Linsey Grey-Cavendish Ravenclaw Alumnus │ Twenty-One Years Old │ Fashion Designer, Musician and Artist │ Single
For a moment, Linsey thought the older woman might physically strike her for standing with her son, as she sensed the rage building behind her façade. If it came to it, Linsey learned enough from Serghei and Radovan to escape an altercation unharmed, and she wasn’t about to back down if pushed. When the older woman suggested that Beito answered her incorrectly, Linsey replied philosophically, “ Au contraire, Madame, Beito a simplement choisi de suivre son propre chemin ; c'est à vous de décider si vous souhaitez l'accompagner.” It was an answer she was certain her godmother would agree with.
When the older woman chose to take her verbal shot at Milan, Linsey wasn’t shy about stating where she stood on the matter. “ Je dois me permettre d'être en désaccord, Madame Escoffier. Je connais Milan et la famille Wellbelove depuis de nombreuses années, et bien que Milan ait hérité d'une partie de son talent de sa mère, il a démontré qu'il ne vit pas et ne crée pas dans son ombre.” Linsey was pleased to see Milan take his own stand and tell the well-known model to leave, with or without legal assistance. Just as she was getting concerned about how much trouble she could cause them personally and professionally, she saw Tiphanie strike her son, leaving behind claw marks and streaks of blood.
Linsey repressed a chuckle when she saw Geneieve offer her own, less than polite rebuke, and a parting shot, but when her compatriot started freaking out a little bit at the sight of blood, she said gently, “It’s all right, I’ll get it.” Reaching out a hand to Beito’s face, she could feel the residual heat the blow left behind. With a softly spoken incantation, and as a soft amber glow swirled about them, she traced the lines of the claw marks with her fingers. Flesh pulled itself shut and closed with nary a mark to show, the streaks of blood seemed to de-rezz, and the heat of the blow struck replaced with the gentle warmth of a spring day, or the touch of a friend.
“There, that’s better,” said Linsey with a sweet smile. You certainly didn’t deserve that, Bee.” She couldn’t understand why this happened and couldn’t imagine her mother acting as Tiphanie had. Looking around at the grouping, she suggested, “Perhaps we should take a break, or unwind elsewhere.”

It had been a wildly busy, yet terribly successful summer. Between their amazing showcase in New York City, the several events they'd designed for, and just the sheer number of top-notch designers they had, Cloak & Coven was booming. So much so that Milan had reached out to the Ministry about their shop. After paying a small fortune, his request was granted. Now it was time to share with everyone. It had been really, really hard not to spill the beans too early, but he'd managed. After telling the staff to stay late on Saturday for dinner and inventory, he ordered a lovely meal to be catered for the event... of sorts.
And finally it was time. Their stressfully busy day was over and they were able to clean up. It didn't take too long with all hands helping out. Milan helped the food delivery inside, setting it along one of the design tables before paying the man. Finally, he summoned his little troupe over. "Thank you guys for staying late. I promise we don't have to actually do inventory, I'm just bad at hiding surprises. Don't worry, tonight is all good news... and good food." He grinned, drawing in a breath before announcing the news.
"As of a few days ago, the Ministry has approved us to expand our shop. We'll be going to almost double the size. And in order to really give everyone their chance to shine, each of the designers will be getting their own office, as well as dedicated floor space. In doing this, we can allow for multiple labels to work here. We'll be changing our name to 'Cloak & Coven Design Collective' when we change our size. This begins about a week into September, after Hogwarts has started, because we'll have to close for a few days. It'll be a lot of hard work to set everyone up, but at least we won't be smushed in two offices anymore.
In doing this, I want to thank you all so much. This place began as a dream between Vera and I, and now we've got an amazing team. None of this could have happened without all of you. Thank you for being there through this whole process, and thank you for helping make our future bright." He grinned, more than happy to share all this success with everyone. They all deserved it, after all. Plus, it was secretly a way to prevent everyone from leaving. If they all co-owned the shop and each designer had their dedicated space, perhaps they'd all be more inclined to stay?

