Huey felt a little better, now that he'd been forgiven. Of course, he still had to apologize to and hope for the forgiveness from Emolga himself, but until then he forced himself to carry what little optimism he'd managed to muster up. With what little feel-good attitude still intact the blonde child excused himself to find Nurse Joy, wanting to know personally the condition of the flying squirrel.
"Oh, you're the little boy the pokemon brought in earlier," was the first thing Nurse Joy noted once Huey arrived at the front counter, her attention switching from whatever papers she'd been looking over to him. "How are you feeling? Do your arms hurt? Are you hungry?" Huey gave a smile. Nurse Joy was a true maternal figure, she fit in perfectly with her work environment. "No I'm fine, really. Thank you for asking though," he assured the pink-haired woman but turned when he felt something brush against his back. Ah, yes. He wasn't surprised to find Yuki right behind him, he'd accepted long ago that, whenever the Froslass was out of her pokeball, she became his shadow, never leaving his side. It was comforting, in its own way.
"I'd actually like to ask you about the Emolga that was brought in with me," Huey explained, turning back to Joy. "Oh, yes." Her tone dropped from the easy and amicable one she'd previously used and Huey couldn't help but to frown gently, his expression reflected on the woman's face. "We'd actually like to keep him here under observation for another day or two," she informed. "Your pokemon came in here with a few serious wounds, those scratches on his body have impeded his flying ability quite a bit. There's no longer a risk of infection, since we cleaned it, but we also need to worry about the head injury he sustained..." Nurse Joy continued on, only to trail off, realizing that the stream of bad news was only depressing the boy further.
She tried to put on a bright smile and instantly changed tactics. "However, he's woken up at least twice since arriving, and although a bit disorientated there doesn't seem to be any lasting damage to his brain. Of course, we'll need to run a few tests, but we're certain he's going to make a full recovery! Those scratches won't be permanent and with a bit of physical therapy, he should be up and flying again in no time."
Hoping ending her report on a positive note had changed his disposition Nurse Joy offered Huey another bright smile. Her prognosis, albeit a bit premature, wasn't filled entirely with doom and gloom, and so Huey had to settle with being optimistic, though from what he gathered Emolga would remain one of 'his' pokemon for a bit longer, he'd also be staying in Castelia a bit longer.

Thanking Nurse Joy, Huey returned to his group to relay the information. Klefki didn't seem too surprised--or maybe he did, it was hard to tell...---and Yuki translated for Huey the pokemon's message: he'd be staying in the pokemon center until Emolga had woken up and was given a clean bill of health. Huey could accept that, and respected his loyalty to his friend.
"I'm going to go train for a little bit and then take on the gym leader," he explained his plans to Emolga and Dianna, since the latter hadn't been around when he'd told the others earlier, though he wasn't sure if most of what he said even made sense to him. Wild pokemon weren't usually aware of gym battles and contests, those were events reserved for domesticated pokemon. "I'll be back after that, and if Emolga is awake by then I'll explain the situation to him."
Klefki nodded firmly before he turned his back to the group, his attention now solely on his friend. Huey took that as his cue to leave and motioned for his pokemon to follow after him. They hadn't gotten far, however, when Nurse Joy stopped them, this time accompanied by Officer Jenny. Huey, who'd never actually talked to an officer of the law, couldn't help but begin to fidget. Police officers only came when you were in trouble... "I'm just here to ask you a few questions," the woman in blue explained gently, taking note of the boy's frightened expression.
...And when they an ongoing investigation and needed to fill out a report. Right, he'd been the victim of a crime.. and assaulted. The police proooobably needed a few questions answered.
Huey became visibly relaxed once he realized he wasn't going to be taken away to jail--could 11 year olds even be taken into jail?--and sighed. "Oh, okay.. sure."

