Garath smiled and sat back enjoying the conversation between Crimson and Thomas. Personally while he found the smell in the car slightly unpleasant he thought the zombies smelled worse. Which raised the question about how the zombies started creating a stench so fast. Given the out break had started a day ago they shouldn't have started to rot yet. when they reached the store Garath watched as Nina and Jain dashed out and got Kalila to open the door. When every one started rushing out Garath followed suit. He made sure he had his own stuff and sword before jumping out onto the ground. He stayed outside only long enough to make sure no one was being going to be trapped out side. When he saw that Crimson and Terry had everything under control, Garath hurried inside. No need to get himself trapped out here. Once in side he considered trying to hold the door. But there were others doing that already. He instead took a moment to gain his bearings. Good thing that Walmarts in Canada and the States were pretty much identical. Garath began laying things down at the checkout counter. under onw desk he noticed a small plastic box of disinfectant wipes. He didn't recognize the brand but on the lable it said 'destroys 99% of harmful bacteria'. He wasn't sure if it would be of use for disinefcting things that had gotten in contact with zombies but it might help. Garath grabbed the box and carried it back with him. He then took a look at both groups and noticed there were three adults. It seemed that teens survived the best. Maybe we're more adapable and have given thought about what we would do if something weird like this happened. He remembered his mom argueing that he needed to learn to differentiate between fantasy and the real world. But now something that should only exist in the movies was happening maybe it was for the best that he had on occasion made his plans. He nearly started dwelling on his parents fate but he instead made himself busy by listening to what was going on and cleaning off his own blade. He hadn't used it much but it still had some stuff on it. He offered the container to Crimson as she used her blades the most. "It might help cleaning them off, and keeping them safe." He wasn't sure if the disinfectant wipes would sterilize the virus but he hoped it would. It would be bad to accidently cut oneself on a clean looking blade and then get infected. Or to touch the blade and accidently get infected. He knew Nina had a blade also but he couldn't remember if she had used it though or if she had used a gun. But Nina was talking to her friends so he decided not to interupt. He felt uncomortable around so many people so he stayed silent and watched everone. Now that the two groups had joined he only knew a few of the people present for the other group. Mizuki, Kalila, and Nicholas being the only ones he could remember from the other group. When Garath was finally satisfied that his blade was as clean as he could make it he sheathed it and setled back to watch the reunion.

The car came to a halt; they were at the Wal-Mart. Nina got out of the truck, making sure Garath and Jain were able to make their way in. Thomas decided he'd help guard them as they unloaded the supplies.

At this point the only thing that kept him going was the fear of what would happen if he stopped. Everything was happening so fast; a minute ago he was lazily munching on some wafers. Now he was in a parking lot and his life was in danger.

I hope I'll have some down time once we get things squared away.

Thomas looked around him, there were infected everywhere. Trying not to panic, he calmed himself in thinking that he had friends there to help him.

s**t, Terry could probably handle these guys himself.

The Naginatas Thomas had tied onto his back became heavy as he drowsily held them, ready for combat.

Just remember, stay at a distance. They can't hurt you if they can't touch you.

He hacked at one infected that got close, cautiously inching his way to the door, making sure nobody else was in danger.

One infected came running at him, he barely managed to block it in time, when he attacked the blade didn't go all the way through as it usually did. Likely because of Thomas's lack of strength and the blade becoming dull and dirty.

This thing really isn't good for crowd fighting. Maybe I'll have Terry teach me to use a gun; it would help out alot more in these situations.

Nina and Crimson had recovered the supplies and were in the Wal-Mart. Thomas retreated with them, and to his suprise the infected started to back away aswell.

What in the hell?... Well I guess that's that then. I won't complain.

The light in the store blinded Thomas for a moment, but once his eyes adjusted he saw the group of teens greeting eachother, relieved that they made it.

Thomas approached the group and introduced himself as best as he could.

"If anyone needs my help I'll be glad to assist them, just give me the word."

With that Thomas sat down, resting his legs, happy to be in a somewhat stable environment.

Crimson took Nina's hand, mumbling a thank you. Crimson was pissed at Terry, for throwing her around like a rag doll. Her pride had a little nick in it now.

But, who had time for pride when zombies are about to eat you?

She remindered herself as she looked around. Garath came up to her and handed her some disinfectant wipes. She gave him a small smile as a thank you. Crimson immediately unsheathed her swords to clean them. She hoped that the wipes would do a decent job on zombie germs.

Everyone started introducing each other, so Crimson walked over when Jain called for her a**.

