[[Yup, good post Metzli, especially after the lack of postage (although i know you had your reasons) 3nodding ]]
Alex looked at Mizuki, silently thrilled to see him. He also smiled at Nicholas's joke. Although his smile faded as he looked back to Eri. He was still holding the pills and the water. He was planning on giving her the vaccine after she ate something. He didn't know why, he had just remembered that his mother used to give him medicine and say 'It works better on a full stomach...' Although for all he knew this could just be a lie to get him to eat when he's sick... The last thing Alex had on his mind, despite what Nikita might think, was 'getting into Eri's pants...'
David and Sarah just watched as Kalila made a mad dash. By the time she had ducked under the couter they had reached the end of an aisle.
David watched as Kalila ducked, and he wondered why.
Sarah saw why and put her hand to her husband's chest, stopping his movement. Sarah could see the infected, although she was pretty sure he couldn't see her. She was looking through a small hole in the aisle to her side.
David knew from Sarah's gesture there was probably an infected. Which meant he had an idea... It was the same idea he had employed earlier with the coke cans. He grabbed the nearest thing to him, which was an apple. He worked his way past his wife and scoped out a good point...
Sarah knew what he was doing and was ready to go get Kalila.
David tossed the apple overhead, and sideways. It flew over Sarah and David, over Kalila, and clear to the other side of the store.
The infected seemed to have noticed the movement and was looking around for more. Then the apple hit the ground on the other side of the store. SPLAT!
The infected looked in that direction, ready to check out the noise, when David side-stepped out of the aisle. He held one uzie, keeping his arm straight and one eye shut. He was aiming directly at the infected's head. After about one and a half seconds of aiming, David pulled the trigger. The infected recoiled as one bullet passed through the base of his neck, then a second went right between his eyes. It fell over limp, the silencers on David's gun attracting little attention.
Sarah dashed for Kalila. Reaching her quickly. Sarah offered Kalila a hand up, figuring her legs were probably exausted from running all the time. Sarah looked at the bags... she'd get them after they sealed the front doors.
David finally made it over to Kalila and Sarah. He was running the conversation Kalila had made through his brain. "Um... Kalila..." He said, remembering how she said 'At least before the power goes out.' Or something to that affect. "Wal-marts, all of them, have a generator... It has about a month, maybe two months worth of power..." He said, smiling. It was always kept in a room in the back, kept locked unless needing to be repaired. There was no chance an infected had harmed it, and it was a different room than the truck had smashed into. The generator would automatically pick up power after the default power systems failed.
Sarah also smiled. "And don't worry about food, my husthband is a masther chef!" she said the lisp still irritating her.
David flexed his muscle, showing off that he didn't just have brains, he also had TALENT! He was much better at cooking than his wife. Although through the jokes, David still kept an eye out for infected. "Well, we better get to sealing up the doors..." He said, his signiture smile still on his face.

[[Yay! Metzli is back! ^^ lol silly to say, but I miss people when they're gone.. ^^;;]]

Eri looked up at Alex, staring at him like a foreign object. "Uh....?" She said, looking to the food. "...." She inwardly sighed. She looked up at the pills, taking them, and the water. She looked To Mizuki now. She had just noticed his presence. "Mizuki?" She said, a slight smile on her face. "Hi there...!" She said, as if nothing was wrong, all was good. She looked at the pills, and She put them in her mouth reluctantly, her automatic reaction to spit them out, but this was not the time or place to be playing around like that. She took a swig of water and swallowed the pills, taking another drink to drain the pills down. She was extremely thirsty, but knew guzzling the water wouldn't be appreciated with the others.
She sighed and wiped her forehead. God, she felt so gross... Why is she sick? This is so lame! She frowned slightly, but as she spaced, her expression lightened. The pills made her feel light. Did they have codine in them? Or was it just her lack of immunity making her tired....? She Stared at her feet like a little kid, then noticed. Why was Alex all tense when giving her the pills?
She looked at his pocket. "..... What is in your pocket Alex?" She said, pointing to it, staring at him. She was still hungry... maybe he was tense about that? Would he shoot her if she snatched to quickly...? She shook her head. "Never mind. Um..." She looked at the food then to him. "...Since I took the pills.... can I have the protein bar...?" She stared at him. She really had gotten pale. If she wasn't talking you'd think she was dead. But then again, she kind of was, wasn't she......? She only needed a small taste of blood, and she was sure she'd turn. Luckily no one was bleeding other than Sarah. She suddenly perked up slightly. Mizuki... Mizuki's here, right? Why does no one act he is infected? I mean, he BROKE the door. He ran off, and he comes back looking like a tomato. But they don't act like it with him with the cautious movements and stares, they acted like he was completely normal..! She sighed, then shook her head. She wouldn't spite him. It's not his fault he got infected. I mean, who could be blamed for that?
She stood herself up shakily, an awkward tilt in the way she stood. She had an 'infected hunch.' She adjusted herself, forcing herself to stand up straight.

