Alex turned his head and looked at Yukiko; the girl. . .hadn't said a thing since she got here. It was kindda. . .creepy. "You know, it's not good to stay that quiet. . .makes me think you hate being around me. . ."

"Wow, someones thinking happy thoughts arent they? Eh you could go on but im afraid youd eat me in the process!" shin said laughing a little bit, frowning as alex winced in pain "Yeah it is for you my friend, promise you kinda try to sleep though okay? And if you cant...well then look on the bright side, eventually youll pass out from exhaustion!" he said merrily a note of sarcasm in his voice, of course he didnt want that to happen but he felt playful.

It took her a second the realize he was talking to her. She just shook her head. "I don't hate being around you..." She seemed a little distracted for a moment then she gave him a slight smile.

"Yeah, I'd always imagined getting a good night's sleep by passing out. Yes, I promise to try and sleep, Mother," Alex said, the first part sarcastically, emphasis on the last word. He'd be very interested to see Shin's reaction, smirking a little bit. He looked at Yukiko again, seeing her small smile and returning it. "Good to know."

"Mother? What!" sticking his tongue out at alex "Well fine then if thats how you feel, would you like a kiss goodnight son of mine?" he said laughing, lex was funny, definetly hopped up on meds! Goodness, he didnt really mother hen him that much did he?
PostPosted: Sun Nov 11, 2007 10:40 am

"Hell no. Ask Yukiko to play with you if you want a kiss so badly," Alex retorted, sticking his tongue right back out at Shin. It was kind of fun! He felt like a little kid again, honestly. Except for the whole "possibly-dying" thing, he was having a blast.

"Heh I believe I will, and for using foul language I think were gonna leave to, so hah!" shin said laughing, walking up to alex and messing with the guys hair, it was time they let him sleep, even though he was having an awesome time he couldnt keep lex up forever.

It wasnt like theyd be going far either, no, there was no way shin was leaving the hospital until he was sure lex would be okay...Hed just step out for a little bit. "Come on kitty cat and sin sin, time to let sir fussy sleep" he chuckled giving lex a small hug before moving to snag kitty cat and sin. "Oh and lex, no trying to escape kay? Cause the moment you do ill know about it" smirking as he started to the door with the two girls.
PostPosted: Sun Nov 11, 2007 11:06 am

"You're leaving? Aw, damn. Now my whole world's gonna crash," Alex said sarcastically, sighing while Shin messed with his hair. He really didn't know how to react as Shin hugged him; the guy had been doing that a lot lately, but he honestly couldn't really blame him. "Yeah, yeah. I won't escape. At least, not anytime soon."
Yuri cautiously walked into the hospital, glancing down the hall that led further into the hospital; to Alex's room. Shaking her head to clear her head, she walked up to the receptionist's desk and asked for the room she needed, thanking the person when she got it, and making her way there.

"Che I feel loved lex!" beaming, as he sighed and nodded "Good, not like I think you could but its nice to hear you say it" shin turning and leaving along with sin and yuki, maybe they could head out front to where all the trees and grass and stuff were and just talk for awhile, he would like that.

Shins mood only heightening as he and the others passed by yuri in the hallway on their way out. "Hey princess, your prince is waiting for you" he said giving her a soft smile as he motioned the way to lexs room, not to far from there. He and his little group of friends finally leaving.
PostPosted: Sun Nov 11, 2007 11:31 am