She cleared her throat, and asked,

"What's the next step from here?"

Everything was happening so fast. Too fast. And though Mizuki knew it was of paramount importance that he keep up with who was coming from where and what was happening and all the finer details of the situation - he couldn't.
His eyes seemed fogged by the barrage of scents tempting his attention from every physical corner reality allowed. His eyes flickered around in his skull so fast it seemed that at any moment he would fall down flat in some form of seizure.
It was such a strange concotion. The first and the closet was sweat. A tangiable human musk of cold panic and overheating from laborious action. It came up in a warm thick mist around him, enveloping him and arousing his own adrenaline. The next came the sharp tang of Territory. The threat of attack that the Crazies were secreting to warn their own off this patch of the store. The patch where the tasty treats lay in mass, growing heavy and tired from days of fear and fighting. Next, there was misery. A deep rooted smell that Mizuki lacked the words and higher thought to describe adequately. It was like a weight that pressed gently and came across in waves, similiar to the emotion itself. In radiated most strongly from Alex. Misery caused a reaction similar to that of weakness. It caused Mizuki's own underlying predatorial instincts to kick up, subconciously fixing his attentions on Alex. It was only in subtle was that this was shown. Occasionally, Mizuki's eyes would flicker to the boy more than anywhere else. His muscles were tense, the hand on the side facing Alex tensing and relaxing in rapid succession, his fingers curled and vaguely claw like. Alex gave of Misery in thick, pulsing gusts that acting in the same way as a limp or a great big ********' neon sign reading; 'weakest of the pack'. Mizuki caught himself studying Alex's movements with slightly narrowed eyes, mentally assessing how best to manouvere the small boy into a corner. He didn't know why, nor was he totally aware that he was watching Alex in any negative light. Catching his eyes, Mizuki offered him a swift distracted smile and a thumbs up gesture as way of encouragment.
But perhaps the smell most pressing was that of blood. His stomach cramped and saliva pooled in the corners of his jaws. This, Mizuki was all too aware of. And try as he might to ignore it, it was everywhere. Human and Infected blood was on everything and everyone within his close proximity and the effect of intoxicating. Infected blood smelt stale by comparison, rancid. Little more than a strange body odour substitute. About as appetising as B.O but just as recognisable and familiar. Human blood on the other hand was palpable. He could feel the metallic taste dance tantalisingly across his tongue and taint his lips and nostrils. It filled him with a strong sense of euphoria - but at the same time, great clawing need. The smell offered unto him the promise of Paradise and all the desperate sadness of knowing that it was not quite reached.
Mizuki began to gnash his teeth, chewing on the side of his own tongue by accident. The sharp pain caused him momentary relief from his distractions, but only briefly. He tried to focus on the group, tried to search for conversation. Finding only equally frantic and busy faces, he turned to look for infected.
Just something to kill.
Have I really become so callous?
Even the question of his own moral integrity sounded hollow in his head. Like a poor attempt to fane humanity. An attempt to fool himself, to reassure himself that he still had some mercy in him. It left him feeling more saddened, but also a little empowered.