[[so far as Eri knows, only a few people knew he was infected, so she's ranting about how they don't act like they're gonna kill him lol (Some were getting on my back about it... ) Again, just Eri's Point of view.]]

She noticed the zombies before Nina waved, so she was already jumping toward them. Not bothering to be quiet, she stopped right in front of the zombie, keeping a yard between them. The zombie to her right began to lunge towards her, but with a quick slash, she had his head rolling. In the same move, she twisted around, and the other zombie's head went flying. The latter landed right in front of Nina.

"Sorry about that."

She examined her swords, and with a disgusted face looked for something to clean them. Although Crimson was not a girly girl, she did pride herself on keeping clean and efficent weaponary, even if it was a little blood that spoiled her swords glean.

"So, are we going to start loading up?"

He was so stunned by the frantic pace in which the kids were battling the infected, Terry almost forgot his part in all of this. He raised his sniper, adjusted the scope, checked the wind, adjusted again, and took aim. Training to use a sniper wasn't exactly an important aspect of being a medic, but he learned anyway, better safe than sorry his instructer would say. An infected began running ,bashing on the pavement, at Garath, through his scope he could see the corroded, half swollen face, snarling violently, thirsting for blood, particularly Garath's. Disgusting what this virus does to people, good or bad he thought to himself as positioned his scope on what was left of its head. Terry took a deep breath, and squeezed the trigger until the handle softly clanged and stopped it. He was trained to get used to the recoil, but you never really got used to the loud clap of the sniper (even with the built in supressor) and the vicious kick-back. None-the-less the bullet connected with its target and the head virtually exploded, like a watermelon he thought, as that was what they used for practice. He continued to fend off the hoard as best he could reloading periodically, cursing himself for every mistake he made, for it could cost one of those kids their life, and technically they were his responsibility. He heard the low wail of something in distance again. What the hell is that? He thought subconciously as he kept firing.

Alex stood up too, walking over and handing the protien bar to her. He started to walk back when he accidentally slipped on some spilled blood of an infected. He landed hard onto the ground. Normally this wouldn't have stopped him very much. But this time wasn't normal, he had a syringe in his pocket this time. He cringed his teeth, feeling the syringe stab into his leg. Apparently the protective guard that would normally keep it from stabbing him fell off. Reaching into his pocket quickly he pulled the syringe out. It was now in plain view by everybody, even Eri. He looked at the needle. He had accidentally injected some of the liquid. He began to think. He knew what his mom said it did to partial infecties, but what did it do to non-infecties. He soon found his answer as undescribable pain shot through his right thigh. He held his thigh tightly as the horrible twisting, burning sensation throbbed. It was slowly spreading through his body untill finally his entire body felt white hot. Unlike a normal infectie, he actually had an immune system, trying to fight back against the vaccine. His face was red, and he probably had a horrible fever. His breathing was spurratic, and he couldn't get it under control. The pain was all he could think about. He was clenching his teeth so hard that you could swear they would shatter any second. All of his muscles, especially around the area where he got stabbed, were tensing up. What would the vaccine do to him. Would he become a partial infectie. Would he become a full infectie... Would anything happen at all. All he could think about was the pain. It was slowly dying down, but VERY slowly. He wasn't sure how much more of it he could take.

