"It won't be!" Oliver said as he finished the last piece of chocolate mud cake "I have finished and feel fine" he said as he burped and sat down, waiting for the others to get up.
Sayako glared at Oliver "Oliver, what have I said about burping?" She glared at him.
"Excuse me" he said sheepishly, having had manners drummed into him by her, his mother had started to teach him but not barely enough before she went away.
"Good boy" she said smiling at him.
"No, you wont" Odessa giggled before realising something and looked at Gersif slyly "you know, we still have to talk about where you are going to be staying" she said quietly to him but in a serious tone "do you honestly think I am just going to let you, some stranger I have known for a day, if that, just move into my home? You have another thing coming if you think I am just going to let you move in and have you make yourself at home while we play happy family" she said, actually thinking about packing up her things and looking for a new cave for them all, she was going to hate moving but she now had some male she has barely gotten to know, if she had gotten to know him at all, and a pup to worry about now, her cave was not going to be big enough for all three of them and his and her stuff, if he has any stuff besides the runes.

Gersif couldn't help himself, she sounded so serious and he just had to laugh, of course he wasn't the type of guy to take advantage of such a situation but of course she couldn't know that having known him for so short of time, but still it was quite funny how serious she was, especially after how comfortable she had gotten on his shoulder and with the licks. He tried to contain his laughter but it hurt too much so he laughed until he cried and tried to catch his breath and composure. He hoped she didn't take offense to his outburst but it just struck him as funny.
Once he settled down he attempted an answer his mouth in an amusedly playful smile as he tried to keep himself from laughing again "Wouldn't dream of imposing." He should clarify but he had to keep forcing his smile down lest he laugh again "I prefer the stars as my roof." He had rationalized to himself a long time ago that he preferred to sleep outside mainly because he lived most of his life without a place to sleep, so he convinced himself he liked it that way, telling himself that if the gods wanted it any other way he would have had a home. Years of telling himself this had convinced him he enjoyed it and the old miseries had been long forgotten. She was even cute so serious and he started chuckling again as he watched her being so serious. It was a good thing he wasn't that type of guy cause he really was looking forward to getting to 'know' her better. Could you blame him? He was a guy after all and she just couldn't not be cute.

Odessa pouted and pushed him "hey! I had to at least try being serious, I can't have you thinking you just had full access to my home!" She said as she took a drink, nearly finishing her drink she licked her lips and looked at the other "and too bad, you are going to be moving in with us whether you like it or not" she said as she looked at Oliver who was now climbing all over Thane "how am I meant to explain his father wants to sleep outside the cave? You have till I find another cave but when I do you are moving in with Oliver and I. But you can sleep out under the stars sometimes but mostly you and I will be living in the same cave as Oliver" she said sternly, not wanting Oliver to ask questions or get the vibe that they were fighting, if this pup has a mother and father she was going to give him one and if there was one thing her parents had taught her it was that families stay together, especially parents, so she wasnt going to have Oliver question them about whether they were fighting or not "besides, you are meant to not make me upset, this will upset me if you don't so you are going to have to live with us whether you like it or not" she said smirking a little with a playful glint in her eye, yes it was wrong to use this card but hey, she WAS meant to be Calliope after all.

He chuckled again "Ok ok you're the boss" he put his paws up in mock surrender. His smile stretched from ear to ear as he tried to restrain himself from another out burst. He wasn't opposed to the idea of sharing a cave with her, he'd be out of his mind to oppose such an idea, he had simply wanted to ease her mind over the kind of guy he was. "You know you can't scold me for making myself at home in your cave and in the same breath insist I stay in it." He couldn't keep the laughter out of his voice though he had tried to sound reprimanding. He licked her cheek "But you know you're awfully cute when you try to be serious" his eyes shown with a playful teasing laughter, he couldn't remember ever feeling like this, he was too young to be interested in romance while his life was still a happy one with his family and after that too harsh to ever consider it.
He wondered how thing might have turned out differently had his parents or grandfather survived. All things to a purpose and this was his, his life had led him here and he appreciated it all the more for it. He nudged her playfully with his shoulder, not really sure how to flirt but it had gotten a good reception last time. He just couldn't stop smiling and his cheeks started to ache from it. A first for him though it hurt he hoped it wasn't the last.