As they dashed forwards, a group of Crazies got between him and the others. Nicholas and Kalila dived ahead. Mizuki didn't attempt to call out. Instead his hands shifted to his gun. But the Crazies were already in too close a range to make much easy. Instead, Mizuki acted on impulse. He reached to the top of his head and pulled on his goggles. Throwing his bag around the front of him, he snatched the knife from the side pocket and threw the while bag full pelt at the closet infected. There were only three of them, and one looked in indecision as to stay and have a go at Mizuki, or continue the chase to Kalila and Nicholas. His rucksack hit one of the advancing Crazie's square in the face knocking it off guard. The other launched itself forwards. Mizuki didn't register its gender, or any distinguishing malformities like he had used to. Instead, it was simple a hunk of flesh and grissle throwing itself at him. He brought his arm across his chest, holding the knife straight, the top of its handle pressed against his sternum. As the Crazie jumped at him, Mizuki kept his grip on the knife the same, and slashed the knife through the air in a wide arch, keeping his elbow locked and arm firm. With the force of the swing, and the Crazie's own momentum, the knife sliced cleanly and easily through five inches of the Crazie's throat. Blood spurted as the weight of the head pulled it backwards, causing the gash in the neck to open into a full blown tear. Mizuki stepped to the side as the Crazie staggered in its lunge, falling short. Whipping round, Mizuki slammed the knife across in an awkward upwards diagonal slash, plunging the knife hilt deep in the soft skin behind the mound of grissle where the Crazie's ear used to be and upwards into the brain. Only with this complete did Mizuki register the blood across his face, and in his mouth. It tasted the way rotting fish smelled. A great wave of revulsion tore through him as he turned to the side and spat out the mouthful on the tiles. Looking at it through his flecked goggles Mizuki felt nothing but mild disgust. It troubled him that he wasn't more concerned. He knew that he was already infected, but he felt guilty being so comfortable with that fact. Wiping his mouth on his sleeve, he turned just in time to be barrelled into by the Crazie he had thrown the bag at. Knocked into a stack of shelves, Mizuki stabbed blindly whilst trying to regain his balance. A high pitched shriek of fury and predatory triumph tore through his ear causing physical pain. He flipped himself, so his back was against the shelves just as yellowed teeth lunged for his face. Mizuki reached up and slammed his forearm into the Crazie's throat, leaning all his weight against the shelves which creaked worryingly, as he jammed the knife forewards directly into the Crazie's wide eye socket. The thing writhed and hissed and releashed a squeal so ungodly and high pitched that Mizuki's skin crawled and his teeth grit together. It slashed at him aimlessly with clawed fingers and gnashing teeth. Mizuki pulled his face away as far as he physically could in disgust and gave the knife a brutal twist. Bringing up his leg awkardly in the small space allowed, Mizuki booted the Crazie away from him. A disgusting wet slutp issued from the ruined eyesocket as the knife reluctantly came free, smeared with transluscent goo. It just sort of stood there and spasmed and squealed for a while before it's steadily folding legs eventually collapsed. Once it hit the ground it was silent. It twitched once. Then was still.
A new scent mixed in the air. A fresh territorial musk. His own.
Mizuki shuddered against the shelves and looked up to find the third and final infected staring at him. It's nostrils twitched. It shuffled slightly then bowed its head to him, in a bizarre gesture of submission to authority. Feeling a strange lump in his throat, Mizuki raised the gun and shot it in the head. The bullet hit square, destroying the entire skull in a splatter of pulp and egg shell fragments of bone.
Shaking his head and wiping his face on his sleeve a few more times, Mizuki rescued his bag from where it lay cast aside on the tiles, blood splattered and lonely, and rushed off in the direction of the front doors.

By the time he reached the group there was so much elation and confusion going on that he siddled into the back relatively unnoticed. He kept his face turned away from them as much as possible whilst trying to grab sly glances at everyone. Unbeknownst to him, he shared Sarah's exact sentiment. They majority of them were young. It made him wonder whether it was coincidence, or whether youth and it's ability to easily adapt had played a huge part in who died and who lived in this disaster.
He scanned them all slyly from the corner of his vision until one in particular caught his interest.
A large form dressed in military fatigues, built like a brick s**t house and armed to the teeth with heavy ammunition. The guy had 'Rambo' scrawled all over him in blood. Whilst a military presence should have caused some comfort and security, it did the exact opposite for Mizuki. Staring out at the world through blood splattered goggles, Mizuki found little red warning flags go off in his head at the presence of this new military figure. He clicked his tongue, his stomach still causing him pain from all the delectable scents afloat in the world around them. With the retreating Crazies, it left the after taste of human blood all that more open and influential.
Mizuki found the monster in his head acting out a little now. There were just so many people now. A regular little community. Paranoia was knocking around, rattling its cage and demanding attention. It was hard enough to keep his status a secret with the smaller group before - without not only two doctors, but also a ********' marine or something lurking around ready to supply the cool dose of lead should he be discovered. It made getting that blood sample back from Sarah all the more important.

Mizuki was torn from his frantic musings by his own name being sung to the air. It sounded awfully casual and childish in the surrounding area. Songs and Blood.
Turning he saw Nina' beaming and beautiful face, and was suprised by just how happy he was to see her. He shot her a genuine wide smile and shouldered the barrell of his gun. He only hoped that he'd wiped off the majority of the blood on his face. Shifting the splattered goggles to the top of his head, he shot Nina a wink.
"To the best of my ability, I assure you." He cocked his head towards the blushing Kalila and perked brow. "Still got all her limbs, ain't she?"

