Lalarit nodded. "I would like to see Spring Rain; I normally stay in arid and hot places."
Lalarit laughed again. "Maybe, but don't let your wings get too wet! Wet feathers are a pain." He unfurled one of his leathery wings part way to give a little wave. "Mine aren't so pretty looking as yours but they make a good umbrella for the rest of me." He grinned.

"You'll work it out," assured Lalarit. "Just like everything, it takes getting used to. Having wings," he specified.
"I don't mind visiting new places," said Lalarit. "I like visiting new places, though I can get a bit stuck in a rut if I find one interesting place to live in," he admitted. "That's how I ended up in the desert for so long."

"I don't meet... many new ponies," said Lalarit slowly. "I mostly travel to places inhospitable to ponies and the ponies I meet around those places are... a bit different. Colourful characters," he assured Aviary. "But not anyone I would invite to a tea shop or to meet town pony friends. They have their own element and like to stay in it. It makes more sense to them."

"The point of my being here is to try new things," replied Lalarit. "So I can meet new ponies now and do city things with ponies. It's just not something I know a lot about already."

tab Her features relaxed as he commented on her care for her tattoo. It was her first, and while unknown if it'd be her last she was intent on taking care of it. At the mention of food her stomach grumbled, cheeks flushing.
tab"Yes, please! I'm starving," she nervously laughed as she began the lead to wandering to the buffet. "Thank goodness there's food," she added, delicately taking a plate and.... not so delicately piling food onto it. Look, she was hungry and hadn't had a real meal in days. Toast and butter was NOT real food!

tab"Queeqeg," the fish offered when the pegasus commented on their name. They watched Skeleton drift off in thought, cocking their own head in curiosity. Then, just as fast, the pegasus was back to attention. They chanced a grin in response, nodding their head back to the buffet.
tab"There's a dessert section. I was going to grab some pudding, myself."

tab His eyes trailed to the spot across from him, debating his answer. If he rejected her, she'd wander off and leave him open to more chatter from someone else. If he let her sit, he'd be subject to listening to... whatever it was she was saying. He bought time by sipping his drink, pulling his hair free from his shoulder. Then again, she wasn't heavily flirting not was she grabbing at his hair; something many ponies have done throughout his time outside his home (it was why he liked staying underwater, honestly.). She was not offensive, either.
tab"Just sit already," he murmured towards her, eyes locked on his drink. What was it Queeqeg said had to be done when you meet someone new? Oh, right "I'm Ishmael, you are?"

Tullio laughed and followed after the small mare to the buffet line, taking up a plate as well. Though, he hadn't expected the way she piled so much food on there. It was actually pretty impressive that she planned to tackle that much. He also took a ten ton on his plate, having quite the time balancing it on the way over to a table. The dragon set his plate down before pulling out a chair for the little mare. "Here you go, m'lady," he said with a smile, pushing the chair in after she took her seat.
Tullio took his seat beside her and decided that a slice of apple pie he had plopped on it would be his first bite. "I'm pretty impressed that you are gonna tackle all that. You're so small... where do you keep it all?" he asked with a playfully joking tone.

It didn't take but those few words from his newly acquainted fishy friend to motivate Skel to his hooves. "Let's hit that hard!" he cheered with the widest grin. His wings fluttered with excitement before pinning back against his back again when Queeqeg stood to follow him. The pegasus strutted with great purpose as they made their way to the dessert bar.
His eyes went wide behind the curtain of his bangs, blowing a puff of air up to move them out of the way. "Woooooow! Now this is what I'm talkin' about, right Qeg?" he said, already getting into the buffet of junk food that might last part of the night with the way he lived, ate, and breathed sweets.

Having had decided to join the festivities, Seam Queen dressed up in her best that she had sewn together just for the mixer. The glittering black material draped over her body like a dream and she couldn't have been more proud to strut herself right in while donning the spectacularly beautiful rose to signify she was available.
The mare sauntered up to the bar to grab a drink, choosing an Appletini as her starter drink. She sat back on the bar stool, looking out over the venue to observe the other ponies that came for the event, smirking to herself after taking a sip of the delightful drink.

