

Gabriel allowed himself a small smirk at her comment about her charm. 'Well, she knows how to work under pressure, I'll give her that.' he mused silently, watching as she slipped off her leathery shirt. He had thought that he wouldn't really care, seeing as the young woman's status was nothing more than a prisoner. But nevertheless, Gabriel couldn't help the lightest blush from tingling into his cheeks. His voice displayed the same calm tranquility as ever, though, none of the slight embarissment he felt eminating from his speach.

"I'll let you set it comfortably." came his smooth voice as he unravelled the bandages farther. "Just keep handing it around to me as I pass it." Tearing the bandage off into a very long piece, he picked up one end, tossing it over Messiah's left shoulder so that she could wrap it around herself. He kept his eyes on the gash on her mid-back, glancing at his weapon as if to assure that he'd made it. 'Rather nice cut, if I do say so myself...She seemed to avert the force rather well, though...' he mused as an afterthought. 'Not an ordinary girl, this one...'

Unaware of his mild embarrassment due to the fact she could go by nothing but his speech, Messiah offered a slight nod in response. "Alright." Slipping the bandage across her chest before holding the end out for him to take, Messiah showed no signs of sheepishness in her voice nor in her posture. She sat up straight in the proud manner she had long since acquired and didn't bother shrinking away from him, despite the looming feeling of exposure. Needless to say, if having the same person who inflicted the wound treat it as well wasn't weird enough, the fact she found herself secretly embarrassed was far more annoying. The multi-lingual teenager had never been the type to be bashful, even in the very rare occasions when someone managed to walk in on her- Which stopped abruptly when she made the fact she didn't like the idea of people barging into her house uninvited just to prove that they could perfectly clear. Nonetheless, Messiah found herself uncharacteristic self conscious, even if it didn't show.

Gabriel's achievement of being able to catch her from behind had been the very thing that had made her snap into the savage haze that she had, having resulted in plain brute force from then after. Though she perhaps didn't like the concept of being weaponless in the presence of someone who could meet her skill head on, the reality of the circumstances didn't seem to match up with the usual motives that he should have been harboring. "What was the purpose of keeping me alive and bringing me here? You don't seem to be interested in questioning me for any information, nor do you strike me as the time to just take someone captive in order to kill them off right after. The fact you're wasting your supplies on me is proof of that..."
PostPosted: Tue Jul 11, 2006 12:31 am

Taking the other end of the bandage with his pale fingers, Gabriel wrapped it over the deep wound. The Vampire's eyes remained on his captive's back as she spoke, one hand pressed gently against the gash while the other pulled it around her left side for her to take yet again. His dead blue eyes turned upwards to gaze at Messiah's neck, eyes flashing unseen behind her. The blood within' the cut, which was already beginning to seep through the bandage, had reacted with something inside of him; something primitive and savage. He had an unmistakable lust for her blood that could almost be felt in the very air around them. Withholding his tranquility in the situation, though, Gabriel let his eyes fall back down to his own hands.

"I believe I've already told you my reasons. I've only ever brought back one captive, and she was the only other person besides yourself who's ever been able to harm me in a one-on-one duel. Needless to say, your skills with the single naginata are well surpassed one of your age." His voice held a slight quaver to it that he strived to supress, knowing full well that it could betray what was already lurking in his mind. "You're unique, as I've said; different from any other adversary I've faught, even Jezra."

His eyes froze at a spot between her shoulder blades, pupils elongating virtically as his mind flashed back to his previous captive in a angry reminisence. He'd taken her for her skills alone, and spoken to her only once. 'I was only gone for an hour at most...Pieces of her everywhere...The look on her disembodied face...' Gabriel's hand subconciously tightened on Messiah's back, nails digging lightly into her skin for a moment.

Snapping out of yet another one of his dazes, he let his hand untense from the girl's back. The anger that had eminated from his mind at that moment had escaped his own head, lashing outwards in small wave of unkempt fury. It was short, but enough to relay his thoughts of the past.

"Appologies. I slipped out of my mind there." he said softly in the same calm tone. It no longer held a quaver of any sort, though now seemed more monotoned. "My reasons are no concern of yours. This treatment is only common courtesy to a worthy opponant, nothing more." In his own mind, he protested his own cold words, though did not take back the cold statement he'd just offered.

The sudden tension in the air was more than enough to cause Messiah's keen senses to peek. Fluidly, her calm disposition mixed with that of awareness and guard, more so out of instinct than anything else. The quaver in his voice failed to go unnoticed the young woman and only managed to increase her sudden suspicions. She knew the man that kneeled behind her hardly at all, but she didn't suspect that quivering speech was a trait of his. "Jezra..? Oh, you're former prisoner." Setting the coil of bandages comfortable against her front once more, she moved to hand the end back at him before speaking. "I asked for the purpose, not the reason. They are quite different, in this case, anyway. You didn't bother to finish me off because I'm a sufficient opponent, but I don't see how that could come into play here. That wouldn't benefit you, nor explain just what you plan for me."