He wanted to sigh with relief, he wanted to believe that there troubles were perhaps over. But Terry knew he couldn't put his guard down for a second. If the zombies don't get me, these people will, he critisized suspiciously as he surveyed the group, doing a quick head count to make sure everyone was safe, relatively speaking of course. A few members of the large group were looking in his direction with percurious exspressions, and for good reason, since he was the only one who had a military background in the whole of the group. For a moment he felt lost, as if he forgot everything he learned, panicking, wondering what to do next. Terry calmed his mind, I can't be panicking, and if I am I can't afford to show it. He barred another door with reinforcing planks. The more he watched the large group fiddle in anxiety and anticipation, the more the realization of responsibility beared down upon his tired mind. At the moment he felt like a zombie, which made him laugh in his head at the irony of the thought. His eyes blankly moved to a "L" shaped table, on it lay a broken doorstop lazily sitting on an old calender, using the doorstop as a sort of paper-weight. Terry remembered that it had only been a few days or so since this all began. Although after everything that happened, he felt as if he was capable of writing a 63 page book about it. He turned back toward the crowd, and began to walk toward them in hope of finding the scientist and discussing her means of curing the infection...

((I'm pretty sure it would be more than 63 pages. Metzli's posts alone are like five pages each.))

((That was an idea. Lol... But, particularly they are talking about how many pages of written work there are in this RP. I can go ahead and tell you the first three pages of this RP equals 27 pages of size 10 font. That's still before there was anyone else except Metzli, Dongaro, and me... Crazy, ne?))

Kalila grinned at Mizuki's words, posing and showing off her limbs to her best friend as an emphasis to the joke. It was also a method of getting the blush off her face. Nina was in the middle of laughing when in her peripheral vision she caught a body coming towards her. She turned quickly, her breath hitching in her throat.
"Alex!" Nina squealed after she figured out what was going on. She squeezed him tightly in their mutual hug. "You better believe I look good!" Nina joked with a smirk. "No, no seriously though: I'm just awesome. The defense at my house was so good that we almost didn’t have to touch zombies until a few hours ago.” She looked down at her jeans jacket and wrinkled her nose. "In fact, that is the first bit of blood to ever touch me." She said pointing at where the blood had smeared on her from Alex.
A few seconds later Jain tackled Alex. She asked him how he was doing all the while giving him a noogie.
Nicholas couldn't help but point and laugh, which wasn't smart. It just made Jain grab him as well, and she proceeded to squish the air out of their young lungs in a tight hug.
"Hello Thomas." Kalila said, her voice quieter than usual. Her tiredness was starting to affect that too. "That's my brother... Nicholas." She said, lazily pointing to his struggling body, next to Alex, in Jain grasp. Nicholas stopped his struggling to escape long enough to wave at the older boy. "You can hang out with him." Kalila said with a nod. Nicholas nodded a yes, though it was rather difficult.

Everyone stopped what he or she were doing and turned towards Sarah when she voiced her motherly concern in a loud, panicked manner. Kalila flinched and quickly made her way towards the older woman, grabbing her hands so she couldn't pull on her hair. It was harder than she thought it would be, for Sarah was nine inches taller than she was. Without her permission, Kalila put the scientist's hair up into a low ponytail. The pulling reminded Kalila of how dangerous it could be if an infected got a grasp on it. It was the same reason her waist-length hair was in a ponytail.
"Not a problem." Nicholas replied to David's apology. Sarah makes a good point though. I think our generation is just more knowledgeable about this kind of thing. Look: he told himself as he looked from Sarah to David to the military guy. They were knowledgeable, so they survived even though they're older... He summoned Thomas to stand with him, Alex, and Mizuki.
Nikita took this opportunity to answer Crimson's question. He walked up to her very smoothly. He could tell she was mixed, for she looked a little African-American, but there was something else in there he couldn’t put his finger on. He decided it had to be either Caucasian or Hispanic. Either way it made a beautiful mix and he found her just as attractive as the other girls if not more in her own unique way. He gave the girl a smile telling her how they planned to lock all of the door in the vicinity because there was a leak somewhere where the infected could get in. He continued, saying that once the doors were closed they would kill all the infected inside so they could live as peacefully as possible as long as the supplies they needed to survive lasted. He snapped and said it would be a piece of cake. It wasn't his plan, but he sure wasn't complaining.

Nina's eyes wandered over to Garath, He had just finished cleaning his blade and sheathed it.
"That's a good idea." She commented to him. It should keep the blades clean enough not to hurt us," She said as she pointed at the label of the wipes "but we can't depend on it for anything serious. We are dealing with a virus rather than just bacteria." She looked around at everyone and then looked back to Garath with a devious smile. She quickly grabbed his hand and raised it up. "Hey guys, this is Garath. He's a bit quiet... So be nice." She said enthusiastically. Jain mumbled something about how she didn't like when people were anti-social because he didn't come when she asked everyone to gather. She had seen the way Nikita was hitting on Crimson, and it made her kind of jealous.

