I think it's confirmed it's 2.00, 2.01 is out right now. Though I heard someone say it killed their PS3. DOn't know what to say lol.
im sure that if there are issues with the current patchs Sony will have them fixed in a short time, after all, they want to keep us happy and buying Sony gear. That and errors happen, code is not simple, and I cant blame them for having a couple errors, I believe Msoft did something similar right around the time the red rings started to appear. Infact many blamed the patch for the ring, although they did have a patch at the time that killed a few 360's and had to be repatched with a fix.

I do have to agree with Mr. Si-Shen here. And if only one person has had any problems, then that means that Sony is overall on the right track.
Mr? makes me seem so formal eek
I dont think I have ever seen a game or any program for that matter, that has not had an error or a glitch in it, even the original NES Mario game had a glitch in it. In the end, the next patch or so should fix the issue, as no one at Sony wants this to become something that turns people off the system.

Well, it's not like I'm friends with anyone here, so I feel a certain amount of politeness is required... sweatdrop Sorry if you find it insulting...

I doubt I've seen any, either. Programming is not the easiest thing in the world to do. Most glitches, though, are hard to find and are relatively harmless to the games. It's when they start deleting save files, rewritting parts of the disc, or worse that people start freaking out and for good reason. Otherwise, if there's a wall that you attack with a certain action and get a certain amount of damage on it, and you fall through to the other side, saving you two minutes of walking distance... who cares?
I did not find it insulting, I just found it odd, ive never been refered to as Mr Si-Shen on here, thats all.

There are some glitchs that can be a problem, like ones that will ALWAYS freeze your game at a set point if you jump into its area, etc. Ive played a game that shipped broken, the day of its release the developer had to have a quick fix out, then had to put out an official fix within a week.

Ah, that's good. Yes, I have noticed a distressing lack of politeness on the internet...

Usually, you have to do something specific to get those to plague your game, though. Ones that are called to mind quickest include first season Pokemon, where once you found and caught Misingno, your game killed itself fairly quickly afterwards.

EDIT: Oh, I have heard of AC having sucha glitch. The one where you get two Altairs on screen does not let you play the ending level. It's easily remedied, though, as all the player must do is remove their second controller, which is definitely attached as no one has found a way to get that glitch without the other controller... so, yeah, harsh glitches like that are still pretty rare.

I'm sorry what?

Are you talking about them getting ported to the PC? If you are remember:

Microsoft is the publisher for GoW and Mass Effect. BUT they as of now don't own the rights to their sequels.

It's like this Ninja Gaiden II, is being published by Microsoft not Tecmo. But does Microsoft own Ninja Gaiden? No.

that in itself is an incorrect statement, MANY windows games run perfectly fine on other OS' such as Linux. The PC is not dedicated to Microsoft, nor do they make income from publishers that do not go through them. Unlike with the 360, they do not make income off of ever game sold for the PC, only a set amount of money for those that go the "Games for Windows" route or that they publish. Even games like Fable are not concidered exclusive, simply because the word deems that it is ONLY available for ONE system, by making it available for the PC, you loose the exclusivity.

I don't mind the informal nature of the net normally, what I mind are the rude people, those are the ones that ruin the experience. Normally I am refered to as Si or Shen, or in a more formal term, Si-Shen.

True enough, killer bugs tend to be rare indeed. I dont know if it was a glitch in just the save file but in Lego Star Wars the Complete Saga, I found my game freezing when I tried to free Han from the carbonite IF I used Leia, if I used Luke, it was fine. Its not a big glitch but its a killer. Most glitches, atleast on PC, tend to be fixed quickly. 3nodding

I think he was refering to the fact I said that a game like Gears of War is no longer exclusive due to its PC port because, he has declared that "Microsoft owns PCs" which is a false statement, Msoft does not own PCs nor do they make income from games that work on windows, unless they publish it or develope it.

OH. I can't say I blame him. I mean if you look at the media it's all PC and MAC. And hell even Apple seems to think that Windows is PC XD with those Mac vs PC commericals.