Yuri watched the trio, returning Shin's smile as she walked in the direction he'd motioned. She hoped, she truly hoped that Alex was alright; she honestly didn't know what she would do if he wasn't alright. Cautiously, she peeked into the room. And, sure enough, there was Alex, just as she'd been told.
Alex winced as another burning pain shot through his body, carefully sitting up and adjusting the pillows behind him so he could lean on them and still be up. He took to staring out of the window, the night sky making him feel a little calm about the whole situation; it was. . .kind of frightening, being here and suffering so much. All because of something that had happened about a century again.
Alex wasn't sleeping; he was just sitting there, staring out at the window, apparently looking out at the night sky. Seeing him wearing an oxygen mask and connected to a hear-rate monitor was scary. ". . .Alex?" she cautiously asked, stepping inside the room until she was about half-way to him.
Alex jumped a little, quickly turning his head in the direction he'd heard the all-too-familiar voice; Yuri was there, standing near the doorway. Someone had probably told her he was here. Quietly cursing to himself, he sat up a little and shifted so that he was sitting on the edge of the bed, his legs hanging over the edge and his feet flat on the ground. He probably would have taken the mask off, but it was a little difficult to breathe. "H-Hey. . ."
Yuri looked at Alex, almost as if he wasn't really there. Without thinking, she ran over to him, hugging him as tight as she dared, tears streaming down from her eyes at an unstoppable rate. She didn't care if she seemed selfish; she'd just been so scared! She never wanted to have to give up Alex, whether to some other person or even to death itself. It was alright to want something to be only yours forever, right?
Alex couldn't help but wince a little, squeezing his eyes tightly against the pain before he managed to open them again; she'd hugged him so suddenly and he hadn't been prepared for it. He was definitely NOT prepared when she cried! He'd honestly never seen Yuri truly cry before. Ignoring his own pain, he wrapped his arms around the girl and held her closely, letting her cry; it wasn't right to have kept her in the dark for so long. ". . .I'm sorry," he said quietly. And he meant it, he truly meant it. His guilt was getting him now.
Yuri buried her face in Alex's chest, basically sitting on his lap now after being pulled into his embrace. It was warm. . .it was really warm! Yet she'd seen him wince, which led her to believe that he was hurting. But how much, she would never know; that fact hurt the most, sending a thicker stream of tears down her face. She didn't want him to be sorry. She was the one being selfish! All she wanted was for Alex to be alright; for him to maybe even share his pain with her. She was more than willing, after all, slightly tightening her embrace around him.
Alex shut his eyes again at the small burst of pain through his body. Yet he would deal with it. For her sake. He'd done enough, keeping her from knowing. He put his right hand behind Yuri's head, carefully so he wouldn't bother her. He bit down as the pain got worse, yet he would deal with it. He'd hidden things from Roan, Cody, Sasha. . .Sin, Denkou. . .even from Tohru and Shin, the two people he could trust the most, even if just a little. And now, he'd tried to hide his suffering from Yuri. Was she not the most important person in his life? Was she not the one, single person that he could go to when all his problems built up or got worse? This knowledge hurt, and he held her tightly against him. "I'm really. . .sorry. . ."
"I. . .I don't want you to die," Yuri said quietly. She took her arms from around her husband and simply rested her hands on his chest, curled into small little fists. Hadn't Alex once mentioned that it was okay to be selfish once in a while? Then she would be. Right now. She considered Alex as "hers" but not as an object, definitely. She wouldn't let him go so easily, though. Not even Death could have him. "I. . .want to stay with you. . .forever. . ." The tears weren't flowing as much anymore, yet they were still there, silently streaming.
Alex's eyes widened a little at what he heard; he'd just barely caught it. That quiet, soft voice that he always liked. . .he'd just barely heard it. He could feel his body shaking, carefully reaching back and pulling on the little bow that kept his mask on, undoing it and taking the thing off; he could manage. He could definitely manage.
Yuri looked up quickly at Alex, watching as he took off his oxygen mask; was it a good idea? Yet he didn't seem to mind. And. . .he was shaking! She'd only ever felt him shaking when he'd woken up from one of his nightmares. Even then, it was rare.
