[[ >> I was waiting for somebody else to post first.]]
Crimson was waiting for everyone else to enter before she seated herself. She wanted to make sure that there weren't any infected close by for them to run into to.
Sighing, she spoke,
"Not put more pressure, but can we hurry up? I rather get out of here quick."
Looking around, she asked Nina,
"Is there anything you want me to get before we go?"
Then, Crimson picked up a rumbling nearby. She spun around, narrowing her eyes, listening in. After awhile, she heard nothing.
Hmm, what was that about?
We need to leave now.

[[Some of this post is before the current spot, just to fill in the massive hole I left]]
As the others did their job, Thomas attempted to land a hit on the infected. Aside from him having no field experience what-so-ever, the gun he was using wasn't really the best for long range firing.
After Thomas fired, and missed horribly, he took a look at Terry's progress.
Wow, Terry looks like a pro, I wouldn't know where to begin if I had to set a sniper rifle, I didn't even know you HAD to...
"Terry, I'm not doing s**t sitting in the window like this, I'm going down to help the others."
Thomas put the safety on and put the gun in his pants. He was at least smart enough to know that putting the gun in your pocket was a bad idea.
As he made his way down, he couldn't help but notice the foul stench of the rotting corpses.
I wonder if the scent being carried by the wind could transfer the disease... and if so, we're royally ******** took the gun from his pants and turned off the safety, he managed to put a few rounds in the infected that Terry had not yet killed.
I can still see that figure in the horizon, we need to get the hell out of here...
He then proceded to the truck, greating everybody else with a half-wave, the kind where you just hold your hand up casually. It at least made him feel like there was a bit of normality in the situation.
"Nina, I'm ready to head out whenever you guys are. We better hurry, I don't want to be here when the big s**t hits the fan"
Thomas sat in the bed of the trunk and checked his clip.
s**t, only seven left...

((It's okay, Crimson. I understand. The posts just aren't frequent enough for that though, most of the time. Now I just need a post from Terry.))
Nina was grateful for Garath's efficiency. He did not waste any time. He got straight in without a fuss. Nina was also proud to see... It was not fear that drove him either. She laughed with a hand over he mouth at Garath's comment. She did not want to draw the attention of any infected. If we were in a Zombie movie... Garath could be the serious one that says the one liners. She thought, spurring on the laughter. Crimson was losing her patience. Nina was, unknown to her, doing the same thing the other girl had been doing. Account for, waiting for everyone to get in, before she got in. Crimson asked her a question. "No. I think we have everything we need for now. We'll have everything else at Wal-Mart." Nina said as she shook her head and got in the truck.
Jain squished herself against the door so she could create enough space for everyone to sit as comfortably as possible. That was quite a hard thing to do. Besides all the passengers’ the floorboard had a bunch of guns and ammo on it. Jain had pushed a great deal of it on to the floorboard from the seat the first time she had gotten in the serge's truck. She knew the safety had to be on for all the guns or there would have been no possible way for her to survive with the military man's driving habits. She knew she should have given the man a break. After all, there had been a horde of infected running after them... Nevertheless, she had already been scared to death, the man's driving hadn't helped her any.
Nina pushed herself past Thomas, trying her best not to hurt the kid, and sat in between Jain and Garath. The four of as have to sit back here: Terry's driving, but the other seat seems to be taken. And, indeed it was. The majority of the artillery was in that front seat. No doubt, to be within close arm range of the driver’s arm. Well... We're a lucky bunch. Got ourselves a Marine man... A Sergeant at that. She gave herself a chance to be happy with her luck. A good way of keeping "zombies" out of her mind. That rumbling had been making her flinch every time she heard it, and she was very upset with herself for such. Jain smiled brightly as Nina plopped herself down next to her. She had wanted her friend to sit next her. The added bonus was that Garath was on her friends other side. She saw the bit of romance that seemed to be blossoming between them. She intended to observe... and help a little bit. She would pay a price though, Crimson was going to sit way across the way, when she came in.