Eri blinked when he suddenly fell, then her eyes went wide when he pulled the needle out. "...!" She stared at it, then to him, right when he began writhing on the ground. "...." Was he planning to get her with that? "Alex...?" She said quietly, going near him. As she got closer her body was fighting to get away, her phobia of needles enveloping her common sense with a blanket of fear. "...U-Um... A..A...Alex..." She said, stopping about arms length away from him. "Are... You... Okay...?" She said, her body shaking more with each word, her body fighting not to run away. She reached out, but her gaze found the needle and her hand snapped away so fast that she almost pulled her arm out of socket. She had wide eyes. Why couldn't she get near him? Over a simple needle...? She stared at it. "...." Suddenly her arm reached out and picked it up. She stared at it, then stared at her vein. "....." She stared for what seemed like forever, then stabbed herself in the side of her neck, injecting it and her eyes going wide. "...." She got a funny feeling throughout her entire body. "...?" She looked around, everything was distorted. She pulled out the needle, then stared at it, her eyes fighting to keep her awake, but she soon fell sideways, falling unconscious, her eyes closing.

Alex's eyes went wide as Eri stabbed herself with the needle. As she fell unconcious he completely forgot about the pain. She started to fall over sideways and he lunged for her. He caught her just before he hit the ground. He hugged her close, taking her arm and making sure her heart was still beating. It was, very fast and uneaven. He hugged her close, the pain in his body coming back. It was much less then before and slowly dissapating. He didn't care. He needed to think, what were the signs it worked and didn't work? He put his hand to her forehead. She was getting a fever. That meant it worked right? After a couple of minutes of worry, her face started to gain color. The vaccine worked!! Alex hugged her close. He looked at the others and smiled. He was happy. He stood up, holding Eri with one arm. In his other hand he was holding his smith & wesson. He was ready. He knew that she was temporarilly un-infected, but she still had pneumonia. He took off his shirt, folding it on the ground. He laid her down, resting her head on the make-shift pillow. It didn't bother him any. He stood there, tense, ready to shoot the nearest infected. First, he would hesitate to make sure it was infected.

((Sorry! I don't mean to leave you behind Dongaro... Not much happened I promise!))

Jain made her way down to the second platform all the while looking over at Nina, Garath, and Crimson. Crimson was not in her sight anymore. She had run off down an ally way to in an attacking stance. She went off in the same direction Nina had immediately went into stealth mode after looking. Jain wondered if Crimson had any idea that Nina was going for stealth. She adjusted the bag to where the strap was on one shoulder and the bag itself was on her opposite hip. It was heavy and she did not want it bothering her as she climbed down. Jain climbed down from the ladder, stopped three-fourths of the way there, and jumped off. She had seen Nina's reaction to the ladder's temperature. Her ankles gave a painful pang as she landed, not as majestically as one of her swords training should have landed. The bag's extra weight, combined with the height was the cause.
Jain gagged a little as the smell of cooking flesh attacked her from all around. The gross part was that it reminded her a bit of cooked pork... That is, if it were rotting. She put the back of her wrist over her nose and mouth and ran through the gap Nina had made in the flames. She stopped suddenly a few steps before the place where she could be seen from the ally way. She peeked around. At the same moment, an infected's head came flying out of the ally and landed in front of Nina. Jain quickly clamped a hand over her mouth to keep from screaming. She hadn't expected that. Further observation proved it to Crimson's fighting that made such occur, to her relief. She had been so sure Nina was about to be a goner. She hadn't been concentrating hard enough to see that it was just a head. She didn't have a weapon out at the moment, for she was no good with the shotgun (She could not take the recoil) and the ax was just too bulky for her taste. She much more preferred blades. Therefore, now that she looked back on the situation, if Nina had been in trouble she would have been completely unprepared. She quickly took out a short blade from the duffle bag, yet carefully as to not cut herself. She lucked out with a Sai dagger. She looked once more to make sure there was no danger and ran to the truck.

Nina watched as Crimson took out the infected instead of making a stealthy escape. Well... It gets the job done the same... Nina thought with a shrug. However, Nina really did not like the idea of fighting unnecessarily, especially Crimson's fighting style. Crimson fought very close to infected, with a lot of ripping open. There was a major problem with that: there was always the risk of their saliva or blood getting into her one way or another. Nina' thought subsided as a quick moving object caught her attention. Her rapier was out in a defensive stance before it landed. As it did, however, she looked at the ground and blinked. She lifted a brow at Crimson and received an apology.
Nina observed the girl's disgust at the blood on her blades and the way she searched for something to clean it.
"Good idea... The less blood you track near us, the lower chances of infection." Nina said with a nod. "But..." She gave a nervous smile, "I don't have anything you can wipe them off with." Crimson continued, asking a question.
"Yeah... We're loading up." Nina answered. "That's why I was trying to get you over here. Go ahead and get in, you too Jain. The other guys gotta get down her and then we're off." She said opening the door for Garath, Jain, and Crimson. "I'm guessing Terry's driving."