Kalila smiled at Nina's antics as she walked towards her. Before much else could be done, Nina ran towards her, Garath in tow. She had a wipe in her hand and threw it at Kalila. The younger woman caught it and cleaned off her blood-crusted blade and sheath while still looking at where Nina was running.
Nina let go of Garath near Alex, Thomas, Nicholas, and Mizuki. Before she was too far away, she looked back at Garath and winked. Garath already knew Nicholas, though they weren't so fond of each other, however Alex was friendly and she hoped he would befriend her crush. Garath already knew Thomas. Mizuki was a good leader, she thought he might have been able to help Garath open up.
"Sergeant Phillips, that's Sarah and David. They're Alex's parents. They're scientists- probably the ones you want to talk to." She whispered and waved Kalila towards herself.

Kalila jogged up to them and asked what was going on, and Nina proceeded to ask if the scientist couple had anything that could cure the infection.
"Yes... Kind of..." Kalila said, sheathing her clean katana. "If a person didn't transform yet it can stop them from becoming a zombie. But, it's risky and doesn't insure results." She looked at Sarah and David, waving them to come over. "There was this girl here before, who was infected and was, seemingly, cured with it. But, she died too soon afterwards to know if it worked completely or if it just suppressed the virus." She paused to think. "Mrs. Marshall could tell you more about this, of course, than I could - WAIT!" She blurted out as she remembered something important. She pointed at Alex. "Their son! He was accidentally injected with the stuff, but he wasn't infected. I don't know if that'll help you guys any or not..."

"I'm hungry!" Nicholas complained loudly. "David, apparently you're a beast at cooking, so, please, cook and feed me... or us." He said as he sat on one of the counters of a check-out station, grabbed five bag of beef jerky nearby, threw one to Mizuki, another to Alex, another to Thomas, the last one to Garath, ripped open his pack, and started munching. Ada was quite hungry as well. She walked over to the place Nicholas was sitting and grabbed a bag of chips near the counter. It also gave her an excuse to get closer to the Serge.
"Nicho, you know we can't do that, it'll attract the zombies. That jerky will have to hold you out." She said strictly. "If you're still hungry eat those snack, but we can't afford a fully cooked meal yet. Remember what Sasaki-sensei use to say, ‘Doing a job half way only leaves more work later.’ We have to finish locking up."
"That's true, if there are still leaks in this place, those things will come pouring in." Nina said, and Kalila nodded in agreement. "Hey, wait a minute, isn't Mr. Sasaki your sword-fighting teacher?" Kalila nodded. "Oh d*mn, he was hot!" Nina exclaimed. Kalila laughed and voiced her agreement.
Jain stuck her tongue out in disgust, asking if he was 37.

"Yeah! That's what I said!" Nicholas agreed with Jain. He pointed at Nina and his older sister, "You guys are freaks. Grave robbers!"

While that went on, Nikita made his way near Terry, Sarah, and David. He didn't like the way everyone was acting so calm. Sure, they did take the numbers of the infected down some and the big places that let infected leak in (the front and back of the store) were locked up, but they were still inside and posed a threat, more could still get in. He did not trust any of the adults, but he didn't much worry anymore now that Eri was gone. All of a sudden, his life was very precious to him again. He looked to Sarah and David, then to Sergeant Phillips. He said how they, motioned David, Sarah, and himself, all suspected Mizuki of being infected and how Eri, when she was infected, voiced her agreement. He pointed Mizuki out.
Kalila perked when she picked up what Nikita was saying. That p***k! He's so stubborn: once he makes an enemy, they're always an enemy to him.
"I'm so sick of you! You're such a jerk! Sergeant Phillips, Mizuki didn't do anything wrong and he's not infected." Kalila said, frowning and turning towards Nikita.
Nikita puffed out his chest, ready to defend himself. He told her to shut the f*ck up. He turned back to Terry and told him that Kalila was just Mizuki's little slut and was trying to defend him.
"You b*st*rd, at least talk like a civilized human-being!" Kalila said, turning red in the face with anger. "Sir, he just doesn’t like Mizuki, so he's trying to get him in trouble." she tried to say as calmly as she could to the Serge.
He rolled his eyes and told her to stay out of it. He tolled Terry she was willing to risk the lives of all these people just for one person. He was working on the emotional appeal.
Nina and Jain were completely taken aback by the sudden argument. Especially the insult, for "slut" was the last thing they ever expected any one to call Kalila. Nina mouth was agape and turned back to look at Mizuki. She examined him and his reaction.
"She doesn't have to stay out of anything, @$$hole!" Nicholas said, jumping off the counter. "And quit being such a f*ckin' hypocrite because you were risking our lives for Eri! You wouldn't let the Marshalls anywhere near her-"
Ada yelled for everyone to shut up.
Nicholas mumbled something about her defending her cousin.
The Russian woman narrowed her eyes at him, but said nothing more to Nicholas. She explained calmly how it was only fair for Sergeant Phillips to know all the information he can. She wiped chip crumbs off her hands on to her pant legs. Before Kalila or Nicholas could pipe back up, she continued. She said that they should utilize this time of no attack.
To ease the tension, Jain agreed. Nina looked at Kalila. She saw how her friend was shaking slightly, which meant she was pissed.
"Kali, why don't you go change? I'm sure being in blood-cover clothes-" she said as she bent the edge of her skirt only to see it was hardened with dried blood in its fibers. She wrinkled her nose again. "-is no fun. And, sweetie, those aren't going to protect your legs." She said pointing at the fishnet stockings and skirt. You need some pants, jeans or leather if possible." She finished, pointing to her jeans.

