Sammy smirked and ignored his notes, continuing to dance as she was. "Hey, he came on to me, all right?" she joked, acting as if the invisible person were real. "And I believe the proper term is cutting in." She then 'let go' of the other man and curtsied to Tobias, placing her hand lightly in his.OOC: Not trying to flatter, just being sincere. ^^

Radiant Anon Solsi Sammy smirked and ignored his notes, continuing to dance as she was. "Hey, he came on to me, all right?" she joked, acting as if the invisible person were real. She then 'let go' of the other man and curtsied to Tobias, placing her hand lightly in his.OOC: Not trying to flatter, just being sincere. ^^ Laughing softly at that, he grinned.
"I had no idea, forgive me. Yes, that is the proper term. I simply did not realize there was someone to cut in on."
Turning slightly, he made to speak to her current dance partner.
"Do pardon me, good sir. I would like the rest of this dance, if it would please the lady."
Taking her hand, he drew her in a little closer. His other arm moving to go around her so his hand rested at just the end of her shoulder blade.
"Ready?"
As soon as the count started again, he would move. So long as she was ready that is.
((I believe one can flatter while being sincere. And thank you again. ))

Sammy suppressed a giggle watching Tobias ask thin air if he might interrupt their dance together. "The lady is pleased," she assured, giving him the go-ahead as she placed her other hand on his shoulder. "Ready." she added with a brief nod, lifting her chin and meeting his eye.OOC: Oh...I thought they were kind of like antonyms. My bad, heh.

Tobias gave his best attempt at an innocent smile, as his asking was all in silliness. Best to at least state you intentions of cutting in before doing so, even if one happens to be cutting in on no one. Nodding at her being ready, he stepped forward on the next count.
"You do not seem to have trouble with this one, which is good. Can you follow if I start to lead in a turn? Your steps will need to go at more an angle than straight. If you prefer I can show you first, unless you already know how to do this."
He had kept to the simple box step, staying to a small area. Having them start to turn would only increase the area slightly.
((Nothing to fret about. I flatter, but I don't say it if I don't mean it. ))

Sammy nodded. It had been a while since she danced with a partner, but things seemed to flow easily so far. She was fairly confident she could transition to him taking the lead. "I think I can adapt fairly easily." she said, eyes still holding his gaze.OOC: Ah, that is good to know. -^^-

Radiant Anon Solsi Sammy nodded. It had been a while since she danced with a partner, but things seemed to flow easily so far. She was fairly confident she could transition to him taking the lead. "I think I can adapt fairly easily." she said, eyes still holding his gaze.OOC: Ah, that is good to know. -^^- "Adaptability is very important, especially in some of the more intricate dances. One can never be sure when a partner will decide to ad lib a little something."
His head gave only the slightest nod so as not to break eye contact.
"Take your next step back straight, the second will have you angle yourself slightly to the left, then the join. Step forward straight, the second again the slight angle to the right this time, then the join. Then you repeat, sound alright? Really it's more you turn ever so slightly on your stationary foot and you technically still step out straight. Heh, but that might be too much in words, it is much easier to simply try."
It had been some time since he had taught another to dance and he felt he might be a tad rusty at the explanation. Besides, he felt it was far easier to show rather than tell. However, not knowing if one's student was of the audio, visual, tactile, or kinetic variety of learners right off hand, it was hard to know what would work best to teach them.

Sammy listened carefully, but it was a little difficult to visualize the new steps he described while continuing the old ones. The confusion reflected in her eyes a moment, then she shook her head every so slightly to regain focus, and smiled up at him. "You're right, I'm probably over thinking this. I'm sure my feet understood what you meant. Let's give it a try."OOC: ~

I'm sure my feet understood what you meant. Let's give it a try."OOC: ~ Giving a slightly apologetic smile, he nodded.
"Sorry about that, I did not want to take you too much by surprise."
Giving her a wink, he started the turn.
"Just follow my lead and I am sure you will do fine."
His smile became more his usual one now as he continued in having them turn.

Brow raising ever so slightly a moment, it then went back down again seeing as she was moving seemingly effortlessly with him..
"As I thought, you do this well. I may have little to actually teach you, Sammy my dear."
He was teasing a bit, though for all he knew she'd pick up any step with no trouble. It actually did have his curiosity piqued. What other dances might she do with little to no visible effort?

She didn't really know what she meant when she said any others, honestly she wasn't sure where the lesson would go and what other dances it would expand into. She didn't really know what she meant when she said any others, honestly she wasn't sure where the lesson would go and what other dances it would expand into. "It's all right though, one step at a time I guess. Literally."OOC: ~ "Heh, a handful, or an armful. I am sure we can make do either way."
There was a nod and chuckle at both her statements.
"Well said, Sammy my dear. Is there a certain dance you are wanting to try? Something more intricate perhaps?"
As he spoke he was also trying to think of the right way to tell her how to do an under arm turn. For a brief moment he wondered if she would know it already and he could just give her a gentle press of the hand on her back. No, probably best to check if she knew it before trying to have her go into one.

Hearing her last word made him turn his head slightly.
"Sensei now? So I have gone from upper class men to teacher?"
Giving a slight grin, his eyes showed a hint of amusement at this. Shaking his head, he returned to the actual question.
"I find swing dancing to be rather enjoyable. Have you ever tried it?"
((I have the distinct feeling if he tried to teach her the tango at this point, he'd have a passed out Sammy in his arms. ))

Sammy sort of laughed. It usually went over her head when she spit out Japanese phrases. Just another oddity of life as a magical girl. "Well you are a sensei, at least for now." she remarked on her behalf, looking him in the face again. His eyes sparkled with amusement making her nose wrinkle a little as she smiled a bit more. "I have not, but I've heard good things."OOC: There are worse things to have happen. XD
