I just know...if Max found out...I would literally be band from being anywhere near you." she said as she sat down beside her.❝How about you? Do you love me?❞

He admitted, maybe this would be a bit easier than he thought, but that wasn’t the hard part. Max knew his sister better than anyone else he knew. He would probably be able to tell if she was still thinking of telling Shayne but not able to tell if it was ok. She needed to act like she didn’t know that Shayne liked her too. Shayne sighed.
”Maybe when Max is around I should stay away from you, or would that be obvious too?”
"And make the best out of it."

❝I know I am his sister, and your friend...but I really love you!❞ Selena sighed and laid back on her bed with a groan. "He would realize something was up Shayne. Just, act the way you did before!" she said quietly as she closed her eyes.❝How about you? Do you love me?❞

”Ok.”
He put his hands in his pockets and headed down stairs toward the couch, she looked like she needed some alone time away from him. He laid across the couch and put his hands behind his head as he looked up and stared at the ceiling. She was a wonderful person and really beautiful but was she worth losing his friends trust over. He had only admitted that he liked her, it wasn’t anything to serious and he didn’t actually have to do anything with her. He could just be himself…maybe what he should try to do is find another girl. That always seemed to take his mind off of problems and another girl meant less time around Selena. It would kill two birds with one stone.

❝I know I am his sister, and your friend...but I really love you!❞ Selena was laying there when her phone vibrated. She picked it up and read a text. She gasped and darted down the stairs. "Shayne! Where are you!?" she demanded. wink >

”What? What happened?”
He looked around confused and unsure why she sounded so worried. He noticed her phone but didn’t think anything about it yet.

☞☞☞Shayne Copper Green☜☜☜ ”I’ll take whatever life throws at me.” It registered with Shayne’s brain automatically. He grabbed his pulled his keys out of his pocket.
”Let’s go.”
He ran out to door and to his house, sprinting as fast as his legs could carry him. He got in his gray mustang. He quickly turned it on and drove back for Selena.
”Hop in! Which hospital?”
He said waiting for her and to get in the car. He nervously tapped on the wheel.
"And make the best out of it."

☞☞☞Shayne Copper Green☜☜☜ ”I’ll take whatever life throws at me.” Shayne tried his best to stay within the speed limit as he made his way to the hospital. He kept tapping his finger on the steering wheel of the car, trying to take his mind off the fact he should be in a rush. If he did speed he might end up getting pulled over and then there would have been no point in speeding. He drove in and found a parking spot as fast as he could, then parked and quickly got out, shut the door and opened her door for her.
”Did they tell you where he was?”
He was trying to stay calm as he thought mainly about how he had been hitting on his now injured friends little sister, what a friend he was.

❝I know I am his sister, and your friend...but I really love you!❞ Selena unbuckled and got out of the car. She then thought about it and nodded. She took his hand and ran into the hospital. "Uhm, where is room 525?" she asked the receptionist lady. "Fifth floor....take that elevator and go to the right, it will be the third door on the right side of the hall." the lady said. Selena nodded and ran to the elevator and got in before it closed.❝How about you? Do you love me?❞

☞☞☞Shayne Copper Green☜☜☜ ”I’ll take whatever life throws at me.” Shayne followed behind her into the elevator. He watched the lights on the buttons blink, from 1 to 2. He sighed why did elevators have to take so long, he wanted to make sure Max was ok.
”Come on.”
He whispered to himself as he tapped his fingers against his thigh. This was punishment, he guessed. Now maybe he would learn to not even think of Selena. Even though he was holding her hand, oh great, he was doing it again.

❝I know I am his sister, and your friend...but I really love you!❞ When the doors opened to the fifth floor, Selena darted out, dragging Shayne with her. She counted the doors and entered the door that said had the numbers 525 on it. She looked and saw Max laying in a bed. "Max! What happened?" she asked running to his side. Max looked over at his sister and best friend. "I uh, I got in a car wreck. This dumb a** drunk driver t-boned me. It was a green light for me, and obviously a red light for him. And he ran it." he said as he hugged Selena.❝How about you? Do you love me?❞

”You really had me scared, are you ok? What did the doc say?”
He knew that the are you ok question was a stupid one but he needed to know if they were going to cut his friends foot off or something. Well at least Max was talking and awake, he would have felt terrible if he had missed Max being awake.

❝I know I am his sister, and your friend...but I really love you!❞ Max sighed and chuckled a little. "Uhm, the doctor said that I had a couple of broken ribs, and my left wrist is fractured. But other than that, I am perfectly fine. I can leave when he comes back." he said. "Sel, where's mum and dad?" Selena sat on the edge of his bed listening intently. She was glad Shayne had asked, she hadn't wanted to. Then she heard his question. "I don't know. They were gone when I got home from school. They left a note saying they would return tomorrow. And that you were working late tonight." she said quietly, not meeting anyone's eyes. She was looking down at her hands as she twidled her thumbs, trying to fight the tears that wanted to come out. She had always thought her brother was invincible, but seeing him laying in bed with the brace on his wrist, and the wraps on his torso, she knew she had always been wrong. She saw the tears start to land on her hands, and she knew this would shock the two, she never cried, never for herself, never. And this was the first time in years, and she knew Shayne had never seen her cry. And Max hadn't seen her cry since they were both very young.❝How about you? Do you love me?❞