[[since Metzli finished her post, I'm guessing it is okay to post now...]] Alex watched the surrounding mall carefully. He didn't want anything getting near Eri... anything. Taking a deep breath, he wiped some sweat from his forehead. He was burning up, HE could feel it now. Although he wasn't going to let anyone know it. He would rather break down and fall over from exhaustion than have people take pity on him. He was hoping that he would get better soon, and not have to worry anyone. Then Alex nearly blew Mizuki's head off when he broke the long overbearing silence. Letting out a deep sigh when he said all he had to do was pee. Alex then realized it had been quite a while since he had last gone himself. Even so, that could wait untill they sealed up the Wal-Mart. How much longer could that take? Two, maybe three hours tops... Alex visibly jerked when Mizuki mentioned moving Eri. He looked towards the man. Hearing him out... UNTILL he said he wanted to carry her. His eyes went wide in suprise. "B-But my mom said not to move her..." Alex stated, as if looking for a reason to keep her out of Mizuki's reach. Although he knew Mizuki was right also, the infected would be swarming to them eventually. BUT his mom had said not to move her. BUT if they don't move her they will get infected. BUT if they move her, her condition could get worse. BUT if they don't move her, she'll get eaten... Letting out a sigh of defeat Alex looked up at Mizuki. "...Fine..." He said, basically forcing himself to say it. For some reason his body didn't want him to say it. Looking up at Mizuki, his eyes had changed. They were somewhat fiercer than before. They were like they were when he thought his mom had died. "You hurt her and I swear to God I will blow your brains across this store..." He said without a hint of regret. Then his eyes became soft again. He bent over and picked up Eri. Keeping the makeshift blanket on her he carried her over to Mizuki. Standing in front of him, he held her out to her. His arms were shaking slightly, not wanting to give her up to him. But honestly he had no choice. He was sweating like crazy, his face was REALLY pale now, and he could barely hold her right now. There was no way in hell he was going to be able to carry her through the store and untill she woke up. Even if he would like to, he had his limitations. Although for some reason right now those limitations appeared to be closing in on him. He looked Mizuki in the eyes, even though he was visibly hurting Alex didn't show a hint of weakness on his face. He waited for Mizuki to take Eri. He REALLY didn't like the idea of giving up Eri to Mizuki though. Don't get me wrong, Mizuki is and okay guy. But... Alex had subconciously made it his job to protect Eri. Seeing as how most no one else would even go near her, or at least that's the way it felt to Alex.

((I'm glad to see that you checked back though, Metzli. I was getting kind of worried. Yes... you have guessed right Funny_Man0.))
Kalila took the duct tape from David with a nod of thanks and switched her holding on the red phone. She held the base of the phone in place with her foot and held the tape with her hands. She yanked the tape to the correct size and attempted cutting it with her teeth. However, this took several attempts. She never had the skill, she always got her father to do it for her or had scissors handy. This thought danced into her head and saddened her, but more importantly it frustrated her until she finally got the tape cut. What a bunch of misfits... she thought as she sadly compared their little party of people to her family unit. At least we have some bad@$$es and scientists... We survived this long. That's our only luck. This f*ckin' sucks... Kalila looked from her peripheral vision, as she applied the duct tape over the base to secure it's position, at Sarah and David. Now is not the time to care what other people think of your actions... she thought as she continued to finish up. “A month? That's plenty of time. We should be mentally recovered by then. Hopefully, a bunch of them starve off as well... I mean, we haven't seen much normal people around, right? How long can they salvage edible things when they lack brain power?” She said standing up and stretching. Kalila hoped for a reassuring word or two from the scientists.
She looked at the tense wires connecting to the base of the phone, bent to it, took a finger, and plucked the wire hard. The same deep note as before echoed alone. Kalila took her katana into a loose stance, more to signal to Mr. and Mrs. Marshall to be on their guard, all the while smiling when she noticed that the phone hadn't moved at all. Nice and tight... Good. A couple isles down from the group, unknown to them, a pair of infected looked up to the ceiling curiously at the odd sound. Kalila held her katana over her shoulder as she held the phone with her other hand. She could still down swoop with her blade if need be, but she couldn't handle a katana one-handed. One swoosh would really be the only chance she had. She walked with the phone, its coiled wire stretching with each step, to the door. When she made it to the door, she peered out of the glass, looking in every direction. It was dark, but the light emanating from the store itself was enough to light up a good range in front of it. Seems safe enough. she thought as she lowered the phone to hold it in-between her knees. At first there was the noise of the speakers coming to life from along the warehouse-like roof. Grunts and moans were heard from every direction. Kalila quickly loosened her knees and the noise was gone. Well, at least we know the P.A. system works… she tried to reassure herself. Her pessimism did not let her accept it. Her heart was ramming into her ribcage. She lifted the katana with both hands and chopped away at the wooden planks until they broke completely. The automatic door did not open. The people who had originally shut off the doors had either turned the motor off to the doors or broke them when shutting them off. Kalila manually opened the door enough to stick the phone outside. When she stuck the phone outside she pulled the door shut as fast as she could so the phone didn't snap back inside due to the tension on the wire. A bang was heard on the door and Kalila jumped into stance quickly. A second later she realized it had been the phone against the door and felt extremely stupid. Got use to being in a big group... she observed of herself. Not only that, the darkness outside helped. Getting kind of jumpy... She thought with a mental sigh. Another fact scared her, which she was trying not to think about: The infected always were attracted to the light.
"Now that that's done... We can do what we're really here for- I'm really sorry..." She said looking apologetically at the two scientists. She was close enough to these two to think of them like an aunt and uncle. Heck, I like these two better then a bunch of my aunts and uncles. she thought. "You understand though, right? A friend of mine, as close as Alex, is out there with another group. I can't just leave them." She mumbled as she looked at Sarah's bulging pockets of pad locks. "Let's start locking doors..." She said, looking a bit jittery.
