Once again, Kagerou was here in the Arashi hospital.
"You got permission?" a nervous-looking nurse asked her tentatively.
Giving her characteristic smile, Kagerou nodded with a "Mm."
"Fantastic," the nurse exhaled in relief, "then I can give you these assignments. Sorry about earlier… but rules are rules…" Yeah, it wasn't an emergency or anything like that. Just a too-nice nurse feeling bad over something she didn't really need to. [Assist the Hospital 1/1] [Psychiatry 21]
Walking through the halls to the room of the patient she was assigned to, she flipped through the received medical charts. She had offered to just take them all at once, but the medical staff had insisted on focusing on one patient at a time. Well, when they put it that way, she couldn't really refuse… She just felt a little bad for troubling them. [Assist the Hospital 1/1] [Psychiatry 22]
Kagerou finished reading the charts just outside the door to the first patient, and then walked in. The lights were off and the curtains were drawn tightly closed so as to not let a single speck of light in. In the brief stream of light that entered with Kagerou' sentry, she could see the room's occupant jerkily turn and shift away from the light. His body was visibly trembling. Then the door was closed and the two were in darkness again. [Assist the Hospital 1/1] [Psychiatry 23]
Patient: Eli Night. Symptoms: … Well, the list was fairly long and professional, but the layman's summary of it all was that Eli's psyche had been severely damaged by a genjutsu in his last mission. Doctors had been treating him around the clock. [Assist the Hospital 1/1] [Psychiatry 24]
Kagerou would be one of those doctors now. Admittedly, for only one visit while the other doctors got in a bit of rest to get ready for the actual treatment. In a few hours, they will be in charge of the actual recovery of the patient. Presently, Kagerou was charged with giving the patient a check-up and administering some predetermined dosages of various medication. [Assist the Hospital 1/1] [Psychiatry 25]
A gentle smile gracing her pleasing features even if the room was too dark to see, Kagerou soothingly asked, "Good afternoon Mr. Night. How are you feeling?". After an extended period of silence, "Patient remains nonverbal." She had stayed still to listen, but once she made this observation, she proceeded to move slowly through the dark room. The room wasn't covered in total darkness. Tightly shut and covered as everything was, hints of light still managed to find their way in, and a shinobi like Kagerou's vision was well practiced in finding her way through darkness. Her eyes had adjusted while she waited, and with a bit of care, she knew how to make her way around the room. [Assist the Hospital 1/1] [Psychiatry 27]
Her hands were full, so Kagerou couldn't approach the patient immediately. First, she had to deposit the items she held in her arms. The chart she had left outside, deposited in the little bin on the door. What she lay across the work table in the room were the various medications she would need. The medication was mostly prepared. The nurses had taken care of everything, and Kagerou had double checked all the doses before walking her way here. Deftly putting on disposable gloves, Kagerou quietly passed a glancing touch across what she would use to familiarize herself with their locations. [Assist the Hospital 1/1] [Psychiatry 29]
Three needles of varying sizes. The order they were given wasn't particularly important, but their injection depths were all different, so Kagerou had to be careful not to get them mixed up. Kagerou picked up the first need and administered it with little difficulty. [Assist the Hospital 1/1] [Psychiatry 30]
There was a flinch at her touch, but no differences were detected otherwise. Kagerou kept her touch kind and her movements gentle, refraining from making a sound so as not to overstimulate the patient. Similarly, she showed her care by keeping her interaction with the patient brief. The next two shots were given just as quickly and with just as little problem. [Assist the Hospital 1/1] [Nursing 1]
"No noticeable differences in the patient," Kageoru noted at the end of her visit, "Patient remains sensitive to any sensory stimuli." Each shot had drawn a brief reaction from the patient before he slipped back again into whatever nightmare he was facing. When she observed his pulse, she caught a prolonged glimpse of his eyes. She couldn't help but feel uneasy at their rabid gaze. Whatever was going through the patient's mind must have been something terrible. [Assist the Hospital 1/1] [Nursing 2]
The next patient, of course after Kagerou had left the room and finished all of the matters regarding the first patient, was a suspect in a recent string of crimes. Even while the village was undergoing reconstruction after a massive foreign attack, such petty domestic crimes still needed to be handled. As part of his defense, the patient claimed insanity in order to lessen his sentence. [Assist the Hospital 1/1] [Nursing 3]
Kageoru's job was to be a part of the committee of psychiatrists who will be handing down the yay or nay of this diagnosis. Being in the ninja equivalent of residency (at least she was paid for it, though), Kageroul wouldn't be the head of this committee, but it seemed out of respect for her repeated services to the hospital, she was given the responsibilities of a member instead of a mere hospital. Kagerou arrived in a timely fashion to the assigned room. On one side of the room was a gray wall. The other side was dominated by a large window, a one-way mirror, that showed the next door room, which was empty at the moment. Once all of the psychiatrists responsible for diagnosing the patient were present, the patient was led inside. [Assist the Hospital 1/1] [Nursing 5]