Alex looked down at Yuri, smiling a small, almost sad smile. He carefully reached and put a finger under her chin with his right hand, gently lifting her head up so that the two's eyes met. He smiled a little more before he bent down slightly and pressed his lips against hers, giving the girl a soft kiss that she definitely deserved; he'd been an idiot. He'd thought that she wouldn't worry if he didn't tell her, that she would never find out. But, as usual, she'd managed to prove him wrong. He closed his eyes as he kissed her, feeling his face warm up just a little bit but he didn't care; if he'd gone and died, he wouldn't have just left her. He'd had left behind a child as well. Why he didn't realize this sooner was beyond him but now. . .now he had more reasons to keep on living. He'd live. . .for her sake.
Yuri's eyes widened a little bit; this kiss. . .had been sudden. The boy had definitely gotten bolder in the four years that they'd been together. Yet, as she closed her eyes, she realized. . .that she was truly happy. She'd never been able to remember what true happiness was but now she was sure that she knew. Alex was shaking still, and he even felt a little warm. She guessed that he was blushing again and she wanted to laugh. But laughing would break them apart, something she wasn't so sure she wanted to happen just yet.
Alex broke away later, whether a minute or an hour, he couldn't tell. It seemed ages, though, before he finally did. And every second of it, he had enjoyed. He opened his eyes and looked down at the girl, who was looking at him as well. He couldn't help but smile at her; she was just way too cute. Yet reality hit him as his awful pain acted up, a little seriously. He winced horribly, shutting his eyes and squeezing them tight, realizing now that he'd been an idiot to think he could distract something so awful with something so lovely, no matter what he wanted; life just didn't happen that way. He needed to take his medicine, he knew that. But he didn't want to let go of Yuri, either!
Yuri looked up at Alex with concern, wishing more than anything she could help. He was in so much pain, but she couldn't do anything! Small trickles of tears falling from her face, she glanced around the room, spotting a single medicine bottle on the bedside table with the single letter 'X' on it. Figuring this might be it, she reached over and grabbed it, examining it for directions or anything before she held it up to Alex, wanting confirmation on whether this was what he needed or not.
Alex looked at Yuri carefully, one eye opened as he smiled slightly, starting to pant a little. He bit down hard on his tongue as another burning pain was sent through his body. Shaking a little, he recovered and carefully took the medicine bottle from Yuri, opening it up a little quickly and dumping out a single pill, quickly closing it back up and putting the pill in his mouth, chewing it. He swallowed, ignoring the bitter taste of it as he let it work. However, a burst of pain shot through his body again and he dropped the medicine bottle, shaking as he wrapped his arms around himself, holding onto his arms, mostly, tightly. It hurt. . .it hurt so much! "s**t. . .it won't go away," he said quietly, shakily.
Yuri put her hands over her mouth, utterly speechless; it was so cruel! It wasn't fair for Alex to be suffering so much. It's not like he'd ever done anything wrong. "Just. . .just lie down, okay? And. . .I'll get--" she was cut short when her husband let out a small grunt of pain. Tears formed in her eyes again, but she quickly wiped them away; now wasn't the time to cry. "I'll get a nurse or a doctor," she said, a little more firmly than before as she stood up and helped Alex lay down in the bed, covering him up so he wouldn't be cold. Then she made for the door, determined to find someone who could help.
Alex let Yuri do what she wanted, curling up a little in the bed. Yet as he watched Yuri start to walk away, his eyes widened a little bit; this. . .wasn't what he wanted! Before he knew it, he reached out for her, grabbed her hand and holding her back; he didn't want her to leave. He wanted her to stay for as long as possible.
Yuri stopped in her tracks, feeling the sudden grab. She turned and faced Alex, a little disbelievingly; even in his pain, he wasn't rejecting her. Somehow, that made her feel happy beyond belief, smiling softly as she simply turned around and kept her hand in his, grabbing a nearby chair and pulling it up to the bed's side, sitting in it and staying where she was; if she could help, then she would take that chance and help.
Alex smiled a little, his eyelids starting to feel heavy as he carefully relaxed, closing his eyes; he could still feel the pain, his free arm still wrapped around himself. But somehow. . .it felt easier to handle when Yuri was with him. His breathing deepened and he carefully fell asleep.
Yuri watched as Alex fell asleep, quickly grabbing Alex's hand as it fell and holding it in both of hers; she didn't want to lose him ever. He was way too good to lose. Daring to let go, she set Alex's hand down on the bed before grabbing the clear plastic mask that he'd had on earlier, gently putting it back on so he wouldn't struggle so much. She moved a piece of his hair out of his face, giving him a soft kiss on his forehead before she simply sat there, watching over the man she loved.