Nicholas looked back at Alex's smiling face emotionlessly. He wasn't so sure about this whole thing. The one-year-older boy's smile was suppose to be reassuring, however it didn't reassure Nicholas much. The silence was interrupted when Mizuki told everyone his business. A smirk cracked on Nicholas' face. He found it ironic that Mizuki would say this right after he said it would be one of the only things he wouldn't warn anyone about. Ada rolled her eyes when Mizuki said such. She mumbled something in Russian about how teenagers these days were rude. This made Nikita look up from Eri to his older cousin and frown. He spoke back to her in Russian, saying how there was no need for manners now and he was going to live it up. "Enjoy your piss." Nicholas said in deadpan humor. In that regard, he felt rather alright. He had to go, but not enough to actually go through the effort. Last time he went was the night before, when they were making their way to the gun store. If Kalila had been near she would have made Nicholas go to the bathroom. She had that mother's habit. Mizuki was back and Nicholas couldn't help notice the guy hadn't washed his hands. How can he...? This is not the place or time for such unsurvivor-like things... That's another life now. he thought with a audible sigh. He couldn't help but shake his head at his own seriousness. He didn't like this atmosphere. Nicholas nodded at Mizuki when he repeated what he told him earlier.
"We can't go after them-!" Nicholas said right after Mizuki suggested such, but cut himself off when the older one continued. When he finished Nicholas started up again. "What if we end up going on a stupid goose chase? You know, we go to the front, but they actually just finished up and was going to the buck of the store. So we go to the back of the store and then they come back here to see us all missing..." He said with a bit of annoyance in his voice. It wasn't annoyance at Mizuki, but with that kind of situation. Every time he and his sister would split up from their group, back during their normal lives, it's exactly what use to happen to them. When Mizuki spoke of carrying Eri, Nicholas perked up a little. He was interested to see the reactions. I thought he hated Eri... was his first thought. Alex finally spoke and Nicholas narrowed his eyes. "Hey, you calm down." Nicholas said to Alex. "He ain't gonna do anything." Nikita spoke at the same time, saying that if he wouldn't dare if he didn't wanna receive thrashing. His eyes were narrowed and he was very easy to irk. It was the lack of marijuana coming up again. However, the young man paused. He stood up and held his arm out in front of Alex and Mizuki. He first looked to Mizuki and asked him why he wanted to do it. He said that he should be the one to do it because Eri had been with them to start with. Then he looked to Alex and as much as he hated it, he knew the boy and Eri really liked each other. He told Alex he knew he could trust him with Eri. We, he had said, point to Ada and himself, cared for her before he did. Ada took no interest in the argument. She let her mind wander as she kept guard. She hadn't understood why the Indian siblings, David, and his son had put so much effort into finding their friend. Now again, she saw Nicholas rear up in protectiveness for Mizuki. Though it was much rarer than Kalila, the girl seemed head over heels for the young man, he was still defensive. Ada thought Nicholas didn't even seem like the kind to care for anything outside himself, but she was proven wrong. She though it was still odd.
Nicholas was about involve himself in the argument when a the P.A. system went off. There was nothing spoken, just the sound of it coming on a moving noise and then it was off. "Alright... Let's go." Nicholas said changing his mind. "But, we have to go quickly. I'm not going to freakin' stay a step behind them the whole time." He said. He had pointed to the speaker on the roof as evidence for his motivation. His sister was not with him and he felt exposed without her. He hefted up his gun against his body and started to walk in the direction of the front, letting everyone figure out the Eri thing without him. Ada seemed to agree with that logic because she went after him. She didn't care if Mizuki or Nikita carried the girl, as long as she was taken safely to the destination. She's let Alex choose. However, her motive for following Nicholas could have been Kalila’s warning to protect him too. She kept her eyes active and her guns in the air. The noise had activated some movement because three infected were down with her shots even before Ada left the isle completely. She looked ahead and saw Nicholas take out one himself, rather smoothly too.
((Alrighty... I updated the beginning story part just a tiny bit... If you want to check it out. Pretty much just how far the virus spread at the bottom. Also... Just clarifying the brain, lungs, and digestive tract is an infected's main organs...))

Alex couldn't help his overprotective behavor. He had learned in life that the only people you could trust were yourself, close friends, and some family members. He trusted Mizuki to a point, the point that he knew Mizuki could protect the group. But other then that Mizuki hadn't really said anything to Alex, other then barking orders. David smiled at Kalilah's appology. "Don't appologize." David said, ruffling the girls hair. "I understand completely. After all, I did follow Alex through the city just to find you and Nicholas right?" He asked, walking to the doors. He started locking them. Sarah smiled at David's comment. Although one of Kalila's past comments were bothering her. "Um, Kalila... About the starvation thing... An infected can go fourteen days without food. After that point they will resort to eating anything, ANYTHING. I've seen an infected trying to eat glass and metal before." She said sighing. She was giving Kalila the REALLY dumbed down version of the starvation thing, but it was still true. David continued where his wife left off, "When an infected is on the brink of death they WILL in fact resort to eating other infected to survive. Of course this is a last resort." He said, shutting a door and locking it. "Survival of the fittest may have been long lost among humans, before now of course. But the infected still have it. After about two or three weeks only the strongest, fastest, best infected will be left... that's when the real trouble will come..." David said, mostly off of hunches and hypothosis. Sarah agreed with her husband. Nodding, she finished, "So, before that happens we will need to think up a plan, go somewhere where the infected can't..." She said, not really able to think of any other solution. She smiled at Kalila. "That infected nonsense is just one hypothosis though... so don't get your hopes down just yet. We've made it this far, there's no way we are going without a fight..." She said, flexing her arm reasuringly.

