"You look gorgeous, Heichi-san!" Miyako exclaimed in true delight. Even if it took every last one of her acting chops, she was going to make sure her last night was a night to remember. She only hoped she looked half so nice. "No, I'm afraid my companions are nowhere to be found. Ninsei-san was kind enough to invite me to the festivities." She laughed and twirled around for the girl. "Without your help, I couldn't have looked half so good. You have my thanks."

Tamafune would smile politely, doing her best to withhold a giggle. "I art glad thou enjoyed thy new ensemble, and decided to attend. Sumie couldn't make it," She began to explain. She is spending the eve with Matsudaira - er, a boy that she doth harbor feelings for. His parents had nary an intention of coming to the feast; I dost not understand why."

Suddenly, Tamafune saw someone beyond Miyako's vision, her gaze averting. If Miyako were to turn, she would see the young daimyo, Heichi Shizugai, and the man from the Dragon that Miyako had met earlier. They were greeted by several samurai of the Clan, as they moved to the head of the table that was set up. Peasants began to bring out trays of food, wavering from the steam that rose from the meals.

"I think the event is about to begin." Tamafune would look to Miyako and bow her head. "Miyako-san, without thy companions, thou hast no one to sit with. Wouldst thou like to take a seat by me?" Tamafune would gesture towards one of the side tables where her parents were taking their seats, waiting for her response.

Miyako could at least understand why the boys parents would not wish to celebrate their doom, but to each their own. At least she'd do her best to go out with style. Smiling, she gratefully accepted the girl's offer. "Thank you, Tamafune-san. I would be most grateful to have someone to sit with." And she sat as she was told to, although she kept looking at the Dragon ever so often. He was as out of place as she and he knew their fate and seemed almost too complacent. She'd never been one to buy the 'I can accept my own fate' even if she was doing that herself; she told herself she was only doing it because she wasn't smart enough to figure out what else to do.

"Dear my beloved and honorable Family and Clanmates," Heichi Shizugai started speaking all of a sudden, as all chatter died down instantly. The young man practically beamed at this, before continuing.

"As many of you wit, this might be our last night together. The armies of the Emerald Champion doth come to seek vengeance against a slight - a slight. There is a very good chance that the Boar will no longer exist by this time tomorrow."

There was no murmurs, no outspoken cries... but Miyako would feel moods dampen, hearts sink...

"I hath arrived at a decision, at the behest of my advisor - tomorrow, I wish for the Boar to not raise a single blade in defense against the attackers - we will not resist, and let the Emerald Champion's wrath arrive unabated."

NOW there was murmurs, as people began to whisper amongst themselves in confusion. Tamafune would clutch her father's sleeve in a moment of anxiety.

"The Boar hath been loyal to the Empire for six generations now; it is my wishes that we go down in history as loyalists, not rebels. Centuries from now, the Great Clans themselves will still tell tales of our heroic sacrifice, and we shalt become a beacon of light for with future generations to use as guidance for their own deeds!"

Heichi Shizugai, several years' Miyako's junior, seemed fearless, possibly ignorant of death, as he gave his order. There was a long awkward pause as what he was asking sank in.

Soon, one samurai did deeply bow in response, speaking the words, "Yes, my lord."

Then another would do the same: "Yes, my lord."

"Yes, my lord."
"Yes, my lord."
"Yes, my lord."
"Yes, my lord."
"Yes, my lord."
"Yes, my lord."
"Yes, my lord."
"Yes, my lord."
"Yes, my lord."

As Tamafune's parents would too bow, so would she.

Heichi Shizugai would smile broadly, putting his hands on his hips and observing the massive show of fealty his followers were giving.

"You all maketh me proud," the daimyo would say. "Before we meet our fate, whatever it may be, I have asked our honored guest, Agasha Ryuden-san, to say a few words. It was his idea to hath thee gathered here in this great feast, to tighten the knots of community on the eve of a great battle, and hath sworn to stand with us tomorrow, no matter what happens. Please, giveth Ryuden-san the due respect he deserves."

Gesturing to the side, the man from the Dragon would approach Shizugai's side, and he would bow deeply to the gathered group ; a sentiment that was communally reciprocated.

His idea? That phrase sent alarm bells off in Miyako's head. Despite her father's monthly cleansing of everything that might possibly pollute her mind, she'd still managed more than her fair share of pillow books of adventure, rogues and villains and the fact that an outsider had gotten them all here together made her even more fearful. But what could she do, she was one woman.

"Excuse me, Tamafune-san. I will be right back, I need a breath of air I feel a flush coming back on." And with that, for just a moment, if she could do it discreetly, she'd make her way to the hall so that she could regain her composure but still hear what was going on but she would be back before long. If she could not, she'd silently grip her fists together and hope this feeling of helplessness would vanish.

Tamafune would nod, giving Miyako one last glance before turning to listen to the Dragon speak.

From around the corner, Miyako would still be able to hear his words.