Yuri slowly opened her eyes, blinking a little and trying to make sense of things. Then, it hit her; she'd dozed off after the few signs of exhaustion hit her. Yawning a little, she stretched and rubbed her eyes, then looked at Alex, sleeping peacefully on his bed. The only sound in the room was the faint beeping that the heart-rate monitor seemed to provide. As she glanced at it, she couldn't help but let out a sigh of relief, seeing it was normal. Yet it definitely couldn't be nothing if he was even here in the first place. She eyed the clipboard on the end of the bed, debating with herself on whether she wanted to know or not. Curiousity got the better of her as got up from the chair and walked over to the object, gently prying it from its mount and examining the doctor's notes.

This. . .this was just too cruel. The more she read, the more she found it harder and harder to keep calm, her heart beginning to race from the knowledge. The little relief the medication notes that whatever doctor had made was no where close to outmatching the despair she was beginning to feel. Not only that. . .but she was also beginning to feel a little angry; it wasn't right at all! How could someone suffer so much in his life? It just wasn't fair at all. With shaking hands, she gently replaced the clipboard, though she missed the first time and hastily picked it up after the loud noise it made from crashing onto the floor.

"Well, well. If it isn't another visitor. Alex sure is well-liked, huh?" Sylvia peeked into the room, a smile on her face as she walked in, a pen sticking out of the front pocket of her doctor's coat. "I'm rather surprised. He's a bit anti-social. But apparently, even he has the power to attract others." Laughing a little to herself, the doctor knelt down by the bed in front of Alex, questioningly looking at the way he was positioned but thought nothing of it as she carefully took out a needle and attached it to a syringe like earlier, injecting it into Alex's skin and drawing out another blood sample; she thought she saw the boy wince, but simply shrugged it off. "Let's see if that medicine is helping any. At the very least, his body should have been able to create at least a few antibodies to fend off that parasite." She carefully took it out, cleaning off the needle so blood wouldn't drip off its tip. She carefully held it so it wouldn't cause ay harm.
"He's going to be fine, right?" Yuri asked, looking at Sylvia, wanting at least a little hope for the situation.
"Yes, he'll be fine. But while we're doing what we can, he also has a role to play. He won't survive unless he wants to, though I don't doubt that." Sylvia grinned a little before she headed to the door. "I'm off, then. If he wakes up, make sure he doesn't try to escape." And the she left.
Yuri waved as the doctor left before she sighed and sat on the end of the bed, leaning back on her hands and humming a small tune to herself. Then she glanced at Alex, a pleasant smile on her face. "You're awake, huh?" she asked.
"Nngh. What gave that away?" the boy mumbled, shivering before he opened his eyes a little, turning his gaze on Yuri.
"The fact that you winced when she injected that needle. Did it really hurt that much?" Yuri asked, looking at Alex curiously.
"Consider I'm being eaten alive at the same time, yes. It did," Alex answered a little flatly. He rolled over onto his back and let a small gasp of pain escape him as he did, gritting his teeth together and kept quiet after that for a minute or so.
"If you need your medicine, it's right here," Yuri answered, holding up said bottle of medicine. She opened it up and dumped out one of the large pills, handing it over to Alex before she closed up the bottle.
Alex gratefully took the large pill--was it really a pill? The thing was huge!--and put it in his mouth, chewed, and shuddered; this bitter taste was something he would NEVER be able to get used to. He waited for another few minutes or so for the thing to work before he eventually sat up in the bed and detached himself from the heart-rate monitor.
"What're you doing?" Yuri asked, startled by his actions; he didn't honestly plan on leaving, did he?