Her hands were still atop her clipboard, not a single note written yet. However, from the first step the patient took into the room, Kagerou observed and analyzed intently. Besides the suspect, there was only one other individual in the room, and he asked all of the questions. The others of the committee, Kagerou included, remained hidden behind the glass window. As questions were answered and answers were questioned, Kagerou did eventually begin to jot down some notes, thoughts that had passed the point of being simply initial speculations. Her notes were split into two factions, objective observations and subjective conclusions. When all the doctors convened after the session to compare notes, Kagerou's stood out as almost severe. The question of truths and lies dominated what she had observed, and altogether the notes she wrote felt more appropriate for an interrogation than a hospital visit. All in all, Kagerou had to modestly apologize, citing her upbringing for her rather strange method of observation. She promised to fix her method of analysis for next time, but before she could really make up for it, something came up that took her away from even finishing her committee work. "URGENT NEWS! URGENT NEWS!" a clearly uninvited guest burst into the meeting room, "KAGEROU! URGENT NEWS!". Kagerou looked as confused as the rest of the professionals gathered, but she could only mumble a few apologies. She was, thankfully, allowed to go without much of a fuss. Several of the medics present knew very well how hectic the shinobi schedule could be. If they needed an extra hand, then they would be able to just bring in another medic to fill in for Kagerou. After telling Kagerou to finalize her notes and then leave them with those present, they permitted her to dismiss herself as needed. [Assist the Hospital 1/1] [Nursing 10]
Kagerou and the bringer of bad news, a medical assistant she recognized, talked as they walked, at first briskly but breaking into a jog before long. The hospital was sorely understaffed, with many of the hands occupied with tending to those who had been wounded in the earlier event. This meant that the ER, unfortunately, suffered the most. Right now, in their haste to rebuild, there was a construction accident. Large numbers of varying degrees of severity were being brought in even as Kagerou walked through the doors of the hospital's ER section. Other medical professionals walked in with her, before her, and after her, also brought in as reserve units. [Assist the Hospital 1/1] [Emergency 2]
Her face, which briefly revealed a frown, had returned to its stable medium of a smile. The smile, however, disappeared when her eyes swept across the emergency room. Assessing the situation, she could only say that it truly was understaffed and overfilled. Even the extra numbers could only offset it so much. [Assist the Hospital 1/1] [Emergency 3]
Kagerou had already dived into the work present, ducking naturally through one of the partitions as it was set up. The patient lying in the bed that the partition surrounded had a bloody gash across the length of his leg. Splinters could be seen through the wound, but what stole the show was the beam of wood that stuck out at an almost perpendicular angle. [Assist the Hospital 1/1] [Emergency 4]
One of the nurses moved to usher Kagerou out, but she swiftly cast some hand signs and explained, "I'm a medical ninja," as she shot the attentive woman a reassuring smile. The meaning behind those words was quickly understood by the medical professional. Kagerou's whole body emitted a brief glow as her chakra disinfected her person, giving the nurse no reason to chase Kagerou out. [Assist the Hospital 1/1] [Emergency 5]
Her smile was only a shot because in the next instant, Kagerou was frowning at the wounds on the worker present. Medical assistants had already begun treatment, taking out the various splinters. Off to the side, a doctor and nurse were quickly discussing how to handle the big problem. Kagerou caught wind of the word "surgeon," and she immediately offered herself. Her qualifications checked out. She had plenty of experience in the surgical field. Though there wasn't any time to check it officially, one of the MAs working on the patient piped up as an eyewitness. With time being of essence, the doctor gave Kagerou permission to proceed and left the matter in her hands, including authorizing the prescription of several drugs Kagerou requested, while he went off to handle the next patient. Kagerou properly administered the anesthesia while an MA set a towel over the worker's eyes in case he woke up to see (and freak out) at the sight of what was to come. Due to the urgency of the situation, Kagerou used some basic iryo-nin techniques to hasten the removal of the broken 2x4 lodged in the worker's leg. Otherwise, it was all manual skill. The whole operation went by smoothly without a hitch. [Assist the Hospital 1/1] [Emergency 8]
Kagerou used the remaining drugs to finish the treatment of the worker. Anesthetic to clean the wounds before they were stitched. Pain relief medicine that should activate at about the time the worker woke up to manage his pain. Finally, drugs to help with the sudden loss of blood and quickly regenerate blood cells. Word, evidently, spread quickly that there was a fully certified surgeon working as an assistant-to-be in the emergency sector because Kagerou was whisked away as she was putting the finishing touches on her treatment of the worker. A smooth voice that left no room for arguments pulled her away and quickly pointed her to a still being made section of emergency patients that needed surgery. She was only told to deal with it, and was impromptu given control of the whole station. [Assist the Hospital 1/1] [Emergency 10]
