There was a bit of a rumble in the pit of her stomach as well as the topic of food was brought up. She couldn’t recall the last time she’d really eaten anything of substance. Maybe they ought to explore it soon. Perhaps along the way to the lake?
"It is." Was this one she ought to take back to Lafayette? Could she take any of these hatchlings back with her? She hadn’t taken the time to ask the Chansey about that but supposed that could be rectified when they delivered the babies, they would not be keeping with them into her care.
"That’s a good idea. You have good ideas, Cloud." Yes that was an excellent idea. As soon as Castle got their legs together (it’d taken a trip once or twice trying to walk she saw out the corner of her eye) they’d be an excellent form of transportation. She set the moving egg down, moving Pidgey next to Cloud’s motley crew for uniformity. The bird had stopped its cries, turning its attention to the new faces she’d settled next to, chirping at them curiously.
It would be a good idea to develop a base of operations if they were intending to hatch many eggs and build an army of bakers. They could gather the eggs and move them to a specific place for hatching and beginning training the newborns. Yes, she liked that idea. While tugging another egg out, she noted some scattered near the wagon. Since the intent would be to refill both her and Cloud’s coffers, she opted to pick one up and add it as a replacement for her missing slots. Good!
She turned back with new egg in hand gaze shifting to the cowering forms of the babies left in her care, another shadow overlapping with Castles. Her pink gaze shifted up to the floating form of a Giratina and blinked once.

Now this was a pokemon she recognized. Which made the thought that it was in fact a baby interesting. She watched it wobble in place, nearly knocking Castle over and endangering the group and surrounding area.
It was going to be a challenge to wrangle all these big babies around, that was certain. Which made the idea of a base of operation more prominent at the front of her mind. "Hello." She voiced to the Giratina, catching its wavering attention. It cringed back and cowered back behind Castle in response. Okay, well that was that then. Cheri retrieved the last of the eggs from her wagon, adding another that was lying around nearby, and turned to address the newest hatchling, eyes going wide at the site.
It was a little chunk of ice in the form of an iceberg. Immediately it reminded her of a Castellia Cone. The Bergmite shuffled on stumpy legs spinning in place slowly to get an idea of its surroundings before landing on Cheri. The Espurr toddled forward, plopped down onto her butt, and stared long and hard at the pokemon. "You look like an ice cream cone." She stated in a matter-of-fact tone. "… Can you make ice cream?"
Cloud, unaware of Cheri's newest, and even bigger, baby pokemon sang to himself as he marched to grab them more eggs. He didn't wait until he was up close and personal to start picking them up, though considering he was carrying two loads of eggs this time he started moving in parts. "These are for meeeeee~" he lilted as five brand new, unhatched eggs levitated into the air and zipped over to him. Cloud turned on his heel, mouth parted to call out to Cheri, but stopped in his tracks and nearly lost his psychic grip on his eggs; he held tight to them though. "CHERI, THAT'S AN EVEN BIGGER BABY!"
She really really knew how to pick her eggs!
Cloud toddled back over to them, quick as he could manage, with eyes as wide as saucers as he looked at the giant baby floating in the sky. It was just... so big! And, almost kind of scary? It was probably the dark colors and wiggly, noodly arms. "Hi, there!" The eggs were settled down and Cloud gave a few hops to get the new baby's attention, just long enough to wave at it. He still had a job to do, of course. The Togepi scuttled back to grab Cheri's egg, but out of the corner of his eye, he did see the last of his hatchlings pop out. Cloud took a detour to inspect and welcome the cherry which really paired well with Cheri's ice-cream-cone-looking pokemon.
They were doing great! And they were only going up from here as Cloud returned for his second trip of egg gathering.

☆ ☆【 Scrambling quickly to lift both eggs out of her blanket pouch and onto the ground where they could hatch safely without endangering any other eggs, Marzipan shut her eyes as a bright white light briefly filled the area followed by resonating cracking sound of the pair of eggs breaking open. As the flash faded away, the Lopunny carefully opened her eyes to see the two newly hatched babies. The first was a Tentacool, barely larger than the size of a plate, floating only about five inches above the ground as its tiny tentacles dangled and touched the tips of the blades of grass below it. The other was a small green monkey with a little, bush-like growth that sort of resembled hair popping out from its head, which she immediately recognized as a Pansage.
Well, at least something she could immediately recognize hatched this time, but… Oh goodness, she was now starting to slowly realize just how much work it’ll be to keep track of all these babies as more eggs started hatching... How many of these would she even be able to keep to bring back to Zane? As much as he loved Pokemon, even she had a feeling he'd be incredibly unprepared to handle a sudden huge influx of so many young Pokemon that had to be take care of. 】☆ ☆