Being questioned, Huey found out, was actually relatively fun. You got to see the inside of a police station and were even given chips and a juice box, BBQ and grape flavored respectively. The questions were rather simple: what the man had been wearing, where had Huey met him, what kind of pokemon he wanted, and the details of the attempted kidnapping. Yuki even offered up some information, giving a thorough description of the area she'd left the man in, he'd be found in no time. At one point Huey even found himself with a sketch artist, describing the man's appearance as best he could. The drawing the woman presented was spot on, Huey was impressed by her abilities and told her so.
The only part Huey didn't like was afterwards, when Officer Jenny insisted he call his parents and inform them of what had happened, she wouldn't let him leave until he did just that, and even stood there quietly while he made the call. "H-hello?" Huey spoke into his phone when the line was picked up, but quickly cleared his throat when he realized he sounded nervous. "Huey?" He recognized the voice instantly and identified it as his father's. Well, that was a bit of a relief. Better him than Angelia, he felt as if her reaction wouldn't have been too calm. "Hi dad, I'm at the police station in Castelia," he started, and over the line heard his father draw in a quick breath. No parent ever wanted to hear that their child was calling from a police station. Especially when that child wasn't even a teenager yet.
"It's okay though, I'm not in trouble. I was just.. involved.. in an.. incident?" He wasn't too sure how to word or properly explain and so he ended up handing his phone off to Officer Jenny in the hopes that she'd do a better job of it. "Mr. Greens? Yes, hello, I'm the Officer Jenny stationed in Castelia, we just finished up an interview with your son." There was a pause and the police officer listened carefully to the other end, nodding her head and humming every so often. "No sir, he wasn't hurt. He was just involved in an attempted pokemon theft, the perpetrator is being picked up right now, sir." Officer Jenny hummed once again. "Yes sir, yes sir. Well... okay. If you have anymore questions feel free to ask call the station, I'll go ahead and give you the number."

Once their conversation was over Officer Jenny back to Huey and mouthed something along the lines of, 'you have a good father,' before she stepped away to allow Huey to continue his on-call conversation. "So." His father was the first to speak, his tone indiscernible. "You're really alright, aren't you? I know Officer Jenny wouldn't lie to me, but.. I need to hear it from you." Huey offered a nervous laugh before he gave an actual, verbal, reply. "Yes, dad. I'm really okay, all I got were a few scratches." Of course, he wouldn't go into detail about how he got those scratches, how deep they were, and the punch he'd received..
There was a sigh on the other line, a deep, deciding one. "Alright then. That's good." His father drew in a breath. "I'm taking the next train out to come see you," his father announced, and already he could hear the man moving about, the sound of a chair scraping against the floor audible in the background. "I'll tell your mother what happened, last I heard from her she was in Sinnoh, but I should be there in the next three hours. Come meet me there."
There was no point in arguing, only his mother and youngest sister could ever sway his father's mind-- unless he was extremely determined, then nothing would make him see otherwise, and Huey admitted to himself that it would be nice to be with family after this. The aftershock hadn't quite set in yet, so having his father around would certainly help. He wasn't a grown-up quite yet.
"Alright dad," Huey conceded, a mixture of relief and anxiety in his tone. "I'll see you in three hours.""Three hours," his father agreed. "Love you, stay safe. See you soon." After his father hung up Huey slipped his phone back into his pocket. "I'm going to see my dad soon," he told Officer Jenny, in case she hadn't heard his end of the exchange on the phone. She nodded, satisfied, and smiled before offered to walk him to the front of the police station, from there they'd part ways. She to do... whatever paperwork he imagined she'd have to do, and he to start training for his third badge.

Huey was thoughtfully silent as he walked the city streets, though made sure to keep an eye out for any wild pokemon. To keep from taking up too much space he'd returned all but Beep, who was to be the pokemon he concentrated mainly on training. The sheep was content with that, his tail weaving along in the air to show his excitement. He was going to get stronger, he'd made a promise to himself and now Huey; a superhero couldn't afford to be weak!
It didn't take long for them to find an opponent, though it wasn't the Zubat or Grimer Huey expected. It was a human, a girl who, from what he could tell, was only a few years older than him and leaned against a bicycle rack. She turned to look at him when she felt his curious gaze on her and raised an eyebrow, which ended up disappearing behind her bike helmet. From Huey she looked down to Beep, who bleated out a challenge. She smirked, no words needed, and pushed herself off the rack and placed a hand on her hip, where conveniently her pokeballs were located.