Aiya aiya… Kagerou did her best. With her usual calm composure, she accepted the task without a hint of flustered surprise either inside or out. Ever one to follow the rules, Kagerou at first expected there to be a supervising doctor who would be double checking everything she did, or at least authorizing her prescriptions. There… wasn't. Kagerou quickly found that out when she asked one of the nurses to "ask a doctor to prescribe these drugs for me." The response given was, "Aren't you the doctor?". Internally, Kagerou corrected that she probably only just now gained the qualification to be an assistant in the emergency room. After all, there was much different between surgery and emergency surgery. The former needed to be the thorough final solution. The latter was meant to be the fastest current solution. Externally, she went with the flow. Alright. She was the doctor now. Kagerou changed her approach, instead prescribing the following drugs for the patient herself. [Assist the Hospital 1/1] [Emergency 13]
Since she was evidently in charge, there were other parts of her methods that would need to be changed. She explained preparation for her current patient instead of doing so herself, then moved to the next worker in need of emergency surgery. She received a report from an MA working on the patient, gave her diagnosis of it, and explained to them what they needed to prepare and have done before she would see the patient. She could only divide her attention like this as, evidently, she was the only surgeon responsible for this section. Of course, she thought that was strange because shouldn't there be more staff, but it was what it was. She trusted there were reasons. She could guess at a few. For one, emergency had its own surgical rooms, for her to be operating outside of them meant that they were all filled, which likely also meant that the other surgeons were also all busy. For a second, to operate outside of the operating room was generally not allowed. There was only one type of individual who could be trusted to operate safely in such conditions. Said individual would be a medical ninja, and the only type of medical ninja that could operate on large numbers of patients with efficiency were the few who had high non-shinobi medical skills. Kagerou fit the qualifications. She honestly couldn't blame the staff if they weren't able to find others that fit such qualifications. [Assist the Hospital 1/1] [Emergency 17]
These were the conclusions Kagerou drew from her brief observations of the flow of business in the emergency hall. Kagerou wasn't idle while thinking, either. She continued giving instructions for the patients under her charge, returning to those who should have been fully prepared to operate quickly on them, and then continuing to give operations for other patients as more came in. She was in no way able to get a breather. However, no one would be able to tell that. Her expressions, whatever they were, gave the feeling that she was breezing through her job. A gentle frown as she looked over the various injuries. A refreshing smile to comfort those few workers who were awake. [Assist the Hospital 1/1] [Emergency 19]
Kagerou could count the number of patients she helped that day and well into the night. It was a lot, needless to say. Getting through all the surgeries took too long, but it was the fastest Kagerou could work at without sacrificing quality. Though, someone did yell at her for taking too long, but she expected that to happen. [Assist the Hospital 1/1] [Emergency 20]
It was like she thought earlier, she was a trained surgeon, not a trained emergency surgeon. There were some things that people would only think to do after they've learned it. She accepted the criticism, it was wisely delivered after all of the patients had already been seen, and after showing that she would humbly learn from her mistake this time, she was given some gruff praise. She would have stayed for longer but… it was late and a long day. Kagerou, remembering the lesson she had learned while watching those around her, the people she cared for her who worked themselves far too hard, decided she would go to sleep. She will rest well now and work diligently once she woke up tomorrow… Well, after she penned a letter and created several dozen seals. The letter was long overdue, and who knew she would need the seals before she had time to work on them tomorrow morning. [Total: Assist the Hosptial x41]

Another morning. A loud but slightly reserved knocking would occur indicating another desire for Kagerou. When this was would be hard to determine. Had it been only mere hours into Kagerou trying to catch a few hours of rest or was it the metaphorical cawing of the rooster implying another day of a hard day's works awaited her. Either way, the door would eventually open slowly and a nurse who seemed visibly distressed entered. She had a few...claw marks? on her arms and one on her face. Her voice would barely be enough to be heard. "Kiritani-sensei...I think we need your psychiatric assistance. It's...rather serious." The nurse would approach Kagerou whether she be groggy or in wait with anticipation for her first case. The case file on a clipboard with test results and the like would be placed in front of her.

"The Patient's injuries were being treated as he was brought into the precinct unconcious yesterday. When he woke this morning for the additional treatment he assaulted the staff, forcibly removed his IV, and then removed his bandages violently causing his wounds to re-open. He's losing blood rapidly. The staff have tried to calm him down but he keeps exclaiming that he wants to die...he can't leave the facility because of his injuries but... the nurse bowed apologetically to leave likely to get her own medical treatment. It was apparent what she was about to say is that if this raucous patient continued he'd die of blood loss, which was apparently what he desired.
