Ai throws up his hands in frustration, while Bez goes to check on the teens.
"Why would they eavesdrop? It makes no sense, unless they are worried about something." he grumbles softly shaking his head.
"Well, Ari is terrified about something. Not sure what. Maybe her fear is triggering theirs." says Emnast in return.

Ai grows still for a brief moment and then he smiles girmly. "Bez says to tell you that he's cornered all three of them into one room which he has sealed off, for now... and is reading them the riot act about psychic eavesdropping. Said yer boy turns the cutest shade of purple when he caught out.... but to make it quick as this is giving him a headache."
"So why is Ari scared..." demands Emnast angrily. "Why would being able to project her thoughts upset her?"

Ai sinks into a chair, his face white. "I pray not. Her last memories... of being a wandering soul... have got to be horrendous."

Ai has the honesty to look abased and smiles weakly. "A short separation will not harm her or Mara, as long as she's close by I... I guess it can be dealt with. We need to approach Bez with this though. In truth, he's been both mother and father to them for so long, he should have the final say."

To his surprise, Bez is furious with him. "I was controlling that shield from within. I do hope Em knows how to tear it down. And how the hell did you managed to breach it anyway?" he demands in an angry voice. "No one... and I mean no one should have been able to penetrate it while I was holding it firm."
