In the heart of the East Wing a vivacious young lady is dancing non stop. The clanless vampire is wearing a black lace corset with a short skirt. An elaborate matching lace mask adorns her white face, with an interesting choker around her neck. Spinning and twirling on the dance floor in six inch leather heels Khroma laughs wildly.

As she dances her undead heart out her multi colored eyes take in all of dancers. Outfits, muscles, eyes, smiles… any jewelry and weaknesses. She is checking them out and looking for future marks. The con artist in her is taking note of anything valuable. Not that she’s do anything here to anyone.

Though Finvarra was Disciple to a nearly extinct clan, he was Disciple nonetheless... even if the title was still so fresh it still had that new car smell. His fae eyes scanned the crowd as he arrived at the Toreador New Year's bash, a tall and elegant figure among many no less tall and elegant. Still, he had a presence of his own as he walked through the doors, his form glittering softly as he moved beneath the lights.

One of those rare faery blooded creatures to survive the embrace and become a vampire, Fin was used to being an oddity. In times of old, Maeghar had not embraced childer. Rather, each new Maeghar was accepted into the clan via adoption of a sort. Fae blooded vampires were, perforce, Maeghar, with the exception of the Kiasyd. But now... Fin had plans. Oh, he certainly had plans.

Speaking of Kiasyd... Finvarra's watchful eyes swept about the room, checking for any sign of Marconius. Though he supposed he'd probably be able to sense him, if it came down to it. One could certainly hope so. Though there was a tenuous truce between them, he did not trust his fellow Disciple as far as he could throw him. There was every chance of being betrayed, after Marconius had nearly wiped out his clan.

Speak of the devil and he shall appear, or something similar, Marconius was not the devil persay but Finvarra might say otherwise. The disciple had heard of the gathering clan Toreador was holding, he heard a lot of things these nights, but rather than ignore the gathering as he might have otherwise done the ancient founder of the Kiasyd had left his haven and here he was...amongst so many other vampires.

"Finvarra." His voice a deep, calming, greeting as he came up from behind. Tall, slender, and well dressed the fae blooded vampire nodded his head in greeting to the other. Things were less than stable between the two fae blooded vampires, to sa ythe least, but he would extend a polite greeting here with so many around them. It simply would not do for him to be anything but polite, it would simply be unseemly, and Marconius was nothing if not a gentleman even if he did make a mess on occasion with his meals.

Dark as night eyes glanced about the room, though their movement was impossible to notice, the disciple was looking over those gathered here tonight. Many of power, of age, were gathered here and the lack of blood shed was something of a surprise though it was a good thing as well. It would, no doubt, cause an issue with Grendal if vampires decided to start a fight here at such a gathering. Everyone would behave; within reason.

It had been some time since Fauna had last awoken from Torpor, and perhaps longer still since she voluntarily went into the city for a party. The woman couldn’t help but feel overwhelmed by the sheer amount of individuals present, and so many powerful vampires in one place was a shock to her system. But she went where Narcise called her, and followed without complaint.

This was just a night, and she would make the best of it. It might not be the comfort of the woods; it might be lacking the chorus of the night song, the kiss of moonlight; the soft rustle of animals, or the night wind through the branches of trees; but it was where Narcise was, and therefor, it was where Fauna would be.

Narcise, whom she had fallen into Torpor for; Narcise, whom had turned her all those years ago; Narcise, whom had woken her from her slumber, encouraging her to walk with her once more. Since her rising, Fauna had done what she could to catch up with the state of the Lhiannon as well as the world. So much had changed, and yet, the vampire clans remained the same. Caine was no longer at the head, but instead, his son — Grendel. While she did not know of him, she would not hesitate to devote herself to his court.

Dressed in a fabulous gown of forest green and complimentary brown, she wore the mask of a long-eared rabbit. She was elegantly dressed with a simple disguise, but she had doubted anyone within the party would seek her out. Antediluvian she might be, she spent most of her life deep in the great woods, aloof, alone, hunting down werewolves, protecting the land. She was just one among many.

”It’s quite a place, isn’t it?” Fauna finally spoke softly, still holding onto Narcise’s arm. She would be ready to go as soon as the woman gave word — but she would not push a moment sooner. Just being close to Narcise would be enough to get her through.

To say that Finvarra did not appreciate Marconius's presence was something of an understatement. In fact, Marconius was the very last kindred that Fin might ever wish to see. He was near singlehandedly responsible for the genocide Kiasyd had enacted against their own clan. Simply not being of Marconius's bloodline was not reason enough, to Finvarra's mind, for the wholescale slaughter that the seemingly genteel vampire had put his people through. Bristling almost undetectably, Finvarra turned to face his nemesis.

Someone he'd once called brother, though they were no more brothers than any other clan mate might be. "Hello, Marconius," Finvarra said smoothly, tossing his long raven hair over his shoulder in what someone who knew him well might know to be a nervous tick. "I'm surprised to see you here," he said, smiling with too much teeth showing. "Away from all of your books."