I mean if you REALLY wanted to go into it, a MAC IS a PC. They share the same thing, only difference is that Apple puts what they want in a MAC, which companies like Dell do, and you can't really upgrade them. Unless you wanted like RAM or hard drive.

yes and those ads are crap, because people are stupid and dont realize there are other options for PCs then Windows. Also, as I said before, Microsoft does not make money on games that sell on the PC unless they publish or develope them. If it was a system in the definition of consols, they would make cash no matter who put the game out on the system.

I don't meet too many deliberately rude people on the internet. Mostly, I just find trolls, and end up ignoring them. I suppose I'll stick to calling you Si-Shen, then, if I find the need to refer to you again. ^_^

That's because the PC can just download a patch from the internet. This is also why games, such as Oblivion, were able to be modded when on the PC, but couldn't be on the 360. It's only just recently that home consoles could connect to the internet at all. It used to be that if a game had a terrible glitch, then there wasn't anything anyone oould really do about it.
Our second controller is one of those Guitar Hero things, as my brother got the game around the same time I got AC. I don't know if I can still get the glitch, in truth, but I'm keeping mindful of it, and always disconnect the Guitar Hero guitar if it's connected.

Ok, t'will be fine to refer to me as such, so long as you dont call me "late for supper" or "that smelly guy" I will be ok rofl

Actually there was more behind the reason the 360 version of Oblivion cant be modded, its due to legal reasons really, coming straight from Bethesda, Microsoft would not permit the user created mods to be available for free, they would force a payment to have user-created mods available. This might be ok except the user would never see the money for each download AND its illigal to except money, ask for, or openly sell mods for Oblivion. This was a potential issue for Unreal Touriment as well, since they are really popular with user-created maps, but you cant chage for them. At E3 they commented that they were working out plans with Msoft so that the maps would be free of charge.
I do find that games on a PC get patched faster for issues however since the company can make the patch, upload it and have it ready the day of, where as there is a delay with any consol service from when the patch is complete, to uploading to downloading. 3nodding I mod my copy of Oblivion because I want more xd 3nodding

I wont have to worry about the controller for Guitar Hero, not a game I will ever play, although I just finished Uncharted: Drakes Fortune, so I shall not have issues with second controllers for the PS3 3nodding Well till the rumble controllers come out.
PostPosted: Mon Dec 03, 2007 5:02 am

"Late for Supper," eh..? twisted

Ah, so that's why so many were complaining about Microsoft back on the Bethesda forums when Oblivion first came out. I hadn't paid too much attention, because I never really got mods, anyway. I'm still used to games the oldfashioned way, I'm afraid: everything you find on the disc is what you've gotten. But it still is a pity that Microsoft is making it hard for developers to use the XBOX Live service the way they want to.

Haha, Guitar Hero is fun to watch. I'm tempted to just jump in on Expert mode and see how well I do.
I'm actually surprised to realize that I don't really miss rumble. I quite like the new Six Axis control, as it's less annoying when not being used than rumble is. I used to think that I missed rumble, but, really, all it would do is just make my controller rumble off its countertop during cutscenes or rumble out of my hands during heavy firefights in RPSes. I'd rather just keep my Six Axis controllers for now.

Yep, that was the issue with Oblivion on the 360, although 360 owners will say its better on the 360 in general, MANY people that have a PC and a 360 feel its better on the PC in general. Same goes for PS3 vs the PC. I believe the reason its so difficult is because Msoft does not wish to take on that cost and set up their entire network on the basis its a giant store. They almost treat it like "renting" the network space, where as many many PC sites host mods for free.

I dont really miss rumble either, I barely noticed that there wasnt any, and thats likely because I am such a big PC gamer and there is no rumble on it. Uncharted uses the motion sensing well actually, although only a couple areas, they implimented it really well.

I REALLY don't think so. Basicly because RE:UC was a side game for the Wii.

It's the companies way of saying "Sorry were not putting the main game on the console, but heres a side game enjoy"!

Soul Calibur Legends, Resident Evil:Umbrella Chornicles.

Also they would have to make there own light gun, TC4=Bandai Namco, RE:UC=Capcom.