Huey was contemplatively quiet as the girl withdrew her Gallade with a huff, sending out her next pokemon right after, Beep didn't need to be told what to do and with a might baa reared himself up in preparation for the next battle. While he watched the two pokemon go at it, issuing out attacks when he could, he was reminded of Tybalt, his Kirlia. He knew for a fact that he was ready to evolve into his final evolution, he also knew that he was still his second strongest pokemon, but the psychic had held off on evolving, since he was still unsure which form he wanted to take: the graceful Gardevior or the gallant Gallade. It would probably be a good idea to check in on him to see if he'd made a decision yet. There was absolutely no rush of course, he didn't mind Tybalt staying a Kirlia for as long as he wanted, but he was still curious.
Beep gave a victorious cry as the Absol fell victim to a powerful Iron Tail to the ribs, his hoofs scraping the ground in an anticipatory manner. Huey couldn't help but to smile at his pokemon's attitude, he knew the sheep wasn't the bloodthirsty type, and despite how vicious his attacks were he knew he always managed to hold back.

Camri failed to swallow back the snort of disgust that bubbled forth, nor hid the look of anger that brightened her gaze and took several, long seconds, to ebb away. "Thank you for the battle!" Huey chirped, ignorant of her animosity towards him and for several seconds went as far as to ignore her as he knelt down to tend to Beep, who had clopped back to him proudly. He tugged his fingers gently through his fleece, petting him properly until he pulled away to get a few potions out of his bag to treat the sheep with.
Even if he had been aware of the bicyclist's anger, he wouldn't have understood where it'd come from. Sure, she had lost the battle but she had requested for a short battle. That was exactly what she'd gotten, in his mind this was a win-win situation.

Huey was still tending to Beep when a scrawny man, donned in a crisp white lab coat, came jogging into view. He stopped in front of Camri, his chest heaving from exertion and while he tried to wheeze out a greeting he fumbled to push his glasses up the bridge of his nose. "There you are!" The bicyclist exclaimed, the expression of anger remaining on her face for a second later before it melted into pouty adoration. "Caaaaam! You're late," she whined and jutted an accusatory finger out at Huey, "and while I was waiting this kid beat me!" She sidled up to her boyfriend, wrapping both arms around his forearm before she rested her head on his shoulder and gave him the Lillipup-eyes, "avenge me?"
Cameron looked between Huey, who had now lifted his head to watch their interaction, and then back to Camri. "Uh, sure. I'll certainly try," he conceded and groaned when the young woman forced the oxygen from his lungs with her bear hug. "I-If this young man is willing to do another battle, of course," he sputtered out, his face turning red from oxygen deprivation while he awaited Huey's answer. "Oh uhm..." he looked to Beep for his opinion, he would be the one battling after all, though once he gave a resounding bleat the boy gave a firm nod of the head.

As Beep stepped back to return the proper space to the battlefield Huey couldn't help but to purse his lips, taking in the wounds his pokemon had taken. That Ponyta had certainly done more damage than Camri's pokemon had, but he was still kicking and more than ready to face whatever came next, and that came in the form of a spritely Nidoran, its small form and color revealing its gender. Beep gave a nod to the female, to which she returned, and charged forward.

Although Beep didn't leave the battle completely unscathed he puffed out his chest with pride as yet another pokemon fell at his hands-- er, hooves. Cameron didn't have much to say about the defeat, and unlike his girlfriend he kept a neutral, almost pleasant, expression across his face. He returned Nidoran with a simple murmur of thanks and pocketed the pokeball. Beside him Camri had become rather animated, jumping from foot to foot and practically clapping with glee. "Go on, baby!" she exclaimed. "Send out your next pokemon, show that Mareep who's boss!"
Huey couldn't help but to raise an eyebrow. Apparently Cameron's next pokemon was something to be excited over, and the mystery certainly helped to rise the tension. "Oh geez, Camri..." Cameron was far less enthusiastic, or maybe humble was the word, but nevertheless sent forth his next pokemon. An Entei who, upon its release, stood tall with its chest out and back straight, in that moment it was the epitome of regality.
It certainly had Huey's attention, whose jaw had slackened in awe. It took him a minute to remember that such a great beast was opponent, and Beep had to jog him from out of his stupor. "Oh, uhm... right!" From his bag he fumbled out the bottle of water he'd purchased earlier, Beep was definitely going to need his energy replenished for this one.

