He looked at her " Alister has already heard the suggestion and doesn't like it." he said " She prefers using hell roots to make revitalization potions." he said " The girl is stubborn...just leave it alone if it works it works." he said stretching as you could hear multiple cracks. He looked at her " You must be pretty happy you found yuor Familiar and such a rare and powerful one at that...Wrym can teach you many spells you could never learn from a book or tome." Elkand was actually impressed she would have one like that in such a small item. He walked out expecting her to follow and went across the hall to the storage room.

"Hell roots?" Larkanna asked to no one in particular. I might have to get my hands on some of those if they work just as well as tropical roots or perhaps even better. She thought as she stood. "I am happy that I've found my familiar." Picking up the charm at the end of her neck chain, she gazed into its crystalline depths, which now held what looked like a tiny flame within. Following him to the storage room, she gazed about.

Within the storage room was an endless amount of artifacts, tomes, and old book mystical books. He walked over to the stack of duty books and dusted off the spines to see colors. He picked out the red one and looked at her and smiled. The book saws made out of scales as he waved his hand over it and it opened. The pages were blank at first but he put his hand over the page and closed his eyes as it began to flip its pages and glowing red words appeared on one side and pictures. The book itself was created by dragons and held much information on them. He looked at her " Wyrm of ancient fire." he said and read one finding what he was looking for and ran his finger over the words and it went into more detail. He looked up at her and walked over to her " I'm not sure but here's some information of a certain Wyrm with the same name as yuor familiar." he said and handed the book to her.

Larkanna took the book from him and gazed at the symbols that were actually the language of the dragons. She'd learned how to read the dragon runes during her free time over the past several years, since you never knew when you might run across one in the real world while on your travels. "Wyrm of Ancient Fire... the first dragon to be born of lava and fire itself. He lived for several thousand years and had been a god to the humans that chose to worship him. He and Icilia of Ancient Seas produced the first eggs and began the beginning of the age of the dragon. Ten thousand years later, his reign over the dragon race was overthrown by the son of his first son, Thanakik of the Ice Lands." Picking up the end of the chain to gaze at the amber stone, she raised a delicate brow, "So a mighty dragon such as yourself was considered a god. Not bad if I do say so myself. How did your successor manage to overthrow you if you were so powerful?"

"Pride and arrogance." Wyrm replied with a sigh. "That is why I attached myself to this and wited for someone to come along and give me a reason to continue on in this world. Someone who would one day be overthrown by their own pride and arrogance. You just happened to come along and pick me up, and so that is the only reason why I have chosen you, Larkanna Neverhart. You had a great power, but you let it control you and so it rid of you when you were at your greatest feat."

Larkanna's face paled. Yes, I was and still am arrogant... but that is the only reason why he chose to show himself to me?

Elkand let her read and listened. He could only read a bit of dragon s he was more suited to read the words written by ancient birds and demons like the one he had now though it had lost its speech capabilities. Hearing the dragons story was a rather depressing and yet fascinating. Her familiar was pretty much god and that was extraordinary. He shook his smiling a bit beacuse he had to admit this girl was incredible even for a witch this girl was incredibly powerful, smart, and she was capable of so much more. She might of been considered the strongest witch to step foot on this earth but she could have basically been a goddess had she never been punished but like the dragon there was always that issue of arrogance. He watched her and watched her face pale at the dragons words. Elkand shook his head and looked up at her with a smile.

" There is always that danger of yuor own demeanor becoming yuor own undoing." he started " Often those with power become drunk on it and it could their vision, there are many warning signs that try and place you back on the right path but yuor vision is so clouded that you will not see them." he said " The day you cast the spell you were probably given one last change to change it and stop." he said and looked at her necklace " And you probably would have seen it, but something was working against you." he said.