Should Kagerou respond in a urgent manner she'd be able to look into the patient's room to see a pale looking boy laying in bed with eyes that carried both a fierceness and nihilism if such a thing seemed possible. Outside there were other doctors who seemed to be covered and contaminated in the boy's blood likely those who've tried and failed. What they had in their hands were clearly injectable sedatives. One doctor inside would open the door and look not unlike the others to take notice of Kagerou. "Kiritani-sensei. We're sincerely sorry. He won't allow anyone to get near him. He's like a rabid dog. We attempted a gentle approach trying to talk him down in that all we wanted to do was help him, then tried a more forceful approach, but with his tendencies, if he starts acting out more it will only shorten his life expectancy. One of the nurses cleverly applied healing hands despite receiving personal injuries but he proceeded to re-open the wounds. For the most part, it slowed things down if only slighlty. Further inspection of the room it almost looked like a murder scene and the patient's bed looked more like a red sponge than a bed of recovery.

It had been only a few hours, and as Kagerou woke up, she started to realize... maybe all of those people she had nagged really, truly couldn't find a spare moment to sleep. Ahh... Now wasn't the time to think of such things.
Her manner of awakening was orderly and carefully trained. The the nurse, it would seem like a quick transition from dream land to awake with great clarity, her eyes showing not a hint of grogginess since opening. There was, as ever, an amiable smile in greeting as Kagerou lifted herself to a seated position to take the chart and listen to the situation. The only time her expression changed was when the nurse explained, "that he wants to die." Her eyes blinked and her expression froze. Something tensed... then it passed. She looked as relaxed as ever and from that point on, nothing of note showed. [Assist the Hospital 1/1] [Emergency 22]
Kagerou left right behind the nurse, wasting no time in finding the patient. She didn't show it, but it took everything she had to keep her pace at a brisk walk. She couldn't let her personal feelings mix with a patient. Every case was different. [Assist the Hospital 2/1] [Emergency 23]
Honestly, it wasn't terribly difficult to do with all the noise he was making. "Is it the left or right leg?" was the biggest question she had, or at least she told herself she had, upon walking into the chaos of the scene. The answer she discovered, "Ah, it doesn't matter." This matter... truly was serious. It didn't matter where the original injuries were, he was littered with self afflicted injuries himself, and at this distance, Kagerou couldn't be sure if she could assume if perhaps the fresh injuries were less severe than they were. Normally, the human body would hold itself back when it would cause harm to itself, but "normal" didn't apply in situations of psychiatric deviance such as now. The second report given to her, one that she also listened to attentively, gave her more details on the situation, as did what she saw of it all.
So the gentle approach had been taken... Kagerou's eyes dropped slightly as she calculated how much time the patient had. Her top priority needed to be his life, even at the cost of forcing him. However, she had been called here as an emergency psychiatrist. If she thought about healing his mind, then she could cut no corners. No matter how much she trusted the professionalism and skills of those around her, she needed to approach this patient with fresh, unbiased eyes. [Assist the Hospital 4/1] [Emergency 25]
While pondering, Kagerou's smile had faded away in thought. Her eyes deepened, but what it was that seemed to drag her further into her mind than her usual introspection was left unsaid. Besides, the smile returned shortly, reappearing when she made her decision and nodded to the doctor. "I understand," the first words Kagerou had said since coming in ear shot of this patient's room, "Please leave me alone with Akito." Her voice was soft, but the request she gave was one that didn't sound like it could be refused. [Assist the Hospital 5/1] [Emergency 26]
Once the room had emptied, Kagerou gave her full attention to the bedridden patient. She didn't approach him, or well, she did, but it was only because she had to walk towards him to grab the cleanest chair in the room. Kagerou casually pulled the chair back to give the Kemono boy space before he could decide that he wanted to defend his right to death and sat on it. Of course, only after giving it a quick clean using the sanitation technique. For only the first few seconds, she didn't say a word and simply watched him with her red eyes. She hoped he would say something first, but it also wasn't like she could give him all day in his state. [Assist the Hospital 6/1] [Emergency 27]

When Kagerou reached for the chair it would be met with what could only be heard as a snarl as the boy bore his teeth. His eyes moved like those akin to watching a fly about to land on their food. When Kagerou got her distance after vigorously analyzing her person to see if she was in possession of 'something' when he found it wasn't there he'd turn his head back to affix his gaze on the ceiling once more. From this distance his wounds were apparent. Some slight healing visible on some wounds it would appear with bandages scattered about, the evidence of his defiance and a nurses attempt at using healing hands at her own expense. His left leg the one furthest from Kagerou showed signs of stitches but they were unfurled from strain and it was here the most blood pooled the cause of the darkening red bed as the blood was oxidizing. Despite having been ripped out. The Iv drip and the Iv for blood transfusion were still in tact. Though with their precarious distance to the patient one bad lashing out and both would likely incur damages that would render them useless. The needles themselves, of course, were dangling just above the floor meaning as far as sanitary standards went it was salvageable.
A steady stream of blood came from his right arm where the previous medical equipment had been inserted earlier the second affirmation they were removed forcibly. In a brief moment, his ceiling staring contest would be interrupted with a wince and some verbal response. "Tch...." Perhaps it was only because he had been given heavy amounts of pain killer when admitted that he was able to ravage his body the way he did with a less consequential attitude and now they were wearing off. With irritation in his voice and without so much as looking at Kagerou he'd impart his warning. "Take one step near me and I'll make those hands you docs are so fond of useless." He'd wince again before he'd casually spit saliva with trace amounts of blood on the floor before looking back to the ceiling.