"Nice to know you see it that way" she said as she placed her head over her paws "and that is true, I shouldn't but then you saw through my sternness so really the first part about scolding you" she said as she looked up at him "is invalid so we can just ignore that I even said that" she said as she lent over and picked up a muffin and nibbled on it, blushing a little as he complimented her "t...thank you but you shouldn't be saying that when we are trying to discuss something like letting you live with me or not" she said, knowing it was a lame excuse for why a kitsu should or should not compliment her but meh.

"I think it's a perfect time to compliment you" he smiled sitting more upright trying to make himself look suave and confident. "Buttering you up and all that." He flashed a smile at her joking, he relaxed his stance. Putting on a show was never his thing though he had seen it work rather well for others. "Besides" he lent down to whisper in her ear "I wouldn't say it if it wasn't true" a lick to her cheek and then "I don't think you could stop being cute if you tried."
He wondered if they were making a scene and decided to hazard a glance and Oliver and the others. If they were staring he'd back off a bit, it would be awkward otherwise. He had surprised himself though, he seemed to have learned a lot from watching others, he seemed to be doing well so far in the flirting department, he just hoped he could keep it up

"I guess flirting is more important then Oliver" she said clearing her throat, trying to get matters back on track so, just this once, she was ignoring the lick "we ARE here because of him you know" she said quietly, finding that there was a time and place for everything and right now flirting wasn't for this time and this place...or at least not with others around "and you haven't seen me in the morning she said looking at him and giving him a wink "I will remind you of what you said when you have seen me then" she said as she finished up her muffin and it seemed Lenore had finished putting the food away, the rubbish into a plastic bag she had brought. "If you will excuse me I have to help Lenore" she said as she got up and walked over to Lenore and nuzzled her, gesturing towards the bag before having Lenore let her take it, if she could stop the male thinking he could get away with what he was doing then ignoring him would be best besides, his advances were not exactly making her want to fall in love with him, if anything, whilst flattering, she would rather wait till they were away from others before deciding whether or not she even wanted to be with him romantically or not, you can't find out about a kitsu properly when there are others around.
Sayako smiled at the others, feeling just nice after her meal, needing though to raid Odessa's cupboards tomorrow if she won't mind, some more of that meat would be nice "Odessa" she said getting up and walking over to her "would I be able to trouble you tomorrow for some more of that food if it is alright? That meat was just perfect and so was the chocolate mud cake" she said, hoping it would be alright.
Odessa nodded and put the bag down "of course, come back to my cave tomorrow and we will have some more for lunch" she said, glad Lenore had cut everything before she came today, it was just so much easier to dish the stuff out then trying to cut it herself "Thane, you are invited also" she said smiling at him.
"Thank you, I would love to" he said as Oliver hung from his nose before falling onto the ground and landing on his butt "I will just have to check with someone about something first but I should be able to make it" he said as Oliver looked up at him.
"Can we play Hide and Seek tomorrow!?" He asked excitedly.
Thane nodded "of course" he said as he picked up the pup and placed him on his back.
"Yay!" Oliver said as he sat on Thane's back.
Lenore had let them talk a little as she made her way back to Odessa's cave.
Odessa picked up the bag again and started following Lenore who had started to make her way back towards her cave.

Gersif winced, well so much for that moment. He sat back up fully admonished he wasn't as good at it as he had hoped apparently. A disappointed frown on his face his smiled returning with the wink "I'm looking forward to it." he said watching her get up and assist Lenore before going to help himself. Couldn't let the ladies do all the work. He had at least learned manners from his family before they passed not that he had had need to practice them in a while. He picked up a couple of bags and followed Lenore, he smiled around the bags glad to see everyone getting along so well. They were already acting like a family ... course it also meant he was going to find his food the old fashion way seeing as everyone would be eating anything and everything in the home. Oh well, he sighed not like he wasn't use to it.

