"we are in a crazy situation here peppermint." he pet the dog again. "2 of your 3 masters are unconscious and yogtz is in the infirmary helping. You're the only friend I have now." he sat on the floor near a couch and continued petting the dog. "I don't know why I'm explaining this to a dog but, I didn't have many friends back home. I was a decent student but was known more as a pickpocket. I only turned to crime as a means of escape. My family was constantly sick and I was the one always well. I would go insane as a nursemaid. There was no freedom. I tried to rob Eric because weapons go for high money on the black market. The more unique, the more you got." he continued petting the dog and chuckled. "if Eric wakes up he will think I lost my mind." he continued chuckling. " I'm talking to a dog. I'm just so... Crazed." he put his head in his hands.
Meanwhile Eric was still dreaming. He had been sent on a mission to destroy a demon that could blind people. Lawrence was there and a dwarf as well. The dwarf had the classic thick, red beard and short stature. The demon appeared suddenly out of the ground.

Lawrence began to whimper. He had begun to give in to all the stress and regret of his life decisions. "I'm sorry Eric. I'm such a burden to all I meet. My life is a mess." Lawrence began to lament his life and looked at the letter. He folded it and put it into an envelope. He held it in his hands. How can I send such a happy letter from such a dark place? he looked towards Eric. "what should I do? I'm all out of ideas and I'm usually the creative one." he put his head down and tried to cheer up but couldn't.
Eric was fighting the demon. The dwarf had pinned his axe in the demon's tail preventing its movement. Lawrence ran to the dwarf and began to help him up. "Go Eric, my brother, execute this horrid creature." he said. Eric raised his blade to strike but the demonic snake lashed out at and hit him in the shoulder. He winced and dropped his longsword. He decided to use his desperation weapon. It was a gunpowder filled stone with a fuse. "Lawrence light me up." Lawrence lit an arrow and shot it towards the fuse. It hit and lit the fuse. Eric strafed around the demon and threw the bomb at into the monsters mouth. The bomb exploded and the demons head flew off towards Lawrence. A fang lodged itself in his eye. Eric was blinded by the light given off by the body of the demon after death. He heard Lawrence scream but couldn't find him. He screamed in pain but could not be heard. He felt something lodged in his neck. The dwarf had began punching Lawrence. A huge dog cam and attacked the dwarf. Lawrence and Eric were laying semiconscious in the desert. Eric reached out as his vision blurred and he coughed up blood into the sand. His vision finally blackened and he woke up.

Yogtz went into a corner and thought over what just happened. So many nobodies in one place. How did I survive? he regained his composure several minutes later and flew over to check on Eric. hmmmm his breathing has improved but he still hasn't woken up. Damn it two down and I haven't seen Lawrence. he put the covers back on Eric and flew to the couch. In doing so he bumped into Lawrence. "sorry man, I didnt mean to do that" Lawrence remained silent with his head down. " is something wrong Lawrence? What happened here?"
Lawrence seemed to cough up these words. "nothing happened. Nothing at all" he put his head back down.
Yogtz put an arm around lawrence's shoulder. Lawrence was shocked at this.
"it's alright buddy. We can survive this ordeal if we stick together. You, me, and namine will stay together through all this."
"tch namine can't be trusted. She just wanders into our life because someone dared her to date one of us. She chose him over me."
"are you jealous of Eric? I'm sure the same would happen if she chose you."
"I doubt it. My story isn't worth sharing. It's filled with nothing but misery and lies"
Yogtz gave Lawrence a hard slap across the face. He grabbed him by his collar.
" It's not what you say it is damn it! Your life is great compared to others. There are people who would kill for as many friends as you do. Now get out of this damn depression your in and get on with your life." yogtz was furious. He let Lawrence go and started to breathe angrily.
"you b*****d." Lawrence got up to smack yogtz back but couldn't bring himself to it. "you're right I need to learn how to be proud of what I have. Sure I have a ton of crap in my life but..." Lawrence paused to try and come up with words but couldn't come up with anything. He put his hand out to shake yogtz's. They shook hands. "thanks man. I would have done something stupid had you not come back." Lawrence said. "my heart is still heavy though."
"you'll get over it someday and you're welcome." they went over to the alchemy equipment and made medicine for Eric. They theorized a waking potion for namine but all the test potions exploded.

Namine was still in a deep sleep. She rolled off the couch and onto the floor with a thud. She hugged her pillow and resumed sleeping.

Peppermint trotted to Eric and barked.

Namine smiled as she was placed back on the couch. In her dream, she noticed Erci's hair was longer than it was. Wait! So this isn't real! I'm dreaming! She looked around and felt everything. It all seemed so perfect and real. Dream Eric has disappeared, leaving Namine in a room all alone. No doors, No students, No way of escape. She grunted and punched the wall. "Dammit! Wake up!" Namine in the real world rolled over.

After being awake for a few hours and drinking his breakfast Eric was relaxed. Eric had been put on a liquid diet because of the injury to his neck. How degrading. Im forced to drink food like some fledgling bird. This really sucks. To add to it my girl is knocked out because of me. he thought sitting up in his bed. He had regained some of his energy but just started to feel the numbing pain in his leg. He did not know how he broke his ankle. He focused his hearing to try and overhear Lawrence and yogtz conversing.
"He's not ready to be moving. He hardly can control his muscles." yogtz said.
"he's been struggling to get out of that bed since he first awoke. I think he can be moved to the wheelchair with assistance." Lawrence replied.
"first we must wait for the girl to wake up. We need as much help as we can."
"she has a name yogtz. I'd prefer if you use it. She is not some bloody object."
"don't get so defensive. We still need her and so will Eric. Knowing him he's either trying to listen in on us..." damn I've been found out Eric thought.
"or he's thinking he's become a burden and has no use to us." yogtz sighed. "you two are just crazy Lawrence. Neither of you should try and shoulder everything yourselves. When you do you end up trying to steal the burden away from one another for whatever reason. All of us can handle ourselves in a scrap. The exception being me since moogles don't fight at all." yogtz chuckled a little.
"let's just hope namine gets up soon. We're in a crazy enough situation already. My heart is heavy from the near loss of Eric, I don't want my one other friend to be injured as well." Lawrence let out a heavy sigh.
"you'll always have me. Moogles live a ridiculously long time according to some."
"Way to be a braggart yogtz" Lawrence said lightly shoving him. They laughed for a few minutes and got up.
I'm such a hindrance to them but they still care for me? Could it be just sympathy for my condition? Eric thought still sitting up in the bed. I have to start moving. I cat stay here forever.

Lawrence heard namine. " Are you alright namine?" he went by her and looked for signs of injury. "did the fall affect you at all?" yogtz was still making a surplus of potions. Eric was startled when namine suddenly woke up. His heart raced for a few seconds.