Once the doors were closed, Kagerou smoothly adopted a much more casual approach the whole situation. This boy had been surrounded by white coats and scrubs for probably his entire stay here. If she wanted to get closer, disassociating herself with those people would be a solid step forward. Moreover, she trusted her coworkers. They had likely done everything right, so she could only try the things that they wouldn't have thought about doing. [Assist the Hospital 7/1] [Emergency 28]
Making light of the situation to throw the patient off guard, Kagerou responded with unguarded surprise, "Ehh?!," her eyes widening and her hands rising to her mouth. The bells on her wrist chimed with the movement. With their ringing, she could clean up the mess and sanitize the area, but the more pressing matter was prolonging this boy's life until she could help him. [Assisst the Hospital 8/1] [Emergency 29]
Instead, she could only ignore the mess for now so as to hide her hand, figuratively speaking. Chakra mingling with sound, Kagerou discreetly caused the blood in the boy's wounds to coagulate. Precise control aiming for only the innermost layer of blood and only barely enough to staunch the blood. As much as possible, she wanted to reduce the chances of Akito noticing the little trick she tried to sneak past him. [Assisst the Hospital 9/1] [Emergency 30]
For that reason, she kept on talking, forcing his attention onto her with a string of ridiculous words. His eyes would roll to Kagerou. Not once did he even mention his ears so why did she bring that up. The human half of him found the mention of his ears insulting but the dog half of him thought that maybe that implied she was going to pet him, a thought no all that unpleasant to his dog half as his tail slinked from beneath the bed and wagged once but his face only showed signs of irritability. "What I never...how do you even. Tch." he'd spit again before looking back to the ceiling. Sounding distant a rudeness would follow.
"Don't think for a minute I won't I won't lay into you cause your a lady. Hey there's a thought if you're really just gunna stick around how bout you give me a lay. I'm just a dog n yer just another b***h anyway am I right." it was clear he didn't want Kagerou in the room. To the normal woman they'd have likely left but there was a reasoning behind his crass choice of words. That was the belief that Kagerou was the normal woman who would do just that or better lash out at him.
He of course hadn't noticed the minor dampening of his blood loss, as long as he was still bleeding his suspiciosness would remain as such preventing another desire to self inflict. Though if he were to do so he'd likely be more restrained due to the fading pain killer. He'd then mumble quietly to himself something before returning to silence.a shitty dog apparently but still one.
Not a strand of hair was ruffled at Akito's vulgar insults. Very calmly, and even with a smile, Kagerou politely refused the suggestion, "While it's true that sexual stimulation would increase your blood pressure, and consequently hasten your death, unfortunately, I'm here to try and save your life. You know... Assuming I can somehow convince you to not bite the hand that heals you. If you'd like a way to pass time, though, I'll be happy to chat."Did his tail... just wag? Well, that's cute." More importantly, "What was that he just said?". Of course, Kagerou had heard. Despite her carefree demeanor, her attention was wholly focused on the patient in front of her, whether it's to discreetly slow his blood flow or to squeeze his every action for even the smallest clue. The question was what to make of it, and since she couldn't tell with just one sentence, she decided to ask a bit more about it. "Ah, I completely forgot about introductions. I'm Kagerou. I know that you're Akito, but I don't think anyone really told me... Why are you here, Akito? How did you end up with two torn muscles? Normally, I'd be able to make a guess but... "Pfff I don't have to tell you s**t. Whats the point when I'm about to bite it anyway. Thought Id've bled out by now. Maybe I should..tch. He rose for a moment as he moved his arm the claws on them sharpening for a moment to indicate that he was likely going to do something to hasten the process. Only to stop midway because of the pain in his lower abdomen from all his injuries. This most definitely confirmed the only reason he was capable of self-inflicting was due to the pain killers. A trained eye, could see. Some lacerations weren't claw marks but bite marks as some showed puncture wound indicators. Now it didn't take a heavy amount of thought to realize that while it very well might have been possible the leg injury and claw marks could have been self-inflicted these bite marks would have been impossible to accomplish unless Akito could magically extend his head and the case file showed he was certainly no snake Kemono Shinzo...in fact if it were to be re-reviewed there was an additional tag added at the end of Kemono Shinzo that tag being {Kemonomimi}
Whether or not Kagerou had any pre-conceived knowledge about the Kemono Shinzo bloodline was left to be determined. Had Akito been one of many there was indeed a distinct difference between him and others that had the Kemono Shinzo Bloodline. That being most with said bloodline were more often than not more beast than man but in his case, he was more man than beast, there was the occasional case of individuals not unlike Akito as well but the more beast-like individuals were more common. The words 'a shitty dog' would resonate again in Kagerou's head if she could come this far in conclusions on her own. If she lacked this knowledge it would make her job all that more difficult.
