Gerard is a man who seeks adventure and freedom. While most bards live to pass on experience through story and song, Gerard has become a little less pure in that regard, enjoying the experience for himself almost as much. Not much of a musician, he instead works through stories and epics; no one tells a campfire story like a bard. He surrounds himself with others who want a more exciting deal out of life, and is a strong advocate of allowing each his own path.
Lou was a high-ranking priest of Kord, but was expelled from the ranks (though not the church) due to a mishap while confronting a man who was extorting money through bad loans to people, who he accidentaly killed. After losing his rank, he went off to continue trying to spread justice through his own personal effort, and joined up with Gerard as his right-hand muscle-man.