"Leaving," Alex replied, setting the wires aside on the ground. Then he removed the mask he was wearing and put it back over to where it belonged.
"Are you serious?" Yuri watched the boy, disbelieving yet having her thoughts confirmed.
"Well, I don't honestly plan on staying here that long." Alex took a couple breaths of natural oxygen before he attempted to stand up from the bed. At first, he was a little shaky; a day of lying in bed seemed to affect him more than he expected. Not that it mattered.
"But you can barely stand!"
"I was in a bed for a day."
"And what will you do if you suddenly get attacked by that parasite?"
"I'll take my medicine with me. And I'm attacked constantly, anyway." Alex grinned, taking pleasure in the fact that she'd lost their little argument. Of course, he was glad that she cared. But he couldn't stand staying still for too long. After managing to get a better feel for standing up again, he walked over to Yuri and gave her a soft kiss on the top of her head. "I'll be fine, alright?" Without another word, he took off out of the room, glad that he didn't meet any nurses on his way out; oh, he'd definitely come back. But he'd sneak away for the night.
Yuri couldn't help but sigh; this was the man she loved. Restless as always. Sighing a little to herself, she stood up from the bed and left the room not long after Alex, humming a song to herself as she walked down the hall after Alex.
Alex stopped quickly and hid when he spotted Shin and everyone; the odds of them ever letting him leave the hospital in his current state were next-to-none. When he'd been seriously injured by Dairen, that was a different story; it's not like he would've let them keep him. Well, he wouldn't let them stop him now. . .but somehow, he didn't think they'd be so forgiving now, especially now. He hadn't exactly known the for that long back then.
"Looking for a way to escape?" Yuri asked, stopping by Alex once she reached him; the man just about jumped out of his skin and she couldn't help but laugh a little. "I'll distract them if you want me to."
"You. . .you are so not Yuri," Alex said shakily; she was actually offering to help! Normally, she'd make him sit and stay put. But no. . .not this time. He smiled, a little glad that she would help; maybe he'd spend his free time with her. "Could you, then?"
"Sure." Yuri returned his smile before she left him alone in his hiding spot, walking up to Shin and everyone. "Mm. . .so how're you guys doing tonight?" she asked.

Shin turned a little realizng yuri was talking to them "Eh, were doing fine, did hubby fall asleep finally then?" he asked smiling at her, it was weird that she would even leave the room, but hed seen that doctor sylvia lady so that kinda made sense. Lex was probably out by now.

Yukiko looked at Yuri. She had that certian look on her face. The kind of look that a mother gave her child when she knew the child was hiding something. She crossed her arms and circled Yuri. "I have a dog's sense of smell. What's he doing?"
PostPosted: Mon Nov 12, 2007 4:01 pm

"Yup. He did. He's so cute when he's sleeping," Yuri smiled, laughing a little. She didn't dare look back where Alex was, simply focusing on her task. "The doctor came in and took a blood sample. Something about checking to see if his medicine is working." She looked at Yukiko curiously, but she still kept her smile. "He's just sleeping."
Alex let a small sigh of relief out, edging away from the scene; he didn't want to worry his friends anymore, but if he had to pick between sitting in a hospital bed with nothing to do and lengthening his life, and going out and exploring the world while shortening his life, he'd have to pick the former. He felt something suddenly appear on his shoulder, looking to see a bright little blue sprite there, smiling a little; so Yuri wasn't going to let him have too much freedom, huh? "Heh, if you can keep a secret, you can come," he said quietly to the sprite, before he turned away from his friends and took off.

"Mmm-hmmm... And if someone were to walk into that room we'd see him asleep in bed?" Stopping in front of Yuri, she slightly looked up trying to make eye-contact with her.