☆ ☆【 Marzipan shook her head, not wanting to deal with the potential headache thinking too deeply into such a scenario would likely bring. As much as it would break her heart to only be able to choose so many of these babies to take back with her, if any at all, at least she could take some comfort in knowing that they would surely go to good, loving homes if she gave them over to the Chanseys to be adopted. Damn… One of the misfortunes of being a mother, but, well… this wasn’t her first rodeo being in this exact same kind of position. But she really, really hoped to be able to keep at least one or two of her sweet little babies, this time at least…
Offering a small, warm smile, she bent down to greet the two latest additions to her growing mobile nursery of young’ns. ”Well hello there~ It’s very nice to meet you both,” she spoke with a light, gentle tone of voice, smiling as the Tentacool gave a happy little spin and spit out a few bubbles as it floated up closer towards her. The Pansage, somewhat more of a show off, did a couple of very well executed back flips and flashed a toothy little grin, clearly quite a skilled acrobat despite being only recently hatched. Well, seems like they were going to get on quite nicely with each other from here, or at least she hoped so… 】☆ ☆

☆ ☆【 The Lopunny’s smile never left her face, turning her attention towards the little Tentacool as it floated closer towards her. Reaching out, it wrapped its two tiny tentacles around her hand and tugged at it, thankfully avoiding stinging her in the process. The baby blue jellyfish Pokemon continued to tug insistently at her hand, as if it was trying to demand her attention for something. ”Hm? What do you need, little one?” Perking up at the question, the Tentacool raised both tentacles and curled them a little at the tips, like a toddler asking to be picked up by its mother.
”Oh alright. Just be careful with those things, okay? I’d rather not get poisoned from an accidental sting,” she acquiesced, bending down and carefully scooping up the little jellyfish before setting it down onto her right shoulder. Quite pleased with its new perch, the Tentacool gave a cheerful, watery sounding trill before draping its tentacles lightly down and over and nestling itself against the Lopunny’s soft, warm fur as it got itself niiiiice and comfy. 】☆ ☆

"Hup!" Cloud raised Cheri's new eggs with gusto, eager to return to her and the very large group of babies that they now had. They had their transportation in Castle baby—it probably wouldn't mind if they rode atop of it—and they could get to the lake within a flash! So, that was one problem solved. But, now they had a new one: everyone was starting to get hungry, and feeding 12 mouths was going to be hard. Especially when they didn't know what everyone could eat or even liked! And they'd have even more mouths once the new eggs arrived. Cloud knew they were building an army, but a hungry army just wouldn't do! Maybe... they could give them back to Chansey, just for a bit, so that she could care for them while they recruited more and more babies?
Cloud thought this was a very good idea, but he'd run it by Cheri first to see if she thought so too. The Togepi pushed himself through the blades of grass and followed his own trampled trail back to his friends, new eggs secured and thoughts bubbling in his head.

C L O U D The Togepi
Although he intended on asking Cheri's opinion, Cloud didn't intend to do it right this second. She was busy with her hatchlings and he had his own to check back in with; that was what a good guardian did! Silently, he placed Cheri's eggs near her wagon before he waddled over to his group of five. "Ditto!" Blobby was the first to greet him with a jiggly, happy wave before Big-Face and Dish gave a greeting of their own. Only the two newest babies—the cherry with two heads, and the furry dragon with the beard—stayed silent but they peered down at him with wide, almost sparkling, eyes; even if the hatchlings were all bigger than him they could tell that he was older than them, and stronger too. Cloud puffed up at these thoughts and gave the gentlest taps to both their heads, though he needed Beardy to lower its head first. "Welcome to the world! My name's Cloud! Can you all say Cl-ow-d?"
None of them could, but they all tried their best with soft coos and warblings that were probably words in the making. "Good job!" he gushed, regardless, and gave head pats all around. Then he stopped to look at Cherry Two-Head. He didn't like that name too much. One: because it was a mouthful to say, and two: because they already had a Cheri; he didn't need anyone getting confused.

