"Please, please don't fail on me," Fiye asked quietly as she looked at her own self in the mirror. She continued to focus on her own body, and the appearance she wanted to form into, but it was just not working. It was strange, and she was getting desperate for ideas. After all, she had clung upon her new ability rather well. It wasn't too long before she felt the same feeling throughout her own body, although in the meanwhile, seeing an imagine a horrid creature. Something was wrong with her own body, but she dared to not ask. Even as parts of her body were transforming, as if her body was made out of a complexion of shifting scales.

"I'm comming out now!" Fiye reponding as she looked at her own self in the mirror, "It's all a lie," Fiye whispered to herself as she began to dear, "I'm not going to transform into some kind of monster. I'll just stay like this, for the rest of my life. I can manage this, right?". She could only give a sigh as she hit her head upon the sink that held the mirror up, "I can do this. I can't keep up with this lie." Fiye reponded to herself as she continued to look into the mirror as she turned away and exited her room. Unlocking the door before doing so and quietly shutting it. All she could do was to walk towards her home cooked meal and eat it quietly. It wasn't like her at all.

Everything about her appearance had changed. er skin tone was rather paler, and had a rather gothic tone to it. Even her clothes could be seen to be a bit different. Her mood was rather sad, and she acted as ifshe were bringing in a cloud of raining despair upon her own head. She was in a rather mixed, and depressed mood, and the only thing she could do is quietly sob to herself as she picked up the fork, and began slowly eating at the food in front of her. Still not bothering to make a single noise. They would perhaps ask her until she gave them an answer, but she was not goig to give an answer. She would rather just stay there, at the seat, slowly eating until she was finished and had walkedback to her room, to return to sleeping her own misery and guilt away. She was hoping it would work.

Iris had just dropped into one of the seats and was staring uninterestedly at the very food she'd cooked the noise of a door unlocking met her ears. She could do little but blink rapidly when Fiye finally walked out of the room and sat down, chewing the stir fry monotonously. The four-armed girl could only stare in shock, her second set of arms twitching slightly. She could feel the hair standing on end on them.

Before she could stop herself the words came spilling out. "What the ******** happened to you?! Holy crap! You just like... what the hell!" This was followed by a string of curse peppered nonsense noises. "You're...like...What did you do?!"

True, Iris was not fond of theives, but first of all this girl was the one paying for the apartment that she would be sleeping in tonight, meaning that if she randomly dropped dead, which appeared to be a reasonably possibility, then that wouldn't be very useful or particularly good at all. Secondly, Iris had been on a job with some rich family on the other side of town when their son had walked out of a room looking paler and more pitiful than usual, freakishly similar to how Fiye looked now.

"Lemme see your wrists, little lady. Oh, I swear, if I've got another suicidal nutcase on my hands..." Iris continued babbling pointlessly while she tapped her foot and waited for Fiye to reveal her wrists. With any luck it would be a sudden onset flu or something, and the criss-crossing scars that had lined the boy's wrists would not exist, nor would there be a fressh line to explain the sudden, drastic paleness.

Shrian blinked and looked up, watching as Fiye walked slowly to the table. He'd seen her appearance as different before, but they were only small changes and alters to her facial appearance. At this point, however, most things about her had changed, including her pale skin tone. In his opinion, it was a lovely pale shade, but he was more concerned as to why she was acting as she was. She'd never changed so much before, let alone in front of other people whom she knew to be Transcendants.

Looking her over carefully, Shrian's lips twitched slightly downwards. 'Something's wrong...Fiye's never this quiet, or this sad.' Deciding not to mention it at the moment, he sat down opposite her, eating his own meal in silence, occasionally casting a glance upwards at her. Finishing soon after, he picked up his plate and stood up, placing it in the sink before glancing at the clock on the oven. "It's almost nine. You all can just make yourselves at home." he said calmly, looking first to Iris, then to Nitebyss.

Turning to Fiye, he smiled and inquired lightly. "Hey Fiye, want to go for a walk?" He knew it may sound strange to Fiye, and probably to his guests as well. Nevertheless, he kept his gaze on his roommate, wondering what her reaction would be to his odd question.

"A walk would be good, I suppose," Fiye remarked as she looked up at Shrian, before pushing the plate away and burping. She gave a sigh as she pushed in the chair and turned to the man in front of her, "I'd like a chance to talk to you alone about some personal issues," Fiye added, remembering the monster she had seen. It was such a disgusting creature, could it be her? Or was it something else.