Garath entered the door as soon as it was opened. it wasn't that he was scarred he simply wanted to get out of here as soon as possible. Too many zombies in too open an area. The jeep was fairly spacious and he was glad he had grabbed a back seat. He was still curious as to what was making thaqt deep noise but there were more pressing things to consider. "And as much as I liked staying at your place I can't say I'm going to miss the neighbourhood. The neighbors are a bit too rowdy."

Mizuki looked at all of them sat there on the ground and offered a small smile. It was the best he could do. His mind was racing with his own issues. He knew, in light of the situation, he was being selfish. But to be fair, he couldn't give a ********.
He needed to mull things over and get them straight in his own mind before he would be of any coherant help to anymore. For the moment, he decided, he would simply have to push all concerns to the back of his mind and see how things played out. After all - his wounds weren't causing him any greviance. For all he knew all the exercise he was getting lately and all the stretching had desensitised him to the pain. Perhaps due to greater concerns of potential disembowlment and slow painful death by mauling he simply wasn't noticing the smaller, relatively insignificant discomforts. His wound would probably just take its time to heal and all would be well.
After all - as a wiseman once said; "All pain is relative."
If he should be focusing on anything, it should be on getting enough food to keep him stable and to look after the rest of the group.

As Nicholas mentioned Mizuki running off, he offered a slightly awkward grin and raised his shotgun as if this alone would inspire understanding.
"Ran out of ammo." Mizuki added in response to the blank and neutral faces. "I could take a couple out without - But I wasn't sure how many else were coming or how many we might have to face later on."
And this was the part where he bent the truth a little.
"I remember dropping my bag near the start. I figured that I'd be better off without the weight in the initial scout out. Just incase I needed to run you know, I just forgot about it until the time came when I actually needed the ******** thing."
His voice was level and convincing. After all, hadn't he returned with his bag? They should have no reason what so ever to disbelieve the story. And Mizuki was aware that he was scoring points for the whole 'I am not actually infected' campaign. After all, if he'd been out of the loop when he'd charged into this place - surely he wouldn't have recalled dropping his bag at all.
As Mizuki looked at Nicholas and felt that familiar and somewhat strange bond of affection for the younger boy, he convinced himself that he wasn't actually lying to him.
Not a lie. More - a manipulation of information.
"But I am set now." He grinned his usual reassuring grin and tilted his head slightly to the side. "No more unannounced run offs without giving you a reason first yeah? I promise!" He hesitated for a moment. "Well - so long as I can help it. I am not too comfortable with notifiying everyone that I am going out of sight to take a slash, you know?"
His foot tapped slightly.
It seemed that upon just lightly mentioning the normal bodily function he'd denied so long, he felt his bladder stretch tightly and was aware of his own need to urinate.
He chuckled to himself slightly. Seemed more than just pain was relative.

Mizuki heard Eri's greetings and inclined his head towards her politely but didn't meet her eyes. But this time, it wasn't the subconcious alphamale territorial angst that caused his seeming coldness to her. This time it was something far more human. It was nerves.
She looked so ill and fragile. But at the same time - she didn't seem delicate at all. She seemed on the edge of something. And knowing the situation - that edge could be the gateway to a whole lot of hell. Mizuki knew he could kill Eri if he needed too.
Hell, he'd killed the two people he loved most in the world. Right at the start when he didn't have practice to hardern and disensitise him. But somehow he knew this would be different. Having known Eri as a concious human being - he began to worry that if she turned it'd be all to reminiscent of his parents. And with everything going on - he didn't know if he could mentally cope with the strain of being forced to relive such an experience.

He was aware of Ada and Nikita nearby. They hadn't offered him any personal acknowledgement - so being the typical stroppy adolescent that he was - he paid them no mind either. Tit for Tat.
Despite being far more mature and capable for his years - Mizuki was still, after all, a teenager. And sometimes that showed.