Nicholas sighed angrily as he realized they were right, "The clothes Mizuki got us should work." He took a look at Ada, Nikita, Sarah, Mizuki, and the new group’s clothing. Since they had joined Kalila, him, Mizuki, David, and Alex's group much later they were no where near as filthy as they were, and Mizuki had already cleaned himself. They didn't have to go through the blood-covered apartment or office area. He grabbed the clothes from the beach bag and tossed everyone's clothes to whom they belonged. He went off behind a shelf where no one could see him and changed.

Jain looked at the shirt, jeans, skirt, and corset in Kalila's arms. She whispered to Nina how the skirt could be worn by itself as lingerie. Nina rolled her eyes. Jain walked over to Kalila and said how it was unsafe for her to go by herself and how she should go with her.
"Oh no! You're not going anywhere near changing people, Jain... You pervert!" Nina said grabbing Kalila's hands. "I'll go with her..." She said frowning at Jain.
Jain mockingly took aback and feigned innocence, saying how she had no idea what Nina was talking about. When she saw that Nina was dead serious, Jain huffed. She mumbled how she wasn't the one who brought a lingerie skirt for Kalila, sending a joking glare to Mizuki and then sending him a knowing smile. A few moments later, a bag of marshmallows hit the side of her face.
Nina took Kalila into a shelved corner to change in private.

Nicholas came back changed and smiling. He hadn't realized how great it felt to be cleaner. Kalila and Nina came back a few minutes later. Kalila had decided to wear all the articles of clothing.
“If anyone wants to change clothes, now is the time. We don’t know how long these things plan to cower.” Kalila said, continuing her quiet voice. Oh God… I really need some sleep.
"Alright... Finish eating some snacks and we'll close off the rest of the exits." Nicholas said readjusting his hold on his battle rifle. "Jain, let's just say it's not what it seems like, alright?" he added, trying to get pressure off Mizuki.

Crimson felt like the background character in all of this, while everyone was reuniting and arguing and changing. So she stood there, waiting. During all of this, someone did speak to her.

Actually, she thought, he's trying to hit on me.

She looked at him straight in the eyes, her face expressionless and said nothing. He looked like an douchebag. Soon after that, her prediction came true.
She rolled her eyes, and continue to watch everyone else interact, but adrenaline still pulsed in her veins, so she impaitently said,

"Can we get to killing zombies, already?"