One brow quirked at the bat's response and Sunny bit his lip to keep from laughing. First the guy outs himself on his own so called unfavourable traits (he knew he didn't say they were, but as a while, society usually dictated ‘weird’ is bad) and now he was suggesting ditching his way back home.
His eyes moved back to the winged pony next to him, a smirk curling the corners of his lips as he debated his choices. While sitting here at the bar, chatting up strangers and possibly getting a few more drinks did seem like a decent enough time, the aquatic found himself intrigued by the offer of this bat taking up his time. “You suggesting painting the town with me tonight, Idris?” He teased lightly before knocking back the remainder of his drink and ordering another.

The ghoulie smiled softly at the green eyed twin before he answered the question posed to him. “A friend brought me because he didn't want to come, or leave, alone. Seems as though he may have found someone to keep him company, though.” He chuckled lightly, shaking his head. “I came to the lounge because the main club is a bit loud for my taste right now.”
He swirled his drink, eying the pale liquid a moment before taking a sip. “What of you? What brings two lovely ladies out to an event like this?”

She stood quietly as the other seemed to weigh his options. Her eyes flickered down to his drink and she realized, much too late it seemed as he told her to sit, she hadn't gotten one. Ah well, perhaps later.
For now, Dancer slipped into the seat across from him with a gracious nod of her head. “Ishmael?” She repeated with a blink, allowing it to truly sink in that he indeed carried this name. “How lovely!” The smile that played across her features reflected the sincerity of her words.
“Dancer,” she offered, reaching up to swipe a few errant strands of blonde from her eyes. “It is nothing as exotic as thine own name,” she laughed softly before continuing. “Why art thou here, if not to enjoy the party?” She was quiet a moment before she realized that may have been a bit too forward. Another soft laugh escaped her as she she shook her head. “An answer is not necessary, I am merely curious.”
"hmmmm...maybe we can see if there are any other ponies here alone?" Aviary looks around the room. She sees a shy looking deep sea aquatic staring at the dance floor. "What about them?" She motions towards Raripila. "Oh and there's that dancing Pegasus there."She motions to Frilly Glider. "They seem to be alone."

One hoof still tapping at the ground, the other three stuck to it like they were glued down somehow, Raripila just watched all the dancing ponies as they twisted around on the dance floor, her green eyes blinking slowly as she took it all in. It was terrifying and beautiful and she was utterly confused when a pony came over to her and asked her what her 'status' was before handing her a red rose when she couldn't answer. It was a much paler red than she was, but it seemed to match all the same and... and it was pretty!
Holding it close to her heart, the little aquatic was about to start looking around again and saw a blue pony with a horn.. and wings? Was she an alicorn? Her mother had told her about those but it seemed like a myth more than truth when she'd been down so deep underwater where there were no others, not even alicorns. Swallowing against a lump of abject fear she moved forward towards the other and bobbed her head as deeply as she could once she arrived.
"D... did you need... something? I'm so sorry if I was..." was she a distraction, something that had needed to be removed or told to leave? Was it possible to do it wrong, whatever it was they were all doing? Hoping for some sort of guidance, she looked at the flower and held it out before her, because just maybe it had been something she was supposed to gift to the alicorn present?
When Raripila walked up to her, Aviary was a bit surprised. She thought she was being more discreet with her motioning and here she was apologizing to her. "Oh. oh no." She smiled "It's ok. My friend here was saying he was looking to meet more ponies by coming here. So I was trying to point out ponies that didn't seem busy with others. I'm so sorry." She extends a hoof. "My name's Aviary, nice to meet you."

Her... friend? Complexly designed eyes flashed from her to the dragon beside her and it caused the little aquatic's hear to start beating a bit faster. Though she knew in her heart that her mother had been wrong about everything else, she'd still instilled some degree of panic in her with her own sort all those years in the darkness of the ocean depths. But she wasn't her mother by a long shot. No, she reached out a hoof to Aviary and placed the flower in it, like she was supposed to? Right?
"It... it's nice to meet you both. I'm Raripila. I came here to meet others too, or at least to see something pretty. Everyone's... flowers are!" She smiled shyly but her jagged teeth flashed in the exact way she hadn't meant for them to and the little one dropped her head because of it. "Sorry, I know I shouldn't smile."
Aviary was a bit confused upon being handed Raripila's Rose instead of a hoof shake. She could hear the nervousness in her voice especially when she apologized for her natural smile.
"The flowers really are a nice touch" She levitated the rose into Raripila's mane and secured it."There we go!" She was pleased with herself and her handiwork."Now now, Its ok to smile! you are having a good time right?"