Genevieve knew that Milan had been planning something for a little while now, but she couldn't rightly pin down what it had been. Of course, she had a little more insight into Milan since the two had been secretly dating for the last few months. Throughout the last couple weeks, Genie had been sneaking glances and quick conversation with Bieito, the other one with a glimmer of insight into Milan as well, but he was also in the dark about Milan's surprise. He wasn't, however, in the dark about their relationship, since he'd caught her several times either sneaking into Milan's room or out of it. Thus far though, he'd been mum on it. This particular day had been like all the others, albeit Milan seemed a bit more on edge than he normally was. He had asked them to stay behind for dinner and inventory, which wasn't too out of pocket for him. In fact, that was quite a normal thing for them to do. The shop had been exceptionally busy with summer back to school traffic, especially after the show in New York City. At the end of the day, Genie was ready to head home and catch some beauty sleep. Milan was bringing in the food so Genie took a moment to relax.
Walking over to her boyfriend, the brunette smiled when he thanked them all for staying late, then promised that they wouldn't have to actually do inventory. Genevieve tipped her head to the side slightly, not exactly sure why he'd ask everyone to stay behind then. He quickly continued by saying he wasn't good at hiding surprised, then announced an expansion of the shop. All the designers would have a space to showcase their own styles as well as having their own offices upstairs. Also he wanted to change the name of the business to reflect that it wasn't just his and Vera's own ideas, but those of multiple designers. Genie covered her mouth and little tears came to her eyes. He was so excited for this new development and Genie was happy for him as well. After he finished his speech, Genevieve moved to him and embraced him, placing a soft kiss upon his lips. "Oh, Milan, I'm so proud of you. Zis will be a big development for you! I'm glad to take zis step alongside you." She looked at the others after having kissed Milan in front of everyone, then a little pink colored her cheeks. Genie slipped her hand into his, then said, "I probably should explain zat. Milan and I are dating, and have been for a few months now." Laying her head against him, she grinned happily.

Linsey Grey-Antonov Ravenclaw Alumnus │ Twenty-Two Years Old │ Fashion Designer, Musician and Artist │ Happily Married
The new year was a whirl of activity, starting with her wedding. Adding the name Antonov was a big adjustment, to be sure, but she was comfortable being Linsey Grey Antonov. She was married to a great guy, whom both her family and her church-family grew to love, which greatly eased the transition, and she made a real effort to be friends with her mother-in-law and her sisters-in-law. Already, she invited Evona over for dinner and evenings together. She waited until after Ella was back at school to make the move from her parents’ house to Serghei’s townhouse, knowing the departure was to be tearful enough, but saying goodbye to Ella would have devastated her to the point of unfunctionality.
Mother Grey gifted them a plot of land outside Waterford as their wedding gift, with room enough to construct a house and grounds when opportunity and funds permitted. Linsey already had drawings of an art studio and a nursery she created, as there was no way she and Serghei wouldn’t have a proper space to create, and she promised him any place they had a child, or children, would be one filled with ‘light and life, music and love.’ A place where Serghei’s colourful glass sculptures would be there bathed in light, and space enough for her to sit, play guitar, and sing for their dear ones seemed mandatory. As did a place for her to pursue her career.
Rather like a puppy and its bed, Linsey had long outgrown the little cubby at C&C where she did her work, both for Milan and Vera and for Designs by LGC, her own label; she worked scrupulously to keep the two halves of her professional life separate. Her small worktable and the walls around her niche in a corner were overfilled with projects, sketches, and swatches of fabric she acquired from various suppliers and sources. She had her own area of the shop to display her work, something she took great pride in, however, it too was getting cramped. Linsey’s plan was always to add in Ella, of course, the name of their label was to reference them both, as she hoped for Ella to be as much of a force of design and creation as she. However, as the time of Ella’s graduation approached, she grew concerned that there would not be sufficient room for them both at one time.
