Ah yes.

There's a Sophomore Oboe player with a God Complex in our band. She bosses me and the other UPPER CLASSMEN around. Then complains when she doesn't get senority over the under classmen.

She also constantly rags on my section for not doing stuff right. Her older sister was in my section before she graduated and I hated her too.

Gods I can't stand it.

yes... the other bass clarinet player. she is SO stupid. I've actually had day dreams of taking a knife and stabbing her to death! she can't march worth anything either, so its like AHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!

Let's see now...

Well, "Billy" was named section leader of the euphoniums this year. I was surprised, since he was a third-chair junior and I am first-chair senior (and have been section leader before, and wasn't that bad)... but I thought that the band director must have her reasons, so I let it slide and hoped for the best.

During band camp, I noticed things starting to go awry.

One day, it was freshman orientation, so band camp strted at 10:00AM instead of 8:00AM. Section leaders and people who hadn't passed off their music were supposed to be there at eight, but "Billy" didn't show up until ten, claiming he "forgot." The next day, he didn't show up AT ALL., claiming (the next day) that he had a dentist appointment. DENTIST APPOINTMENTS DON'T TAKE ALL DAY.

So, our director, Ms. Hall, called him into her office and berated him on his abysmal section leader duties. He was really, really pissed off, and started cursing at the freshmen when they made simple mistakes.

Later that night, he sent an email to all the euphoniums AND THEIR PARENTS. It stated that "Ms. Hall is an a**, and that she was wrong about bitching at me. Me of all people!" (These are actual pieces of the email, except I put time into correcting his grammar.)

"[Insert my name here] sucks at being section leader, and his parents are being dicks, because Ms. Hall told me that they were asking her every day why [insert my name here] isn't section leader. (This is a lie, my parents have not spoken to Ms. Hall. They were surprised, but had the same attitude as I did.)

"Well, I'm apparently a big [explicitive word, starting with an "f"] up, but I'm not going down without a fight, goddammit." Well, he was right about being a ********... and his email was a big ********, too.

One of the parents read it, and sent it to Ms. Hall, who sent it to the assistant pincipal. He was considered for suspension, but never was. (Little "Billy isn't too bright.) His section leader authority was taken away and we are now placed under the trombones, but he still acts like he owns the section and acts all sweet and cute. It's been over a month, and he still hasn't apologized to me or my parents for what he said, and he doesn't understand why I won't talk to him anymore.

I want to smash his face and his ego with my euphonium.

(Oops, I ranted.)

Alright alright alright. Time for my real rant.

There are a few select people in band that I absolutly cannot stand. Number one being out baritone leader/low brass lieutenant. He yells at my boyfriend constantly for goofing off, but when another said baritone does the same thing, he laughs about it. scream Dumb? It gets better.

Number two. Our senior piccolo player. I was in her section last year. This year, she has no control over me. I switched to mellophone. Anyways. I always set very decent angles for our diagonals. The rest of the line is fine, but she's always out of place and whining that I'm setting a bad angle. scream scream

Number three. When horn line/guard get yelled at to help pit. We help pit more than pit helps pit. They don't march around, busting their butts like we do. (our show is designed like a DCI show..our designer and director both marched Phantom Regiment, our percussion instructor marched Crossmen and Bridgemen, and our guard instructor is the director of Blackwatch) Pit never does anything other than complain, and it drives me up a wall. In DCI, pit moves themselves. That's the obligation of being in pit. evil evil scream scream

yes theres this girl and she is so anoying, theres always some thing wrong and she cant play or shes screwed up her baritone or shes not at practice. and she always ask me 'where i got my shirt' i awlays lie but shes so anoying.
and my section leader, he never took the time to learn my name i was 'hey you girl that plays tenor saxophone' or 'you on the other side of Byerly(hes the guy i stand next to).' and i m sorry but i think as section leader you should learn the people in you sectons names

theres one kid EVERYONE hates. a tuba player. hes a sophomore, stupid, a really really bad musician, thinks hes all that, like growls when he counts like an idiot and fakes injuries. oh and he fights with everyone. when we have freshmen here, we call them fish, and last year he said "fu** you" to a senior because he called him a fish... he starts fights at EVERY effing game, and thank god he failed cuz hes inelligible now... and last football game.. first football game in two years w/o him... EVERYONE got along. tuba/euph section has so much drama, but EVERYONE was having fun and getting along and SHARING bottles of water. UGH i hate him so much... everyones pleasure in life was when he ask this girl out and she laughed in his face... in front of the whole band!

and its not just me that dislikes him.. its everyone. i have to try to break up fights in the section cuz im in leadership and that's the section leader thing to do, but inside im egging it on. hell, sometimes i let it go on.

There's this one kid who insists on playing a note my whole section decided was pointless. We've tried to get him to stop, but he doesn't listen. And he's also really annoying.