Mizuki nodded to Nina sagely as Kalila preformed her little dance. His expression seemed to read; See what I told you?
This was when all hell seemed to break loose. In a sudden surge of passion everyone seemed to realise everyone else was there. The reunion of a few seconds before seemed little more than a fizzle of glee. Suddenly everyone was embracing, shouting and laughing with eachother. Mizuki merely stood on the side of it all, taking it all in. It made him feel awkward in a way. Though he was definitely pleased to be reunited with Nina, he did not know many of the others, nor did he care much for them.
Growing up with very limited social experience, Mizuki was not used to such large shows of friendly affection, nor did he honestly believe that he was fully capable of feeling anything for this large group. He did not feel he had reserves of care deep enough to cater to such a large group of people, and that made him slightly paranoid. If he could not befriend these people, then they would turn against him, undermine his leadership skills and maybe worse. Maybe they would seek to alienate him, or spy on him, and discover his secret.
Mizuki turned his face away from the display of public affection and rubbed his upper arm uncomfortably, turning his attention over the the isles. They seemed shockingly empty.
Nothing had really struck him as being apocolyptic until now. Just empty shopping isles, splattered with dark stains and spilt produce. A limp arm lay stretched out across the isle, surrounded by loose batteries and car airfreshners. A sharp shiver ran down his spine, as he nibbled his lower lip nervously, averting his gaze. Looking back to the group, Mizuki finally spotted a face he recognised. Garath.
A small smile played across his features as he did so. It felt a century since he'd first ran past the kid, a huge group if infected at his tail. A century since Garath had stitched him back up. Mizuki casually ran his hand down his side. He felt the stitches hitch against the fabric of his shirt, prickly under his fingertips. But he didn't feel any pain, not like before. He recalled leaving Nina's flat, trying to get to this place in the first place. Recalled the absolute agony the stretching of his flesh had caused him. That was only a couple days before and yet already he felt no pain. Again the old fear of what he might find if he looked at his wounds began to kick up. Before it consumed him, he offered Garath a swift smile and a two fingered salute.

He studied Garath for some sort of reply, growing more and more internally awkward and self conscious as none came. It was like being back in his early teens, when he had been allowed in school before his condition had worsened. He'd offer smiles, the odd joke and try to make friends. But his salutations would always go unanswered, always ignored or treated with a slight superior sneer as whoever he was trying to approach simply shouldered past him. Back then, Mizuki was the odd one out. He was the kid wrapped in cotton wool, that wasn't allowed to do sports with the rest. Missed out on all the victories, the banter. Was the object of scorn and bitter hatred when it was pouring freezing rain outside and Mizuki was the only one permitted to sit in the warm. Mizuki would also have to have an assistant with him in class nearing the end of his school vocation, to watch him for his symtoms. Mizuki was the weird kid that had to carry around that horrific large needle, the adrenaline shot, everywhere he went in case he went into shock or something worse. No one had wanted to socialise with him back then because they could see it. Kids have an uncanny way of seeing what the adults do not or refuse to see. They saw Mizuki and they saw a kid on Death's door. It hung over him like a dark infectious crowd that threatened to swallow anyone that got too close.
Shrugging it off, Mizuki cast his eyes away from Garath and looked at the the rest of the group. His group. It was satisfying to know that now he had his own following, and even more satisfying to know, in a twisted way, that all the kids that had scorned him for being too frail and weak were now probably dead - torn apart in one way or another by this virus that had conversely granted Mizuki new strength. Again his thoughts went to his stitches, and to the horror of waking up with a mouth full of blood. But at what cost?.

Mizuki was shaken out of his brooding by Nikita voice. He heard talk of infected and from the corner of his eye saw the arrogant russian youth point an accusing finger in his direction. Mizuki didn't need to look to tell that he was saying all of this to Rambo. His stomach flipped in horror and rage as his teeth tried to grit together. He held them at bay, leaving his expression cool and neutral, as if he simply hadn't heard and had nothing to hide. If it came to it, Mizuki would simply say that Eri had said this because she had disliked him, and he her. He had felt her a liability and she knew that, so she had sought revenge. He was sure the others would back him up, after all the tension between the both of them had been more than noticable. But then there was the issue of the blood sample. No worries. He was sure that Sarah did not have the equipment here and now to fully analyse the content of his blood. He had taken some mediocre biology, and in all their analysis tests they had had to use machinary, telescopes, racks and catalysts. He was sure she couldn't fit all that in the tiny briefcase she carried around. He would wait for the heat around it to die down, steal it whilst they all slept, and replace it with someone else's blood. At the moment, he would quite happily spill Nikita's blood. . .