"They really are." She hadn’t expected them to be so big. Cloud’s growing collection were more manageable sizes, even when they were slightly bigger that the Togepi himself. She scuttled over to clear out some of the eggshells scattering the landscape. She spotted as new forms popped up into the group as more of Cloud’s own hatched.
Oh dear. So many babies and they hadn’t even set up station yet. She glanced at the last of her egg hatches as she noticed it finish. It looked like a little whether balloon with a cowlick… and very weird bubble butt on its front. It was the weirdest looking critter.
"Hello." She greeted earning a little wiggle from the Castform. She really didn’t see a future for it in their empire. Still, beggars couldn’t be choosers and until she and Cloud had figured what to do with the babies.
Maybe, short term, they weren’t going to be able to keep all these babies. So, a culling would have to occur.
Not, a literal culling. Figurative speaking. She watched the babies toddle and bump into one another as they tried to gain their legs, the ground rumbling like an earthquake as Castle (that was what it would continue to be called) fumbled about in a hazardous manner. Giratina lumbered with less trouble, though both were a danger to anyone who happened to come underfoot.
She’d cleared the eggshells into a neat pile only to watch as Pidgey hopped into it and started flapping about wildly.
Why.
Well, no use standing around here. She shuffled back to her wagon, spotting extra eggs that Cloud had brought for her. How sweet! She needed to consult him on their next course of action. And so quickly she loaded them up into her wagon.
Cheri saddled the last egg brought into the wagon. It was a good assortment and she trusted that Cloud had found some more special babies.
Which led to the matter at hand. All the babies littering the place. She picked up Pidgey from the eggshell pile and set it in the wagon with the eggs to keep it from acting out, turning her attention to Castle and Giratina. "…You two should follow a distance behind. Okay? Until you figure out how to walk. Otherwise, if you fall, you’ll squish everyone. That would be bad." Very bad.
She grabbed the handle of her wagon and tugged it along, ushering Bergmite to follow her while the Castform bobbled through the air. She really didn’t care for that baby for some reason. She rolled over to Cloud and his crew, eyeing the odd collection before addressing her friend.
"Cloud, we need to find a place for these babies to stay. They’re probably not going to be able to keep up and we can’t watch them all and hatch new special pokemon." Pidgey chirped from the wagon as it watched the two converse. Cheri stared at it as though silently ushering it to be quiet. "Did you have any ideas? Maybe we can find a hole and keep them in it otherwise…,"

C L O U D The Togepi
Cloud, who was still thinking of a name for Not-Cherry, turned to Cheri as she spoke up. He did have an idea, but right then, he couldn't tell her: he was giggling too much. The Togepi had a funny image in his head of all the babies sitting atop each other in a hole. It wouldn't be comfortable, but it was funny to think about! Behind him, Blobby copied his laughing pose: one hand pressed to its mouth while its body rolled and jiggled from the force of its giggles.
"You're funny, Cheri," he finally managed to say, before Cloud finally got himself under control and cleared his throat a bit. "I do have an idea!" There was some pride in his voice as he announced this and he turned a curious look to Pidgey, then a few of his hatchlings. "Let's have Chansey take care of them! She'll even know what to feed them and everything," he explained before carrying right on. "I think it's a good idea! I just don't know how we'd reach her. I don't wanna walk all the way back to her— we've already come this far!"

"Oh? Am I?" No one had ever told her she was funny. The passing glimpses into the minds of others indicated that they found quite the opposite, though she paid it no mind. "Hm," Cheri tapped her chin at the suggestion. "I suppose they would know best. They more than likely already have holes made for them." She’d firmly come to believe that leaving the babies (the small ones at least) in a hole was the best option. Cloud had a good point though; they’d have to find a Chansey first.
"Maybe… there are other helpers wandering around that we could drop them off with?" She mused. "I’m sure they are still attempting to tend to the eggs themselves after all." There was no way they were just relying on the good will of random pokemon sent to assist them. And if they were, then it was no wonder they couldn’t handle all these eggs.
"We can use Castle to see if we can find one." Yes, it was tall enough to scope some of the landscape for a round one. She set the wagon handle down and maneuvered over to the Stakataka, waving a paw to catch it’s attention. "Castle, sit down so we can climb onto your head. We need to look for a round one to help take care of you all."

C L O U D The Togepi
To Cheri's question about being funny Cloud gave a vigorous nod, which was more like tipping his body back and forth, then brightened when she introduced the idea of helpers. "Ooh, that makes sense!" He hadn't even considered that Chansey wasn't the only one they could turn to. She'd been the first, and last, "official" pokemon he'd run into so she'd been his first and only option.
He waited eagerly for Castle to sit down—he was going to be so tall!—and while he waited Cloud took the opportunity to gather the babies and have them sit by Cheri's, and also check on his eggs. They were still where he'd left them, all bunched together and the like, and didn't show signs of hatching; they'd be fine on their own for a little bit.
"Castle sure does have a lot of eyes..." Cloud observed after the living building had sat down. He leaned in to look at the ones on its legs, giggled as they dilated and fixated on him, then waved to them before he placed his attention elsewhere. "Alright, here we go!" He wasn't very good at climbing—which was another reason why he was so eager to learn how to fly—so instead, he turned his psychic persuasion inward and floated his way to the top of Castle's head. It was a weird feeling and not enough like flying for him to be too excited about it but the view from atop Castle cheered his mood considerably.
"Wooooooahhhhh," Cloud breathed, utterly awed. From so high up off the ground, the island became an entirely new world: one where he could actually see past the plains and very clearly spot the port. But that's not what they were looking for! He hummed a "searching appropriate" tune as he swept his gaze from East to West, then South to North, and even East to South; Castle's head was wide enough to do all sorts of turns and spins.
"Oh, there! Look over there, Cheri Berry!" In the distance, he could see a bipedal figure slowly roaming through a patch of grass. It wasn't a Chansey, but it was the next best thing: a human! "I bet that person could take the babies!"

In their little shaded corner, the island's hustle and bustle seemed far off in the distance. With a quiet corner to concentrate on her eggs, and company nearby it seemed as though time was moving by slowly.