'Might as well tell him. She can figure it out later' Fiye responded to herself as she slowly moved to the door and opened it before stepping outside. She gave a sigh as she moved for the elevator. Riding it all the way down and moving outside. She liked the cold of the night. It was refreshing to her skin. Maybe she could drop the appearance for once. Maybe she would be turning into that horrible monster if she kept on abusing her powers.

She liked just about everything abou tthe moon. The eletrical lights that humanity put on, the moon that was thousands upon thousands of miles away from the earth, and the darkened sky. It was something she enjoyed, and with the small body of hers, it didn't take much to warm herself up if it was ever needed.

Slightly suprised that Fiye had even accepted his proposal, Shrian looked to Iris first as his roommate walked out. "It's alright, she's not suicidal. Like she said, just a few personal issues." He smiled slightly, moving to the door. "If you'd like to sleep, you may have the guest room here," he motioned to the door to the right of the front door, "for as long as you'd like. As I said, make yourself at home. You too, Nitebyss." he added with a last smile, slipping through the front door to close it quietly.

Walking to the elevator, he pressed the down arrow, a few thoughts running through his head as he waited for the elevator to rise. 'Fiye sounded pretty serious, and it's really rare for her to act so serious.' He smirked though, randomly remembering her burp upon leaving the table. 'Okay, so maybe that's sort of normal.'

Shrian stepped into the elevator as it came up, pressing the button labeled '1' and riding down to the first floor. He came out, waving to the doorman as he pushed open the front doors to the apartment complex, slipping out into the night. It was slightly cold, though a more pleasant cold than anything. The moon sat in the sky above the park now, shining down with its' reflected sun rays. The street lights around the city dimmed the stars, making it hard for him to see them too clearly.

Spying Fiye as she walked slowly down the sidewalk, he caught up to her easily, falling in step beside her. For a while, all he did was look down at his own feet, heavy combat boots making barely a noise on the sidewalk. After a bit, though, his lips parted for an inquiry. "So what is it, Fiye? You've never done that before, at least not around me." He looked over at her, the body of the small girl not fooling him for a moment.

Oh well, it's fine. Bedtime for the Iris being! *snicker* I'mma have fun with that.}}

Iris nodded mutely as the pale Fiye and completely unsurprised Shrian pushed past her as if she didn't exist, Shrian mentioning something about Fiye being fine and going to bed before walking right out the door.

"Alrighty then," she huffed, wrapping her arms around her chest, her second set flitting in annoyance, "See if I ever bother helping you again." She stuck her tongue out the air and marched stiffy towards the bedroom Shrian had shown her earlier. She noticed mildly that her new arms seemed haevier, but chalked it up to exhaustion. She didn't even see the few downy white, and one sleek black, feathers that had landed silently on the ground before she had stalked off.

She yelled a hasty goodnight to the still loitering unsettlingly Nitebyss, trying to supress the shudders that such an odd and mildly violent sounding name dredged up, before slamming the door shut and beginning to tediously remove her clothes.

Have you ever tried getting a shirt made for a two-armed person off of a four-armed person without snapping any bones? It's hard. Things will inevitably be ripped. In the end she just glared at the two spaghetti straps of her running camisole and shoved one in her mouth. The damned fabric was refusing to rip by her hands, so she would try biting through it before looking like an idiot and getting scissors.

To her vast amazement, when she snapped her jaws down on it the fabric broke. Twice. Leaving her with two unattached strings on her shoulder and a mouth full of cotton-polyester blend. She limply shrugged the top off, and the fabric pooled around her waist. There was also a coppery taste that fabric shouldn't have had on her tongue, and Iris recognised it immediately.

Blood, she thought slowly, trying to wrap her mind around the fact that she'd just bit open the sides of her own mouth. What...the...hell? But...that wsn't even...I mean... Her tongue ran over the freshly made cuts, and lo and behold, it stung like hell and they were real. Then her tongue slid over her eyeteeh on the way back to the center of her mouth and she nearly screamed. As if new arms weren't enough, there were now little pointy things there instead of her usual teeth.

Okay... I'm just going to..uhh... With a vague sense of dizziness, she flopped bonelessly onto her mattress. At least they aren't huge... she thought wearily, noting that the new teeth were barely any bigger than her old ones. In fact, they were technically smaller due to their rounded thinness, but the points stuck further out by just enough length to be disconcerting.

In one unthinking motion she pulled her shirt and track pants down to join her long abandoned windbreaker on the floor and slid under the large comforter on the bed, only to be met with a stinging pain. She roughly shoved the comforter down to her hips and rolled uncomfortably onto her stomach, her new arms twitching unconsciously.