Everyone was beginning to rise to their feet and Mizuki stepped back to give them space to orientate themselves. As Alex slipped, Mizuki made no move to catch him. It was a little spill, nothing to worry about. Besides, Mizuki was out of reaching distance and couldn't have done much anyway.
He turned his face and grinned at Alex in a mocking playful way about to make a joking comment about enjoying his trip.
But as he saw Alex's eyes widen and colour slip from his face he took a step forwards. Then he saw the needle. Something inside him - the nonhuman instinct recoiled violently. And it showed physically. The arm he was reaching towards Alex snapped back and he shuffled backwards.
Even after his mind registered that Alex wasn't going for him with the neddle, but had infact fallen on it himself, part of him still felt highly threatened and wanted nothing more than to run, or attack, or both.
As Alex fell to the floor, Mizuki nearly panicked.
But he didn't. He managed to regain his composure and went to go still Alex, hold him down slightly so he didn't hurt himself as he flailed.
However - even as he moved forwards, Eri got there first. Not feeling morally right to intrude.
He was just quizzical asking himself; since when the ******** did I care wether something was appropriate or not? - when suddenly things took a turn for the worse.

Mizuki could only stare in horror as, in some gross parody of Romeo and Juliet, Eri plunged the needle into her own throat. Mizuki freaked a little. Though on the outside shock only registered on his face - inside his head he was screaming a little.
He resisted the urge to glance at Ada. Even for a second. He knew that because she was older, he would unconciously seek her for help. He refused to do ********! Had all his recent discoveries about himself made him soft? At the start he was the determined leader. Nothing phased him and he took control.
Shaking his head he came back into focus just as Alex was tending to Eri.
He felt a little late to help the immediate issue, but he could still offer some input. First of all he had to get his facts straight.
Going to the beachbag of clothes, half trapped beneath a fallen shelving unit and pulled out the heavy sweater he'd originally got for David. Holding it brought back a sudden flashback of himself crying into David's shoulder and with it came a strong surge of shame at such a drastic loss of dignity.
He handed the sweater to Alex to put over Eri. He didn't want to touch her.
"What was in the Syringe?"

All was quiet for a moment in the after shock. It was in this silence that he began to hear the beginings of shuffling. His hearing was starting to break beyond its usual high standard into the worryingly high perception. As if on cue his stomach twisted and tightened. He took a deep breath and with it came smells that he hadn't quite noticed before.
Calmly and casually, Mizuki reached down and picked up the protein bar Eri had failed to eat and opened it, taking it in measured bites, his face stoic.

((Sorry I haven't posted in so long guys... I have work.. and it takes up time.. and life force crying . Besides work I have a couple other things I had to complete and plan out.))

Kalila dared herself to peek over the cashing desk to look at David and Sarah. In slow motion, she looked out at them as not to grab the thing’s attention. The first thing that caught her eye was the apple in David's hand. She blinked slowly realizing what he was going to do and decided to duck back under just in case the plan backfired. After the initial splat, Kalila heard the whispery noise of bullets firing out of a silenced gun. She peeked back up as she heard a body crumble to the ground. She peeked back out in the direction, and once sure, he was down, her attention changed to Sarah, who had made it across. Kalila took the hand Sarah offered and she was pulled up to a stand. She quickly thanked the woman and grabbed the red phone. Before she could do much else, David spoke up.
Kalila could not believe her ears. However, she thought about it for a few seconds and realized how necessary it was for a store with so much inventory... That is, especially the kind that could go bad when the power went out. GEEZ! It's as if this place was built for people to survive an apocalypse within... It was some of the best news she had heard since the infection hit New York. She clenched her jaw shut as she tried not to yell out in joy. Then there is no way I can let Nina or Jainy stay out there. They have to come to this... perfect... Refuge... From the madness.
"That's... Amazing news. All of it. I think you just brightened my life. I get food and... electricity." She said with major relief. "Let's get this done and inform everyone else of the good news. I'm sure Alex might know... Nevertheless, he's going to fail to mention it to the rest of the group... By assumption most likely..." She sighed. "I know 'em." She looked at its coiled wire, which connected it to its base. The base had a wire connecting to something that ran up a column, with wires from the other stations, and somewhere to the roof. Kalila followed the wire with her eyes.
"I think we can get this wire to stretch out of the door..." She said with a bit of hope. They were at the check out station closest to the door. "You think... We can just yank it and hope it can go far enough?" Kalila asked, swiping a gloved hand over the side of her head. "We just have to get it to extend out of the door. Whoever's out there, hopefully Nina's group, just have to click the button..." She said as she pointed to the green button on the phone, the only button. "and they can talk over the P.A." She tried to see where the wires lead and finally made it to a speaker. She looked at Sarah and then David. A shy and sheepish smile made its way on to her face. A moment later, she pulled the wire as hard as she could. A sound similar to a deep bass guitar note without an amp was heard, and then snaps and clicks. The snaps belonged to plastic holders that kept all the wires bunched together and the clicks belonged to the plastic pieces hitting the ground. She walked away from the checkout station with the phone base in hand. Just from that angle, she was halfway to the automatic doors that were shut off as the exit. It was boarded shut, for it was not the swinging door Mizuki had broken through, or the very same door the infected trucker came in through. When there was a snag Kalila laid it on the ground.
"C-Can someone get some duct tape for me?" Kalila asked, as she held the bow in place. If she let go it would begin to slide back towards the column, ruining the nice wire hypotenuse she had created, with the air and the ground as the legs of the triangle.