" You could have accomplished so much more Larkanna, more than any single person or creature could ever hope to accomplish." he said " Power attracts power that one of the rules of magic, a powerful familiar for a powerful witch, her arrogance is not the only reason you have attached yourself to her Wyrm" he looked towards the many items he has collected " Forces put you together and that is how you must remain.' he walked over to a coin and flipped it repeatedly " Your eyes needed to be opened and what better way to do it then stripping you of power you worked to hard for and chaining you to yuor enemies." he said.

He stopped flipping the coin and looked at it and then dropped it removing the cloth that hid his mark on the back of his hand and looked at it. It had a faint white glow to it now as he closed his eyes and touched it and then he got a flash of what her life was like before she got her statues. The fact that her family were no more than witches with the abilities of a young student. He saw what it was like for them especially to be looked down on by other witches. He grabbed his head and fell to his knee for a moment and it took a moment for him to regain his composure as he stood. He covered the mark back up "I'm sure you'll become what you were meant to again no doubts about it." he said " Look if you do not wish to return home as you have shown persistence so far you are allowed to stay here." he said his tone growing rather cold as he turned and walked past her and started to venture towards his room to change his attire.

Larkanna listened to his words, suddenly feeling like a young witch again, being lectured about how magic worked for and against those that were too ambitious for their own good. Her amber eyes watched him, wondering where in the world he'd gotten so much knowledge. To have such knowledge... he is the wisest of wizards and perhaps even of all the magic-touched folk that roam the earth in search of wisdom such as his.

Stepping forward as he fell to his knees, reaching out to help him, but suddenly she saw what he was seeing. Clenching her teeth and forcing herself into the real world, the present, she forced him out of her head, her memories. The mark on the back of her hand glowed and blazed, but she ignored the searing pain as she strived to keep her composure. It was embarassing to look back at what she might have been, at what the rest of her family ever longed to be. None of them tried very hard and they didn't get very far in the magical world.

His tone grew cold and he brushed past her. The first thing she thought was that he now truly disliked her for what she had come from, just as few had discovered before. Mentors had pushed her away from them once they discovered her heritage, while others sighed and told her that she shouldn't struggle too much, since she had little hope of ever getting very far. She sat down in one of many chairs in the room and closed her eyes, doing her best to push her past self away. "We would very much enjoy staying, thank you." Wyrm answered for her, ignoring her flaring anger. When he had left, the dragon familiar said, "I chose to show myself only when you two combined souls. I couldn't show myself to just you when there was a piece of the puzzle missing. Put knowledge and power together and a connection shall be formed that will take you to the greatest of powers."

Larkanna didn't open her eyes, but she listened to him without any emotion showing on her face. On the inside, she was both confused and understood. The greatest of powers...

Elkand changed into more comfortable cloths. They were cloths a young wizard would wear if they were in advanced classes which he was when he was still learning. He walked back out of the room and walked to the living room and went over to the bookshelf and grabbed one of his oldest books and sat down on the cough. He laid back on the couch and started to read just enjoying the peace and quiet in the house. He couldn't help but remember what he had seen and shook his head. He didn't hate her for where she had come from at all...it was something else. He couldn't quite pin it but it could be many things but he felt a little envy. It was rare come from such a background and to rise to such power was incredible to him and yet he envied the fact she was able to do it. Wizards were not known to have that problem, they were naturally gifted with power they just needed knowledge. He pushed it back and continued to read imagining the scene in his mind as he read silently and peacefully though he felt her anger he ignored.

Larkanna sat there for a little while, wondering what on earth she would do here since Wyrm had taken up the invitation. Standing, she used her bond with Elkand for the first time on purpose. Using it to help her find him, she stepped into the living room and gazed about for a minute before going to a couch across from the wizard and sat down. Looking over at the empty fireplace, she whispered a short spell and a fire sprung up. It was an extremely simple spell that required little energy. Leaning back into the couch, she looked over at him, not realizing what she was saying until she said them. "I'm surprised that you don't have women lined up outside on your doorstep, just praying to court you or slip a dose of love potion into a drink or two."

