it's the middle of the night...! (ship time that is)... ack.... oh... ok, I'll call tam to play with ye... he'd do anything to get out of guard duty....
after a moment of silence,,, a small winged fox appears before lyssan and luceil...
whatever it was... i didn't do it... tam grumbles sleepily... i didn't eat the pie... i didn't dump scarlet dye into keva underwear drawer and i didn't hide shia's text books... nope... i most certainly didn't...
lyssan raises one elegant brow and flashes her eldest a foxy grin... hmmm had to be rather recent occurrences... all of them as i haven't heard a peep from yer sibs... and kev is rather vain about his clothes....
the small fox looks rather sheepish
lyssan smiles and nods to luceil... he needs a playmate, ok... and i need a nap... need i say anything more...
tam eyes light up with relief... heck... that's not a chore... that's fun... come one luceil... let's go tie zel's sheets into knots....
lyssan sighs as they scamper off down the darkened corridor... somerthing tells me i'm going to hear about this in the morning... she chuckles and climbs into bed... but right now i'm too dang tired to care....

*The next morning, Zel does wake up to find his sheets tied into knots...but Lyssan has been strangely unpranked. Yuki has been shaving creamed...and Austin has had the warm-water prank done...but that's it. Luciel and Tam are found playing hide and seek on deck*

lyssan gathers up the two errant younglings and brings them forward on the deck... here she makes a sweeping movement with her arm causing a rift to open before them... you see a quiet forest glade... shall we, she asks with a smile...

lyssan steps through with a nod.. as long as you do no lasting harm prank all you want... in fact it is encouraged here... to keep the kits ontheir toes... just realize this... you will be as much of a target as you make them to be....

*Flies off, rigging the pup assigned to laundry duties washtub with an invisible dye that stains the clothes Bright, Bright Orange. He then flies to the other pup's room/cavern and rigs his "Tom & Jerry painted mousetrap prank," this time with baby-blue and Bright Yellow paint. *

tam rolls with the punches, always slipping to one side or another so that luceil never quite hits him or pummels quite as hard as he thinks he can... in the end the dragonling finds himself sitting on the ground huffing and puffing while before him sits tam, tail wrapped about his legs, calm and collected... ye need to remember he serves as one of the guards for lyssan's palace... which ye just might get to see iffin ye are good enough....

tam leads the way through the underbrush, across an open meadow and down a shady lane... eventually coing up upon a grand stone building... servants of all ty[es move in and out of the structure... some carrying farm implements, others sacks of grain or wheelinbg barrows of meat... the inside of the stable is cool and noisy... grunts and snarls come from all sides... surprisingly most of the beasts there are low country griffins... a strain of the nobel beast that never has shown signs of intelligence beyond that of the common beast...
tam leads luceil down to the back of the building avoiding detection easily... he stops before an enclosed box, the sounds of snuffling and thumps from inside are different than those out... tam grins... me dad got a new fangled mount the other day and i've been meaning to peek at it... he called it a hor or something of the sort... no one's been brave enough to come down yet, but it was on the way back so i thought maybe ye'd want to get a leg up on me kin....

Note: A WHAT? I've studied many legendary creatures...but not one like this...where did the legend come from...or is this going to really embarass me because it's obvious?