"People of the Boar - I applaud thy honor, for thou truly art the measure that all samurai should live up to. I am glad beyond words to be able to witness your glorious, admirable stand first hand, and to share these last moments with all of you."

"Centuries ago, during the First Day of Thunder, the Kami Shiba had faced off against the First Oni - my investigations have shown that the Oni did not die immediately, but made it here, to the Twilight Mountains, before succumbing to its wounds. Its blood soaked the land, and enriched it with a bounty of mineral and ore - this same mineral and ore that has become the livelihood of your Clan."

There were some confused murmurs at the impromtu and unwarranted history lesson.

"This ore now can be the Boar's salvation in your darkest hour - I come not only from a distant place, but a distant time, as well. One where most samurai live their lives never knowing there was ever a Boar Clan. But I am here to give your sacrifices true meaning - for six generations your people have protected these lands, and have become a part of them. It is by this bond that you shall truly be set free, and the Boar Clan can truly shape the events of this Empire."

Miyako froze. What in the Kami's name was going on?! He was time traveling, so she wasn't crazy then. And she had only her weapons and the items upon her person. Moving to the side of her new obi, she checked to make sure that the finger of jade that Kojiro had given her remained and was untouched by the Taint even as she continued to listen.

The finger of jade is unmarred.

"Why is this important, you ask? You see, the fortitude of the Boar is well known in your time. That spring water that you've depended on for generations to bolster your bodies and spirits actually is corrupted by a few drops of the First Oni's blood that had soaked deep into the earth into a reservoir. Not nearly enough to Taint anyone, but enough to do this."

Suddenly, there were a few gasps, and a few shrieks of terror. There was a sound of commotion, people getting up in a hurry. Miyako would not hear from Agasha Ryuden for a few moments, but the words "Your Will To Mine!" and the commotion seemed to stop.

"Some of the people in your city have not had their will weakened enough yet; capture any you find, and bring them to me."

There were a few cries and shrieks, some drawing of steel followed my the clashing of blades.

"Oh, and go fetch that Scorpion b***h from my time. She'll make an exquisite sacrifice."

"Sweet Kami, help us all." She should have done what she could when she could have. It didn't take much more to convince Miyako but she doubted she was quite that good just yet. Just where was that Hare when she needed him and his feet of fury; didn't all Hare hate blood magic. But that was neither here nor there. Her first thought was that little girl. She had to be a part of all of this. She had to. Had she been in the ballroom or was she too young? If she wasn't there, could she find her room again? Actually, more important was the Bloodspeaker. But what could she do? As she quickly thought about it, she smiled at the thought, thinking about her cousin Yoshiro.

Be the Scorpion in his slipper, little cousin...

Wow, being in the sticks was reminding her of her cousins far too much, perhaps because that's where she'd first met them. But no matter the reason, the advice was sound. Now to just find her way back to the Dragon's rooms and hope no one came in force for her there. Never was she so glad she was in a costume of the Boar and that she was a bit Bland in appearance to people who haven't directly interacted with her. Ripping off her mask, she stuffed it into her kimono in places where she'd have to be stripped to get to and made her way towards where it was.

[First 3 Dice - To recall where his room is = Intelligence (Precise Memory)=16
Next 5 Dice - To get there without being noticed by anyone who matters (aka someone trying to kill her) (Agility/Stealth) Spending 1 Void for 1k1= 16
Next 2 Dice - If the first recall doesn't work, to figure out where Omiko-sama's room is whether the girl is there or not. N/A

Miyako would be able to remember where Agasha Ryuden's room was, from when she was brought there personally before. Likewise, she would remember where Omiko's room was.

Removing her mask, she was about to leave when Tamafune would cry out, "Miyako-san!" She would dart around the corner, stumbling as she went, and looked to her left for where she thought Miyako must have gone; her back was to you currently, giving you the opportunity to escape silently.

"Miyako-san, please! My parents, they... Miyako-san!" she would cry out and start quickly moving away from you, panting heavily.

Where do you head off to, Miyako?

She winced inwardly at Tamafune's voice; while she was cruel to most people, Tamafune had shown her one of the few acts of kindness despite knowing that she was a Scorpion she'd ever known outside of her family and Clan. But she was a Scorpion, that meant the good of the many did outweigh the good of the few. I'm sorry, Tamafune...The Kami protect you.

Sighing, she continued on her way to the Dragon's room, evolving her disguise as she went, repeating phrases and speech in her mentally so that she'd be prepared if she did come across anyone. Even so, she prepared herself with the weapons she did have on her person, just keeping them concealed

[Agility/sleight of Hand = 36

So she hid her wakisashi up her....where now?!

Miyako would quickly escape the feast, making her way back towards the inn in the city where she remembered leaving earlier.

Through determination and perhaps a little luck, she managed to get to her destination - though as you stand outside the inn, several Boar samurai began walking down the street towards your position... wait, your general area, actually.
