::She slowly nodded; and held out her paw for him to take:: I have a room for surgeries like this; through back...
It's near impossible to avoid infection when operating; the only thing I could do was keep cleaning the place over and over... if you just follow me here...
::So she lead him through the back area where all the shelves of herbs and medical paraphernalia lay; she was running low on bloodwort; and her splints needed a few stacks more in their little pocket, but perhaps Jasmine would get those later::
::There were two doors; and Jasmine chose the one on the right; showing him through::
::There were no windows in this room, so it was a dark place asides the light they let in; but as far as Ather could see, it was spotless; not as much as a speck of dust lay anywhere; when Jasmine talked about cleaning, maybe she was just modest, this place looked like it had never been used before in the entire abbey's history; it was simply a stone pile shaped out for even the largest beast to lie in, covered by a fresh new blanket and pillow underneath for a headrest, several channels running through the stone for the imagination to guess; and simple stone worktops running all round to hold supplies for when ready; the room itself probably could have held 7 beasts, not counting the patient of course::
::There Jasmine nodded to the table:: If you can lie down there, I'll be back in a moment...

((Auuugh. I feel like craaaaap. I hate sicknesses! mad And now I have to play Triniwind? You suck, lol.))
Shune had been sitting here, listening to the exchange between the others in silence. When Jasmine's attention had been turned to her, she looked at her and payed close attention. Given her orders, she turned and slid carefully off the cot, hurrying out of the infirmary.
A few minutes later, a squirrel appeared in the back room with Ather and Jasmine. She was wearing a plain brown blouse which she had rolled halfway up her arms with a likewise plain skirt. "Shune said you needed assistance?" she asked quickly, looking over at Ather and recognizing him as the raccoon that had returned to Redwall with the others.
Shune came into the room behind Triniwind, staying back beside the door without a word.
((Excuse me while I go get a tissue....))

::Jasmine looked back; and nodded once at Ather; and then looked fully to Triniwnd:: Trini... I'm going to need a spare pair of paws for an operation of sorts...
And you and I having worked afore many times; I wondered if I could count on those steady paws again, if we're to fix Ather's arm...
Feel up to it? ::She looked then at Shune; held for a moment, and smiled:: Both of you?

Before Triniwind replied, Shune was nodding enthusiastically from back at the door, obviously quite excited at the notion of helping with a big procedure. She hurried quickly up to the operation table, her dark round eyes looking up expectantly at Jasmine, then shifting to the squirrel.
Triniwind turned to see Shune nodding and watched as the small otter hurried up and rocked on her little footpaws in anticipation. She turned then to Jasmine and gave a small smile with a nod. "Of course I'll help. I'll do whatever I can."
In the meantime, back in the Great Hall, Eula took the seat that Castor had up and left a few minutes prior. The excitement was dying down when the two reunited siblings left to the infirmary with Jasmine. Eula rested her elbows on the table and put her chin in her paws, looking to Donato. "So what d'ya think she's doing to them?" She asked in regards to Jasmine with Ather and Terra.
((Feel free to do this entire thing in your next post, Jas. Fast forwards with less details never hurt anyone. wink ))

((Trying to deal with school, migraines, try-outs and all that. SO psssh, back up off me. get up out my grill))
::Ather, doing his best to not seem nervous and doing a pretty good job at it, just nodded and let himself be lead along. The stone room was clean, indeed, but it gave Ather a cold, empty feeling for some reason. He simply sighed, letting the feel roll off his as he took a seat on the stone pile, simply waiting there for things to begin. He would comply to what Jasmine, Triniwind, and Shune wanted. Being a healer himself, he knew things were easier when a patient was cooperative.::
Do your worst. ::he joked with a light smile::

