✿ Kari took her food slow, still thinking about John before hearing bits of Falman and Ed's converstation.





✿ Falman stooped over the bed, standing up straight once it was completely down and looking at him. "Yeah, it's all the way in the back. You push the dial in and it shoots out water, like a pump. So it'll turn off after a while." He left the room, making broad foot step noises to his own, "Well, I'm turning in." Kari turned pink and looked up, nervously touching her spoon. "Thank you for dinner." He gave a curt nod before retreating back into his own room, obviously tired from the days work, whatever he was doing before they got there.




✿ Kari blinked, standing up and feeling off turned as she held onto the top of her head. "I forgot my bag, I'll be right back." She quickly grabbed her bowl and washed it out in the kitchen before walking out of Falmans house.

✿ With the scenery growing darker, Kari trudged along, looking more on the skim of the forests horizon than infront of her own body. She blinked and became more focused, turning her attention forward and realizing that her feet had brought her right where she needed to be.





✿ Kari knocked on John's house, waiting patiently for him to answer; but he didn't. Still, she knocked again - harder - and waited but to no avail. Kari turned pink while she grabbed hold of the knob and opened the door herself, sticking her head in and searching around. All the lights had been turned off, and no one was in the layout of the living room or entrance; had he gone to sleep? She went in quietly, trying to keep her shoes scuffling noises quiet while she squinted in the dim light; spotting her bag and picking it up.




✿ "What are you doing?" Kari's heart stopped, a she took in a short intake of breath before turning around and seeing John's darkened image in the obscured lighting. "I'm sorry, I forgot my bag and you weren't home so I just took it back." He flicked the light switch on and Kari rubbed her eyes, letting them focus to the lighting. Looking at him she could see that he was dirty, his pants and shoes were covered in dirt and gravel. "Oh, is that all? Well alright, take care of yourself and don't forget to come back tomorrow." Kari nodded, her cheeks still pink with embarassment as she moved past him and for the first time took in the knowledge that his stature was bigger than hers, before going back to Falmans.

✿ Kari walked out of John's house, slipping on her backpack onto just one of her shoulders. To her he seemed needy, for some reason a bit clingy; which was weird. But she pushed it aside, once again taking it as he was a hermit and was excited about talking to someone.





✿ Kari opened Falman's door, looking down at her feet to make sure she didn't track in any dirt like John did at his home. She looked up and stopped, her hand midway of taking her shoe off due to seeing Ed's crimson face. Slowly she put down her foot, keeping her eyes on the floor as her face also turned red before she backed out and closed the door. Even though she was on the other side she covered her eyes, dismayed at seeing Ed's chest. "P-Put some clothes on!"




✿ She stood there and pushed at her own cheeks, blushing and feeling her stomach churn.

✿ Kari opened the door and slunk back in, her cheeks still tinged coral pink as she closed the door behind her. She sighed and stood up straight, bending down to scoop Alyss up in her arms.





✿ Kari smiled and squeezed her a bit, keeping her in her hand before going in the room and slipping off her shoes, and sitting on the edge of the bed; putting Alyss down on the mattress and watching as she sneezed.




✿ She sighed took off her backpack, she unzipped it and opened it up; pulling out some pajama's that she had gotten in a town. Kari got up, going to the bathroom in the back and changing in there before going back to the room. She hopped into bed, trying to be as delicate and quite as possible before pushing herself under the blanket; grabbing Alyss and letting her balance herself on her chest.

✿ Kari laid in be, eyes open and glued to the ceiling. She couldn't sleep, no matter how many times she willed herself to sleep she couldn't.





✿ She sat up, looking around and seeing Ed but not Al; till she looked out her window and saw him out by the door. Kari slouched, starring off at the field of trees, it was an open area so whatever went on could be mostly seen. She slinked herself out of bed and felt Eds mattress with her foot, placing herself next to him but a bit away.




✿ Kari pouted, pushing her face into her pillow; the sky turning from black to a light grey, meaning morning was only a few hours away. She turned on her side, curling up as best as she could but keeping her distance to not disturb him till she fell asleep.

✿ She flipped over, feeling uneasy, and got on her back; turning her head to look at him. "Hey, can we hold hands?" Kari looked at him for a minute before turning pink, looking up at the ceiling instead but she lifted up her hand and put it between them palm up.





✿ Her stomach became uneasy as her thoughts went to John and then back to Ed, she pulled her eyebrows together before turning her head to look at him. "Ed, what were you looking for in Falmans books?"




✿ She stared at him for a moment longer, thinking about it to herself before peicing simple things together. "What do you think about John?"

✿ Kari continued to look at him, searching his face for any signs; things even she could pin-point out from the normal. But there wasn't anything. When she looked at him she felt uneasy, but she was unsure what made her feel that way. Kari wondered if he trusted her, probably or else he would be sleeping with one eye open. But she thought about Father and if she would turn in Ed and Al to save herself, "I wouldn't trust me."





✿ For a moment she stared at him, feeling upset by her own words but that went away when she heard a loud bang. Kari sat straight up, still keeping her hand hooked onto Ed's before feeling some panic creep into her heart. She let go and made her way to the door, opening it up and seeing that Falmans dinning room/entrance was fine. But the pattern on the wall looked weird, distorted. She turned and opened up the front door, going a few feet outside before seeing the cause of the bang; a fire that had exploded a house. "That's Mr. John's house."




✿ She stood there for a moment, hands at her side while she watched the flames grow; becoming hypnotized by the glow. Kari's eyes flickered across the whole scene before seeing someone on the floor, she scampered forward, getting closer and seeing that it was a girl; clutching her own sides. Kari bent down and pulled her up, the girl immediantly grabbing onto her Kari and they held onto each others forarms, standing there and watching the flames.