Linsey knew Milan had something in the wind; he always did, though he figuratively kept his cards close to his reinforced vest. On a particular Saturday, he asked everyone to stay over, something she tended to do anyway, to be sure nothing was hanging over her through Sunday. It was hard to miss the food being brought in, so Linsey knew he was ready for the announcement. Her eyes lit up when Milan announced the expansion, and Genie announced they were dating, although she was a little disappointed it would be after the start of term at Hogwarts. It also meant she wouldn’t need contemplate moving her label’s operation to the townhouse, and thence to their home when it was built. She loved the synergy at C&C, her friends and coworkers practically family. Moving once was hard enough already.
“That’s amazing, Milan,” cheered the Ravenclaw alum, and looking at Genie, adding, “And that’s wonderful news.” She had known Milan for a long time, and he’d been alone since school. Linsey remembered keeping company with him over Christmas break when she was a Fourth Year, crushing hard on the Seventh Year who was also her Quidditch Captain and Head Student, and though the relationship was risky enough for Mom to need to intervene, it was a warm, golden memory she kept close to her heart, even if her sketches of him from those times qualified as fodder for romantic fiction. He and Genie made for a nice pairing, and she hoped it was the start of something grand for both.
Looking around at the others, especially at Ella, her cerulean eyes alight as the possibilities danced in her head, she added, “You all realize what we could do with the extra space? Never mind the workspace upstairs, we can start holding our own events right here. We might miss out on the start of term, but maybe we could have our own Fall and Christmas shows this year, building up everybody straight out of the gate.”

Bieito knew his brother was up to something. He had to. Milan was really, really bad at keeping secrets. When he was asked to stay late today, Bieito sighed, but agreed. At least he promised food. After a long, busy day, Bee wished he could just go upstairs and relax, but he'd promised to help with "inventory". Man, if Milan was really expecting inventory maths, Bee might just cry. Instead, they were gathered up by the very same older brother. Bee grinned as he said they wouldn't be doing inventory, but instead having a little party.
He announced that they'd be expanding the shop, thus allowing each designer their own space. There would also be individual offices upstairs, then Genie and Milan started smooching. Gross. "Well, it's good that we can finally stop pretending I don't see you two sneaking in and out at odd hours," he teased, noticing his brother's cheeks flush a vivid pink. "Though, question," he said, looking up. "Ahem. A-answer, probably." Milan said, glancing over before looking away. "If our offices move upstairs... where are we going to live?" Unless they'd have five offices squished in a smaller space?
"Oh, easy answer, actually! I'm working on buying us a flat in London. It'll have a room for you, unless you'd rather me help you find your own flat. I'd be happy with either." Milan offered a smile, his glasses pushing up a bit with the gesture. Bee grinned back, glad that they'd have a safe place to live. Linsey said they could do events there, in the shop. It would be really cool. "Oh, you're right. We could leave space in the middle for a short runway, perhaps. I was thinking of doing something of a small stage with lots of nice lighting and mirrors for people that are trying on their fancy clothes, but we could totally do events." Milan looked excited, which did make Bee happy.
Then Ella nervously raised a hand, like she was still in class. "Ella, what's your thought?" Good ol' Milan, not making things awkward. "We... we could maybe work with the Scouts program to offer occasional classes. L-like sewing or design or something? We go to classes a lot and it's always interesting." She was speaking louder (thank goodness), but she still seemed flustered, even by their small crowd. "That would be really fun," Bee offered, hoping to support the idea. Milan did tend to get carried away sometimes. "Maybe like once a month we offer a class. Not even just to kids. I'm sure several people want some help with basic sewing, or even more advanced skills. We could have our resident embroidery expert teach too." He grinned toward Ella, who blushed a bit. She at least seemed interested... probably. "That's great too! Anyone else have ideas? We'll have some more time to design and plan everything before the renovations actually begin, but I really want this to be our space, y'know?"
