Combat Round 4 Results

Griswold took up a crouched position atop of a dune, taking aim with his slug rifle, making use of his scope and his patience.

Sergeant Kovack seemed to be death incarnate, and was trying to eliminate what he could with extreme prejudice.

However, neither of them rivaled Trooper Zeke's untamed killing instinct, as he vaporized the remainder of the shadow beings with a fierce discharge of his weapon, shadows disintegrating into two-dimensional ash before fading into the sand. Zeke kills 8 aliens, and removes the last threat token of the encounter!

At this point, it was clear that Kovack's radio was on the fritz, or something. Communications wouldn't go through on any of the designated channels.

The (NPC) troopers, now that the threat of combat has passed, began to grow more visibly shaken. What were they dealing with? How much danger were they still in? Were the aliens really dead?

Griswold lowered his weapon and huffed it toward the rest of the unit, "Did anyone find anything useful before...that happened?"

"Are you all that green that your first combat makes you cry for your mothers?!" Walter shouted reloading as he circled his squad, "Tantalus a head count while I make a small speech."

Finding a small boulder to stand upon Walter would look down upon his troopers with a face of sadness (if sadness could be expressed through a gasmask).

"Now listen up! Now is not the time to be afraid now is the time to be the pride of Terra! We are on an enemy planet stranded and left here until our radios work again... We only have our wits, TRM's and plenty of ammo! So what will we do while we wait?" Walter asked but didn't wait for an answer, "We will kill all we can like we are paid to do! What makes the grass grow? BLOOD BLOOD BLOOD! KILL! MAIM! BURN THE ENEMIES OF TERRA!"

Walter then jumped off the boulder in hopes he had roused his squad into a fanatical fervor.

With the combat over, the aliens no longer posing a threat, Griswold would return to the rest of his unit, a little wary, but otherwise, in no danger.

By the time he arrives, his Sergeant is giving an inspirational speech. All in all, spirits are raised, and victorious cheers resound with each dramatically timed exclamation point!

Though, one trooper would pipe up afterwards: "So, what are our orders now, Sarge?"

"Orders? Let us see if any of the other squads survived because more guns and ammo to loot off is what dead bodies are for!" Grinned Kovack as he tried to determine which direction to patrol off in, "This way! That stupid son of a b***h Wilson's squad dropped near us in this direction. That is hoping their stick didn't drift in the wind."

In high spirits Walter eagerly led the squad onward.