It was a bit funny, Camri had more of a reaction to Entei's defeat than the pokemon's trainer, who only sighed gently and shook his head. "What!? No way! How could..." Now that he thought about it, she was more verbal about her boyfriend's loss than her own. She must've been protective over him, or something. It was very strange to the young boy of eleven. What he did understand, however, was that yet another one of his pokemon's had beaten a legendary, it was certainly impressive!
Though... looking at Beep, he wasn't certain he could take much more. The poor thing was wobbling on his feet, though he held his chin up high and gave a weary battle-cry before he shot Huey a pleading look, he wanted to stay in the battle. Huey pulled a finger to his lip uncertainly. "How many more pokemon do you have?" he asked Cameron, needing a few solid factors before he made a decision.
"Two," Cameron answered, new pokeball already in the palm of his hand. "But, don't worry.." he began to chuckle sheepishly, "they're not very strong, I actually just got them." From behind him Camri stumbled back, "Cam! Don't tell him that!" she chided, her hands running through her hair in exasperation. "I don't see why I shouldn't. It's information worth knowing, besides you know what my other pokemon are.""Yeah, but come on, Cam! There's no need to tell him that!""I-it's a bit too late for that.."
Realizing that he still had a battle to deal with the scientist turned back around and gave Huey an apologetic look. "Sorry. Uh, anyway... I only have two more pokemon, if you want to switch your pokemon I'll wait for you to do that." Huey pursed his lips thoughtfully and glanced down at Beep. He only had two pokemon left, and they were relatively weak, according to Cameron. He didn't think he was lying either, considering his girlfriend's reactions.

Only one more to go. Huey reminded himself of this, a small smile slowly creeping its way across his features at this prospect. Beep certainly had grown much stronger, this much was obvious, and rightly so! He had just finished two battles, back-to-back. Well, almost finished. He had finished one and was on the verge of finishing the second, Cameron just needed to send out his next pokemon. When the pokemon was finally sent out, Huey recognized it instantly as a native of his home region. He felt a smidgeon of nostalgia come over him as the Jumpluff gently floated in the air, using the slightest of breezes to elevate it to a comfortable height. That feeling was quickly diminished, however, as Beep charged forth and slammed himself into the spritely pokemon, knocking it unconscious in an instant.

Knowing that it was in poor taste, Huey held back from cheering and contended himself with a smile, though he found that he had to duck his head in an attempt to hide his face when that smile grew into a beamish grin. He was more proud of Beep's progress than their victory, he had just grown so strong it would've been a crime not to take notice of this, but another win under their belt certainly didn't hurt.
"Thank you for the battle!" the boy extended his gratitude to both half of the quarters, since he'd never been given the chance to thank Camri for her battle earlier. "Heh." Cameron gave a weak chuckle as he returned his Jumpluff, and had barely done so before he was tackled into a hug by his better half. "Oh Cam, you did so well! I don't even care about the fact that you lost~" Huey's thanks seemed to have gone straight over her head, her attention was solely on her boyfriend. "Let's go heal up our pokemon and then go on our date," she suggested, once she'd finally stepped back to give him a bit of breathing room. "Y-yeah, sounds good." Cameron agreed, but had the decency to wave farewell to Huey before he was dragged off by his girlfriend.
That had... certainly been interesting, though Camri had suggested a good idea; and by that, of course, he meant the part about getting his pokemon healed up, he was much too young to begin dating. With that he returned Beep, simply for the sake of easier traveling, and made a quick trip to the Pokecenter.

Huey looked absently over at the clock while he waited for Nurse Joy to return his pokemon, his face lighting up in surprise when he realized an hour had already past since he'd left the police station. His father would arrive in two hours, and he doubted he'd get any training in or be allowed to challenge the gym leader while he was with him. It wasn't as if he was in any rush to get his third gym badge, or maybe he was... his pokemon were getting awfully strong. Although he'd never experienced it first-hand, he knew that, if he didn't have the appropriate badges, there was a danger of disobeying him. He certainly didn't want that.
So it was decided then. With a nod of confirmation Huey released Dianna from her pokeball and greeted his pokemon with a wave before he excused himself to drop down onto his knees and pull from his bag a few neatly wrapped candies. "Here ya go, Dianna!" he chirped, handing her off two. He curled his fingers around the remaining three, though began to unwrap one of them slowly while he waited for Beep to return. It didn't take too much longer for that to happen, Nurse Joy handing him the pokeball with a nod and the usual "we hope to see you again", and didn't hesitate to release the Mareep from his confines.
"Eat these, Beep. They'll make you stronger." He presented the, now unwrapped, Rare candies and couldn't help but giggle as he ate them from out of his palm, his lips tickling the skin.
