L is my favorite. I used to like Light. But the movie potrayed Light and L, So L is number 1, Light is number 2

Light and L, they're both awesome!!!
some of the other characters are cool too, but none can compare to them.

My favorite is Near, he's cute with his lil' finger puppets...
(Side note: When I went to see the Death Note movie, my blonde friend Samuel cosplayed as Mellow and Near's love child: Yellow. )

I've only started watching the series, but L has been my favorite just because of his looks. xp
I love his eyes. And his clothing. And his hair. @_@ heart
(And yes, if you all are wondering. I am a guy in real life. xp I'm not gay though.)
