Hey, anybody ever got a drumstick thrown at you and it broke over your head? My best friend Owen has four on our old director's desk that were all broken over his. sweatdrop

So we were all marching on to the field and I tripped over a mat they had down and as I was walking on the field the right head of my bass drum fell off. It was so good!

I swear I am like destined to mess up every concert:
First concert of last year I had been playing marimba and when I struck one of the keys on it I actualy put I dent in it. Not knowing it, I kept playing, later on when I hit it again in the song, it dented more. It seemed like it splintered at this point because one of the next times i played it in forte, I guess I hit it too hard, the mallet actualy got stuck inside the whole I'd created. gonk
Then the seccond concert, playing crash symbols, I hit the last crash, completely ending the song in silence, and it popped. Needless to say, It wasn't so quiet as planned.
And in our spring concert, I was rolling the small timpani onto the stage and my friend ran into me with her drumsticks attempting to "skewer" me. she missed and hit the timpani, drumsticks in the head, then when she fell off, she completely tore through the head, which I later fell inside. That was hillarious but painful. And my band teacher was NOT happy.
Then first concert of this year, I shattered the outside finish on the claves! sweatdrop

I deffinently have one of the best ones. During a drum battle with another school we had all the section leaders for each section in the drumline(3 for each making a total of 12...we're kinda small...but the best in our region and 3rd in stade). We had prepared a special candence that involed a lot of rim clicking with the bass drum section leader #1(me). I had to do a double rim click(for all the morons out there, a rim click with both hands at the same time) ten times in a row to finish it off with a bang. When I hit the tenth time not only did I hit so hard that it broke both sticks but I also broke clear through both of the rims, which in turn tore the drum heads apart upon separation. Thankfully it was the end of the song but it was one of the funnyest things that has ever happened to me. I say if you can't say you broke both of your sticks and at least one rim and head at the same time, you don't desrve to be a percussionist. Also, you should add if you have lodged a drumstick into a wall from getting angry at the stupid music you can't figure out as a freshman. lol...I did that one, too. We left it in the wall. xD Oh and I counted 14 in total...

Someone stuck a stick inside our best drum's drum head. The teacher was an asshead, so it was probably one of the kids in our section giving him a hard time. He was infuriated, though...we had something to laugh about for a while.

Come to think of it, one of the main reasons band was fun was pissing our teacher off. Two of the girls in my section in beginning band went to the principle at the end of the year and tried to get him fired by saying he molested them or something. They were crying and everything. My whole section waited outside the office to find out whether or not anything was going to happen.

One of the things our percussion has done this year is they keep making faces out of our guiro.
First they had it smoking a clave, then they put it on top of the cheese grater (don't ask...) and gave it a cymbal felt for hair. XD

You know, I'm pretty sure at least all of those have been done at least once by various members of our drumline. I've done well over half myself. But, I must say, the most embarassing was the time I rolled my ankle on a ramp, and fell off on top of my bass drum. In front of the entire band (170+ people). Then I stood up and took a bow.
