Thanks for the sentiments, but zombie? What? Are you suggesting that I dream of zombies? Or are you saying that I'm like a zombie right now? (I kind of look like one right now, but fortunately I am not hungry for brains.)

"It is a truth universally acknowledged, that a zombie in possession of brains, will be in want of more brains." Or something like that. Opening line of Pride and Prejudice and Zombies. I must say, if the rest of the book reads like that, I will like it very much! I have to read the original Pride and Prejudice first, though...

Oh, and I'm so glad there's a dream forum here! I have a habit of spending hours lurking on dream forums on the Internet (ask Chibi! biggrin ), but I've never had the guts to join any of them. But here are a couple of my dreams, just in case anyone might find them amusing. I read a lot of spy novels, so it really wasn't surprising at all a couple of years ago in college when I had the following dreams: 1. I dreamed that, for some reason, I was being chased by enemy spies (I think they might have even been ninjas or something) all over campus, and they wound up trapping me in the main administration/classroom building. The bad guys were guarding all the exits, so the only way I could go was up. They chased me all the way to the bell tower and then out onto the roof...and then I woke up. 2. A couple of weeks later, I dreamed that I was once more being chased by secret agents, only this time I was at a doctor's office on the second floor of a tall building. I was in a doctor's actual office (not the exam room), and I was talking to a doctor who supposedly had information that could help me. Suddenly I figured out that this doctor was actually an enemy spy, and just as he was about to punch me in the face, I picked up a chair and knocked him over with it. Then I jumped out the window, and even though I had jumped from the second floor, I hit the ground running, unhurt, and was actually able to completely outrun my pursuers. That's when the dream ended. I just thought it was cool that, for once, the dream actually ended with me having the upper hand. Usually I wake up just as the bad guys are about to do something horrible to me. This is one of the few dreams I've had where I actually got away from the villains!

Chibi, You're welcome. twisted I told you my spy-novel obsession was a bad influence. Now let's see if I can get you to have dreams based on Victoria Holt books!

I had a rather odd dream today when I took a nap. It was the middle of the day. I had been sent to pick up lunch. As I was driving to the shopping center with the Wendy's in it, dark clouds started to hover in. I went inside and got fed up with the lines and rudeness, so I left. It was 2:00 PM and the sky was pitch black like the night sky, but I knew it wasn't night. Some type of ominous evil storm was in the air and blotting out almost all of the light. Panicking, I ran to a walkway leading to some other shops. I hopped on a book-cart and drove it around the shopping center. I found a place of shelter where I looked out at the dark sky, but I was asked to leave the store because vehicles a.k.a. my book-cart weren't allowed in the store. I left, but I still had to pick up lunch, so I went to a Chinese place. The regular entrance on the side was sealed off, so I had to go around to the back. I was led to a small room in the back that looked like a break room. They prepared some food for me and sent me on my way. At that point, I got lost in the restaurant. It kept expanding and I couldn't find my way out. I think I woke up while I was searching.
Does anyone want to try to interpret my dream?

I had another doozy of a dream last night. I was in the middle of nowhere and I hurt my leg. Malomy was with me and we made it to a building with a doctor in it. First, we had to travel up and down several ridiculously long stairwells that kind of remind me of the emergency stairwells in office buildings. Then, we made it to the set of Opera. Opera but a band-aid on my knee, but of course it didn't do any good. I never saw a doctor, because Malomy and I left at that point and my knee was still bad. I think I had sprained it or something. We were walking in a grassy field and my aunt/uncle/cousins picked us up in the old minivan that they had. I think we were headed for the mall. I noticed that they were played "Back to the 80's" on the radio, and I asked them if they knew that Aqua sang it. To my dismay, they changed the station to rock music because they apparently didn't like Aqua or something. I don't think we ever made it to the mall. I know that we were at my great-aunt's house next. We were sitting on the front porch and an ice-cream truck drove by. I was able to stop the truck (I think my knee was better by now), but I only had 40 cents. I started putting up jewelry on the counter to trade for a $2.50 ice-cream bar. I think I had around 15-20 pieces of jewelry out there, but I was really reluctant to trade them. (This might be reminiscent of my trades for my Coco. I dunno.) I was able to save my class ring and a couple other items. Then I think I was in a video game. I kind of got the sense that that point that my trip with my relatives had been a level. I went to some plant to progress, but it told me I needed a party. (Malomy was gone by this point.) I was able to choose two statues from the yard (one was a Chinese dragon), and I was able to proceed. The next level was the heaven of Chinese mythology. We had barely started the level when I woke up. That is probably the most random dream ever imagined. xp