Final shot before I move out, Terry thought to himself as the blackened crosshair moved over the mutilated head of an infected. He pulled the trigger, for the last time the Barret .50 cal thrusted into his chest and the head exploded into cavalcade of blood and chunks of flesh. He quickly put the cap back onto the scope and rested it on his back, then picked up what was left of the rounds he had laid on the window and his Barret's cleaning kit, looking around to make sure that he had taken everything he needed. Terry took out his M1A1 rifle and reloaded it with the rounds he found from his last visit to the truck and headed down the ladder. He sprinted his way to the truck watching the restless kids waiting impatiently, all the while shooting at what was left of the infected. Finally Terry literally jumped into the front seat, jammed the key in and put the truck into ignition. The low growl of the truck rumbled though him as he shifted from PARK to DRIVE and kicked down on the footpedal. The truck leaped forward and started rolling at a steady pace. Lets get the hell out of here...

Garath watched as everone else crammed into the back of the truck. It was a bit crowded but Garath wasn't going to complain. It was great just to be moving again. Garath waved through the window to the zombies that were being left behind. "Bye. Don't hope ta see you again." considering the speed at which the truck was moving it should be pretty safe. If they encountered any zombies infront of them the truck would just run the zombies over. Garath relaxed against the back of the seat. It was shishy back here but Garath felt at ease again. Garath was also grateful that he was sitting beside Nina, though it was entirely by chance. Actually Nina had kind of pushed her way over to this side. Had she wanted to sit beside him? Any ways Garath finally spoke up again. "I wonder how far it is to the wallmart and if the others are already there waiting for us." It was an idle remark but Garath felt the need to talk. He still hadn't gotten any sleep because of the zombie attack. Garath idly regretted not making some coffee when there was a chance. Then again even if there had been coffee Garath knew he probably wouldn't have drank it. Another thought occured to Garath. "When did the out break start? If it was late in the day there might be a lot of shopper zombies there. And even if there aren't zombie shoppers, looters may have gone to Wallmart and been caught there." Garath brought up the topic because he felt it should be discussed. It would be a good idea to have a plan for when they arrived there.

Crimson's hair waved in the wind, getting into her eyes and mouth. Growling, she deftly ripped off the hem of her pants and tied up her hair.
Crimson felt everyone around, feeling a bit cramped. She was next to Garath and Thomas, and from all the adrenaline were smelling a bit ripe. Wrinking her nose, she faced the window, but the stink of rotting flesh smelled worse.
I'm not going to win at this, am I?
Then Crimson studied the array of weaponry on the floor. She decided to go with the Glock 18, since it was small, easier to handle in the cramped position, and fast.
"I'll watch the back, anyone else game?"

Mizuki looked to Alex with all due seriousness on his face and the mention of his brains decorating the surround area of store. Though it was in his nature to be confontational and sarcastic, he suprised everyone, including himself by smiling gently and nodding his head in agreement. "Understood." He didn't even offer a cheeky salute to make light of the situation. Instead, he said it in a solemn resigned manner as if agreeing to a binding verbal contract. After all, this suspician was only to be expected. Mizuki hadn't exactly displayed the best intentions to Eri in the past. When Nicholas rose to defend him, Mizuki turned his head to the side and gave Nicholas a warm affectionate smile, a geniune happiness registering on his face. He was used to Kalila speaking up for him - not that the common placeness about it made it any less pleasing - but the fact that Nicholas liked him enough to stand up for him, to stand up to a friend he had known longer than he had known Mizuki himself, was deeply touching. As Eri was offered out to him, helpless and frail, like some form of virigin sacrifice, something ugly stirred in the back of his mind. It recoiled away from the delicate form and became inflammed with the impulse to strike it down and tear it to pieces. This bare animal instinct in the recesses of his mind was all too aware that as of yet the virus still inhabited her young body. Therefore she still embodied a threat to him on some level. But Mizuki was in control of that now. Instead, his humanity looked upon the pathetic pale form with a kind of pity. He still felt no love for Eri, but he wasn't comfortable with leaving her here to die. Despite his troubled and fractured relationship with the boy's father, Alex had broken through Mizuki's defences and Mizuki found himself quite liking the kid. That is to say, Mizuki would actually care if he was to die. Which is something he couldn't say about everyone in the group. His eyes flickered to Ada, and then to his own suprise, to Nikita. Though the russian guy was more on a par with Mizuki's own personality traits - it seemed that in brutal honesty, Mizuki wasn't quite ready to give two shits about his safety.