"Yes, that is a surprise from me isn't it." No more a question than saying the sky was blue, it was a statement, as he kept the lightest of smiles in place upon his all too pale face. "But I did manage to pull myself from my research in order to join our brothers and sisters tonight in celebration." Although what celebrating a Kiasyd could ever manage was up for anyone to guess at, they simply were not the sort to party and behave in a loud manner.

"I am also surprised to see you here this evening." He still was surprised the other was alive, a dissapointment really, but Marconius would refraine from saying anything about that matter. It wouldn't do for anyone to hear him speaking so ill of a fellow vampire. "You've been well I hope?" He questioned, continuing on with the niceities, as he walked along side the other. The dark eyed male had taken notice of a vampire here or there drinking from cups, how pleasing to see, and he wouldn't mind locating the drinks himself. This however was entertaining, so he remained at Finvarra's side for now.

"Come my dear," Narcise said, letting Fauna tuck her hand in the crook of her arm, and thus guiding her through the crowd. The waves seemed to part, and Narcise looked around, her ancient eyes searching for someone in particular. And there he stood, unmistakable among the crowd of vampires. The God of Vampires, with ties to so many kindred there. To herself, even. She kept the basket carefully settled on her other arm, walking toward Grendel so that she could drop off a gift for him - and for his family, of course.

"Grendel," she said softly, extending her offering of fresh baked blood cookies to the god. "I thought perhaps you might enjoy them." She did not bother pretending she did not know him. It would be silly to play such games, when they both knew very well she could have found him if blindfolded. "For you, and for your family, of course."

She had dragged poor Fauna along for the ride, but she suspected that her Antediluvian wouldn't mind overly much. Even in such august company. A flicker of amusement shone in her eyes for a moment, as she took in the sight of Grendel and Ravnos. She was happy for them, truly. They were still going strong, the archetypical power couple within vampire society.

Finvarra didn't frown, but his smile was cold. Not warm and welcoming as it might have been for someone who was, well, welcome. "How very fortunate," Fin said, although he clearly did not mean it. His face was a mask of politeness, even behind the mask he wore. The mask was a little telling, of course... a pair of faerie wings that resembled his own parents', artfully arranged around his handsome face in a way that concealed his identity.

From all but Marconius, it seemed. But he would know him anywhere. "Are you?" he said, watching the other with a suspicious gaze. "I would think that you were more surprised to see me alive at all." The barb was notable, and quite out of character for the generally affable Fin, but when the other was Marconius, it was to be expected. "I've been well enough, all things considered." When one considered that he would need to essentially rebuild his Clan from the ground up.

Adoette of the Grove was not happy to be here. Notably because she was ‘of the grove’ and this was not her grove at all. In fact, this place was very far from it. The world away from the forests was hollow and unsettling, too loud, too full of unpleasant smells, the wooden floors death beneath her feet. Adoette was not a fan. But she was a Lhiannon and would not hesitate to tread a different path should the need arise.

Especially since Nyoka had been so excited to attend, she couldn’t miss it.

Despite her misgivings, she fit in well with a long dark dress and her face covered with a mask made of leaves. She flowed across the floor, sparing no-one else a glance except her mate, her red-haired angel. Easily recognizable to her. And even if it had been harder to tell, you couldn’t put a mask on the snake. Kaiser was Kaiser.

“Darling,” she purred, approaching. She dipped her head respectfully towards Ionia as well. “Forgive my tardiness. Are you both having fun?”

"Yes, indeed. Whatever would you do if I were not here." As if Finvarra needed him here for some reason, or the other might sit in a corner and do nothing were Marconius not here to keep the other company. Oh, he knew how much the other disliked him, he could all but feel it in the air and taste it, but he was not about to let that bother him. Rather he somewhat enjoyed the fact the other could do nothing to him, here or anywhere else, this might be the highlight of his year in fact.

"Ah that, well yes I am however I did not think you'd go off to sleep." As that very well might end poorly for the other. A long nap, torpor, turned into final death as it were. So no, the other wouldn't have gone off to sleep. "And I don't see any doing you any harm, or worse." Any aside from himself, of course, Marconius didn't see any of his own childer capable of finishing off Finvarra and he would certainly know if he'd done the deed - and he hadn't. Such a sad and sorry state of things really.

"That is good to hear, that you are doing well." Not good at all but who was he to say such a thing aloud? The other knew what he didn't say, they both did, so it needn't be spoken aloud. "I do see a few of our kin with drinks...perhaps something we should look into locating." Because of course two vampires, who clearly disliked each other, should break bread together as it were. They should sip together from drink cups and speak as if they were old friends - how amusing this night was turning out to be. So entertaining indeed.

"I imagine, if you weren't here, I would enjoy my night," Finvarra said, though the smile remained firmly plastered on his lips. He might have even considered finding a handsome dance partner, or some company for the party. Marconius might be handsome to some vampires' eyes, but Finvarra could only see the murderer for what he was. Nothing more, nothing less. There had never even been a hint of romance between the two of them, even when they had been on better terms. Before Marconius had apparently lost his mind and decided to wipe out most of his own clan.

