You are utterly amazing Spuntino *_* As a Guilty Gear fan I must say you did an exceptional job with your cosplay and even more amazing that you made that. You rock!

I think some of the convention guys may have done that, actually. There was one who came up and started talking to me about the games while I as sitting down, and just held his phone up the entire. Damn. Time. He was pretty polite aside from that, but it was just weird.
I don't know if he had video or what, but he just held it up and had it pointed on me the whole time, didn't ask me to pose or anything. I was a little creeped out. @_@;
Everyone else, aside from the "HUG ME!" people, was pretty nice.

Quote: Me neither. I'm really not big on cosplay, but I like this character a lot. I'm already looking for a better red PVC to remake the costume.
The PVC wasn't bad, actually. I was surprised. I had some fitting issues, but that was mostly a matter of inexperience in sewing in general, rather than inexperience with PVC. Once I sorted out how to make it sew, I was good to go. I'd read that it tends to stick to the foot when sewn and that putting wax paper, tissue paper, or chapstick in between the material and the foot helps. I used tracing paper as my "grab" for the material and it sewed just fine! The biggest problem I had was in actually piecing it together [I had to use tape, since PVC doesn't heal pin holes the way regular fabric does] and in keeping the machine threaded because the thread kept coming off of the tensioner arm. I got it done, though, and it looked pretty good, I think!
Shockingly enough, the boots weren't that hard to walk in. I thought they would be after trying them on, but they were easier than even some of the shoes I wear with lolita [which is shocking, since those suckers are pretty comfy]. Sitting down proved more of a challenge than walking to be honest, as my legs from the knees down would fall asleep if I sat still too long. The boots kind of cut off circulation when I sat, since my thighs weren't flexed. XD;;
The original character, I-no, has a lot of incarnations since she's in multiple games in the series. I mostly looked at statuettes for my particular costume. If I do it again, I'll definitely be using a better black PVC. The kind I used was for furnishings/upholstery and didn't have much give compared to the red material. It made top stitching a real pain in the neck. So PVC is similar to plastic, right? My first thought was leather, but I know I've seen PVC, and I know PVC pipes are common when creating cosplay props, but I'm terribly unfamiliar with it as a sewing material. o.O With the tissue paper -- do you stick it between the foot and material, or just enough into the foot that it's not under the needle?
I know what you mean about those boots. The same thing applies to these knee high lace up black boots I thrifted (great to walk in, pain to sit in >.>).
All in all, I think that was a good job done, too. The PVC would've scared me off, but I would have eventually gotten down and sewn.

PVC is a plastic, yes. It's made at different softnesses and different flexibilities. It can be used for models, toys, fabric [which can be shiny, look like face leather, or any other number of appearances] and plumbing pipes. The material version of it usually has a fabric backing that it is adhered to somehow.
When sewing it, it's generally best to just let the needle sew through it, because it more or less "serrates" the tissue paper into two portions which you can gently pull away from the stitches. I tried it several ways, and that seemed to be the easiest way to deal with it. I usually cut it such that it fit the seam I was sewing [since most of them were rounded somehow] so I could see where I was going, then just had at it.
I've also read that rubbing chapstick where you're going to be sewing helps, but that was a bit too messy sounding for me. @_@

Here's the only pic of my outfit I have. I live in Atlanta and it only snows maybe once or twice a year if we're lucky and when it started snowing I forced my parents to grab the camra and help me find a place in the back yard to take a picture. It was really hard to find a place to make it look like I right outside of a city. But I really like how it came out.

Wow I really didn't realize how close I lived to lolitas until I saw Fabie01's meetup pictures o_o I dont know why I never realized that before... I dont think I'd consider myself lolia because I dont own any lolita clothes, but my friends and I plan similar events. (for some reason its taking me forever to decide whether or not to press the 'submit' button)

I can see how nice everyone is just from reading what people post. :/ sadly I'm too paranoid to go to meetups at the moment. I'll try to figure out how live journal works in case I change my mind though :] In the end- I still wish I could get my act together and pull together some lolita outfits.

Ah, everyone is so cute! Unfortunately the closest thing to lolita I own at the moment is all EGA outfits. My friend took some pictures of me for one of her digital art projects at school. I'm like her living, breathing, BJD....I swear..... Well, here they are >.< They are also completely unedited, other than cropping, so they're pretty shitty.

Here are some pictures from yesterday's let's-have-a-walk-and-then-tea sort of afternoon smile I daresay the outfit could classify as Sailor Lolita 3nodding Do you agree? Everything is off brand except for the cuddle toy, which (according to the embroidery on its foot) is Harrods