As if on that cue Nikita did something else to damage his growing worth in Mizuki's eyes, sending him plummeting down back towards zero. He thrust an arm between Alex and himself, forcing Mizuki to take half a step backwards to avoid behind clipped by his elbow. Mizuki shot him an icy glare as he did so. "I want to do it because I care for the group. I'm not so ******** cold that I want to leave her here to die." Mizuki hissed at him. Despite trying to remain calm to gain Alex's trust, he found himself squaring up to Nikita. His fingers flexed into curled fists, but before he could throw one of them, his self restraint kicked in and he loosened them. Shoving his hands in his pockets to remove any further temptation. The same cruel barbarian instincts in the back of his mind was stirring, sending impulses through to his concious mind to attack Nikita and remove him from the equation with a simple latching of teeth to jugular. However, whereas before these impulses had been pretty much removed by his concious human thoughts - Nikita's words had damaged Mizuki's pride and need to be in control. He had presented a very real threat to his dominance on both sides of him and that was something Mizuki could not let go lightly. Subconciously he ran his tongue across his teeth. Though this may have appeared just an outward gesture of irritation, it was really his body preparing to act out on his unconcious impulses. "I offered to do it because Alex can't." He looked at Alex a little apologetically, but the true strength of his apology was diluted and clouded by the rage now in his mind. This however was somewhat chased away as in this cursory look to Alex, Mizuki saw for the first time the lack of colour in the boys skin and the sweat on his brow. It looked awefully reminiscent to . . . Mizuki's pupils shot back and he completely ignored Nikita's presence. He reached out and brushed a palm gently across Alex's forehead, brushing some of the sweat-soaked hair out of his face. Feeling the heat coming off the boys skin, his lips tightened. Nikita started up again, arguing he should carry Eri. Mizuki's upper lip curled in a slight snarl of irritation, but he didn't removed his eyes from Alex. "I still stand firm on carrying Eri." He said firmly. "It'll show you, Alex, that I can be trusted." Mizuki left out the part that the only reason he was even helping Eri to begin with was because Alex seemed to care for her, and he valued Alex's feelings. Somehow he thought that would sour the deal. He kept his voice low, so as to only address Alex. "I also think that someone should carry you. But it's your choice." Being a guy of strong ego, Mizuki knew that suggesting Alex was weak in any shape or form could set off fireworks, and evencause dislike. That's why he kept it on a quiet personal level between Alex and himself. "Eri is the way she is because of the stuff in that needle. The same stuff thats in you now. Though you seem to be toughing it out a lot better, " Mizuki somehow hoped this subliminal compliment and subsiquent stroking of Alex's ego would help his suggestion go down smoother, "it's better to be safe than sorry." Straightening up he looked at them all and ran his fingers through his hair, once more adopting his self claimed leader role. "My main objective at the moment is to get Eri holed up somewhere safe. Somewhere she can be left to rest and recooperate. We can't go and do any real damage to the Infected numbers when we have to watch out for her simultaneously. I suggest that someone stay with her. We can't leave her holed up on her own, I mean, what happens if she wakes up alone and panics and goes out for a wander." He turned his head from the group to Alex and shot him a grin. "What about you lover boy? Would you be willing to guard her?" Mizuki hoped that by masking it as a selfless act of bravery, he could convince Alex to also take a time out from the fight and rest up as well. This way it also protected his reputation with the group. That said, he made to accept Eri from Alex's arms. Mizuki looked at the tender way in which Alex held Eri and felt bad for what he was about to do.
He reached out to the blanket that wrapped her up and tore a stray fold that was hanging down off with a forceful swipe of his hands. He then began to tie her wrists together with it. Alex, with good reason, recoiled and Mizuki locked his eyes with his own. "Trust me okay. This is for her own safety." Whilst keeping Alex's attention focused on him, Mizuki swiftly finished tying Eri's wrists together before accepting her from Alex's arms before he had time to change his mind. Her wrists tied together, Mizuki looped her arms over his head. Gently shifting her around him so that she was on his back, he began to move his hands away at a slow pace, letting her weight settle and allowing himself to become accustomed to it. Still, the moment all his support was removed, she slipped back. It seemed she would fall off completely, until she slid back to far that her bound wrists caught around his throat. Though this held her in place, all of her weight suddenly concentrated on his windpipe, Mizuki grit his teeth in visible discomfort as he held what little breath he had working around the next but with essential swiftness. Reaching behind him, he grabbed Eri and pulled her up a litte, relieving the pressure on his throat. Awkwardly supporting her with one hand, he grabbed the end lenghts of the blanket that cacooned her and reached them around his front, he removed his supporting hand and grabbed the other length, tying them around his front tightly almost like a belt. Like this, Eri was fixed to him in a piggyback fashion, but left his hands free to weild a gun. Her limp head lolled and rested against his shoulder, and the darker part of his mind went crazy. It felt like something was physically slamming against the walls of his skull in desperation to fling Eri away from him. Frowining slightly, he ignored it and looked about the group.
