evabh What does everyone think about the upcoming baptisms? There hasn't been any religion on the Island that I can remember. Even the service for the dear departed in the crash was just a secular ceremony. So the baptism thread in the last episode seems out of place somehow. Is something on the island compelling Charlie to get the baby baptised? and is some other force trying to prevent it by turning everyone against him? The problems at the end of the last episode seem to center around the baptism issue somehow. Well, the baptism issues only seem to come out of nowhere. But Charlie has always had religious issues. At the end of HotRS, during the Moth, during Whatever the Case May Be, and more recently in The 23rd Psalm... Religion is a big part of Charlie's arc, it seems. Religion and faith and belief are all big parts of the Lost mythology. I mean, Jack's last name is Shepard and his dad's name is Christian. Charlie writes F-A-T-E on his fingerwraps. Locke and Boone find a plane full of Virgin Mary statues (full of heroin of course, but still.) Eko finds a Bible. Anyway, it's possible that nothing wanted the baby baptised, and that Charlie reverted to his earliest definition of Save, which was religious. And after his convo with Eko, he jumped even farther into that definition, and concluded that it was a baptism that was in order. However, noone really sat down and talked to him, so he started getting stressed out and went about the whole thing badly. Baptism has also become a general term in English for any sort of experience that one is tested and in some way purified by. We use phrases like baptism by fire. I don't think there are gonna be many more ACTUAL baptisms. But there will be plenty of baptism in a less religious sense.

I always thought it looked more like L-A-T-E.... and then when the fate got mixed in I started seeing pictures of it saying F-A-T-E. And by saying Kate and Claires convo ended badly I should have said weirdly, they just kinda stopped the conversation.

I just...I felt bad for Charlie but I thought he could have explained his dreams to Locke...seeing as Locke had the dreams that came true as well, as had already been mentioned, also in that episode with Ana and the dog, that dog as much as we love it, is bad luck. Walt got kidnapped, Shannon got killed, so perhaps Ana will follow in her footsteps? Here's hoping...

Which they make harder than it is. Anyway, Charlie wrote F-A-T-E on them in the first few episodes, and then when he started getting chummy with Claire, he changed them to L-A-T-E, I imagine in hopes that she managed to have a late delivery, at least after the rescue boats arrived. Or possibly, that the boats were late to give him a chance to buddy-up to her more. Whichever.

Yeah Vincent is Satan anything that befriends him has a bad outcome razz

Maliciousness Yeah Vincent is Satan anything that befriends him has a bad outcome razz Except Brian. Brian gets to relive his bachelor days. Though, through Vincent's influence, he's likely to get the syph. Poor Brian. He wanted the syph as much as he wanted to be Walt's daddy.

On another note - I just saw the preview for this weeks eppy! It looks very intense. Though Ana saying that "they're back" seems silly since we SAW the Others in the last episode.