"Yeah... We figured as much." Nicholas said with an understanding nod. "Next time... Give a nice little indicator, eh?" He shrugged. "Abandonment never came to our heads... I mean. Kalila would never think that... But, I saw you messing with your gun… You lacked your back. She put two and two together... It sounded right to me... So... yeah." As he said this aloud, he made himself a mental note: Tell Kalila about the incident, for its point for Mizuki. An ugly little thought came up in his head, Or don't tell Kalila. The little section of Nicholas that doubted Mizuki or was weary of him being with his only and dear sister alarmed. However, within a few seconds he smothered the idea enough to "cross that bridge when he got there." Well... At least he promised he wouldn't run off anymore, right? Nicholas Laughed. "Yeah, you feel free to leave to take a piss... None of mind." He said with a grin.
Nicholas was slightly annoyed with Alex. Why the hell's he taking so long! Feed the chick and stuff the pills down her gullet already! he thought harshly. He did not realize it, but his mother's saying of eating before taking medicine also came to play in his mind. His mom brainwashed him so well about it he did not even realize where he pulled the information. Scientifically, he knew medicine worked better when the body could pull energy out of food, so that's where he though he got is information from. Finally, Nicholas sighed with relief from annoyance when Eri took the pill. Her happiness to see Mizuki complexed him as well. Doesn't she... I don't know... Hate him? he thought not moving his head, but looking from Eri to Mizuki. Eri seemed to be getting tired too. PM pills..?
Nikita immediately bent down to Alex's leave and asked him what the hell he did to Eri. He started blurted out information about conspiratorial plan of all doctors and "there kind" wanting to advance through sacrifice of others. Ada placed a firm hand over his mouth before he lost himself. She whispered that it was fine to him and pulled her cousin back from nearly assaulting the younger man. She ordered him to stay on watch and quickly apologized for his actions. Ada really could not get herself to click with this group. She could not feel anything for any of them outside her cousin. Even Eri was hard to feel for. Her reason for defending her was because she was a sweet, young, defenseless girl. Other than that, nothing. Nikita on the other hand felt it was his fault Eri was infected in the first place. He felt a dutiful attachment to her, one ironically similar to that of a doctor with a life of a child in their hands. To Nikita it was just the three of them and tagging with the others as long as necessary.

