Shaynadorf http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a352/thequeenofgreen/guard.jpg I guess they're not THAT bad. but they're bad. our guard has the same design--black on the bottom, but its white, like satin-ish on the top. (fortunately the marching band itself doesnt follow that scheme. whee ) and the "smurfs" gave me a little laugh--no offense. ^^;;;

I need to find a picture of my uniform, I'm a person that holds one of the signs in front of the band. I can't find a picture but they where sparkly vests with these black pants that zip up in the back. We had to wear spandex under them.

ours aren't like super ugly or anything but theyre SUPER short. they're like sparkly leotards (red and black and silver) with mesh for the arms and back and velvet on the crotch and skirt and the skirt is about 6 inches long from waist to hem. sad
edit}} must be nice to get new uniforms more than once every 5 years. And to have a winter guard. (tiny school= we buy our own unis= we never get new ones so as a senior im wearin a leotard that fit perfectly when I was in the 8th grade=domination wedgies and cameltoes. )

*ahem* oh geez, bad uniforms seem to follow me and this is only my 2nd year in winterguard. Last year I was in JV guard and well...  I'm not sure if I'm allowed to post our outfits this year or not, but even a picture wouldnt be able to show how difficult it is to get into these uniforms!!! There is nothing else like it, no liiiie! and I love the uniforms themselves I just HATE putting them on Oh, there is a tight turtle neck we have to budge through, and a unitard that has buttons AT THE BOTTOM, along with blue rights and another set of pants OVER those, and to top it all off, a 10 ft long SASH wrapped around us. Imagine the pain of getting out of all that when you have to use the bathroom! xD

Colored spandex is usually a bad idea for aesthetics, for if you've anyone that's not "perfectly proportioned", you can look horrific. rolleyes (I saw a band last year in red, white, and blue spandex and about died of laughter...felt bad about laughing, but it was so hard not to...LOL)

One of our instructors is an amazing designer. Our uniforms are pretty funky but they're cool xD.
Now the A guard uniforms, AMAZING.

Hey, the Jekyll and Hyde ones aren't all that bad.... I like them 3nodding (Maybe it helps that Jekyll and Hyde is my all time fav musical.....) Spam20234 Spam20234 shoot, i tell you what: freshman year: jekyll and hyde, wasn't too bad winterguard: she's out of my life by michael jackson. EW. we had maroon dresses that had turtle like neck, but no sleeves. they went down to the ground, but they had slits up to the crotch. you could see everybody's sweet nothings. it was bad. sophomore year: swan lake. i still have nightmares.  winterguard: isn't happening this year. i'm so depressed about that. we lost our instructor over the summer, had a temp for swan lake, and the band directors are too lazy to get us a freaking instructor. dug them up: jekyll and hyde-  winterguard-

Wow. Now my uniforms don't seem so bad lol. For this Winter Guard season, we had these turtle neck sleeveless leotards that had the fun little crotch snaps, which we then slid a skirt over. The skirt was black and sparkly (the leotard was just black) and the material was really uncomfortable. However, we think that the skirt was intended to be a halter top thing, but we fashioned them into skirts because our coach thought it would be undignified if we wore short dresses. But we get new uniforms every year, and it gets really expensive!! This season's uniform is going to cost me almost $200. That's with the outfit and shoes. FREAKING CRAZY. Our school pays for our Color Guard uniforms, but not our Winter Guard uniforms. I don't get it. =[

Oh my word. I love James Logan. If you've winter guard this past season i probably saw you at the Power Regional two weeks ago. James Logan's shows were amazzingg. i love them.

I don't care how ugly you colorguard girls think you're uniforms are, marching uniforms kick all of your asses. Try wearing bibbers. You can't bend over at all, so you had better have your shoes tied before you put on the pants. Not to mention they often give you a p***s bulge in the front. Then the jacket is hot as hell, and usually lined with some sort of plastic feeling thing. Then, you can't get out of them by yourself. You ahve to have someone undress you! It's way worse than any of the spandex crap you guys have to wear.

At least you band people get some semblance of warmth from your uniforms. Try wearing a guard uniform when it's freezing outside. MISERABLE. And most of the time the guard needs help getting their uniforms on, too. Zippers in the back that are often very stubborn. Gah.
No matter how good the uniform design is for guard, chances are it still looks like poo on people who have a bit of weight to them. I was one of those people, so I always looked bad. It sucked. The uniforms were cool looking, but... *shudders*