::She turned slowly to Ather, nodding gently; the three of them had a long job ahead of them; and she knew it...::
~~~~
::It was quite sudden when Terra had a paw tapping her back, a paw holding something already, it was quite gentle; but the blow might have been looking to see who the beast was; as Fenya stood there; mug in paw as usual...::
Ye look like ye'd go well with a few sips of this mug, lass...
::There was some visual impact there that Fenya may not have realised... she was missing her arm... well... of that she was aware of certainly, but she wasn't QUITE so aware of the fact that Ather was having surgery to try and SAVE his...::
::Was this an envisionment of what Ather might look like when he was done?::
((Appy, gimme a PM X3 Just lemme know how you want it all to turn out for Ather..))
::Although very thankful for such hospitality from a stranger, Terra couldn't help but notice the lost arm. Not having know this creature, Terra had no idea when she'd lost it, or how. Perhaps she had lost her arm to an injury just like her brothers?
No. She didn't want to think about it. Smiling, she took the mug in her paws and just nodded:: Thank you....very much. ::Not quite sure what was in it, she gave the mug a sniff::
::It didn't take more than one sniff of the stuff to feel like it was burning the lining of her nose and all the way down her throat with a choking hold; a strong, pungent odor of an ale VERY strongly and very powerfully made it seemed as Fenya chuckled, and held herself up there:: Think ye need it more'n me, way ye look there, lass...
~~~~~
::Time passed... long and hard; and many an hour had been spent with Jasmine in the cold, stone little room she operated in, and only finally did she come out, with the help of a few stronger beasts to move Ather's sleeping form gently to a cot, she didn't know how long her herbs would leave him asleep for now, but she couldn't have finished sooner she believed::
::Triniwind and Shune; she didn't want to have imagined how tired she'd left them; herself; she was a mess; the wings and headress of her habit gone, her headfur unkempt and a tangle for all to see as she seemed seasons older now::
::Blood stained her paws and over her habit quite clearly with the work they'd went through... and she only hoped it would be worth it as Ather was gently lain down; his chest and entire arm HEAVILY swathed in bandaging, but one moment of panic would be he wouldn't have seen the arm if he didn't think to look at his chest where Jasmine had so diligently secured and bound it; not too keen to let him move it anytime apparantly...::
We can send for Terra now mayhap... ::She finally sighed, slowly looking back at her assistants; smiling tiredly:: We all did our hardest... and thank you both for all you've done here...

Playing with the remains of an apple turnover in his plate, Donato looked at Eula with a smile. "Other than taking a peek at Ather's arm and physicking him to death? No idea." He looked down at his plate to see Julia making pastrycastles out of his turnover. Sigh. He reached around behind the dibbun and took a scone from her plate.

Shune had followed through the entire procedure in complete obedience. She performed her menial tasks without question, and though she was kept to the small odd-jobs, she learned a lot from watching in the background. After the operation, she'd gone up and cleaned her paws in a small wash basin. What could've hardly been a minute later, the small otter was curled up on an empty cot, eyes closed, breathing slow and deep in her slumber.
Eula smiled a little, falling silent as she let her eyes gaze around the great hall. All excitement had died down and a quiet, peaceful feeling took its place. It was a wonderfully refreshing change, and she enjoyed it there for awhile. Her chin resting in her paws, it looked as if she could drift off any moment in the warmth and quieted voices around her.
She finally sat up and turned to Donato. "I'm going to go for a little walk and then I'm going to go to bed." It was twilight, not yet quite dark, but Eula, understandably, was very tired and the idea of a warm, soft bed was the most tempting thought at the moment. "Good night," she said to the general area, glancing around.
Jamie glanced up as Eula stood. He paused for a moment, as if considering joining Eula on her walk. His gaze lowered to his plate of food, however, and he seemed to change his mind. He gave a small smile and nod to the younger haremaid. "G'night m'gel. Sleep well. See you in the mornin'."
She smiled and nodded a little, pushing her chair back under the table before turning and walking from the Great Hall.

::She gave a cough, the smell burning her nostrils. Normally, ale wasn't her type of drink...it made her sick most of the time. But at the moment, she really could use a swig.
Closing her eyes and plugging her nose, she downed a rather large gulp, scrunching her face and swallowing hard. It burnt all the way down, resting in her stomach, only to burn there for a few moments until it faded to a pleasing sting. She shook her head a little, opening her eyes, which were slightly watering. Watching Fenya, she raised the mug, what little of the ale left inside it swashing around. A smile was on her face:: That hits a spot. Not sure which one, but it hits it.