Chibi, remind me to severly scold you introducing me to the InuYasha series. I had another a couple nights ago. In this one, I had somehow ended up in Feudal Japan (not through the well), and, through a series of rather bizarre events, end up staying with InuYasha. After a brutal attack on the village, i discover that I am, in fact, part youkai (go figure stare ) I end up looking a lot like my avi. Then, they find out I am from some ancient line of dog demons that everyone thought had died long before. I end up falling in love with this full demon that just happens to be... wait for it... a Dark Wolf demon. Not long after, my man gets captured by this ice demon that lives on an island. I'm the only one that can hide my aura enough to get even close to the island, but I would be an easy target in a boat.
Then it gets cool. I'm standing on this REALLY tall cliff, looking towards this island, wearing traditional native american clothes, and praying to the spirits for guidance. The only answer I get is 'believe in yourself, trust the spirits.' I step away, and Inu turns to me and says, "Sometimes, there's nothing we can do." I just look at him and say, "And sometimes, we just have to jump." I turn and dive straight off the cliff. The clouds shift above me, and a spirit eagle dives down and disappears into my back. I sprout wings, and fly to the island to save the man I love. I woke up with my heart still pounding.

We've got to pull an Inuyasha intervention on you Jessyka! blaugh
Last night, I dreamt that Zack from Saved By the Bell asked me out on a date. It was a good dream, but rather odd now that I think about it.

Don't worry. If I do need an intervention, it'll be for something that I'm not going to mention on a semi-public site.
And Chibi? Don't worry too much. Zack is hot, and at least he's real. Now why can't I dream about hot, REAL guys?

Having free time must be getting to me. I'm so used to constantly having a paper to write, so having no responsibilities does not agree with my subconscious. Last night, I dreamed that I was on campus, and I had a math final in 45 minutes. When I tried to review for it, I realized that I didn't remember any of it. And I remember thinking in my dream that I had a Spanish final right after my math one, and I wasn't prepared for that one either. Rather odd.... confused

Ohmygoodness, Chibi, I know exactly what you're talking about! This past spring I had a recurring dream in which, for some reason, I found out that in order to complete my master's degree, I had to take another math class and another French class. So I signed up for these classes and went to them, only to find out that they were taught by the same math and French professors who'd taught my (real-life) undergrad math and French classes, and the classes were being held at my high school! (Yes, for that reason alone, it was a nightmare! burning_eyes ) In the first dream with this setup, I was preparing to turn in my midterm papers for my graduate history classes when I suddenly remembered that I had not attended my extra math or French classes since the beginning of the semester. In my second dream like this, which I had right after I turned in my final work for that semester, I dreamed that I got my grades and found out that I had aced my graduate history classes but flunked the extra math and French classes that I had forgotten I'd even signed up for. I was so glad when I woke up and found that it was only a dream! sweatdrop

Apparently so. But right now I'm thinking, you know, as long as my brain decides that I'm going to have to have weird dreams that I wake up remembering, why can't I have a cool romance dream or a spy dream or something like that? Why do I have to have school nightmares!? What is it about school that creeps into the deepest parts of our subconscious and scares the living mess out of us? eek