With a distinct refusal to acknowledge the existance of her now pointier teeth, she drifted into sleep, more from exhaustion than relaxation. The various times she woke up in the middle of the night to find she rolled onto her back and was crushing her arms, she was still so groggy that she didn't register the feathers littering the mattress beside her. That would be a discovery for the waking hours.

"Shrian," Fiye started as she turned her head towards the ground, tears dripping from her eyes, "When I tried to change back, I wasn't able to for a moment, and when I did, I saw a flash of some kind of nasty creature. A femine one at that as well," Fiye added as she turned around and buried her own head into Shrian's clothes, letting her tears soak his clothes, "Should I take this as a warning or what? I don't want to become that horrible creature not in my entire life. I'd just kill myself if I had to live my entire life as that kind of monster." Fiye remarked the appearance of a monster filled her mind. If anything, she'd rather not describe it to Shrian. It scared her own mind whenever she though of such a monster. After all, no one would like describing the horror she had seen.

"Look, I'm sorry about that," Fiye said as she pulled her face away, "But, should I stop wearing this mask now? I mean, so far it's done nothing but make me look lick a little child with nowhere to go," Fiye added, looking at Shrian. She was getting ready to take off her own mask. If anything, it would only help her out in life.

Shrian's eyes traveled back to the ground as Fiye started speaking. When she buried her face in his clothes, though, his eyes widened and he stopped in his tracks. "F-Fye?" he stuttered slightly. It was the first time she'd ever done anything close to this, but as he listened, his eyes softened as he understood where she was coming from. He'd seen shape-shifters of different skill levels, so he could confidently tell her what he knew. "Fiye, you're not becoming a monster." His voice was soft and soothing, a small assuring smile blossoming on his lips. "Transcendant abilities seem to evolve on their own as time goes by, so maybe you're just temporarily losing control as it goes to the next stages. Besides..." As he spoke, he reached out to his friend, laying a hand gently on her shoulder. "You're Fiye, and you always will be. Your appearance won't change that."

When she spoke about taking her mask of, though, he blinked. 'So many firsts tonight...' he mused silently to himself, shaking his head slightly. "If you're comfortable doing that, Fiye, I'd say go for it. You can wear your mask all your life, but it's not really who you are, is it?" His smile changed to a warm, friendly smile. He could understand her fear of change, as he'd seen it in many of his former acquaintances.

"Yes, I am," Fiye said with a smile as she looked to the closest wall. Immediantley, her smal hands grabbed Shrian's shirt and pulled him towards the wall. Blocking her from most of the other people surronding her. Immediantley, she smiled, her own form quickly dissappearing as scale like images disappeared. Showing a rather grown girl who was wearing a t-shirt to small for her.

"Don't mind my hair though. It was the first thing I got when I was able to do this," Fiye said, grabbing it's end to show a good foot of brown hair. Although, she wasn't too sure about what she should do now. She'd let Shrian get in his word though, and for how much it took for her to take off her own form, after two years of hiding, maybe he was the one. Maybe she was falling for him. 'No, I couldn't be. He's nice and all, just not my kind of guy.' Fiye reassured herself as she placed her arm's around the boy's body smiling as she did so. She was thankful for him at the very least. After all, if she hadn't have come across him, she wouldn't have had a place to stay, she wouldn't have been able to help the others as they had done before, and she would still be acting like a young child.

"I'd rather be myself for once," Fiye started, "If anything, to be able to reach that top shelf without having to climb up there, or have you do it," Fiye remarked with a smile, her frame only at five feet, five and a quarter inches. She smiled as she pulled away, still a bit shy at her new appearance. "So, what do you think about it? Just, don't comment on the dress. It's a it old."

Blinking once again as he was pulled to the wall by Fiye, Shrian's head buzzed with thoughts as the scales started to shift on her face. 'Well I've seen this before, so I know it's not abnormal...But why now?' he thought distractedly, watching curiously as the scales stopped shifting, studying his friends' face. He blinked once again, looking down at a lovely young woman, quite different from the small girl that'd just stood there. The shirt seemed slightly too small for her now, but she didn't seem to mind.

Blinking once again as Fiye embraced him in a small hug, he smiled slightly, hugging her gently back. As she backed away back to the wall, the smile stayed as he surveyed her as if for the first time. 'I guess people need to change now and again...' he thought with a bemused smile. "What do I think? I think you've been hiding your beauty for too long, Fiye." he said with a small laugh. "I'm glad you finally did, though. Makes me feel like I have someone I can trust finally." He smiled sheepishly as he spoke, running his fingers through his long dark hair.