Sayako walked back with Thane, making sure Oliver didn't fall off the back of the Celestial, pleased to have one last night with him.
Odessa sighed as best as she could and looked up to the sky, tonight was going to be beautiful and once Oliver had gone with Sayako she pondered about taking a walk, it was far to perfect of a night not to.
Lenore walked into the cave and set the baskets down, opening them and started arranging the food, deciding what to take home with her and what to leave here.
Odessa walked in moments later and placed the bag by the cave entrance so Lenore could take it and walked over and climbed up on her bad, letting the others come in if they wished.

Gersif watched Oliver out of the corner of his eye on the walk back to the cave, he placed the bags next to the ones Odessa sat down and chose a spot just outside the cave to lay down and watch the going ons. The ground was still warm from the days sun and he was happy to absorb the residual heat. He watched while Lenore put away the food, he had the perfect spot to observe anyone in the cave while being able to keep an eye on anyone who might approach. A smile to Odessa as she lay in bed and then to Sayako and Thane as they walked. He may not be the real father or mate but he was still the man of the house and it was his duty to protect it.
His rune pouch shifted against him reminding him of it's presence. Perhaps it would be wise to do a casting now before it got too dark to see. The flat rock he had first done his casting on after interrupting Odessa, that felt like a lifetime ago, sat not far off. He lifted himself up and walked over taking out his runes and setting himself down to cast. He thought about his question, this family and it's future and cast the runes. He pulled out his notepad and jotted down the runes before casting them again and again. He never could get a straight answer when it dealt with his personal life so he shifted focus to Oliver casting the runes again. Then to Odessa, Thane, and finally Sayako. Once satisfied he gathered up his runes again placing them securely in his pouch he flipped through the results he had received cross-referencing them to each other before settling down again. Seemed generally optimistic and that was good enough for him.

Sayako walked into the cave with Thane close behind, both about to smile back to Gersif who had gotten up to leave and decided to leave him to and then looked to Odessa "may we come in?" Thane asked, seeing Odessa nod and carried on in, walking to the bed he 'dropped' Oliver on it before nuzzling his stomach "now I have to get going" he said as he kissed the now giggling pups head "I will be back tomorrow though" he said as he walked over to Lenore and nuzzled her, giving her a lick to thank her for the food.
"Youre welcome, hun" she said as she cuddled him before letting go and carrying on with what she was doing.
"I might come with you, you ready to go, Oliver?" She asked, looking at the pup.
Oliver nodded "yep!" He said as he got up and walked across the bed and nuzzled his mother "goodnight mommy" he said as tears were brought to his eyes but he stopped himself from crying, he never thought he would ever say goodnight to his mother again.
"Goodnight darling" Odessa said as she kissed the pups head "have fun at Sayako's" she said as she picked him up and placed the pup on Sayako's back.
Oliver grinned "I will" he said as he looked to Sayako "we can go" he said as he licked his mothers cheek as her rode off on Sayako's back "bye!"
"Cya sweetheart, go see your father before you go"
Sayako nodded "we will, see you tomorrow" she said as she left the cave with Thane and went to see the pups father.

Gersif quirked an eyebrow "Leaving so soon?" He had gotten several castings in but they hadn't taken up much time at all. It seemed odd to him that they would arrive at the cave only to leave again. "Well I guess I should say goodnight then" He licked the top of Oliver's head "Be good and have fun" he smiled knowing the boy would. He looked to Sayako "Thank you for having taken such good care of him" She could never truly know just how much he meant it, if it hadn't been for her Oliver could have been in a worse place than even Gersif had to go through and Oliver would never get the chance to grow out of it. It would have been a permanent hell, Gersif knew this all too well and he thanked her from the bottom of his heart. He may not be the boys true father but it didn't mean he didn't care about the lost souls of the world. There were too many already and she had saved Oliver from that fate. "Thank you." It couldn't be said enough.