It was unfortunate. Kirigakure did not have many Kemono, and consequently, Kagerou did not have much experience dealing with them. She knew of their kind, but mostly through lessons from her parents and the occasional mention in her readings. One or two, she may have met on the road, but the rare bloodline were always so shy, hiding their appearance. Kagerou couldn't blame them. She knew what humans could do to those who were different, so her first suspicion was actually the opposite of the correct conclusion. He had called himself a dog. Was he just echoing names that others have called him? [Assist the Hospital 13/1] [Nursing 14]
If so, then had they added injury to insult and assaulted him for his different appearance? Since she had mentioned it, Kagerou took the time to gaze at Akito's legs, her expression light and casual, hiding the penetrating keenness she observed with. Her observation was abruptly interrupted when she noticed Akito's movements getting violent. "Hey," Kagerou let slip, her seemingly effortless smile pushed aside by a stern frown, more afraid for than angry at Akito. She was just about to rise when Akito collapsed from pain. Kagerou ended up standing anyways, bells ringing with her movement. She wasn't going to be awkward and sit back down. "You know, you bite with your mouth, not your claws." Then again, what did it matter how awkward sitting back down was going to be when her first winged decision was to say that? There was a reason, though. She was going to connect it to what she wanted to say next. "It seems like you've been bitten enough already, though... Who did this to you?". [Assist the Hospital 15/1] [Nursing 16]
It wasn't that easy, and it had taken a while for Kagerou to discern everything through the thick layer of blood. If she hadn't been using eiseijutsu and if Akito hadn't moved so abruptly, reopening the wounds Kagerou had just barely closed, she might not have realized the strange shape of the wounds. To her credit, she understood quickly once she recognized the shape. Perhaps Akito had been attacked by a tamer or perhaps he had been attacked by a wild beast and the subsequent disappointment in himself compounded with his already dangerously low self esteem to bring him to this point. That was a possibility, yet Kagerou's intuition told her that her first guess felt wrong after discovering what she just had. [Assist the Hospital 16/1] [Nursing 17]
Recalling what he hda just said, she offered him a reason why he should answer her questions. Kagerou's amicable smile returned, "Like I said, I'm here to save your life, and I'm confident in my ability to win this battle of wills. It's true you don't have to tell me anything, but if you're going to live anyways, then why not? Maybe getting it off your chest will make your inevitable living more bearable." What was it that Akito needed to live? What was the push that would rekindle his desire? Kagerou didn't know. Not yet at least, but he still had spirit and fire, at least. My inevitable living? So you think I don't have it in me to off myself! Akito's blood pressure while not connected to any monitoring device could simply be assumed to have spiked. His ears rose, the hairs stiffening, her smile met with a fang bearing scowl as he turned his head her way and her eyes met with eyes sharp enough to cut steel. Kagerou's claims to a predisposed victory only seemed to trigger an additional furor. She'd rekindled a desire all right. His desire to die. Akito's muscles tensed as his fist clenched. The pain that had kept him at bay for the time being overshadowed by a layer of ferocity as his upper body rose to berate Kagerou.
"Did I ask you or any of those white coat cronies to save my life hairless b***h! Cut your saccharine schtick! You don't know crap about me, and its going to stay that way! You and you're holier than thou airs of thinking you know best! Its my body! My life! What gives you the right to say what I can or can't do with it! What did you think was going to happen when you said that s**t! I never asked to exist dad!" A freudian slip as he called Kagerou his father as he railed into her he likely would have continued but after that freudian slip that was as far as the boys adrenaline could take him before he coughed a good sum of blood where his eyes and body weakened with his skin increasing in paleness. He'd lay down to stare back at the ceiling where the coldest string of four words came out of his mouth laden with venom. "Get the ******** out." Akito would then thusly fade from conciousness. This was what waiting in the room would eventually lead to. His condition critical but could now be serviced easier.
However, where this conversation ended the ends remained un tied. It was more than likely history would repeat itself again the minute he woke up come whenever that was. A hospital was a busy place 24 hour sedation and consistent monitoring and immediate responses to Akito's self destructiveness had its limitations. It would only take one day where the system couldn't keep up to spell his end granting his desired wish and if the impending rumors of a war were true that day may be sooner rather than later. If Kagerou truly desired to save this boy she'd have to start learning. The culture of his bloodline, the importance of the tag {Kemonomimi} in its regard, and even perhaps find this 'dad' whom was anywhere aside his suicidal sons bedside seeing as it would have been gross negligence to have not attempted to contact him, if Kagerou questioned the staff she'd find they had attempted to reach him several times only to later find out the man location, that being as of recently, in prison.
Kagerou retained her composure, smiling ambiguously and observing until Akito passed out from his overexertion.
She had, of course, been carefully observing him with the Diagnosis technique the entire time, making sure that he did not teeter into dangerous territory with his blood loss.
