For some reason I kind of saw it as tough love.

Like, maybe Locke's not finished trying to get Charlie off the habit, so he's trying to make Charlie think he's usurped Charlie's position as Claire's right-hand man. He needs Charlie to see that, if he falls back into his drug spiral, he's going to be nothing and someone else will readily step in.

I kind of thought that Locke was trying to get Charlie to fight for the right to be Claire's not-so-husband...but I'm not sure that actually makes sense. sweatdrop

Especially since we know Charlie won't. It seems pointless to us because we've SEEN that Charlie just gives up on things people tell him aren't his. And instead of talking to Charlie or listening to Charlie, Locke just shuts him down. Locke knows nothing about Charlie's past, but he thinks that he knows the way to get Charlie to see that Heroin is Bad is by dropping him entirely and cutting him off from a possible support structure? That's Charlie's WHOLE LIFE rehappening on the Island.

In other news, Liam is a d**k. Well, but I guess that isn't news.

Seriously Tsu your soo right about locke... The writers should look up repvious episodes before they make all the character bipolar and start going against what they did previously, like Locke telling Jack to be leader then telling him not to be out of no where.... What did they just forget that?!

It certainly seems like it. I mean, they should just have notebooks, you know. Where they write down what characters have said to one another ACTUALLY ON THE SHOW. You know, one for Jack and one for Kate. And so on. And write down what the CHARACTER thought they were saying, and what they thought the other character was getting. But instead they write seemingly blindly and characters say one thing and then another.

Hell, I don't know. Maybe it WASN'T Locke in that scene. Maybe it was Lostzilla made manifest.

I know they didn't have the whole storyline plotted out inthe first season, but that's no excuse for changing the characters so much. Sure, people change in time, and I expect the characters to go through some sort of growth on the island. But the changes they're making are too extreme. Locke went from mentoring to judgmental so fast I felt like I must have missed something. I don't see tough love in what he did to Charlie at all. He figured out Charlie was using in the first place, why can't he see that Charlie isn't using now? Why didn't he let Charlie destroy the drugs? And why did he hide the drugs in the safe instead of destroying them? What is he going to do with them?
And what's with Jack? He's a doctor. He should be able to tell whether or not someone is under the influence of drugs, or withdrawing. Why doesn't he say something?
It almost feels like Locke is competing with Charlie for Claire and the baby. He was always my fav, but I don't trust him anymore. I hope I'm wrong!

Alternate plot: Could the baby be somehow influencing the people around him? No one ever explained why Claire had the raise the baby herself. And now the person most willing to help raise the baby has been eliminated from the 'family' situation. She's effectively raising the baby alone again, except for Locke. Is he next to be 'eliminated'?

Hurley going after Libby was so cute but there is something...I don't know...off about her. And why does he think he knows her?

I also think kate was acting a little strange I don't remember Claire being friends with any of the female character well maybe Shannon but not really.

Kate was always more of a friend iwth Sun then Sun being a friend with anyone....

As for Locke, he is acting sooo ******** weird its pissing me off. I mean the only person who is acting atleast a little normal is jack but he didn't have that big of a role in this episide he looks like he does in the next one but they only showed him confronting Locke int he privew and he seemed like he always does, kinda just more mad at Locke and his stupidity.

I hope Jack doesn't get all jacked up or Sun I love them and if they acted all out of character I would go nuts. I mean Jack seems to be the only one who is thinkin logically about things, he was the only person who gave Charlie 2 seconds of his time. Same with Hurly. Who ever wrote the last episode SUCKS a**.

I seem to remember a clothes folding scene where they talk about their signs. Kate is a... Gemini?

I would have loved it if Charlie had totally thrown Locke's words from last episode to Jack in his face. Who are we to tell others what they can and cannot do, indeed. Or at least if he'd said, "Don't tell me what I can't do!" Put that in your pipe and smoke it, you self-aggrandizing b*****d.

...Did Jack confront Locke? I must not have been paying attention.

Hurley BARELY gave Charlie anytime. He just noticed Charlie's wandering off with the baby while sleepwalking. Everyone in this episode was acting bizarre.

I though Kate at least would remember what it was like to be all ostracized by the crowd, from when it happened to her after she drugged Michael/Jin for Sun. But she just turns her back on him. Because SHE'S BETTER THAN HIM. You know, cause it's not like she's a murder...er... Uh, hey, wait, YES SHE IS! God.

Seriously stupid Kate.
Hurly could have tried harder your right about that.
Jack confronts Locke in the preview, atleast thats what it looked like.
And Charlie could have thrown it in Jacks face, but then again Charlie isn't too intelligent, too many days on the drugs I guess.
But wait... isn't Locke the one who said "Don't tell me what I can and cannot do," Not Jack?
So I take back what I said about Charlie throing it in Jack's face. More like Locke's face.
I remember the cloths folding thing but that was about it... I remember the conversation didn't end as well as it should have between to 'friends'
Agreed the show needs more female friends/rivalries not just Sun/Kate Kate/Ana

Maybe he's seen her before during his days in the loony bin?

Opinion: Never really liked Locke from the beginning. Last episode didn't make anything better.

Where the heck is Michael?!

Mm, yeah. That's what I was saying. They were Locke's words, and he said them to Jack. So hence Charlie throwing Locke's words to Jack in his (Locke's) face. I forget sometimes that pronouns can be confusing.

Hm, Kate and Claire's convo ended just fine. From TWoP:

Dan Kwa
Claire approaches Kate, who's sorting through clothing, and asks if she's found a hairbrush. She says she's looked through twenty suitcases and can't find any. Uh...did you ask the castaway with the perfect zig-zag part? She apparently has taken every hairbrush on the plane. Claire feels woozy and sits down, taking a sip of water and putting on a dead person's adorable floppy hat. She asks Kate if she's a Gemini, and Kate bemusedly says she is. (Which is a lie, by the way. She's a Leo.) "I thought so!" Claire says. "Restless, passionate, on the run from the police, star of Brokedown Palace. Trademark Gemini."

Okay, so a bit paraphrased. But far as I can tell, happy ending... Maybe there's another scene, but this is the one I was speaking of.

What does everyone think about the upcoming baptisms? There hasn't been any religion on the Island that I can remember. Even the service for the dear departed in the crash was just a secular ceremony. So the baptism thread in the last episode seems out of place somehow.
Is something on the island compelling Charlie to get the baby baptised? and is some other force trying to prevent it by turning everyone against him? The problems at the end of the last episode seem to center around the baptism issue somehow.
Assuming the baptism is at the center of things, why is it OK if Eko baptises Aaron and Claire, but not Charlie? Is it because Claire's consent or mutual baptism is necessary? Is Eko even a priest?