The little exchange continued beyond Alex and Eri after Nikita freaked out. Nicholas had been ready to intervene calmly. As it was the area he was good at keeping calm in. Two apposing parties at each other's necks and he could keep his cool while calming them. Of course, if he was on one of the sides, it was completely different. However, Ada had intervened first, just as calmly, and that's all that mattered.
Nicholas turned to Mizuki to have a conversation with him as the group began to shift. However, Alex falling in his peripheral vision made him pause in mid-word and turn to help him. However, like Mizuki, he was much to far away to be of any help.
"F*ck!" was the first word that flew out of the boys mouth and a millisecond afterwards Alex writhed in pain. However, h made no noises except for his breathing. Nicholas immediately got to his knees and sat his friend up, leaning him against a shelf. "Stay with me, man!" He ordered as he tried to get the other boy to look at him. He could not even imagine the pain he was going through. He only knew on thing for sure, based off his physical behavior: It hurt like a b*tch. "Look at me..." Dammit what was it his sister always told him to do when he was in pain. "Concentrate on something else... Like... Like.... Your parents! They wouldn't want to see you like this right? They want to see their son... Strong!" He started rambling as if he knew what he was talking about. His idea was just to keep talking. It would help him concentrate on something else. Nicholas did not even see or hear Eri. He was too busy concentrating on Alex. "Kali's going to kill everybody if you don't live through this. You freakin' CLUTZ! Who the hell slips with syringes in their pocket?!" Nicholas roared. It was another technique: make Alex so mad he can't think about the pain. Somewhere within this time period, unknown to Nicholas, Eri had injected herself. Nicholas saw Alex looking modified at something over his shoulders. He was confused for a few seconds. Within those few seconds Nicholas was pushed out of the way as Alex launched towards Eri for her rescue. Nicholas turned to watch the scene unfold. Mizuki even went to give the couple a makeshift-blanket. The way Alex was acting was as if he was never in any pain at all, as if it never happened. "...Sonuva-" Nicholas was cut off as Mizuki asked his question. Nicholas looked up at him from his position on the ground.
"The vaccine... You know... the 'radioactive blood' we were talking about..." He said matter-of-factly. "I don't know man... I'd think he'd at least be high or something…” Nicholas mumbled more to himself. He just took a powerful drug... What's going to happen to him he thought with worry, despite his would be cussing at Alex. He was so shocked by the event that just took place he didn't even notice Mizuki going for the food.
Ada watched the boy slip without much problem. The syringe had a cover on it and that was supposed to take care of problems like that. The worse that she though could have happened was the syringe breaking in general. Nikita almost laughed aloud at the fall and after seeing what happened felt like he earned some type of revenge. After Ada saw what happened she gasped loudly. When Alex started showing physical signs of pain Nikita took back ever think such a thing. Ada tried to go over to Eri to comfort her for her loss. She had liked Alex, right? Ada was so sure the boy was simply dead: one does not give a powerful drug to a person who doesn't need it. However, when the girl started going towards Alex and Ada stopped herself from going forward. She could not get near that boy at the moment. She felt like she would be breaking a rule of some sort. Nikita watched the chaos break loose around him and felt too much confusion to do more than watch. He came back to himself when he saw Eri lift the syringe. He barked at the young girl not to, holding his hand out for visual emphasis. He was too far away to stop her. Then, the deed was done. She knocked out. Nikita went to her little body, lying in Alex's arms. He asked her if she was ok. However, anger edged his voice. He was so ready to sock the kid in the face. How dare he take off his shirt to do something so useless.

Alex took the sweatshirt from Mizuki, looking at him gratefully. He layed it over Eri. Everyone was getting too worked up over his ordeal. A vaccine wasn't like a normal drug. A vaccine's soul purpose is to treat, prevent, and give immunity to virus's... So in all technicallities, Alex should be BETTER then he was before he got injected. However that wasn't how he felt at all. Alex's face had gone flush, his cheeks a little red. He probably had a mild fever. His throat was dry too. Looking at Nicholas, he smiled. Mostly to assure Nicholas that he was fine.
David looked under the cash register. There was a thing of duct tape under there. Grabbing it, he handed it to Kalila. "Glad I could brighten your day..." David said, then he put his finger to his lip. "Yeah, Wal-Marts, and most supermarkets, have generators... This one will probably have about a month worth's of power once the power goes out. They also have water, although exact amount I am not sure of..." He said looking to his wife.
"We should be set for about a month..." Sarah said, finally gaining her lisp under a little bit of control. "After that I don't know though..." She said.
David agreed, after they got the wal-mart all borded up, they needed to think of a new plan... Would they keep drifting from store to store... would they try to make it to some place where the infected hadn't... Speaking of which, How far had the infected gotten?
Sarah looked at Kalila. She too pondered where they would go. The problem with the infected is that they were like any other creature. They evolved, only the virus caused them to analyze a situation and adapt A LOT quicker then normal humans... the problem with fleeing anywhere would be that, EVENTUALLY the infected would get there... although if it would be in Sarah's lifetime she wasn't quite sure...