Nicholas was already walking in the direction of the front of the store. Three infected surfaced and Mizuki raised his gun. But smiled as he saw he really didn't need to. Nicholas was on top of his game. He ignored Ada's contribution completely. She wasn't a person to him so much as a helping gun. He looked to Alex and offered an encouraging smile, hoisting his gun and setting off after Nicholas. Nicholas was right of course, they were going to have to be quick. But what he was also concious about - was that the need to put Alex and Eri somewhere safe was more pressing. And with one quick glance at Alex's pallor he grimaced and how short time was looking.

Alex waited for Nikita and Mizuki to solve their issues on their own. He didn't want, nor did he have the energy to, get in the middle. Although he did slightly recoil when Mizuki put his hands to Alex's head. Alex could feel the heat coming off his own forehead, so god only knows how hot it felt to Mizuki. Alex smiled, he knew what Mizuki was thinking. He looked up confidently at Mizuki, although this look conflicted with the condition his body was currently in, he said, "I'll protect her... Hopefully by the time she wakes up I'll feel better..." He smiled, sweat forming once again on his forehead. He was STILL seeming to be getting worse. He couldn't seem to catch his breath, he was burning up, his skin was pale, and his vision was getting blurry. Even with these weaknesses, for some reason he was becoming sharper. When the three infected came out he pulled out his smith & wesson and nailed one of them right between the eyes from the complete other side of the group. Reloading the revolver style .49 calibur handgun, he held it firm. Walking with the rest of the group he subconciously stayed close to Mizuki and Eri. Peering at Mizuki out of the corner of his eye he asked, "Where do you plan on leaving us hulled up?" Alex was much more then ready to defend Eri. From where he was standing he could hear Eri's soft breathing. For some reason it seemed his hearing was improving... Alex just ignored it, it was probably just his imagination. He was still waiting for Mizuki to give him an answer.

Mizuki turned to look at Alex. The kid was looking increasingly rough. His colour was all but gone, a horrid waxy grey replaing the rosiness of his cheeks. Sweat hung fixated like dew across his brow, glistening on his hair and eyelashes. But despite feeling healthy enough now, Mizuki was afaid that he knew all to well what the boy was going through. He only prayed that he was wrong. As he started forwards he noted Alex stumble slightly and actively went to grab him - but something in his head screamed at him the moment before his fingers brushed the boy and he snatched his hand back as if from hot coals. Aware of how this word look, Mizuki offered a nervous laugh and excused himself; "Ha, thought you were going for a second there then, Alex." His eyes flickered across the boys face more more, somethign squirming in his gut. Perhaps he was just being irrational. Having Eri and the virus still in her body in such close contact with him was really messing his head up. He shifted his gun to one hand and pinched the bridge of his nose slightly, feeling the onslaught of a headache coming on. Shaking his head slightly he resumed his hold of the gun. That was when Alex asked his question.
Mizuki cast his eyes up to the rafters of the store and sucked in a breath as he racked his brains. That was a really good point. Surely he couldn't just leave them anywhere. It had to be secure. He would have naturally suggested the store room but he knew for a fact that that was open to the outside. Besides - it was far too big. There was no way of guranteeing that they weren't leaving both weakened kids in with a few hidden infected. What they needed was somewhere small and contained. Somewhere where Alex could contact them if there was any trouble. That's when it all clicked into place and Mizuki's head snapped down level and he hurried afew paces forwards to slow Nicholas. "Wait!" His voice wasn't loud, but it was perhaps more comannding than he had intended it to be. "Don't these shopping center things have a booth where the manager sits? A place where there is an intercom that can sound through the speakers?" That would be the perfect place to store both Eri and Alex. Confined with access to the whole store. All they would need to do would be to board it up from the inside and lock them in.

wahmbulance ((Alright guys, after this post... Know that my posting rate might go down by a little bit. This week and next week are on the busier side for me. Please, character's already in the Wal-Mart, you can put another post up. Just know I might not respond in a while or all at one. I might do it in pieces like I did this one.)) wahmbulance
Nina's eyes followed Terry as he made his way to the vehicle. His face was set in an expression one would... Well... Associate with the military. The serge got into the truck with so much force that the truck dipped to his weight a little and rocked back and forth. Jain and Nina bumped together, since they had been squished together closely. They wanted everyone else to have enough room, and they knew each other the most so did not mind being in such close proximity of each other. However, Nina's elbow hit her friend's rib cage. Jain let out a grunt of pain and frowned at her friend. Nina returned a sheepish smile. Jain quickly flicked her hand in the universal sign of "aw, it's ok." The vehicle jerked into a steady motion and Nina brought up a triumphant fist. "Finally, after all this time, we're going to the f*ckin’ Wal-Mart! I bet you Kalila and them are there by now. What bullsh*t... We were supposed to be there first." Nina said to everyone, though it looked more directed to the two sitting by her sides. "f*ckin' horde of zombies." she said shaking both of her fists dramatically. Jain smirked, but didn't find Nina's joking in very good taste. When Garath spoke up both girls turned to look at him.
