We have 12, including myself. Only 10 actually march though because the first chair(section leader of all flutes, I guess) is on color guard.
We have 3 in Concert Band (the beginning band, mainly freshmen but have upperclassmen too), 5 in Symphonic Band, including myself (our middle band, mainly upperclassmen, but we have some good freshmen in there), and 4 in Wind Ensemble (the best, mainly upperclassmen as well, but the second chair flautist is a freshman and SUPER good).
Anyway, we have a lot compared to some of you. We also have an amazing guy flautist but he plays tenor sax in marching and only did flute last year because he had a scheduling conflict. He's really good, though.

The max that we have had in our band this year was about 3. We had 3 first semester, 2 second semest, and 1 third semester. I was the only clarinet 3rd semester, there were 7 in second and 4 in 1st. We had a small class in 3rd, only 15 people were in the class, we had to recruit, and practice in the morning so everyone could learn the music.

Well, lets see... Last year in our marching band, we had 5 flutes and a piccolo, and this year we have two flutes and a piccolo.

Let's see, how should I put this?
Their minimum is that they ALWAYS get the first two rows all to themselves. And whenever we have practice, if someone from my section is missing (middle voices), our grade is lowered massively. But if a member from the flutes is missing, nobody even realizes it!!! They continue on with their first, second, and third parts. They only notice the first through fifth chairs, then they stop wondering who's there or not. We don't have a lot of french horns (I'm the only one in my band... -_-) or many low brass players....

We used to have 5 at the beginning of the year, then two switched out of Band and one switched to Bass. Good move on their parts, because me and the other Flute player were able to overpower the two Saxophones, Trumpet, Clarinet and two Percussionists... thus, our BD made us sit behind everyone else except for the Percussionists. XD

There were 8 last year, and there should be a few more when band starts up again.
that doesn't sound like much but in a band of about 50 members our section is huge. o_______o;;
We're the biggest section, I think, maybe percussion beats us... xD
It's quite a lot. They're all underclassmen too, except for me, so I'm usually playing all the hard parts. sweatdrop
