"Ye can always go out into the garden, Kero. If it gets too rough on ye." says Tam snuggling close. He closes his eyes and opens a tiny feeding trickle to the cub, while sending out hundred more into the village. Tiny flickers of hope in exchange for a small segment of their lives... a few minutes here... a few there... a taste of love, a pinch of despair... hopelessness iced with determination... an emotional smorgasbord, all his for the taking as long as he didn't over indulge.

*Kero shakes his head*
I need to dig, sira...have you any idea what it's like not to use these claws...*Hold up a paw and let's one of his huge claws slide out*
**They're actually not any bigger than a normal cat's claws...but Kero uses more of them...a normal lion only exposes about 60% of their claws...Kero and Hopian expose 90%...Kero's claws are a good three inches long**

Tam sighs. "We'll talk about it later, Kero. I'll come up with something. You'll see. Let me talk to Hope, I bet he can think of something ye can do without venturing too far out. How about sculpting? We can haul in some stone to the garden."

Tam rolls on his back laughing. "I can see it now... 'what a fine piece of work this is' says the fine gentleman... 'Oh indeed it is... carved it with me left hind toe, I did' says the cub..."

*Kero glares at him*
I could always just see how deep I can really tunnel, you know...

Tam chuckles ruefully, playfully batting at his chin with a paw. "Yeah, I guess ye could do that, but the deeper ye go in the greater the risks. What if yer so far under that when ye hit a pocket of gas, we don't sense it?"

Tam nods against him. "I thought ye might see the truth of that. So we'll try carving stone first. Consider it a challenge." He squirms up against the lion and sighs... "Yer a lot softer than the bed I had last night."

"I'm trying... I"m trying... ye'd think a fur coat would help, wouldnt ye..." he grumbles testily, yawning. "Here I am... wearing one and curled up against one... and still I'm cold to the bone." he sighs and then he giggles. "If Bez was here he'd say something to make me blush right about now."

Tam chuckles softly and shakes his head. "Sometimes that swedh of mine has only one thing on his mind... that's all... he'd merely offer to warm me up... and then proceed to do it."

If a red fox can get any redder, Tam does. "Let's change the subject, okay.... he's not here and well... yer a bit young..."
