Denbe awoke, and first noticed that he had a throbbing headache, and some remaining pains. Shortly after, he remembered what had happened, staring at the dark. After a bit of that, he decides that he can feel all his parts, and wiggle them enough that nothing should be done any harm that'll last beyond a bit more rest, and he was even cared for some in his sleep.
He almost went to sit up- and then felt something.
After a moment, the Hare tried to adjust and see if he could see whom was there, or something else about the room, but didn't expect much until he sat up and said "Hello?"

Kojiro read his note and mentally sketched out his agenda for the morning. He would have to bath, get food, have these letters delivered, pay reverence to Yogo-sama, and various other sundry things.
However, given Miya-chan's comfort at this place, he would check in with her and discuss his itinerary with the Shosuro.

Psychofish but didn't expect much until he sat up and said "Hel~oof!" No time for hellos. At least not while a steaming hot, moist cloth was being shoved in his face, the mysterious hand behind it firmly pushing him back down. "Hida-kun beat ya good. Best na' move s'much s'soon." came his chiding response. Despite its lack of courtly charm, the voice was clearly female. There was also a hint of indifference to her tone, implying that she wasn't going to stop him if he really wanted to get up. This came double when tiny footfalls returned to the other side of the room, and light rustling implied that she had sat back down on the floor. If he bothered to look he would find the dark-skinned young woman almost entirely undressed, bearing her tattoo-covered back to him as she returned to her meditation. Masuyo had been in the middle of morning prayers when her patient first stirred. She had to admit a small bit of admiration for the little Hare; Noriyori hadn't been in very good shape either when he brought the man to her. If he was strong enough to stand up to that crazed Crab, he was okay in her book.

The Hare wasn't going to argue too much with that. Once he heard her moving across the room, he'd sit up once again, pulling the cloth from his face, and examining his body. Not bad. Much better than he'd been last night. Good enough to fight in a pinch. Not enough to want to risk it given any other alternatives. Serviceable.
Of course, with the room being so fortunately dark and not bright, even with his head throbbing and such he found he adjusted and saw quite well- and stared for a moment as he clearly recognized the shape of the body without clothing, and then took in the back and tattoos all together- and put his head down, pulling the cloth over his eyes again.
Denbe wouldn't wait all day, but he'd let himself rest quietly, sitting and relaxing with his wounds and his thoughts until he heard the sounds of her stirring again.
At which point he'd finally think to shift slightly to feel exactly how dressed he was, knowing he had to be at least partly uncovered if he'd been treated properly. "Are you the one who treated me?" He'd ask once she stood and been up a few moments, moving the cloth off of his eyes long enough to see if he needed to politely cover them again, but not moving otherwise.

Miyako looked down at her note and wished she was far far away from this place. Nothing good ever came from associating with crabs. They were only slightly better than Cranes. But they needed to do what they needed to do. "I think we both need to eat and prep. We have no idea when we'll get a chance to next. Can you check with Ujina-san and Kaiu-san to make sure they are ready as well?" He might be a crab but she did want to do things up right. Plus she needed to re-write that terribly letter from last night. If she still couldn't reword things right...well, it'd have to do, she wanted the Jigoku away from here.

Much like the earth she was so attuned with, Masuyo did not move a muscle for quite some time. In fact, it was the stirring of something else that likely caught Denbe's attention. Perhaps more alarmingly as he looked around, the feeling of something moving at his feet. In the darkness he would simply see a large white splotch between his legs, and the hint that it had a good 8 pounds to it.
At the stirring of both guests, the little Dragon finally moved. She seemed to have at least enough decency to wrap her chest before lighting the chamber's torches, but still only deigned the bottom half of her emerald/gold kimono important enough to wear. The intricate tattoo decorating the length of her right arm and shoulder was much too pretty to cover.
"Mmhm." was all his question could merit as she smiled warmly down at... him? No, she was looking at the fox curled up on his legs. At all the commotion the little critter gazed up sleepily at the two of them, but didn't seem interested in moving.
"Arright. Let's have a look at'cha. Lemme know if anything huts like it shouldn't."
Thus she went about examining his bandages and bruises, poking him and moving arms and torso unceremoniously until she was satisfied he had escaped without any significantly hindering injuries. "Kitsuki Masuyo. Yer new here ain't'cha?"

"As you wish, Miyako-san." The scorpion stated as he bowed to his fellow clanswoman. Kojiro would take the handful of letters he had written the night before and set off to do several things while he was on the way to finding the Crab engineer and the Hare bushi. Hopefully, he could quickly find a shrine and give his ancestors at least fifteen minutes of proper meditation and devotion. Also, he would try to track down a place to mail off his letters. Kojiro wasn't exactly in a hurry to find those two, he figured. They could take care of themselves.