Sayako and Thane smiled at him "you are welcome and it has been a pleasure" she said as she looked around at the pup "he is such a good boy, a total delight to have" she said as Oliver curled up on her back "he at least now has a stable home again and that is all he ever needed" she said, knowing that her home was stable but it wasn't with his parents like it should of been and not only that he did like to go out on his own and even stay out on his own all night, which only made her and Thane hope that would now stop.
"Goodnight daddy" he said as he softly yawned, he was getting tired "I will see you in the morning" he said as he smiled tiredly at him.
Lenore finished sorting out the food and then took out a lighter and went around lighting the candles in the cave, something she did for Odessa every night.
Odessa stretched out in bed and took a deep breath and sighed, tonight was one tiring, horrible and eventful day but she looked down at the ring and took it off, getting up she went over to a few of her books and flipped through them, looking for a chapter on contacting the dead.

Gersif padded into the cave to see what Odessa was up to, she had pulled down a book and he didn't suspect it was for some easy reading. Based on the content of the book he could only guess at what she was trying to do but he wagered he had a good idea. "Dangerous thing contacting the dead" he tried to sound casual watching Lenore light the candles rather than look at Odessa. "Might wake them from a peaceful rest and cause them to be restless souls caught in the in-between." He frowned, he had been warned often as a child not to speak to the dead 'Leave the dead to the dead' he could hear his grandfather tell him as if he were there in the cave with him. The memories rolled in like a storm the shack of his grandfather replacing the cave an old worn table covered in dust and candle wax placed in the center books open and stacked on top of each other. A small four pane window cracked and covered in so much soot and dust it was impossible to see through lending a yellow hue to the contents of the room. He sat on the floor by a small fire, his grandfather in a rickety old chair beside him. 'You can ask the gods for help, but the dead have earned their rest let them have it.' He had hated the rule often wishing to speak to his parents, have them near once again 'Don't be selfish Gersif, if you wake them you might not be able to grant them rest again' he had tried once to contact them, a young headstrong boy missing his family 'Don't open that box Pandora you might not be able to close it in time' Pandora's box.... he never risked it. He blinked his eyes clearing the memories from his vision allowing reality to settle back in. Restless souls could go insane and torment anyone who passed by, he couldn't do that to his parents no matter how much he missed them and he wasn't sure he could allow Odessa to do that to Oliver's. Not when he had gotten positive readings from his runes. "We should let them rest, they deserve peace."

Odessa had, only once before, contacted the dead easily and successfully for a client of hers, so she did have it in her to contact the dead even if it was a fluke however if her father could do it then she could, he had taught her how to go about it but she never truly has wanted to carry on practising but she still remembered what she was taught but needed a brush up so hence the books, she just had to get into the right frame of mind, concentrate and....make sure she knows EXACTLY how to go about it "and you know for a FACT their souls are resting do you?" She asked him rhetorically. "I know this is a risk BUT given how they died I can't exactly see their souls being restful, especially not Calliopes given how she died, it may be a long shot but a part of me just doesn't believe that they are resting peacefully in the afterlife, maybe it is just indigestion but I need to contact them, I don't believe in using an Ouija Board, I do believe they are evil things but I do believe in being able to contact the dead through mediums, a trusted, stable way one can talk to those who have passed on without the worry of needed to be interrupted by evil spirits.
As a mother I can't really see Calliope is happy being dead, she not only lost her mate but she also had to leave her son, and whilst one could say it was, indirectly, her fault it still doesn't mean she isn't a restless soul now so I am going to do some late night conversing with the dead though I might get my father to help me if I don't feel 100% up to it, at any rate I will be talking to Calliope tonight and if you wish, you may stick around" she said as she carried on looking through the book she was on, reading through the chapter on how to successfully contact the dead.
