Zanzen would give a look to Kuni Raicho amidst his battle, who would simply shrug in response. Turning his attention back to Susumu, he would throw his fist into the Mantis's face, sending him staggering as he stumbled back... and crumpled into a heap. {12 damage, for a total of 44; Susumu is Out!}
"The winner of the first match is Kakita Zanzen." Raicho would say, gesturing towards the Crane. "Keep this up, and you'll be going to the final. Don't be fooled; if Susumu manages to hit you, you're going to feel it. He has a lot of power in his blows," she warned the Crane, in case he was getting cocky.

After a short rest, a rather battered-looking Susumu was looked battered and bruised from the attacks he had received. "I'll get him this time... the first one was just a warm-up..." he said to himself. He did seem more focused now; perhaps Zanzen had knocked the buzz out of him? {Susumu starts at 7 wounds, and is Nicked!}
"Ready when you are..." he called out. Kuni Raicho would give a go-ahead signal and stepped back. But who would be the first to act?

As Zanzen attempted the strike, Susumu would catch the Crane's fist, lowering it.
"No thanks to you." Spending his remaining Void point for a better attack roll, he would attempt an uppercut of his own... which Zanzen would pull back from in the nick of time.
((27 vs TN 26+3. 18 and a bunch of 3's and 2's. stare ))
As the kami apparently don't want Zanzen's bishi face to be damaged, he remains unharmed, and has initiative!

As Zanzen connected with the knee, Susumu bent forward from the force of the impact, wincing in pain. {6 damage, for a total of 13; Susumu is Grazed!}
Before he allowed himself to get too injured, he had to risk hitting Zanzen and taking him down a peg or two! Going Full Attack for accuracy, he would attempt to clonk the Crane across the head with a fierce palm blow! Once more (sigh) he would miss by a narrow margin, the heel of Susumu's fist skimming the top of his skull as he turned away!
I think we all know how this will turn out. Zanzen, initiative and 3 free raises!

Pushing the hand away just in time, he'd counter by performing the exact same move... well his best attempt at it. It was more like a hard open slug.

As Zanzen went to strike, Susumu would make a slight mistake, turning into the blow only to take it completely in the face! {13 damage, for a total of 26; Susumu is injured!}
Susumu would be forced to Full Attack again, roaring as he attempted to clobber the Crane with one fierce blow after the next! However, his injuries were getting to him, and each blow was easily dodged.
Zanzen, initiative and 3 free raises!

Left, right, center. Dodging as if the fists were blades, he quickly side stepped and swung a backhand fist towards the man's head again.
