Last year I had to clean the band room for extra credit (I was failing band because I hadn't written this essay we were supposed to), and I found many, many, year old chocolate eggs, random articles of clothing, I found lots of trash, including dirty tissues in the instrument room. The instrument room was the worst. And then I had to organized the instrument shelves (they're like these two REALLY high shelves that span the length of the band room, and when you walk between them it's almost like walking through a canyon) and I found lots of broken coat hangers, flag poles, drum stands, and lots of old, broken french horns. Seriously, there were like 13 french horns, all broken. I also found the coolest violin. It was broken beyond repair, but parts of it were carved and some of the wood was inlayed, and at the tip of the neck, it was carved to look like a lion's head. I know one day i'm going to steal that violin, but I haven't had the time to yet.

Were going to have to clean out the band room soon enough because were moving to the new band room! I feel sorry for the people who are going to use it next. sweatdrop Things we've found in past years: :plastic tuba :Broken copper tuba :countless amounts of valve trombones broken in half(Shame!!) :Trumpet mute...filled with suspicious-looking white stuff :Billions of socks and marching shoes (some of them mine) :Larry boy (he rides with us to competition for good luck now!) :Half a clarinet(now in my closet) sad is disgusted) multiple bottles of pee (pukes) :the bassoon :fake-pearl encrusted zip-up tie (now also mine) :A beautiful green vest (again, now mine) + all the usual stuff (used condoms, unused tampons, reeds of all sizes)

We found an animal porn magazine, and a tire mark on the ceiling.... so we stopped letting the cheerleaders rehearse in our Band Room, much to the dismay of our directer, we pyshicly wouldn't allow them in our room.

Our school is brand new, it was built just last year, but already we have found some interesting stuff. Apparently someone thought it would be funny to pull a prank on the colorguard who currently use a storage closet for their flags and such. They colored a sharpie smilie face on all their gloves. The band directors didn't agree.

Well, in my band room, if you cleaned out everything including the back rooms and lockers and such, you'd find some very interesting things. Such as: -Broken cafeteria seats -A menu from New China Buffet -countless reeds and reed cases (usually found in the percussion and tuba rooms) -old streamers -a glittery gold tank top (um. that one might be mine...) -cardboard stars and music notes. -around 75 arizona iced tea cans, one with something living in it, the rest full of ants. -confederate flags -texas flags -clothes belonging to all the percussionists -1 million and five lost bandanas (but with those we usually effect the "finders keepers" rule after about a month) -easter baskets -dress shoes -dress shirts -lost mouthpiece bits -Scarecrow Evan -a Chewbacca mask
Our band director threw out half our stuff last week though, because the principal was checking the back rooms and stuff.
We're just glad he didn't find the stuff in the ceiling. (Rope lights, stuff my section stole from the trumpets, etc.)

If I collected all the socks I've personally found and thrown away in my 4 years in marching band, they would fill a 32-gallon trash can. Not kidding. Same volume of shoes, enough reeds to make a spear out of them if you glued them all together, and enough sheet music/drill charts to make a paper drinking cup big enough to hold all the socks I've personally disposed of (17 or 18 layers of paper here; water-resistant).
No food aside from a few forgotten bags of chips, opened and unopened. Though, mind you, our band room has never been completely cleaned out, either.

reeds, magazines, white shoes(marching season), white and black socks, random peices of clothing, enough music/folders to fill one regular sized trash can. that was previously empty. bags of chips, old cheerleading outfits we all tried on, and a brown piece of string cheese still in it's wrapper. along with a couple of peoples lunches and more reeds. and i'm sure we'd find more if we thoroughly cleaned the room.
