Xenos' chuckled as he stroked her hair.
"Understandable. If home is that boring why don't you stay in the mansion?"
He smiled broadly as he gestured to the room.
"You like our library,don't you?"

Mariana smiled. "That sounds nice." Mariana got up but flinched and grabbed her stomach. She grabbed the table to steady herself.

Xenos was up in an instant as he grabbed her uninjured arm to steady her. He growled softly under his breath as he made sure she was alright.
"Be careful."

Mariana frowned. "Sorry.....he stabbed me in the stomach too...."Mariana sat back down in the chair and tried to relax. Her stomach was hurting greatly.

Xenos ran a hand through his hair as he watched her. He hated to admit it,but he was worried. Anxiety bubbled in his stomach,Magnifying the feeling as well. He kneeled infront of her,gazing into her eyes.
"I think you need to rest."

Mariana nodded and looked at away with an embarrassed look on her face."I hate asking this....but could you help me home or to a guest room? I don't think I can get very far by myself...." Mariana looked like she was about to cry from not only the pain, but also the embarrassment from asking Xenos such a question.

Xenos stood up and in one swift motion scooped her up,bridal style. He grabbed her books as an afterthought as he exited the library making a beeline for the guest room.
"You don't even need to ask me you know..."
He smiled.

Mariana smiled gently with a blush still on her cheeks. "Thank you..." She rested her head on his chest and closed her eyes.

Xenos layed Mariana carefully on the bed of the guest room. He looked around as he sat in a chair wondering what to do next. The room was clean,barely used. They hardly ever had guests anyways.
"Do you need anything?"

Mariana immediately relaxed when she was laid onto the bed. "Please call my doctor. He stays at my mansion so he should be easy to reach. "

Xenos nodded as he called to a servant down the hall. The servant shuffled forward cautiously before finally stopping in the door.
"C-can I-I help you s-sir?" He stammered lamely.
"Call Mariana's home,would you? Summon her doctor." Xenos growled at the man,as he nervously stumbled down the hall with a murmured 'yes sir'.
Xenos sat back in his chair,pleased.

Mariana smiled. "It seems like I'm the only one not completely terrified of you."
20 minutes later the doctor came into the room. He was a tall man with short, black hair and wore a buttoned-up doctor's coat. He looked at Mariana and a vein popped in his head. "Miss Mariana......I TOLD YOU NOT TO LEAVE THE HOUSE FOR THIS EXACT REASON!!!"
Mariana flinched and held her hands up apologetically. "Sorry, sorry. I just really wanted to come here."
Another vein popped. He looked absolutely murderous.
Mariana was tempted to warn her doctor about the man sitting beside her but was too startled by the yelling to say anything.

An animal like growl escaped Xenos' lips as he stood up abruptly,knocking his chair over in the process. He drew himself up to his full height a menacing glare plastered on his face. His lip drew back as he snarled,revealing sharp teeth.
"Who do you think your yelling at,scum?!"
He looked like he was on the verge of throwing himself at the angry doctor.

Mariana looked at her doctor with a warning look.
The doctor looked at Mariana then at Xenos. "I am talking to the girl who's been my patient since she was born and the most reckless person I've ever met. I have the right to yell at her!" He stood his ground and glared at Xenos.
Mariana felt bad for putting her doctor through so much trouble, but knew he had just crossed a line.

Xenos blinked. He had never met anyone who had stood their ground against him before. Not even Xenia,his grand-daughter could. The agitated demon growled again before sucker-punching the poor doctor into a wall.
"Don't talk to me like that scum..."