Elkand didn't say a word to her when she came in and sat down as he stayed focused on his book. Things were already weird enoguh but it seemed they were bonding no matter how much they didn't want to and they forced bond they shared was making sure of it. He remained quiet but shuddered when she said something about love potions. He looked over at her for a brief moment " I did just move my house close to yours, and even so its not exactly my house this was my alternative home." he said " They bothered me as much as the ministry of magic do and sometimes they showed up on the same day." he said " And love potions are not fun at all." he said remembering each time. He sighed ' Being forced to love someone you don't yet still remaining conscious is a horrible experience." he said " What about you?" he asked " I mean your young, beautiful, full of life." he said " Certainly many young men would love to go out with a red haired beauty such as yourself." he said. He was afraid to say these things he did think she was beautiful so he wasn't going to hide it.

Larkanna tilted her head to the side, interested in his words up until the point when he backfired her question against herself. Gazing at the fire, she shrugged a bit, "I have a tendancy to push people away; especially men. I never had any real need for partnership nor love, since the only kind I'd ever discovered was made with roots and herbs and put into a bottle." Love potions were extremely disgusting things, or so she believed. Ever since she'd learned how to make a simple one and had to test it on a random man, she'd hated them. By accident, she'd made her first one too strong and had him following her around, quoting poetry and trying to 'get her alone for a moment or two'. "I truly despise weaklings that search for love and force it upon others... 'tis a terrible thing to do. It just breaks hearts in the end, like real love, but the feeling of knowing that they aren't really in love with you makes you feel sick."

Elkand nodded " Yes it is Milady but there are lesson to be learned form even love potions." he said " You can't force love on someone through magical means beacuse at the end of it it creates a vacuum in both souls." he said " However it can be repaired by finding the person you are supposed to love." he said " Love normally is like an artifact, it'll lay dormant for years until uncovered and even then you must take utmost care of it otherwise it'll break and leave nothing but dust where something great once was and as its one of a kind it can never be replaced though there are many knockoffs, that will try and take its place but none of them ever will be able to.' he said. He shrugged " Still its kind of sad you never really had a boyfriend..there are mistakes you would need to learn from as its a good experience." he said. He yawned " Thats why wizards forbid love spells of any kind unless its charm but you have to be apart of the guild for it."

"Sadly, it is not banned from witches... 'twould be rather nice if it happened, but that's how most of us are brought into the world." Larkanna said with a shrug. It was common knowledge that few witches actually married and then had children, most simply put love potions on human men before 'seducing' them of sorts. Then they would vanish and have their child with magic running through their veins without having to worry about explaining to the human about what she and the child were. That was where things got messy when it came to human relationships. Many witches even searched for warlocks, who were a male witch without nearly as much powers as a normal witch or wizard, and married them. "All of the most potent love potions are only allowed to be made by witches in the highest circle and even then many of my co-witches don't use them due to their spells of seduction or charms. I, personally, have little interest in finding a man nor 'friend'." Standing, she turned to leave, but the symbol on the back of her hand burned. "Blast! What do you want?!" She hissed with pain, glaring at the marking with disdain.

Elkand nodded " Some witches do actually end up with wizards when they decide to ignore the boundary." he said. He then felt his hand start to burn and he touched it " What now!?" he said. He then got an idea and walked over to her and grabbed her hand " You shall stay here tonight." he said " This thing seems hell bent on keeping us close..." he said " Just for today...maybe it'll let you go tomorrow." he suggested hoping to make the pain stop.

The burning merely dimmed when he took her hand, so Larkanna pushed away her usual self and wrapped her arms around him, the burning residing. "Hell bent doesn't even cover it." She said quietly before replying, "That would be... nice." She was at a slight loss for words.

Elkand looked at her and sighed as the mark stopped burning them. He looked at her " You can sleep in my room I hardly ever use it." he said and laid back on the couch and went back to his book " At least now we can be sort of comfortable and the mark can apparently be appeased." he yawned. He closed the book and sat it on the table and slid down to he was completely laying on the couch " I'm actually tired." he said.