When his grip on her back tightened, she gave a small mutter of warning, unsure what was bringing on his strange behavior. The sixteen year old reached behind her in order to try and pry his nails from her flesh right when he came to his senses. Withdrawing her hand, not bothering to even glance over her shoulder at him, Messiah's focus was quickly overwhelmed by the brief, but fierce, display of mental anguish. The message wasn't exactly clear and, much to her momentary confusion, caused jumbled images of the past the flash within her own mind for a split second. Messiah wasn't sure whether he had actually meant to send out the references of what had occurred before, but her own senses had certainly picked up on it. "You should be careful when your emotions take control while around someone who's keen to such things. You might reveal something you would rather not be known." She murmured, seeming unconcerned with whether or not he'd hear her.

"What a pity. And to think I was beginning to believe that you were falling in love with me. Ah, but alas, looks like I attract disappointment once again." Her sarcasm was expressed in a clear manner, though he wouldn't be able to see her roll her eyes at the mere thought. "Naturally. Humph, as if I'd take it any differently. But on the contrary, your reasons do concern me. They effect me quite directly, do they not?" Gabriel's cold words were met with a tone of equal frostiness.
PostPosted: Tue Jul 11, 2006 10:55 pm

"As I said, it's none of your concern." he repeated, taking hold of the end of the bandage and wrapping it once again over the wound, covering the rest of it as he pressed it against her back. Gabriel had answered both Messiah's statement about Jezra, and also about the purpose of him keeping her there in his last statement, whether she'd caught it or not. "Two more should do it." he said calmly, holding the cloth out to her left side once again.

Eye twitching in an irritated manner, Gabriel replied Messiah in his ever tranquil tone of voice. "Telling me to be careful with my emotions is not something you're in the position to say, nor is anyone else in this camp." The coldness had all but died away from his tone at this point, returning to how it had been a few moments before. "An occurance like that has never happened, and I don't expect it to any time in the future." he said bluntly.

"Oh yes, I've fallen victim to your charm." he said with a chuckle as he returned Messiah's sarcasm. "Reguardless how they effect you, they're none of your concern. You're a simple captive, and you'll know only what I wish you to." Pupils dilating back to a normal spherical shape, Gabriel raised his head to the height of Messiah's neck, moving closer with a smirk. His breath hot on the nape of her neck, he spoke in his same quiet, soft tone, though it held a bit of humor to it now. "And if I'd fallen in love with you, darling...I'd have given you my mark." The Vampire's lips twitched up into the slightest smile, eyes flashing as he held in his temptation to sink his fangs deep within' his captive's flesh.

((Meh, sorry for just popping in with this, but dang this is some impressive writing! It's inspired me for some odd-off reason now, so I think I'll come back with something a bit sooner than what I had origionally thought, Illicit. I'll post something here later today perhaps, or edit this one in the next bit with my post. Either way, thank you both. I've had my confidence renewed and I can only hope to keep it up now.))

"There must be somewhere I can go to that'll accept me for who I am...but...what if they dont?" Avio questioned himself, stopping just before the forest's edge, or where the campgrounds met the first trees. His new dilemma was just now added to his conscience and he begun to think whether or not he should let his emotions control his directions in life.

After standing there for another moment, Avio realized that it would all come down to two questions. Would he leave the encampment and search out a new life and forget the past to answer his emotions, or stay and fight tomorrow like he really should do. That second question was how he felt about it. He didn't like the idea that emotions had controlled him.

"Yes, that's it," he spoke suddenly and to no one as it seemed, "I'll just have to make sure that I don't let them control me again...I must...or else I will fail in my mission that I have to partake in tomorrow." Turning around now and heading back toward the tents about the camp, he made a stop by Gabriel's tent and went to open the small slit. "Wait, voices?" Avio mused, stopping his hand mid-motion. There were two distinct voices emitting from within Gabriel's tent. One of them was undoubtably Gabriel's voice and the other was an unfamiliar female's voice. "Well, I'll have to wait a bit them to tell him my decision then. I don't want to be bothersome," he thought to himself, taking a few steps away from the tent. It was but a false hope that Gabriel didn't hear the thoughts that Avio had just thought of, though he seemed a bit preoccupied at the moment.

((Well, it seems as if I'm not going to do some grand entrance, but I guess this works. I'm trying to get more into the story and interact with characters, but that's been hard because of where we all are as of now.))