"Why would you feel as if you can trust me, just now especially," Fiye said, slightly shocked and amazed as she smiled at Shrian. Someone had called her beautiful, but yet she never thought the same of herself. She wasn't beautiful, she was ugly, very ugly. Especially that damned pink hair of hers. Fiye could only smiled as Shrian hugged her back. Could it be that the time spent there had caused him to grow attached to her. It couldn't be possible, could it?

Althoguh, Fiye couldn't help but blush, "Do you really like me that much? Said said, still continuing the smile. She was like a teenager, running into the boy of her dreams, or at least, that would have been a good analogy for what was happening to her. She could only help but blush, but at least she was back to her own normal self. Not the nine year old form of hers. Perhaps it could be useful later on, but not now, and perhaps only when her face was known and she needed a second indentity to go by.

"Perhaps we should go back to Iris then," Fiye asked as she lookd at Shrian with a smile, "Maybe she and Nitebyss would be suprised by this, or maybe we should spend some more needed time together.

Shrian smiled warmly at his friend as he spoke. "Well, I'm just going to guess that you haven't shown your true self to anyone in a long, long time. I just take it as a symbol of trust. I could be wrong, though." he said with a small shrug. He blinked as she mentioned liking her, though, smirking slightly. "You told me to comment, didn't you? You're gorgeous, there's no reason to hide it."

Looking to his left back to the apartment, Shrian bit his lower lip in thought. "Well, it's only about nine thirty...How about a walk in the park?" he asked, turning back to Fiye with a smile. As far as feeling went, he didn't really know what he felt for his roommate. She'd been such an enigma over the past month, so he didn't know too much about her. Yet she was the first person to actually stay as more of a permanent resident, being someone he could consider a friend. He looked forward to getting to know her a bit more.

"Yeah, a walk sounds good then" Fiye happily spoke as she put a hand onto Shrian's head and laughed. She liked being her own natural height of 5'5 and a quarter for once. Even though her own height had an advantages, she still missed the innocent look of the nine year old form.

"Hey, all the money I ever gave you is mine, after all. If I steal it, I'm just taking back what's mine," Fiye remarked with a smile as her hand went from his head towards a motion of slapping his back. She couldn't help but smirk from her comment as she walked faster for a few seconds, before turning around and walking backwards.

"Still, you think I'd befriend someone I didn't trust at first? I didn't want to be turned on by you, if you decided to turn on me after all," Fiye remarked as she looked up at the night's sky before turning around again, "Although, I must pose a question. Do you like me?"

Shrian laughed lightly, eyes sparkling slightly in the moonlight. "You wouldn't have to steal it. If you wanted it, all you'd have to do was ask for it back." he said calmly, slipping the wad of bills from his pocket and waving it in front of him playfully. When she asked if he liked her, though, his hand stuttered for a moment before continuing it's waving path. "You'd have to give more elaboration on that question, I think..." he remarked with a smirk.

As they entered the park, he thought for a moment, considering what she was asking. "How could I not like you? Even if you are a bit rude and childish at times," As he spoke, he made another face, sticking his tongue out at Fiye. "we've lived in the same apartment for over a month now. I enjoy your company." Shrian said simply, eyes turning from his friend to the trees, which had covered the moon and faint stars. The moon flashed between the leaves every so often as the wind blew gently at the branches. He glanced over at the shining lake, the surface smooth and glassy as the reflection of the crescent above glimmered on it's mirror-like cover.

"You know what though. No matter what you can say, you must like the scenery," Fiye remarked for a moment, her mind being sidetracked every moment that it possibly could, "Although, the like I was meaning was, are you attracted to me?"

Fiye couldn't help but smiling. Knowing that the words she had spoken to him would taunt him a bit. Perhaps scare him. To herself, she had grown fond of Shrian, knowing that if he could stand her own habits, they could live a happily ever after if possible. Although, she wasn't looking forward to it, even if she did have some fantasies about it sometimes.

"But still," Fiye added in, "Even if you don't like me that way, I don't care. We'll still be good roommates." She gave a smile as she walked over to the lake. Scales quickly went over her shoes. Quickly turning her shoes into her own normal feet. It was a useful ability, since she was able to transform her own clothes, whic had managed to become a natural part of her own body. It was a rather useful skill she obtained, and if Shrian's words were correct, she'd become more proficent with it.