The moment she diagnosed that he had lost consciousness, Kagerou moved forward and quickly stabilized Akito while also administering a dose of sedatives to keep him down. Only after she had ensured that he would sleep soundly did she call in the other staff so they could finish handling the situation. She gave them a brief smile to welcome them back to work, but by and large, the positivity on her face had largely been replaced with concern and worry.
She wouldn't regret the approach she had taken, but she would admit that she couldn't be surprised that Akito did not want to talk to her. No matter how carefully she maneuvered, first impressions would always be a hit or a miss, and in this case, she could only consider it a miss.
"Pompous b***h." "Holier than thou." Kagerou could only sigh once she left the emergency room and stood for a brief moment in the now empty hallway. It wasn't that she was offended by the insults, but they did hurt.
However, she had gained some valuable information because of it. From here... she had some options. Kagerou weighed each choice.
By this point, Kagerou had reached the front desk and struck up a conversation with the receptionists. In due time, she managed to snag a couple of the MAs that had tended to Akito at one point or another. From their combined knowledge, Kagerou managed to clear up some confusing points.
1) Kemonomimi referred to, essentially, half-breeds. One nurse happened to mention it was pitiful how the purebred Kemono would ostracize those who looked too human. Kagerou understood now that she had it reversed.
2) "Dad" was mentioned with such anger that there was no way Kagerou could not notice it was a freudian slip. She had several theories, but a single sentence was a foolish thing to base a decision on. She was interested in knowing more about this father, though, and casually asked if Akito's guardian was present. When she received the negative, she digged deeper and with the help of those present, they managed to find the records that indicated Akito's father was incarcerated.
Oh.
Kagerou visibly sighed. "I wonder if I can take my work home with me..." she muttered under her breath. When the nurses looked at her with very confused expressions, she clarified, "Joking! A joke!".
She had plans to leave the village for a little bit to advance her training to the next stage, but it seemed like she would need to postpone it for a bit. "Please write me the necessary documents to visit Akito's father for reasons pertaining to his son's medical health," Kagerou professionally requested as she casually leaned against the counter. A finger twirling her hair, she added, "Furthermore, I'd like to request a mission be placed to find a companion for Akito. They will be responsible for ensuring he doesn't hurt himself, but I would like whoever takes on the mission to consider themselves his playmate rather than his supervisor. If possible, my recommendation for this job will be Akoto Senju, but I understand if she isn't available." If there were any routine forms Kagerou needed to fill out on her end to complete either request, she would already be jotting in the required information while speaking, having pulled out the paperwork while she was leaning against the counter.
Once everything was prepared, Kagerou left for the CORE compound with a mighty yawn.

Dissatisfied by her cluelessness during the Sero pod event, Kagerou spent days researching sealing, and through sheer repetition, it's become easier for her to use seals. She can write seals up to her body rank on the fly, using even her own chakra manifestation if necessary. Writing a seal takes up the same activation as using it, and in the case when her chakra manifestation is used to form a seal, her chakra becomes visible to the naked eye and she can only extend her manifestation as far as 1m away from her body. For the purposes of this PA, Fuuinjutsu includes the Kuchiyose techniques. When a chakra manifestation seal absorbs something, said something is considered to be stored within her chakra manifestation until it is later released with the appropriate technique. • Blood Moon - In the light of the blood moon, Kagerou maintained her calm and spread it to others. Since then, such a practice has imprinted itself into her eiseijutsu. Targets of Kagerou's eiseijutsu can korabo their kai with the eiseijutsu technique, increasing the strength of their kai by one rank. As per korabo rules, the eiseijutsu technique and kai must be the same base rank.
Medical Job Attributes
• Iryo-nin I - Kagerou can retrain [Medical] jutsu into those with a [MEDIC] tag on the end of them. [MEDIC] jutsu exhibit healing properties equal to their rank and are considered to be [Medical] and eiseijutsu. • A Sound Mind I - Due to her training in the psychiatry medical field, Kagerou knows when someone is deceiving her. Note that this does not mean she knows the details of the deception, such as how she is being deceived, what she is being deceived on, to what extent the deception goes, etc. This PA can be countered by either an opposing PA and a higher rank in the psychiatry medical field or by a technique above or at Kagerou's body rank that can obscure truth and lies. • A Sound Mind II - Due to her training in the psychiatry medical field, Kagerou is adept at deceiving others. She doesn't give those telltale signs, down to even the smallest detail, that others use as indicators of truth and lie. This PA can be countered by either an opposing PA and equal ranks in the psychiatry medical field or by a technique above or at Kagerou's body rank that can discern truth from lies.