Jain found the question odd, thus lifted an eyebrow and asked where Garath was from. Nina laughed a little and said he was from Canada. Jain expressed her understanding and nodded. She felt safe, amongst the closely squished friends, in the car. The weaponry all over the floor helped too. Jain had put the duffle bag of short blades at her feet. "The Wal-Mart’s not far... We have about three more blocks after this one." Nina answered his unasked, but implied question with a smile, then Garath continued. Nina quickly shook her head. "The outbreak started yesterday in the morning... It's been two days now." she said pointing at the night sky. "New York City was put under evacuation at about noon. So, there was heavy traffic going away from the city. No one, hopefully, would stop at a Wal-Mart. At least... If they didn't want to risk getting stuck in even more traffic." She said a bit unconfidently. "However... Looters... That might be a problem. Maybe I should talk to Kalila and see how they are... Or where they are." Nina mumbled reaching into her pocket for the walkie-talkie. "Planning this out's a good idea." She complimented Garath.
Jain looked at Crimson when she spoke up and giggled a little. She had noticed the girl looked a little aggravated. She said she was sure the Serge would cover the front and they were in a moving vehicle so not much could happen on the sides. Jain didn't really want to bother with Terry's guns. He never gave them permission to use them, so she didn't feel it right. Nina held her breath and pressed the button on the walkie-talkie.
Kalila accepted her hair being ruffled, smiled back at David, and nodded. Then, Sarah spoke up. She turned her head to face the other scientist and listened with wide, awe-struck eyes. Her gaze switched back to David as he picked up where his wife left off. "Holy crap, we really are in a freakin' apocalypse..." Kalila mumbled under her breath. She listened to Sarah and gave the woman a hollow look in return. "If the two of your hypotheses,” she said spreading an open palm to both of them. “are wrong who in the heck's gonna be right?" She asked rhetorically, a hand on her hip. "You better believe I'm- we're going to go fighting.” She said with narrowed eyes.
Kalila let the two scientists finish up the front door lockdown. She looked about her surroundings, walked towards the checkout station Nicholas and her had left their stuff under, and sighed. It was hard to keep her mind from wandering on what they had just said. However, Kalila’s eyes caught two infected wandering about the edge of an isle. Their faces were in the beginning stages of rotting, the odd gray-green color. One had a ripped ear and they both were dipped into the hunch everyone had come to associate with them. Kalila kept very still for they weren’t looking in their direction yet. Both of them were looking up at the roof in curiosity, taking unsteady steps. Kalila’s eyes flickered to the wallet Nikita had earlier put on the shelf. Kalila’s eyes widened when the static-y noise of her walkie-talkie went off. She quickly went down beneath the station and opened up her backpack to get the device. ”I repeat: Kalila are you there?” Nina asked impatiently. “Pick up, woman…! Over.” The vice came loudly through the walkie-talkie. Kalila was in a mixture of relief, happiness, fear, and anticipation. She quickly picked up the device and peaked up over the counter. The infected had a set expression of offensive attack. They were galloping in her direction. The ripped ear of one of them flopped with every step. Kalila quickly scurried on top of the counter, stood up, and pressed the button on the device. "Nina! This isn't really a good time. I'm..." she said as she kicked one of them in the face. "Fighting." She finished on the walkie-talkie. When it had fell back on to its partner, Kalila stuck the device in her thigh length fishnets. When they stood back up, she had her katana ready and decapitated one of them in one fatal, upward motion. The head went flying. Nina had visibly flinched when she heard her friend’s response. "Sorry, Kali!" She said over the walkie-talkie. "Whenever you get a chance. Tell me where you guys are. We're heading to the Wal-Mart right now." She went ahead and said. She figured if Kalila was in the middle of fighting already, there was really no risking stealth. Kalila stabbed downward into the other ones eye with great force, to busy to catch a glimpse of the decapitated head exploding a distance away. She had been listened to Nina and wanted very badly to talk back to her. The katana stabbed through the brain. The infected just fell backwards like a deactivated machine. Kalila sighed in relief and took the walkie-talkie out of her fishnets. "Nina, we're already at the Wal-Mart." She said cleaner off the edge of her katana one-handed and lazily on her already filthy skirt. "I don't know when you're getting her, but we have a phone out the door for you to talk to us. For now... We have to finish up locking all the other doors." She sounded out of breath. "Over." Jain looked at Nina with wide-eyes. She commented on how bad@$$ what she was hearing was. It was a joke. Nina found herself not liking it this time. "Alright... Who's with you?" "Um, right now I'm split from the group. I'm with Alex's parents. Last time I heard Mizuki was split from our group too. Nicholas and Alex are back somewhere we left them. They're with these people we met: Nikita, Ada, and Eri." She said running a hand over her face. "This Eri... Last time I heard she was infected. But, Mr. and Mrs. Marshall have this vaccine that Alex, by now, may have tried on her. Over." "F*ck! You guys actually hung around an infected person! What the hell's wrong with you!" Nina screamed. Jain tried to get the device from her friend and ended up getting her hand smack away. After a slight pause she continued. "Tell Mr. Marshall I said 'hi' and that's all I have to say." "Alrighty. Over and out." Kalila finished. She was sure David and Sarah had heard them, but she went to them anyway.
