I remember. I was in 3rd grade. I think someone burst into the classroom and told the teacher to turn on the TV. I wasn't quite sure what was going on, but I knew it was bad. I was terrified of planes for long time after that. The worst part is that the first time I was on a plane after that, I was alone going to visit my father.

I was 8 years old. This is something I wrote for today, about looking at the tragedy from the two very different maturity levels.
The Gift of a Decade
A decade ago I didn't understand How something so tall could fall How so many people could die How big the war would become A decade ago I was a child I thought like a child I grieved like a child I supported my nation as best a child could A decade has passed And I understand The horror of the moment The grief of the loss The fervor of the fight A decade has passed And I remember That little girl's thoughts That little girl's grief That little girl's support What am I left with now? The gift of a decade The understanding of an adult With the memories of a child And grief enough for both

My reaction to this was so depressing. T^T I wish this never happened. About 3000 peoples lives would've been saved ;w;. I hope that those who have gone to heaven may rest in peace.

I remember sitting at home with my mom my first year out of school watching on the news. We were crying and she called the school to check on my little sister and brother. It was devastating and heart breaking. Pray for those still grieving their loses and Praise those who were brave enough to enter and search out survivors and the latter. Always be grateful for a blessed country!

I remember exactly what I was wearing that day, where I was standing, and what was being said to me before I found out about the attacks. I was only 8, and didn't understand the significance of the event. I was getting scolded for trying to wear my grubby play shoes to school when my dad called, telling us to turn on the t.v. Suddenly my shoes didn't matter. My mom left the room, and I didn't know why. School was very different that day, The adults spoke in hushed tones, even when we got in trouble. Even though I didn't entirely understand, I knew it was something that would change many lives.
RIP victims, and condolences to those who've lost someone they loved as a result of that day. heart

I remember I was in first grade, and my teacher just so happened to turn on the TV, to change it to Clifford for us to watch, and the news was on. We saw the second plane crash into the south tower, and we saw people jump or fall from the building. My teacher broke into tears. Now, I didn't know why it happened, or if it was an accident. I can only remember thinking "It crashed into that building. It's burning!" A lot of parents came to pick up their kids, but my mom didn't find out until after I came home. My dad was on his way to work when one of the planes hit the pentagon. Luckily, he works in Woodbridge, and was no where near the attacks.
My heart goes out to all the familes who lost someone that day, either from the crash, collapse, or the after effects from the debris. Stay strong, and remember them as Heroes. Many people pulled together to help one another in that crisis. That should not be forgotten.