As if on cue of his bloodthirsty thoughts, Nikita swore at Kalila. Mizuki's every muscle tightened as he turned his face to stare daggers at the youth. But this was not the end of his rampage. No, he proceeded to call Kalila a slut. This time anger did register on Mizuki's face. Even his skill at masking his feelings could not hide an emotion that raw. A million ways to tear the other male limb from limb swam into his mind, each of which was more than physically possible given his new strength. Having feasted not long ago, the infection was not in control, but Mizuki was sure in a situation where his life was threatened, it could be summoned forth. However, he did not want to do that. It's one thing to uncage the beast, quite another to get it back in again.
He took one menacing step forwards.
"You better watch your mouth, you greasy b*****d. I don't care where the ******** you're from, that is no way to talk to a lady."
He was quite sure he was contradicting himself by swearing so much. But atleast his was not directly at a female.
Though his words seemed quite justified, his expression held an ulterior threat. His expression read; Say anything like that again, and I will rip out your tongue and choke you with it, you worthless pile of gutter scum.
And in Mizuki's mind, the threat was more than that. His patience had been tested by the other male for far too long. He had jepordised his role as leader by undermining him, he had alerted everyone, including the formidable Sergent Pain that had now entered the group that he could be infected and now he was insulting those who Mizuki held dearest. His mind was made up. Nikita presented too much of a threat to the group, and would have to be exterminated. It was a simple enough plan. He'd lure him away from the group and kill him. He'd make it look like the Crazies had done it. Hell, if Mizuki tore off Nikita's legs and left him where he knew the Crazies would find him, it would technically have been them, and not him, that had finished Nikita off.

An arm rested around his shoulders and Alex's sing song voice rang in his ears. Mizuki's anger still flared vehemently, but atleast now he could manage a smile. It was good to see that Alex was happy again. No sooner had the smile met his lips, did it falter. His nostrils twitched ever so slightly as the sweet smell of blood touched his senses. Looking across to Alex, he noted he was bathed in it. And now, thanks to his carelessness, so was Mizuki himself. He stared in half disguised disgust at the blood now on his shoulder and felt his stomach tighten. Something in his head clicked forwards another notch. He was about to shake Alex off, when Alex released him of his own accord.
Mizuki was too enchanted by the smell now coming off his shoulder in droves to notice the jerky thrown at him. It hit him in the chest and flopped to the tiles. Mizuki looked at it dumbly for a moment before realising what it was.
Letting out a shakey laugh he said; "A heads up would have been nice, Nick." before scooping it up off the floor.
As he ate the jerky slowly, and carefully, he secretly inhaled great gulps on the smell coming off his shirt. It helped him to pretend that it was that which he was eating, not the jerky. His stomach seemed adequately fooled and settled again.

Alex laughed, rubbing the back of his head when Nina told him that he had got her bloody. "Yeah, sorry bout tha--" He tried to finish but then was brutally attacked by Jain. "Gah!" He shouted, struggling to break free from the grip of the stronger female. When she captured Nicholas too he laughed and said, "Oh no! We're screwed!"
Sarah smiled slightly at her son's fun, although she was still keeping her eyes open to infected. It bothered her too how calm everyone was getting. She blinked for a couple of seconds when she felt her hair up in a ponytail. She slitted her eyes, quickly pulling it down and tying it in a bun. She hated ponytails, her mother had made her wear one as a child every time they went anywhere.
Alex rubbed his neck as everyone recovered from his mom's spaz moment. He waved to thomas, although there was something awkward about the boy that he didn't like too much. Quickly shuffling over to the awkward looking Mizuki, putting one arm around his shoulder. "C'mon man, lighten up just a little bit." Alex smiled full of happiness, totally forgetting that his shirt was completely covered in the now fallen Eri's blood. Alex flinched, quickly removing his arm from Mizuki when Nicholas tossed him the jerky.
"I would love to make food, but Kalila's right, we need to lock this place up, then we can eat..." He said, rubbing his hands together menacingly. He could only imagine the concoctions that he could put together with all the food in this mall. This would be there only fancy meal though, not only did he need to make good food, but he needed to make food that could be conservative. They were running on a limited supply of food.
Sarah listened as Nikita and Kalila battled it out. "A-Actually we don't know if he's infected yet. I still need to examine the samples of his blood I got earlier." She said, patting the metal suitcase and forgetting she got them by accident.
Alex looked at his clothes, quickly taking off his shirt and putting on the new one. He didn't put on any knew pants though, these jeans he was wearing were ones his nanna had sewn him herself. He didn't want to forget his grandparents.
David looked around at everyone. "Finish eating the snacks, then we'll close off the exits? Sweet!" David said with his big lovable grin. "My son and I will check out the kitchen, any other takers?"
Alex sighed, he loved how his dad automatically volunteered him for these things.
Sarah shook her head, "We can't split into groups any smaller than four people in my opinion. I can't go, cause I wouldn't feel right leaving all these children with no adult supervision..." She said, looking at them all, "Sorry, I'm very motherly..." She rubbed the back of her head.
Alex and David both looked at Nicholas at the same time. David said, "Hey Nicho, you should come too, maybe I can fix you some kind of snack in the kitchen." He said smiling, he didn't want his son to feel lonely.