Nikita met Mizuki's glare with equal fierceness. He said it didn't matter if he was cold or not, mumbling something under his breath having to do with him doubting something, he wanted to carry Eri. He observed the telltale signs of Mizuki's anger and smirked confidently. He wasn't use to people squaring off with him so openly. People normally knew his connection to the mafia and never tried anything. Though there was no one to back him up, except Ada, he still felt no threat. He doubted Ada would help him anyway. She had rolled her eyes at the confrontation before she had gone after Nicholas. Nikita told Mizuki he didn't trust him, rather bluntly. He told Mizuki that even if he was being kind to Alex, He himself didn't trust him when it got down to the down and dirty. He said he doubted his loyalty in protecting Eri if it ever got down to his life at risk for hers. He crossed his arms and looked to Alex for an answer. The boy looked beyond tired; ready to sleep where he falls sort of thing. Nikita looked back to Mizuki with another smirk. However, this one looked more malicious than confident. He pointed at the Asian accusingly. He told him it wasn't like the way he protects everyone else. He said it was not like protecting that chick he was probably f*cking, referring to Kalila, or her brother out of whatever history they had. He told Mizuki he barely knew Eri and it simply was not his place. Though he didn't say it aloud he had another reason. Eri had said when she was infected that Mizuki was infected. How did he know that Mizuki wouldn't take advantage of her in that state and simply... Do something.
After everything, Alex didn't do anything and Mizuki went promptly on ignoring the Russian. Nikita clenched his jaw shut and ran a hand through his long hair. His mind raced on the subject. He quickly changed his mind and went back to wondering what in Hell gave Alex the authority to choose anyway. He looked at Eri's form on Mizuki's back. She looked to be resting easily. A question of different substance came to Nikita's mind. Did the hopeful fact that Eri was cured mean his debt was erased? He had felt it was his fault Eri got bitten in the first place. But, now that she was healed make it all better? He felt he still owed her some type of apology. The only way he could think of was taken away by other people: the scientists have given her vaccine, Alex loved her, and Mizuki was now doing a little thing he could have done to at least help a little. He was not educated enough to have created a vaccine or cure, but he could have found it, given to her, or something. He could not love Eri the way Alex did because she was too young and he saw her as a little sister. He cursed under his breath as he kept at the rear flank of the group. He trusted Ada at the front, he would stay in the back.
Nicholas had heard the argument, an expression of revulsion on his face. He found the subject stupid and immature, like little girls arguing over who got to play the mom when playing house. So f*ckin' retarded. He thought as he paused and looked back at the drama. "Hey Alex, let them battle it out! Hop up here, man. Sling an arm over my shoulder or something!" He yelled back. Yes, his voice had caught some attention. There were very little though, and they were taken out by Ada's accurate, silenced shots. Nicholas got a straggler and looked back at Alex for an answer. However, after the shots, the others had already started moving. Alex was talking to Mizuki and everything seemed in order. So, Nicholas a good 10 yards ahead of them, kept walking, Ada walking silently ahead of him at times and behind him at others. Mizuki won... Good. he thought with a bit of pride. Personally, he would have liked Mizuki's arms empty so he could fight without hindrance. If Nikita was hindered it was fine because Eri was in his little group to start with. Nevertheless, Mizuki had gone up against Nikita and won. It had more sentimental meaning than logical. It was simple in Nicholas' mind really: Mizuki and Nikita + Fight = Nikita pwnd, take it sucker!
Nicholas heard steps coming towards him from behind. His mind was on alert faster than intended, but was quickly silenced when he heard Mizuki's voice. He turned his head over his shoulder, slowing his pace rather than stopping completely. "Hmm?" Nicholas asked lazily. Mizuki spoke and Nicholas furrowed his brow. "Umm... I think there might be a break room or something." He mumbled. I'm sure they have an intercom system in there... I mean, they have one in a couple places in the store." He said pointing to electronics section way in the back section of the store, visible from their row of shelves. His heart hitched as he saw a glass case of video games. Dammit... his inner voice whined. Nikita may have been feeling physical withdrawal from lack of Marijuana, but Nicholas was feeling mental and emotional withdrawal from lack of video games. He snapped his eyes away from the section and back to Mizuki. "I'm not sure though... " He said with a shrug.
They were actually pretty close to the front of the store now. Ada had pulled ahead of Nicholas a couple of times, but now she was in the front of the back for sure. The Indian had slowed down to talk with Mizuki. She was ahead by a good few dozen feet, scanning constantly, when something launched into the air caught her eye. Without meaning to she shot at it, and only after the way it exploded did she realize it was a head. She frowned, looked back at everyone and told them all to hurry up.