Denbe stared at the fox between his legs blankly for a moment and then bounded off at full tilt into the nearest burrow and laid his head back down. He wasn't sure what to make of the thing, but decided that so long as it was calmly accepting his existence, he'd extend it the same courtesy. What caught the Hare offguard was that as torches were lit and he uncovered his eyes, looking at her and adjusting, even if he didn't try to sit up again just yet, was that she still wasn't wearing too much. He politely averted his gaze, mostly, but still found his eyes trailing the not-quite-shimmering trails of tattoos.
The Hare smiled back, politely, and even returned some of the warmth, even if he was a bit put off by her current dress. His own was not much better, but as a patient one accepted such.
"All things considered, I'd say it all hurts about the way it should," he joked back lightly as she examined his injuries again, patiently letting her examine him and trying his very best not to make the situation awkward in his mind.
"Kitsuki?" He had guessed she might be a Dragon by her a tattoos, though seeing one here still seemed a surprise, "Yes, I only just arrived yesterday. A rather... eventful arrival. My name is Ujina Denbe," he introduced himself, letting her work a bit before finally allowing himself to ask "You wouldn't happen to be familiar with a Kitsuki Wazuka, would you?"

"U-ji-na..." she repeated, sampling the name as if it were some sort of delicacy. She already knew he was a Hare from the mon on his kimono (which was currently folded neatly by the bed, along with the rest of his loose-hanging affects such as daisho, armor, etc..), but putting an actual name to that was interesting. He was as rare a sight in these lands as she. "You'll live. Jes try'n avoid ruffin' with any crab 'fore yer body catches up, huh?"
Prognosis complete, she snatched the little white vulpine up from its offending position and walked back to the other end of the room to tend to other things, as well as ensure that she was politely facing away should he decide to get up and dress himself.
"Wazuka? Not by face. Ya may's well call me Tamori-san fer all I know v'm'family." She didn't seem very interested in letting that discussion go far, though, "Wall's an odd place fer a Hare, ain't it? Ya step on an important toe n'na'nother scuffle?"

With a small bit of a laugh in response to her advice, the Hare sat up, stretching carefully and glancing over to check at his things. "Sound enough advice. If the Crabs will keep to it as well," he answered, deciding that he felt well enough to rise and get ready to do his duty. If not much better than that. He would do what he had to, he was capable of walking.
"Tamori?" The Hare was confused for a moment, before it occurred to him, that she likely meant she'd been raised by the Tamori. Better to ask after the other Dragon then, though he'd forgotten his name for the moment. Perhaps later. "It is, isn't it Kitsuki-san? I'm passing through at the request of a magistrate," the Hare explained, until she asked about the fight.
To that, he looked up, stopping in the process of dressing himself- in the middle of tying his bottom half to keep it in place, uncovered from the waist up, and started to laugh heartily, to the point where it hurt a bit, recalling the fight from the previous day.
"Yes, maybe, and no," he chuckled. "There had been a contest, where I'd met the other Kitsuki," he explained, "Hida Hogai, among myself and others, took part in a portion of it testing prowess in jiujutsu. I won." The Hare explained. "I had told the story, and Hida-san... was skeptical," the Hare said, trying to explain the Crab as politely as possible.
The sheer act of trying to insert manners into the life of a Hida seemed worthy of a bit of chuckling to him at the moment, however. The Hare laughed quietly, and continued to dress.

She too couldn't help but giggle at the truth to his comment. The men here didn't see any action apart from drills. If he presented himself as a competent fighter, chances are someone would fight him... and judging by the damage he had done to the Hida in question, it was far too late to feign incompetence.
Still, they could rough each other up all they wanted. The rest of his explanation was really where things got interesting. Having spent her entire life as far away from the Shadowlands as physically possible, she was only vaguely familiar with the Jade Magistrates, and it was certainly the last thing she might think of when asking, "Why'n Rokugan would magistrates hold a martial contest t'ween Ujina, Hida, and Kitsuki?" Obviously with a list like that there would be others, but that was entirely beside the point.
Though her back was turned, over her shoulder and all the while a pair of eyes still observed him closely.

The Hare might have felt quite a bit more awkward had he known she was observing him over her shoulder the whole time. Or perhaps not, since she had so recently seen more than was bared for most of the dressing just by tending to his injuries. It was probably for the best that he was looking away, and distracted enough to not know. Free show for Masuyo.
Not that he had any interesting tattoos like her, but Denbe had a scar or two. And he wasn't badly muscled... for a short, wiry little guy.
Her question made him pause and reflect, before finishing straightening his clothes, last layers and proper fitting hiding nearly all the bandages. She must have been travelling before the contest started, if she'd come all the way down to these lands without a steed, so perhaps she had never heard of the invitations sent at all. "All the major clans were invited- and I believe most of the minor. Hand-to-hand was but one of the competitions the Crane hosted. I simply thought it might be one of the most relevant to the Crab," he snorted in amusement at how that had turned out. "Perhaps I'll tell them about the Kemari competition next time. Bit safer to get a challenge in..." The Hare put on his daisho, and tucked his knife away, straightening up fully before turning around.
"I could tell you more about it if you like, but first I'll need to see when we depart."
