Kojiro let a low breath go as he gathered his focus and closed with the Lost warrior. Fighting, he could do. Sometimes he could do it well. With a Kiai shout, he swung his blade at Matsusuke, hoping to cut the man down and capitalize on the damage Kagae did.
OOC:

Masuyo blanched. Within the span of a few seconds the tainted creature had casually taken two heavy strikes and nearly toppled the mighty Crab in one. Though she has always been at one with her inner "Water" (something she learned most acutely when the monks taught her the Freezing the Lifeblood technique), the kami of water have always been silent to her. Well... more silent than they already were. She was good with medicine, but she could not heal in the middle of a battle. With no Path to Inner Peace to call upon, she turned instead to her own element, giving a short prayer to the earth kami that protected her and beseeching them to offer the same protection to Kagae.
That done, she simply had to do something. As much as she disliked these two, she couldn't stand around and watch them die. Reaching into her satchel, she pulled out the appropriate scroll and began chanting...
...and continued chanting... =(

21 - Bayushi Kojiro, Katana drawn, Attack Stance, 29 Damage (Out, --)
18 - Kaiu Kagae, Katana drawn, Attack Stance, 15 damage (Hurt, +10), TN+6
18 - Kitsuki Masuyo, 20' away
7 - Matsusuke, 24 damage, Attack Stance, Nicked (-0)
Kojiro would move to engage his enemy, rushing in and delivering a slice to the abdomen of Matsusuke, who didn't even seem to notice the blow.
Kagae would attempt to deliver a second attack, but his injury seemed to be worse than he first thought, and his attack was clumsy for it.
Masuyo prayed to the Earth kami to protect her bushi, and attempted to utilize a fire spell to further aid in protection... though the kami ignored her requests this time.
Rather than turn to face Kagae, Matsusuke would turn his back to the Crab, engaging the Scorpion instead. Metallic fingers clenching together, and called a shot to Kojiro's solar plexus.
37 vs TN 29+5, 29 damage, and Kojiro is now Going Without Air. Kojiro is Out unless he spends a Void point!
The metallic punch would crunch the plates of Kojiro's light armor in the abdomen, punching both stamina and air out of the man. Matsusuke would then turn and face Masuyo, speaking to her. "I have simply come for my men. You three are clearly no match for me, not as you are now. Let me leave, and I will spare your lives."
Everyone, you're up again!

Another one bites the dust. Wha'tcha~!
True to his nature, the Kaiu was still relentlessly going at it. True to the nature of this impossibly powerful monster, he was completely ignoring the Crab. Making him look like nothing more than a child throwing a tantrum. This was it. End of the line. Masuyo ceased her chant and stared at the dark kami-made-flesh with sorrowful eyes. Returning the scroll to her satchel, she stepped away from the door so as not to block his path.
"Kaiu-san, please. If you die like this your sacrifice will mean nothing. Take Bayushi-san and leave this place as fast as you can." 'Because there won't be much left of it when I'm done.'
Judging by past discussions he probably still wouldn't listen. This foe was so much more clever that she simply couldn't include any subtle hints toward her plan... not that he would catch on to them anyway. She could only hope that the fallen warrior's next strike did not kill him.

Kojiro is now Out, and going without air, and will suffocate without treatment.
Kagae makes another attack upon Matsusuke, who casually deflects it with an armored arm.
Masuyo takes no action, but pleads with her teammates instead.
"I want all of you off the mountain. I want no more death here, in this place. Not some, but all. Is that... hold on." Matsusuke would widen his stance, and take a defensive positioning with his arms, spending a void point to utilize a kiho. Masuyo, you might recognize it with a TN 15 Intelligence/Jiujutsu roll (free action).
"I advise against further assault, Crab. Throwing your life away will mean nothing. I am walking away from this, at the least you could do is do the same so you can try again when you are better prepared. Doesn't that make more sense?"
He would "look" towards Kagae with a hollowed helm, before turning his "gaze" back towards Masuyo. "Please, be reasonable."

She might have facepalmed if her nerves weren't so completely on edge at the moment. However, if there was one thing she knew well, it was jiujutsu and kiho.

Immediate Reaction!
When Kagae rushes forward and attempts to slice open Matsusuke, he would be surprised when the man reached up with his steel-coated hand, grabbing the sharp end of the blade like it was a blunt stick.
Free Disarm attempt from the Earth Fist kiho, with one free raise spent to remove the weapon from play and one free raise for style.
Matsusuke's roll: 50.
Kagae, oppose with Strength/Kenjutsu to keep your sword!

Wrenching Kagae's katana from his grasp like child's play, Matsusuke would hoist it upward, turn, and throw it at Kitsuki Masuyo!
Or rather, impaling it into the wall behind her, several feet to her left, vibrating slightly as it would come to rest.
"Believe it or not, I had a very close connection with Osano-Wo prior to my... change in lifestyle. My brothers in the temple would have praised your spirit, Crab."