After a restful sleep at her second home, her Arashi residence, Kagerou arrived at the doors of her third home, the Arashi hospital, with a bright and shining morning smile. She had slept a full 12 hours after reaching her bedroom, woke up in the wee hours of the morning, and spent the time left reading various texts in the privacy of her own room. She had tried a handful of medical techniques at home. The rest, she tried them while working at the hospital. [Learned 15 techniques]
While working on her job, one of her colleagues made a recommendation: Kagerou should try visiting the kage's office again to get permission for higher ranking medical missions. Originally, she hadn't been too sold on the idea since she had just gotten B-rank permission yesterday, but as her coworker began musing on why Kagerou was still chuunin, she answered that it was worth an attempt at least. Proving the integrity behind her words, Kagerou left for the office during her break after a couple hours of work.
Exit to... kage's office according to the post, but actually skipping that to go to the academy.
Akoto came to be at the hospital at the request of Kagerou. There was apparently some kind of mission for her exclusively that caught her interest. Before that though, she wanted to get a head start and catch up on some past reading. She wandered into the hospital training room and read up on a few low level techniques taught to all of the youngsters. Akoto turned the page and would continued to reorganize herself after the long hiatus she had been away. Kagerou must have missed her, based off of her reaction to seeing her again. Not that she was complaining or anything. Her hand moved upwards from the page to cast a simple massage technique without so much as a pixel of effort. Now came time for the darker medical techniques. Sure there was a certain stigma against using them but the pipsqueak would need all the help she could get in a fight. One in particular was a pretty standard muscle shock technique that could freeze an opponent if they were close by. Akoto would try it out a couple of times on the CPR dummies before she found herself comfortable with her level of expertise. Some more situational techniques for the mind. Though she wasn't too keen on how Shindan was "only to be used in certain situations". The quiet Genin practiced on the dummies again while wondering just how it would feel on an actual person. She prayed that the day would never come but after the news of Uzu...Akoto shook her head. After the bout of simple techniques came time for the ones which required effort. Each was met with a burning determination that drove Akoto to further her skills. The healing hands technique had always given her the most amount of trouble just because of it's somewhat complex nature. Though she did her best to at least try. It took about a few tries, but Akoto would know the pattern of hand seals by heart by the time she had finished. The last two which she wanted to know were a rather deadly combination in the right hands. The laughing gas technique to get the victim to open up and then the lung collapse to make them regret getting near her. Each was rather easy to learn, almost if she had a knack for it. The girl walked out of the training room and hurried over towards the patient room with the dog!

You can cast bloodline techniques through one-handed seals. > Naturalization l With their connection to natural energy, the Senju have learned to eliminate the usage of handseals for mokuton, instead able to form ninjutsu with simplistic somatic actions such as claps, waves of the arms, stomps etc. In addition, they are capable of creating their Mokuton techniques from any surface that isn't in use by another ninja. This includes their own Mokuton techniques. > {Senju} All Mokuton techniques that absorb chakra from demons do not confer that chakra to the Senju, rather simply naturalizing it and releasing it into the world harmlessly.

When Akito woke up he'd see himself bandaged and tied to IV's again. Where in his eyes would grow red again as he lifted himself half off the bed and turned his head to look at the IV line to readily rip them out again...only to see a young girl in the room with him. Perhaps it was the slight tenderness in his soul but he didn't want to expose someone young to blood and gore...at least so long as she kept up the role of just being a little girl and not someone in the medical field.
"Who the he...heck are you! You can't just go walking into strangers rooms what are ya dumb." Akito would then pomf himself back in bed like a good boy but only because of the earlier reason's. "If they're trying to send kids now to talk me out of it, it won't work. Once you're outta here I'll get right back to what I want to do."
The Following Mission has Been Assigned. Name: Hair of The Dog Rank: D Location: Arashigakure Time: 3/12/2019 - If Patient is Left Alone During Time of Impending War Assigned - Akoto Senju Description: One Kagerou Kiritani a medical professional and psychiatrist has put in a request to keep company with a patient of hers. Placing a personal request for one Akoto Senju. She stressed that she would like the individual to treat the patient as though they were a playmate and not a patient. The patient is prone to violence so its advised to keep one's distance and moreover ensure that they remain alive until her return. Medical professionals will be on stand-by. Mission Success: +100 Ac for every post spent conversing with the patient. Mission Failure: One Dead Dog Boy and One Sad Psychiatrist
It wasn't long before Akoto would just look at the patient with her stoic gaze. By the looks of his body and the IV lines, he was clearly wounded but it was a first upon seeing other people just actively trying to avoid getting treatment. The medi-nin child would be called dumb and he would get back in bed begrudgingly. "Actually I can." Akoto said in a somewhat robotlike tone. "As per the standard procedures for genin level shinobi of Arashi, all levels within the village who possess eiseijutsu are granted clearance to the hospital unless prior violations have been met. Page 52, Article IV." After a moment, she would kick the door closed behind her and progress forward to the patient. Maybe he might find it weird that such a young face acted so strange. Instead of being energetic and lively, Akoto was calm and rather suppressed. "I am Akoto, and I have been asked to look after you by Kagerou. Why are you trying to leave? If you had torn the IV lines you surely would have damaged your body in the process."