Mizuki chewed up the last of the energy bar in silence. Everyone around him was freaking out. Nicholas was swearing and twitching and flailing a little bit, and in the corner of his attention Mizuki saw Nikita bend over Eri. Unable to block him out, Mizuki could easily detect the was the other males voice hitched with emotion.
Mizuki however kept his face stoic and didn't say another word. He'd sort of, detatched himself from the situation, focusing on the relatively normal process of chewing. A continuous motion where each movement cued the next. It was kind of weird, actually. He was sure he'd ever focused this intensely on the natural act before in his life. And he could see why. The process was pretty disgusting, the way the energybar was mashed into a pulp, mixed with saliva to soften and liquidize it as all manner of enzymes set to work. It was actually beginning to make him feel quite repulsed, and when he swallow the last mouthful he did so almost reluctantly.
Screwing up the wrapped he tossed it over his shoulders and cast his eyes around.

He must have been silent for a long time, because looking around everyone was staring at him. Without breaking his strange, almost paper, expression he rolled his shoulders in a non commital manner.
"Going for a piss."
Despite being detatched from the seriousness of the situation - this sudden announcment even seemed ridiculous to him.
But without so much as another syllable he turned and dissappeared behind a shelving until and lowered his fly. Thinking back he wondered just why he had said it. To break the silence?
It certainly hadn't meant to make light of the situation - even if that was the effect it ineviatbly had. Instead, Mizuki settled on the self explanation that he'd earlier promised Nicholas that he wouldn't leave without a reason or justification.
He shivered a little at the coldness of his hands. And a little at how unfamiliar it felt in his hands. He was struck, as he emptied his bladder against the empty shelves, shifting his shoes out of the firing line, that how alien the whole process felt. It was perfectly natural. And to be fair, every adolescent boy has a strong relationship to his p***s. It kind of intrigued Mizuki how quickly what was previous normal became abbandoned and strange. For example. Just taking a leak. His bladder had learned to push itself to the limits in the last month or so. Survival came first. He didn't have time just to drop trough whenever he pleased - and thus simply urinating became a rarer occurance. And as for masturbating! Well - what used to be a relatively frequent pass time had now become a distant memory.
Irrelevant perhaps to the situation. But it just struck Mizuki as odd at how things changed. Humankind was indeed adaptable. But in a way - it was kind of sad. Cultures and rituals that had previously been so common place and long living could be so easily abandoned. He was now thinking on a much grander scale than a gentle wank in the evening ofcourse. For example, when was the last time he went down to mcdonalds for a quick bite and a milkshake - or walked into Virgin and bought a CD?
All he knew was a distant memory. And what was more- he found it hard to find any remorse for it. As if this memory of times past where something he had read in a book rather than lived.
He shook himself, and his head and smiled coyly as he sorted himself out.
Man - my trains of thought are so weird. If I tried to explain this to any of them, I reckon that'd sinch their suspicions of me going nuts and I'd end up with a bullet in my nut.

As he came back to the lot of them they were as he left them. If not a little bewildered by his sudden exclamation. Stuffing his hands in his pockets and rolling his shoulder to realign his gun strap . . .
That's another thing. I never really touched a gun properly before all this - now I never go anywhere without one
. . . he looked over at the others.
"So the others have gone to seal up the place?" He pretty much echoed Nicholas' words, looking at him with calm half lidded eyes and a pleasant, weird, smile.
"It's probably not best to move her" he jabbed his head towards Eri, but there was no animosity in his voice, "but, its only a matter of time before the crazies come bumping around here. Besides, as much as I am sure the others can cope without us, I am little worried about some of them."
His mind was on Sarah. Though he wasn't sure if she'd been infected, his wound stuck in his mind like a record on repeat.
"My suggestion is that we go after them. Maybe even mow some of the crazies down in the process. Besdies - the amount I saw round the food courts - we'd be safer attacking them as a group. We might even find a safe place to hole up Eri."
It was the first time he'd used her name, and it tasted strange in his mouth.
"I don't like the idea of her being so helpless and a liability."
He looked to Alex.
"If we do move out. I want to carry her, okay?" It was clear he was asking permission. He would've have to have been blind not to notice the bond between the two youngest members of their group.
"No offense, but I don't much fancy your chances on a wounded leg."
He held his hands up, palms outwards in a mock gesture of 'don't shoot!'
"Not that I doubt your capable. It's just easier this way."
He looked around the group. He did send his eyes over Nikita - but he missed out Ada. He still didn't like her, and far as he was concerned, her opinion counted for jack.

((The Kalila/Nicholas/Nikita/Ada/Mizuki/Alex/David/Sarah/Eri side of the story until Metzli finishes her post... However, that is no excuse for the other group. Why is that side stuck...? We need a post from Crimson or/and Terry... soon.))