It was true. He wasn't such a fool that he'd drop his guard. Not with Marconius and his clan out there waiting for him. He did not particularly care to find out what might happen if he went into torpor. Fin knew that Marconius truly would have enjoyed sending the oldest living Maeghar into the sweet arms of eternal death. The twisted Disciple would have no qualms about doing it now... except that Grendel had distinctly said that bloodshed between clans was no longer permitted. Or at least, war between the clans.

"Sharing drinks with you would be a novel experience." Rather, sharing them and surviving it. "Alas, I must decline. I'm still rather attached to life." Or unlife, as it were. He was more than capable of weathering whatever the Kiasyd had planned for him. He'd certainly done so for quite a long time now. "Please don't abstain for my benefit, however." So long as the drinks involved were drinks and not, well, him.

((Tossing Artis Dunsirn in just because. She has no one waiting on rp from her, nor is she currently engaged in rp with anyone. If someone feels like engaging with her, feel free. I can't guarantee a quick response though.))

Artis Dunsirn steps out of the carriage she had hired to bring her to this event. She wasn't able to pry much info about it out of her twin, Bac, other than it had been -interesting- watching the others the previous year. She wore a mask that was a skull with demon horns, in a blood red that faded to gold at the tips of the horns. Her suit matched her mask fairly closely in coloration, other than her trousers were a deep black. She was accompanied by her blood speckled raven, Nevermore, perched on her shoulder. Rather than her hair being in its usual braid, it was loose, cascading in waves around her shoulders and down her back. Her mis-matched green and yellow eyes gaze slowly around the entry hall as she enters, taking in each and every fae in her immediate area. She had a decision to make, apparently, as to where she would wander. The VIP area was off limits, that much was certain. The garden too, but for different reasons. She didn't want to stumble upon any couples snogging in the foliage. She flicks her tail a couple of times before deciding that for now, she would wander wherever the various guards allowed her curiosity to take her.

Espen had finally found his way to one of the more decent bars that wasn’t this exclusive VIP area. While he did have one of their tokens stowed away on his person the thought of being there, with all the snooty upper crust types didn’t appeal one bit to the Noiad Disciple. Give him a mead hall and roaring fires. Not this electric, smooth jazz, high city aristocracy , blue blood bullshit. He was a man of the salt and the earth.

As he exited the bar room he had finally wound up in, the massive male nearly ran over the smaller female vampire. The items dangling for his large rack of antlers clattering as he had to pull up short or very nearly end up bulldozing her over with his quick step. Though large in size he was still very agile and was able to pivot at the last second to avoid any impact.

Ice blue eyes studied her from behind his white wolf mask. The suit, squinting faintly at the raven and even though her mask clearly had horns he could still see the smaller set of antlers that she herself bore. A quick sniff told him she wasn’t one of his. No, he would be able to recognize his own immediately. They smelt like ice, snow, mountains and wilderness. This one had the scent of the city on her like all the others here. Though….he could see similarities to his own clan in some of her attributes.

Tilting his head slightly, he crossed his arms over his broad chest. Lips drawing into a firm line before he spoke. “Where do you hail from, little horns?” His voice was deep, a rumble of a growl thick in his throat. Laced with a mild accent that rolled smooth off his tongue.

To be fair, Artis hadn't completely been watching where she was going when she ran, almost quite literally, into the larger antlered male. A shrill cry of warning from Nevermore was the only warning she'd had before making her own sudden stop, before she soon quickly reached up to soothe her feathered companion. The clattering of items upon antler caught her attention once again as she looked forward and up. And up some more, until she was soon peering at the masked face and ice blue eyes. An eyebrow tilts slightly behind her mask as the larger male crosses his arms over his chest, then looks at her with lips drawn into a firm line and speaks to her. "Apologies for almost running into you, sir. I hail from the Highlands, sir. And yerself?" She kept her tone polite and neutral, not wishing to offend the other, although she had a thick accent that might make it hard to understand everything she was saying.

Nyoka was very hard to miss. The flaming red hair was the least of it; his big scaled wings took up an obnoxious amount of space. Not to mention the fact that they were odd for a vampire to have at all. “Awww, don’t be like that!” Nyoka nudged Ionia playfully. “Fine, fine. My bad, sis. But you’re too easy to spook. You should get thicker skin. Or scales. Right, Kai?” He asked Kaiser, who hissed agreeably before shooting a glare at Sir Hiss.

Nyoka’s attention was quickly redirected towards the love of his life, the apple of his eye, the sun to his shine, his universe, his— okay, you get the picture. Adoette. He turned, wings flapping happily behind him (and causing some nearby Kindred to let out grunts of annoyance). “My belladonna!” He exclaimed. He extended his hand to take hers. Kaiser immediately took the opportunity to twist around Nyoka’s arm and slither onto Adoette instead. They were both simps for her. Could you blame them?

“Ionia! Have you met Adoette?” He asked his sister, gazing adoringly at his mate.
